Survival Instinct #3

Fighting Instinct

Rate this book
It’s been over six years since the events of Adaptive Instinct, and the survivors have settled into their lives aboard the Diana. They have their familiar routines on the modified cruise ship, where they feel relatively safe from the zombie threat that still plagues both the mainland and surrounding islands. That all changes when a cruise ship enters their waters, one that won’t respond to their hails. With the lure of fuel too great to ignore, a team is sent over to investigate. What no one realizes is that there’s already a threat aboard their own vessel; one that’s going to set off a chain reaction of events that will alter everything they know.

Another Solid Entry

Fighting Instinct is another solid entry into the Instinct franchise. Miss Stittle has been one of my favorites since I first discovered Survival Instinct. I read zombie fiction constantly, but her writing has managed to stand out in my mind as both unique and highly entertaining. Honestly, if I'm to evaluate each book individually, this is my least favorite entry thus far. However, that's only because of where we find ourselves in the story. The setting for the majority of this part of the story is almost entirely on the cruise ship, which is very interesting, but somewhat limits the scope of the action. This made it a slightly slower read than her previous two entries in my opinion, but this is just part of the story. The writing was outstanding as usual and this is without question a five-star tell from a five-star author. I can't wait for the next entry. If you enjoy the Instinct series I would also highly recommend the Deadfall series from author Richard Flunker.
