Steven graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1993, receiving a bachelor of science in English literature. He served the next eight years on active duty, traveling the world as a naval officer assigned to various Navy and Marine Corps units. His extensive journey spanned the globe, including a two-year tour of duty in Japan and travel to more than twenty countries throughout Asia and the Middle East.

From enforcing United Nations sanctions against Iraq as a maritime boarding officer in the Arabian Gulf, to directing aircraft bombing runs and naval gunfire strikes as a Forward Air Controller (FAC) assigned to a specialized Marine Corps unit, Steven's "in-house" experience with a wide range of regular and elite military units brings a unique authenticity to his thrillers.

He still wakes up at "zero dark thirty" to write for most of the day. When "off duty," he spends as much time as possible outdoors or travelling with his family--and dog.

Steven is the bestselling author of ten novels and several novellas, including a commissioned trilogy of novellas based on the popular Wayward Pines series. His canon of work includes the popular Black Flagged Series, a gritty, no-holds barred covert operations and espionage saga; The Perseid Collapse series, a post-apocalyptic thriller epic chronicling the events surrounding an inconceivable attack on the United States; and The Fractured State series, a near future, dystopian thriller trilogy set in the drought ravaged southwest

Definitely needs more before and after this book, too many holes that need to be filled, all in all a decent action thriller though.

Good read but too short!
Steve Konkoly creates an futuristic thriller about a global catastrophe unleashed on the world by a pandemic plague and an alien driven world war. Chaos and aggression rule – invincible super-troopers threaten the existence of the allied forces. There was a lot packed into the storyline and I enjoyed the characters. Lots of action! The only thing I have against the book is that it begins and ends with a cliffhanger. It’s like it was cut out of the middle of a longer book. I received a complimentary copy but my opinions are honest and voluntary. Overall, I enjoyed the book but it seems like it should be a little more standalone or else in a series.

The Centurian Code is part of the Atlantis: The Origin Mystery series which was part of a Kindle World series. This story can be read as a standalone (good thing since the Kindle World is no more and you can't get the other books unless the author rereleases them). This was in interesting looks into warfare involving super soldiers. The author does a good job of trying to catch up new readers on some of the background as to what this war is about, and who is on which side. Hopefully someday I can read more in this series.

I think the heart of a warrior and the love of his family are the center of this novella.

Reader's note: This was once part of a Kindle World series. Mr. Konkoly had written the story in line with an A R Shaw world. However, after Kindle World was removed, Mr. Konkoly revamped it to stand on its own merits.

Major Crane's thoughts are on his job but his heart is with his family as he performs a mission that he hopes will save their lives and multitudes of others.

I love how Mr. Konkoly acknowledges those who wait at home while showing the mission and the risks involved.

If you like military Sci-Fi, you'll love this. It's got a fast pace, lots of action, and believable (to me, anyway) military techno-babble. It's well written. Exciting.

It just didn't do it for me, because there wasn't enough emotion to it. I could really only relate to one character, and by the end I empathized with one other, but for the most part, it was too clinical.

I'm still getting up to speed with current Sci-Fi, and I picked this one because the premise sounded interesting, but I will probably skip this sub-genre going forward.

This was a great short story. Filled with espionage and lots of military action. A lone soldier set out on a mission to save humanity and all he wants in return is to get back to his family. After some mission plans go wrong will he make it back? This was a novella that read like a novel. Full of action, heroics, hope and suspense.

I wish to thank Steven Konkoly for the free readers copy. In return, I offer this completely unbiased review.

A nice military Sci Fi novela about an alien invasion. Deals strictly with the military conduct to fight off a vastly superior alien invasion. The battle is back and forth and the war is not resolved in this story. Good for people who like military fights.

a fast paced military story using futuristic mental codes to enchance soldiers strength. Pits a former corporation boss against the military might of many nations. Plenty of action that will keep you on your seat until the end.

Alien vs World Military thriller. Aliens trying to take over the world; sophisticated, but deadly “armor” for our side. Who will win? This action-packed thriller is realistic. This could easily become a series. I enjoyed it!

Fast paced!

Very fast paced story. The story definitely kept moving. The only problem, the story could have had a better setup in the beginning. Otherwise I enjoyed it very much.
