4.25 stars! This was a great start to this new omegaverse series (by multiple authors), of a group of badašș omega women who find themselves in an unthinkable situation, and not only get themselves out of it but find a way to thrive. In this community they build, safety is paramount, and everyone looks out for everyone else. Lexi’s story comes first, and it’s a doozy!

For Lexi, Widow’s Peak is home, and it’s all she ever wants. She’s settled, safe, and comforable, and happily so. Enter into the picture Emmett, another abused and traumatized omega who is instantly drawn to Lexi, and who becomes her best friend while secretly pining for more. This is not a fast burn or quick/instalove story. Years pass before things start to really happen. As they begin to explore and settle, enter Sloane and Aiden, Alphas that Lexi never wanted, yet can’t seem to escape (on multiple levels). Their romance is quicker to light, faster to burn, and they also bring their own relationship into the mix, so….bonus! This is ultimately a story about Lexi (and Emmett) learning to trust and love, and Aiden and Sloane learning to be I who their omegas need them to be.

I loved how we have 3 distinct male personalities, in addition to Lexi’s strong female vibe. We have a golden retriever, a fierce protector, and a goofy and loveable, but protective male. Lexi and Emmett get the best of all worlds when they are finally able to let down their walls. This book is full of drama, trauma, longing, knotting, and playing, and it’s all done with consent and respect. There is definitely some darker and deeper content within the story, but it doesn’t overpower the positive message of healing that is thread throughout. It’s a great story, and a great world building setup for what we’ll see with the rest of this series, and I’m very excited for more.

I love Lexi she is just as crazy as Sloane but her finding 3 men who love her and worship is what she deserves. And my Emmett finding his other half in another omega and his scent matches as well made me so happy for him. I love Alisha’s OV stories so much.

If you haven’t read this author at all, I don’t know what’s wrong with you. She is my number one go to my automatic buy, and one of the only authors that I can continuously reread and never be bored.

This book was not any different in that regard. I absolutely loved it.

Our FMC is Lexi and she hasn’t been given an easy life. She’s a twin. Her twin is Silva. Whose book is out next by a different author since this is an interconnected standalone series if that makes sense?

Lexi and Silva ran from their foster home when they were 18 survived on their own for a few months until they went out one night came home and were kidnapped and held prisoner for the next three years. I don’t know if anything happened to Silva in those three years but we do know nothing happened to Lexi. Although that’s not to say that she didn’t go through something before that.

I won’t spoil the book, but I will say Lexi Silva, and the other women who were taken around the same time as them which was four other women all ran the night they were supposed to be sold and created their own town from a town that was abandoned.

This is when we meet one of Lexi’s guys three years after they ran his name is Emmett. Emmett like Lexi is an omega. They’ve both been through their fair share of trauma. What starts out his best friends turns to lovers.


Then they meet two alphas who turned out to be both of their scent matches.


That’s all I’m gonna spoil. I absolutely loved Sloan and Aiden. They were just what Emmett and Lexi needed. I absolutely loved all the characters to be honest.

This is definitely gonna be something I reread in the future and I can’t wait to see what happens in Silva’s book.

A sweeter vibe in a darker world!
If you like content warnings to your storyline balanced with very sweet romance in your Omegaverse this book would definitely be a good shout 😀
It follows Lexi and the safe haven she’s created with other omegas to offer them shelter from the likes of what she experienced 😳 due to this she has a serious mistrust of Alphas, yet Aiden and Sloane upon finding her show what it’s like to be worshiped an it’s really sweet to see that relationship bloom, although I feel it was male omega Emmett whom she met first who really bright down the walls she had! I just found the pacing a bit off at times but There’s plenty of spice in this and the mix of sweet present with a traumatic past experience for a good OV story 👍

I really enjoyed Lexi’s story! She fought through a rough start from multiple fronts and had the most beautiful character growth: going from living for others to living for herself. While there are very dark undertones, this is ultimately a very sweet omegaverse romance. I love Emmett and his relationship with Lexi! As for Sloane and Aiden and as is common with scent matches, things progress very quickly. I was definitely here for it - fast-track courting with insanely hot moments! I really love the concept of Widow’s Peak - the sense of community, the willingness to help people down on their luck, the loyalty of the town for the Widows. I can’t wait to see how the other Widows are getting along with the rest of the series!

I love Lexi and Emmett!! Their relationship and bond was so sweet. I loved being able to see them leaning on eachother and supporting one another.

Sloane was a hyper golden retriever with no filter. He was hilarious but knew when to be serious in showing the omegas how much they mean to him.

Aiden was the levelheaded protector just wanting them to find their way together as a pack and with all the changes coming for them in the near future.

This was a fun easy read!! I can’t wait to read the other girls stories!

Beware of the Widows

Great start to this shared world of six women that went through the fire and display their scars as medals.

I loved Sloane so much. I am always the lover of a psycho puppy. Lexi is an amazing person, who like the others, builds a place where omegas and others can feel safe.

You really fall in love with the characters and the story. So much fun to meet the other widows and get to know them a little.

This why choose omegaverse & first book of an amazing new series was an incredible read! The tragic beginning sets it all in motion for our girl, omega Lexi, to turn into such a badass! She broke those chains and gave double deuces to all alphas and their alphahole ways. Overcoming such a trauma has got to be immensely difficult, but she did it… as best as anyone can… she overcame it all and came out on the other side with such a full and amazing life with her amazing men and lots of omegaverse spicy time and all the things that go with it (knots, purrs, nesting, slick, etc)!

When he heard about a town for omegas, where they are protected and can live without fear, he took what money he had saved, some hope for a better life and drove that way. He is a dreamboat!

Aiden Madden, 36 years old, alpha and special forces. In a long-term relationship with Sloane. Aiden is the “daddy” alpha. He is the one who keeps Sloane in line, ok nobody can keep Sloane in line. He tries to keep Sloane in line and be the protector and caretaker of them all. He is also a cinnamon-roll but in a “daddy” role. It’s hot!

Sloane Madden, 36 years old, alpha and special forces. In a long-term relationship with Aiden. Sloane is seriously a man-child. He is THE world’s biggest flirt, always joking and having fun. STORYLINE/PLOT:
This story starts back in time, when Lexi is 18, again at 26, then ends up for the majority of the book at age 31. The happenings in the early chapters are very important to the story and set it off with the right feels and in the right headspace to continue on.

After saving themselves from captivity, Lexi and Silva found a deserted town in the Colorado wilderness to stay in. They fortified it and made it a little town for omegas to live and life safely from the threat of alphas who want to own or harm them, the town called Widow’s Peak.

Lexi has been single and focusing on running the town, not making the time for anything or anyone else. That is until Emmett Walker shows up one day. With her 31 and him 24 she thinks she is too old but regardless she is taken with him immediately. He is smitten and in love at first sight. They become the absolute best of friends, until it turns into more.

Then comes Aiden and Sloane Madden. They are both alphas, 36 years old and are in love and partners in all ways. They even took the same last name. They were agents who were tasked to find Lexi and Silva when they went missing from their foster care family. They have been looking ever since.

I absolutely love all the main characters in this story! Lexi and Emmett are amazing together. They have a relationship built on trust and care and they do everything they can to make the other happy. They never expect 2 alphas to barge into their lives turning things upside down. Alphas are bad and they treat omegas terribly, right? Not these two! These two are unicorns among alphas. They just want to love and be loved. And maybe get some revenge on those who have wronged their omegas!

This is a story about saving yourself, allowing yourself to heal and realizing you deserve to be loved and cared for. Life is way too short to deny yourself happiness due to fear.

What an amazingly perfect way to kick off “Beware of the Widows” Series. This one is sweet and spicy with a dark tone to start us off with.

This story had me from the first page. I mean, wow, these girls went through a lot to start off with. I wouldn’t personally class this as dark, as a lot of what the girls went through at the beginning is told after the fact, not through direct first-hand writing. However, you certainly feel what they suffered with Alisha's brilliant writing.

We start off with Lexi and Silva, twin sisters that haven’t had an easy life, especially in the years with their last foster family. Having escaped that, they then end up being taken by a trafficking ring and held captive for 3 years. Here is where we get to meet the other ladies within the ‘Widows’ omega family. And I have to say I am really excited to read more about each of them, with their own books throughout the series. Silva is the next book, and I'm totally looking forward to more of this badass omega, and I'm sure Jenn will do her justice!

Once the ladies manage to escape, they end up in an abandoned town, called Widows Peak. Together, they transform the town into a haven and sanctuary for those who need to feel safe and start over again. 5 years on, after escaping his own traumatic life, we get to meet Emmett, who was just the most adorable omega. He fell hard and fast for Lexi, but Lexi still had to work through her trauma and worried about the fact Emmett is 7 years her junior, so for 5 years Lexi and Emmett have been the best of friends, spending nearly all their time together. However, now Lexi is starting to get a possessive streak over Emmett and starts seeing him in a new light, which he is absolutely ecstatic about, as Emmett has waited all this time for Lexi to be ready and open for more.

Emmett really is an amazing Omega. I love his wonderful playful nature, and he’s so protective and perfect for Lexi. Lexi is such a sweet, gentle soul, she just wants everyone to be happy and feel safe. She still suffers from past trauma and life at Widows Peak has become her shield from the outside world she no longer trusts. I adored her sweet nature, with the odd pops of her growly feisty side that comes out to play, Oh, and her filthy mouth 😂

Two months on, after Lexi and Emmett become officially together, we meet Sloane and Aiden. They'd been searching for Lexi as a runaway for almost 10years after seeing a picture of her and feeling the pull to find her. They obviously didn’t expect to find two omegas, and for them both to be their scent-matches.

Aiden, Sloane & Levi’s first meeting doesn’t go to plan, but they soon work things out and start to court their omegas. Their characters are fantastic, they are so what Lexi and Emmett need. Aiden is gentle, protective and will do anything to ensure both Lexi and Emmett are happy, going at their pace. Sloane…..oh he was definitely my favourite. He’s an excitable spaniel puppy, just so chaotic, boisterous and anything that pops into his mind comes out of his mouth, he’s just so funny and utterly adorable, he had me giggling out loud….a lot! 🤣

Their whole story was such a fantastic read, it was wonderfully paced, keeping you engaged throughout. It’s a story of healing, learning to trust again and, most of all, finding love.
I loved it all and can highly recommend, even if it’s just to meet Sloane 😍.

I just knew that this new series was going to be soooo freaking good. I loved the plot, each and every character that was mentioned (besides the bad guys🥊but they were well written!) Alisha just knows what she’s doing when it comes to making their personalities come to life.

I’m obsessed with two omega packs (M&F) and this is probably in my top three out of all I’ve read so far. The trauma bonding, best friendship, to romantic relationship between Lexi and Emmett tugged at my heart strings. I absolutely loved how obsessed Emmett was with Lexi and vice versa. And the surprise for both of them was literally the cherry on top. Cutest little duo I ever did see.

As every review mentions, Aiden and Sloane were literally top tier. Not only was their relationship so beautiful and how they completely understood each other was so adorable to read but their personalities were so good that I couldn’t get enough. I’m embarrassed (not really) about how much I highlighted in this book because everything was too good to not mark lol. Sloane is THAT alpha. If I were in an OV world, I’d want an alpha just like him lol. His unhinged, ADHD, hilarious, naughty self stole the show. He had me laughing with tears in my eyes and he was just so infectious. I loved him so much and I love that Aiden would get all soft and gooey for him.😍🥹

The spice was hot. Like hot hot hot. Reading an alpha getting pinned down by his omega as he (alpha) bottomed?? Gahhhh. I think that scene will live rent free in my head for the rest of my life.🤣🥵

Two small mentions and I don’t think they’re worth knocking a star over because this book was amazing regardless. The first is that there’s quite a few spelling errors towards the end of the book. That personally doesn’t bother me but figured I’d mention just in case. And the second is that while there is a heat for Lexi, it’s only with Emmett and it’s not really detailed while Emmett’s heat was detailed and with both alphas + Lexi present. I wish we could have gotten a bonus epilogue with her heat with all of them especially since hers was like a blip when E’s was a BANG lol.

Oh and I also love how the bondings happened in the book. I feel like they fit perfectly with the story and I love the patience and the understanding the alphas had for their omegas.🥹 AND I LOVED the We Are Worthy and We Are Destiny mentions 😍🫶🏼 And I hope Alisha adds more pregnancy to her books, loooooved!

** spoiler alert ** There is nothing better than a more than great Omega-verse story. I am so loving this new genre that I can't seem to get enough!
Lexi is a great start to this new series "Beware of the Widows"
Lexi and her twin sister Silva bring this story alive. They have a cruel past and whilst still dealing with their own trauma, flee their foster home and go on the run.
Their unfortunate capture by Gideon's henchmen takes their new found freedom away.
Three years of grooming, getting the Omegas ready for Sale, and Lexi and Silva with their 4 room mates decide to escape.
And escape they did! Successfully starting a new life for the 6 Omega women, they set up a new township just for Omegas, who need a safe place to stay. Widows Peak is born!
A great backstory as Lexi and Silva go on to try and move past their trauma. Lexi is a loner, who prefers not to let anyone close. She finds it hard to trust. So when Emmett also escapes his old life, and finds Widows Peak and sees Lexi for the first time, he falls in love!! Insta Love...Oh Yeh!!
Shame that love is not reciprocated for years to come!!
A reverse age gap, and Lexi does not want to tie a younger, handsome Omega down. She knows she is damaged and carries a lot of baggage, but as best friends, Emmett and Lexi do reveal their pasts to each other.
Love eventually wins and after her first heat, with the help of Emmett, they become a very loved up couple.
Enter, unexpected pregnancy!! Lexi is not sure how to deal with her news and with Emmett away working, finds her feelings and emotions running rampant! She has to tell Emmett, and is not sure how he will feel about becoming a dad! Yeh, no worries there...what Omega who has been in love with a woman for 5 years wouldn't be happy to have a baby with her!
And yep you guessed it!
Enter Aiden and Sloane. Two Alphas looking for a girl in a photograph, at the age of 18, when she and her sister were reported as missing!
A brilliant way to weave this story together as both Omegas are wary of all Alphas, and are quite happy to be on their own. They don't need or want a pack!
The story evolves as Aiden and Sloane fight to get their Omegas to listen to their story and to allow them to court them!!
Hehe, Sloane is hilarious, letting his mouth run away from him...his banter is off the charts funny as Aiden tries and fails to keep him in check.
Scent matched to the two Omegas means that there is no going home without them, and if it means moving to Widows Peak just to be with them, then they plan to do that too!
Helping their Omegas heal from past traumas goes a long way in making them feel loved up and the most important people in their Alphas lives!
Brilliant story all round and a HEA for the newly formed pack of Alphas, Aiden and Sloane and Omega's Lexi and Emmett and their baby, Evangaline!

OVERALL:
This book is just the perfect start to begin this standalone connected series. Lexi’s story is just the beginning of a great series.
Lexi and her sister are runaways from a bad foster home at age 18. They get kidn@pped and from there is when stuff really starts to piece together. Her twin, her and a group of women escape and find themselves in a abandoned little town that they make into a safe place for Omega’s trying to safer start from what life delt them. Go a few years in and this is where we get to meet Emmett who is 19 years old and heard of this safe little place. He finds it and the minute he sets his eyes on Lexi, he is head over hills in love and knows she is his. Yes she is older but omg, fast forward about 5 yrs and They finally get to be with each other after years of friend ship. I spice is spicing.
Now here comes Sloane who right away I love love love (NEW FAV MMC) and his lover Aiden. These alphas are in this town looking for a runaway, well guess what, they scent match to both Lexi and Emmett and I just wanted to crawl into this book and just be right there.

This is defiantly a top 5 new fav book. 10/10 Recommend.

Lexi and her twin sister, Silva, were taken by Gideon’s men, from an abandoned home to be groomed to be the perfect omega for alpha packs.

Three years later, the two sisters and four other omegas made a plan to escape the night of a gala Gideon was hosting for the girls to be bought. The six women hiked to an abandoned town called Widows Peak in Colorado.

Five years later, Emmett leaves his job in Utah and goes to Widows Peak where he befriends Lexi, while secretly being in love with her.

Another five years later, Sloane and Aiden arrived in Widows Peak in search of Lexi and her sister. Aiden was an FBI agent and was on the case of the missing sisters. He fixated on Lexi to the point of obsession. Sloane was an investigator when he met Aiden and shortly after, he went to work for Aiden in a special forces team.

When Lexi runs into Sloane and Aiden, she finds out that she’s scent matched to the both of them and when Lexi’s best friend and new partner, Emmett, comes back from out of town, he finds out that he is as well as the alpha’s scent match.

Lexi has a hard time trusting alphas, but bit by bit, she begins trusting Sloane and Aiden. She’s feisty and independent, and I enjoyed her character. I liked how her relationship with Emmett, differs from her relationship with both Sloane and Aiden. Each men brings different things to their relationship that I enjoyed.

I loved Sloane! He’s my absolute favorite of this book! He’s so protective, possessive, and funny. He has no filter whatsoever, but knows when to be serious for the most part. And he likes to get bloody. Aiden is serious, furiously protective and evens out some of Sloane’s crazy.

Feral Emmett was so hot! Completely different from his sweet and funny side. He helps around Widows Peak as well as neighboring communities.

I like that we got bits and pieces of some of the other women for the upcoming books in this series. I enjoyed all of the banter and fun Sloane brings to the pages. This is so, so spicy and I enjoyed every second of it!

Creating an Omega safe haven

Lexi and her sister Silva go through a lot while they are young. They run from a situation and are in hiding when they are captured into an even worse situation. However, they managed to band together with four other omegas and escape into the Colorado mountains. In search of a new place to live. They find an abandoned town and decide to make it home. Widows peak is now a thriving town that is a safe place for all omegas. Everyone is vetted before entering. 

Emmett is a 19 year old male Omega who has been working at a club and forced to do things he never wanted to do but had to have money to survive. When he heard rumors of a safe haven in Colorado. He hoped they were true. Packing up in his junk vehicle he set out from Utah in hopes of something better. 

Lexi and Emmett met when he first arrived and became the best of friends.  when one night changes everything they realize it didn't really change anything because they've loved each other for a long time. They share everything with each other. They both have a distrust of men and especially of Alphas. 

Enter Aiden and Sloan. These men have been searching for Lexi and Silva for a long time. However, they never would have expected to be sent matched to not only Lexi but also Emmett. These men come in gentle and patient and willing to do anything for their omegas to be comfortable and it's absolutely beautiful. 

This book is sweet and tender in the middle of pure hate and darkness. The traumas they have endured led them to everything they deserved and more. 

I love the different personalities of all of the characters we met. They all have such different personalities and are all so protective. This includes side characters that I'm sure we'll see again in future books.

I honestly can't wait to see what else happens in this series because I love the premise of a safe haven built by traumatized Omegas.

Five years later, an omega named Emmett escapes the dangerous situation he's in, and seeks refuge in Widows Peak. He meets Lexi there and he's instantly drawn to her - and while he does fall in love with her, they become best friends for years. Another five years later... Lexi and Emmett decide to start a relationship - while at the same time, an Alpha couple, Aiden and Sloane, show up in Widows Peak looking for Lexi and Silva. Aiden was an FBI agent and had been assigned Lexi's missing person case over 10 years ago, but he was drawn to her case and couldn't let it go. Turns out, Aiden and Sloane are both scent matched to Lexi... and Emmett. 😍

I really really loved this book. It had so many tropes that I can't get enough of: hurt/comfort, surprise pregnancy, why choose with MM, scent matches/fated mates, found family, best friends to lovers. For all the darker and grittier topics that get touched on, like trafficking and kidnapping, it was honestly SUCH a sweet book. Lexi and Emmett were absolutely adorable - I love how protective they were of each other, and how they're able to help each other heal from all their past trauma. The best friends to lovers hits HARD with them, they're just perfect for each other. And then adding in Aiden and Sloane? The obsessiveness and protectiveness? Psycho golden retriever vibes? I'm done.

I got through the entire book in one day - there's plenty of action and spice, so it honestly just flew by. I appreciated the little sneak peeks we got of Silva's pack, so I'm excited for her story next.

What I really loved most was the emotional journey—watching the Omegas slowly realize that not all Alphas are monsters… and that love, safety, and trust can coexist. They don’t have to choose between strength and softness. They can have both.

Despite some of the darker themes, it's very sweet on page with most of the trauma Lexi and the Widows have faced happening off page. This covers both insta-love and slowburn although due to the timejumps the pacing remains pretty steady once it gets going. The plot focuses on Lexi forming her pack and overcoming her trust issues towards Alphas after being groomed as young adult.

Lexi and Emmett are very cute together and I loved their devotion to each other. Sloane was probably my favourite with his no filter responses; his reaction to feral Emmett was definitely one of my highlights. I enjoyed that it was his heat we saw which was a nice change rather than it being Lexi's. Rounding out the pack is Aiden but I felt he was lost a little in the mix compared to the other two MMCs and although I liked his character, I found myself wanting to know more about him like why he took Sloane's name or even a call with Harlan to see how he interacted outwith his pack.

As this is a shared universe, we meet a few of the other Widows and although it did leave me feeling there were a couple of gaps at certain points, I suspect these will be fleshed out in some of the other books. I found this particularly with the twins as Lexi seems closer to Briar who felt more prevalent than Silva but it looks like Silva's story is running concurrently which probably explains it across the series.

My interpretation of the star system;

4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Lexi was so much fun to read — even with the darker themes, I absolutely flew through it.

The story does start off heavy, with Lexi and her sister enduring so much trauma before finally escaping and finding freedom. I loved the idea of them helping to create a safe town for omegas — it felt hopeful and powerful after everything they’d been through. This is where Lexi meets Emmett, a male omega searching for safety, and honestly… these two were adorable. Their friends-to-lovers journey was incredibly sweet and made my heart happy.

Then we meet the alphas, Sloane and Aidan — an established couple searching for their omega, who just so happens to be Lexi. And wow, I fell in love with this entire pack. The banter, the chemistry, the dynamic between all of them was just chef’s kiss. Sloane was hands down my favourite character (though they were all fantastic). His quips and remarks had me laughing out loud, and Emmett’s first heat scene was genuinely hilarious — I could not stop laughing.

Yes, there are darker themes woven through the story, but it’s also filled with so much love, humour, and heart. Did I read it in one sitting? Yes. Yes, I absolutely did 😁 And I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the Beware of the Widows shared world.

Never broken

A dark why choose omegaverse with wonderful MM.
We also have an omega female and an omega male who fall in love — which I absolutely loved!

This is a story where omegas are, unfortunately, easily hurt by others and they need to fight against those who want to control them
Still, they find a way to fight back against those who try to mistreat them and create a safe place.

At the beginning, the story presents past events in a somewhat fast-paced way. These moments leave me with feelings of injustice and indignation, but they also give me important context, helping me understand what motivates the characters and how they think in the present.
After all, we are partly shaped by our past, but that doesn’t mean we can’t overcome the evil that tried to take root.

This is an incredibly powerful and emotional story — a true rollercoaster for the senses.
One moment it makes you feel sad, the next it makes you blush with the high heat, only to remind us in the following scene that trauma is something that stays with us. And then, suddenly, it makes us laugh so hard we cry at the antics of characters whose personalities are as complex as they are exciting.

The connections are both strong and passionate, and the alphas bring so much fun and energy to the plot.
Simply outstanding!

Because the story contains heavy situations, I recommend checking the TW before starting this journey.

Since this is, thankfully, an interconnected series, we will almost certainly see these spectacular characters again — at least, I really hope so, because I’m not ready to say goodbye to them yet.
I can’t wait for the next book.

If you don’t know me, I’m obsessed with omegaverse stories, especially involving two omegas but when it’s by my favorite author, I just know it’s going to be so amazing. I really don’t know what she be putting in these books because each book I read gets better and better.

First off, this book had be giggling probably about 80% of the book. It had so many funny moments and it was so worth it.

I loved how Lexi, her sister and a few other girls escaped and pretty much built a town from scratch. Like how cool is that?!

I really loved Emmett from the moment he meets Lexi and her sister. He is just the sweetest cinnamon ever. What got me was he always did his best alone instead with other people because of how deep his feelings for her were. If that’s not love, then I don’t know what is.

Sloane and Aiden are the perfect alphas for Lexi and Emmett. These two would do anything for their omegas. Also, their own relationship is so freaking cute and it’s all because of how adorable Sloane is. This man is slightly crazy hit gosh, how can you not love him?

I was dying laughing when Aiden drew on his face. I swear this man.

I was so happy that in the end that both Emmett and Lexi got revenge on the man they hurt them, and boy, that was a plot twist. I loved how we get to see both of them grow and to really find their safe space in their pack.

Lexi (Beware of the Widows) by Alisha Williams

Such an amazing book by one of my favourite authors and I'm already looking forward to Book 2.

Lexi is a conflicted character. Orphaned with her sister Silva they end up in foster care before escaping after a traumatic experience with an alpha leaves Lexi despising them. They run and find shelter in an abandoned home only to be kidnapped by a ruthless gang. They are taken to a mansion where they are forced to learn what an alpha wants and to become the perfect Omega. Three years later, on their "debut" night the 6 girls manage to escape and eventually set up home in what will become Widow's Peak, a place of refuge for omegas.

Lexi eventually falls for another omega, Emmett and finds out she's pregnant just as a group of alphas arrive in their town. Aiden and his partner/lover Sloane have been searching for Lexi and Silva since they disappeared from foster care many years previously. They were originally FBI agents but now worked on their own with Aiden's brother Harlan and other alphas.

Aiden and Sloane turn out to be both Lexi and Emmett's scent matches and we see them falling for each other as the story builds where Aiden and Sloane go after Lexi's foster brother and then, together, the six women and their alphas and Emmett go after Gideon and the trafficking gang releasing more omegas and providing a very satisfying death scene.

Definitely recommend.

I absolutely loved Lexi's story! It definitely has some darker moments and background, but it is overall a very sweet omegaverse with amazing characters.

Lexi is the first book in the Beware of the Widows shared universe and Alisha Williams knocked it out of the park! Lexi went through so much and had a really difficult past, but her story was so adorable. Emmett was smitten as soon as he saw her and their relationship progression was so good even if it was a little abbreviated with the time jump. It was so cute how they were completely obsessed with each other and transitioned from friendship to romance. The introduction of Sloane and Aiden was so funny. I really enjoyed how Lexi stood up for herself even through her fear and distrust of alphas in general. I also thought that Aiden and Sloane were absolutely perfect. Their personalities were so distinct and fun together. They really understood each other and were dedicated to each other as well as to their newly found scent matches. Sloane was definitely a bit like an overexcited puppy at times, but his unpredictability was hilarious. Aiden on the other hand was a little more steady and dependable, but also knew how to let loose and have fun. Lexi and Emmett definitely got the love they deserved and I cannot wait to read more of this series!

I LOVE the concept of Widow's Peak. A small town for omegas that want to escape the world, or recover from trauma, or just be omegas without the fear of Alpha's exerting their control? Definitely a unique OV world in that sense, and I am honestly so keen for the other book in the series.

This one hit hard. Heed those warnings, please. But I think it's because of how hard Lexi's past hits, that makes her journey to finding her pack that more beautiful and wholesome and wonderful (even if there were still dark moments scattered through the book).

I absolutely loved the relationship with Emmett - something about two omegas loving each other makes me smile and giddy. I also really enjoyed Emmett's personality, especially how it changed with his heat (another unique take that I hadn't read before this one) - and I loved the best friends to lovers aspect.

Aiden and Sloane (but lets face it, mostly Sloane) had me in hysterics through the book, and I love that the two Alpha's were so distinct, but also worked perfectly together as lovers and as colleagues, balancing each other.

Deliciously spicy, wonderfully heart-warming as you read of trauma-healing, and emotionally captivating, I really enjoyed this one, and can't wait to read the books of the other Widow's we get introduced to through the book.

Their strength isn’t loud or performative; it’s quiet, feral, and earned. Watching Lexi wrestle with trust, something she has every reason to withhold, while still daring to want more had my heart in a chokehold.

The emotional tension is deliciously dark, especially as desire, fear, and hope collide. Emmett’s bond with Lexi is tender and aching, and the arrival of Aiden and Sloane adds a dangerous, intoxicating edge. These men don’t demand trust....they earn it, step by step, and that makes every moment crackle with intensity. Add in the shared scent matches, the looming threat of the past, and the fragile miracle of new life, and this story becomes a heady mix of passion, vulnerability, and raw need.
