I had one job…keep my head down, graduate, and get the hell out of this town. No distractions. No detours. Definitely no getting involved with my broody, ex-NFL linebacker coach. But then I walked into his office. He called me baby and I called him Daddy. Now Coach Murphy Reynolds watches me like I’m his game-winning play. And when he tells me I don’t have to be strong anymore, turns my rear end red and give me juice in a…sippy cup? I melt faster than my panties in that overheated gym.
A taboo, high-heat, daddy dom romance with zero shame and a whole lot of heart. SAFE, no cheating, filthy-sweet HEA.
Welcome to Bratton Hollow. A quiet little town where the Daddies are strict, the girls are always in trouble, and the rules are more than just suggestions. If you like brat taming, power exchange, and emotionally intense submission with no fluff and no brakes, you’re in the right place. No cliffhangers. No cheating. Just toe-curling steam and the kind of daddy who always takes care of his girl.
With an absent father and a chronically ill mom, 18-year-old Taryn St. Claire shoulders more responsibilities than most high school seniors. When the weight is too much and she falls apart in Coach Murphy Reynolds’ office, neither can deny their feelings any longer.
Yes, Coach is the first book in Mira Vance’s new series, Bratton Hollow. Y’all know I’m a sucker for a Daddy so I jumped all over the chance to read this one. Murphy was a little softer than I would have expected and the spice came early, but there wasn’t much of it. That said, I liked the characters and the dynamic packed into a one-sitting read. I’ll be anxious to dive into Yes, Sheriff later this month!

This was so sweet and daddy coach was amazing I devoured this so ready for the next book cause wow the chemistry is amazing and the way they are with each other is so passionate
I was fortunately given an ARC copy of this book. I saw Mira Vance’s FB page and was looking forward to reading her book.
This is a a feel good, light, super sexy daddy trope book. Just the perfect escape for me. The MMC is a coach in school. The FMC is a student that he supports in terms of college applications. There is an unmistakable attraction between them that the FMC decides to pursue and explore and the MMC is fully on board. And it gets hotter from there. Aside from the daddy trope it is also a secret relationship so there were delicious taboo moments. They do make it to her graduation wherein after they are able to come out as a couple. There is an epilogue that is purely HEA.
I got about 40-50% done with this book before I just couldn’t take it anymore. Overall it was cringy and the same stuff was repeated CoNsTaNtLy. 😬
“You know you’re my little girl now, right? And you’ll do little girl things to please me.” Umm pause… WHAT??? EXCUSE ME??? 🤢 I already thought it was a little strange for a 37 year old man to be infatuated with an 18 year old student of his, but this, I don’t even know.
I read some reviews before I started this book, and they were all saying this book is a nice, steamy, short romance book that’ll have your panties wet and you begging for more… I’m begging for it to end. 🔚 All of this actually makes me think I read the wrong book. And who knows maybe I did.
I’m not saying this book was bad… but it was bad and it’s not my cup of tea.☕️
She wanted someone to take care of her. He needed someone to give everything to.
Taryn has spent her whole life being the strong one. Juggling school, college apps, and a mother who’s slipping further away every day, she’s barely holding it together. But when Coach Reynolds offers more than just support, she steps into something she never expected: control, safety, and rules that let her breathe for the first time.
Murphy knows better. At thirty-seven, he’s disciplined, respected, and fully aware of what crossing the line could cost him. But Taryn doesn’t just want him, she wants to belong. And the more she calls him Daddy, the more he realizes he’s already hers. He doesn’t just take her body. He takes her late-night fears, her secrets, her burdens. He builds her a world where she can finally fall apart without breaking.
What starts as forbidden becomes essential. Their secret relationship, built on trust, structure, and a need that runs deeper than lust, threatens to collapse under pressure from the outside world. But he won’t let go. Not now. Not ever.
Taryn evolves from a guarded, overburdened teenager into a young woman who learns to express her desires and embrace vulnerability. Murphy shifts from a conflicted authority figure to someone who fully leans into his need for control and protection, accepting his role in Taryn’s life without apology. Their relationship moves from tense and forbidden attraction to a secret but intense dynamic rooted in dominance, submission, and emotional dependence, eventually becoming a fully committed partnership once the external barriers fall away.
A steamy, taboo, instalove, age gap, DDlg erotic romance, exploring love, power imbalance, obsession, secrecy, control, protection, consent, identity, desire, coming of age, manipulation, emotional dependency, and rebellion. It's about control, healing, and choosing the person who sees every part of you, and stays.
For Mira first book it was amazing. I love a good DD/LG and this book was just what I needed. Taryn is tired of being the adult while still in high-school taking care of her sick mother. When Coach Murphy Reynolds helps her with her college application and helps her get into state things start to change. Murphy wants to help Taryn become her protector be the one to handle the hard things all she can say is YES, Daddy. Loved every minute of this book.
Hot Enough to Blow the Whistle—Coach Scores Big!!!
Yes, Coach is the kind of bold, deliciously over-the-top story that grabs you by the collar (or pigtails) and doesn’t let go. Mira Vance takes small-town steam to a whole new level in this unapologetically spicy start to the Bratton Hollow series.
Taryn is focused, fierce, and a little bit fiery—until she walks into Coach Murphy Reynolds’ office and everything changes. Murphy is the textbook definition of commanding, and the power dynamic between them? Off-the-charts addictive. Their chemistry is all heat, heart, and a very specific kind of discipline that will make fans of high-heat romance very happy.
Expect: 🏈 A broody, ex-NFL Daddy Dom 🔥 All the taboo tension you can handle 😈 Bratty banter and sweet submission 🍼 A wild ride with a shockingly soft emotional core
While the story is packed with playful power exchange and sizzling scenes, it’s also surprisingly tender beneath the heat—showing that sometimes the strongest love comes when you finally feel safe enough to let go.
This is a novella that knows exactly what it’s doing and doesn’t apologize for it. Safe, dirty, sweet, and totally satisfying—Murphy and Taryn's story is an unforgettable kickoff to Bratton Hollow.

Yes, Coach by Mira Vance is the first title I've read by this author and it was as described, a quick, taboo, high-heat, daddy dom romance with no shame and a lot of heart and a HEA. Taryn is carrying a lot of the weight of responsibility in trying to look after her ill mother, work too many jobs to pay the bills, study to graduate high school and apply to college. There is an unspoken connection between Taryn and Coach Murphy whilst he tries to keep his desire for her locked down knowing his position and their ages, but feelings escape and both explore the possibility of something with each other. As an age gap, forbidden romance, possessive and protective MMC read, it was sweet but just a little too cringe for me as the FMC was end of high school rather than in college at the beginning of the story. That being said I will try more stories by this author as I come across them.
Her father is long gone, and her mother is ill, she has a lot on her plate for a high school senior. There is something about the strong daddy vibes and protective persona that he gives off. He is a former NFL player and now a high school coach. He knows it’s wrong, but he has been watching her for some time. When she indicates she’s interested in him also there is no stopping him. This one definitely has more smut than plot. It is also a little ick for me with her still being in high school. I thought this was a college romance, and the high school thing was a no for me. They definitely have some spice and strong chemistry. However, I just couldn’t get past high school.

★ “For once, I'm just letting myself want something…” ★
“And what I want is Coach Murphy Reynolds. Game on.”
Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars - Murphy has been struggling with the lust he feels for Taryn, but he also respects the hard work and effort she does to take care of her parents. He is more than willing to help her take the heavy burden of providing for her family off her shoulders, and when she makes it clear she needs more than justhelp with her college applications, he could not hold back anymore. An easy-flowing, small-town student/teacher romance, with a minor bit of drama.
This was just meh... I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. Was it spicy? Absolutely! Was the spice well written? Yes. Did I love the age gap.. meh. I should have stopped reading when I realized she was 18 years old... The MMC, Murphy, was 37 years old, brooding and ex-football player. He was completely obsessed about the FMC, Taryn, and had been for months. One day she dangles the forbidden fruit and he can no longer resist. This leads to a steamy and forbidden relationship. This is story is complete with a HEA.
This wasn't a home run for me, but it had nothing to do with the story telling. I just didn't love it.
This is a short age gap romance about a high school girl who develops feelings for the retired NFL linebacker Coach Reynolds. The story includes some drama involving a creepy principal, and the contrast is interesting because the coach is aware he is not that different on paper. The key difference is that she genuinely chooses him and he never forces himself into her space.
It follows the classic struggling girl saved by the protective older man trope. The story is cute and easy to read, but it does not go very deep emotionally.
I liked it as a palate cleanser between heavier romances that feel emotionally exhausting. It is light, quick, and sweet without demanding too much from the reader.
Tropes: high school setting, coach-study hall teacher/student, age gap (18 x 37), virgin FMC, mf
Triggers/Warnings: parent with illness
Kinks: oral, daddy kink, good girl, praise kink
Thoughts:
I wanted to see their first time meeting and some of the tension. I feel like I came into the story a few chapters late. This was the typical ‘Daddy’ persona kink where he wants to take care of everything but in a lighter fashion since she is still in high school.
Taryn has a forbidden crush on her coach, who is a former pro footballer. She is tired of being an adult with adult responsibilities. She has had the weight of the world on her shoulders. When coach first meets her, he tries to avoid the attraction. He admires her. He wants to help her take the weight of her baggage to help her manage happiness.

Yes, Coach, book 1 of the Bratton Hollow series, by Mira Vance @miravanceromance. I love Mira’s alter ego so I am confident I will like this too!
What a great spicy slightly taboo book about Murphy & Taryn! So good! Tropes: Contemporary, Male/Female, Daddy Vibes (🥵🥵🥵) Age Gap, Teacher/Student, No 3rd Act Break Up & HEA!
An instalove with: age gap, teacher/student, lots of spice, possessive hero, dominant yet protective 💗 Although Taryn and Murphy's relationship might be "forbidden," it's the least of their concerns. After having to bear all the responsibilities alone, Taryn will finally get help 🤭💗 The beginning of the book! 🤯 Epic! I loved it!
This was a cute, fast read. Taryn was a refreshing fmc who knew what she wanted a did what she wanted to get it and honestly who wouldn't fall in love with a man like Murphy. If there was a little more back story it would have been even better but it was an enjoyable read!.

Taryn and Murphy Y'all! I've been dying to read a new Coach novella, and this one was just amazing. I really liked Taryn and Murphy together. Their relationship definitely grows at a fast pace, but it is still entertaining. The plot and the steam are there. You really get everything in a short amount of time. Loved it!
Looking for a quick nighttime sweet and filthy story this is a good choice. I say good instead of excellent choice because the chemistry was lukewarm. I had to keep looking at the model on the book cover to remind me that this man was incredibly sexy because his description made me think cinnamon roll.

Taryn is being buried under too much responsibility for a young person still at school. She's holding down too many jobs just to cope with life and her mum. Coach Murphy sees her and starts to assist with her applications to college. But deep down they have feelings for each other that are not allowed. What should they do? Risk it all or walk away from temptation? Good read.
A quick, steamy little read that gave me soft Daddy/Dom vibes wrapped in a cutesy dynamic. One of those lighthearted taboo novellas.
The age gap was big (about 19 years), and even though that usually makes me hesitate, it surprisingly didn’t feel too bad here. It leaned more toward sweet and protective than anything uncomfortable.
Not a new favorite, but a fun, spicy escape for a short read.
-dual POV -no ow drama -no separation -no cheating -divorced hero -virgin heroine -H(37)/h(18) -mild daddy kink -low steam -unwanted attention from om -horny desperate immature heroine -the H was not alpha imo -lackluster epilogue: 1 year later -no marriage, engagement, babies or pregnancy... he did give her a "promise" ring though 🙄
This one is so HOT! I love all the protective ways this story play out. All the kind and caring ways Murphy took to helping Taryn. 😍❤️😍 Totally melt worthy.
Yes, Coach is book one of the Bratton Hollow Series.
This was an intensely hot and spicy read between a daddy dom and his baby girl. They have a lot of heated chemistry together. She is a bratty tease and he can only resist so much before he takes her up on her offer. Short but spicy.
Spicy, forbidden, age gap, a bratty FMC, banter, protective alpha MMC, chemistry, connection and all that packed in a wonderfully written story with heart, heat and a HEA.

In all the best ways I promise you. OTT MMC. Teacher/student, age gap everything that society says it’s wrong comes together in all the best ways! First time reading this author and I can’t wait for more.
