Sami Lawson’s scars run deep, and she trusts no one. Ever since her mother abandoned her family when she was ten, Sami has watched her father grow cold and bitter from a broken heart. The one question she cannot shake Where is God through all this? To her wounded heart, the only answer she can find He is not. As Sami gets to know Chase, her walls start to come down, which frightens her. Can she trust this man who seems so sincere? Or will he abandon her just like her mother did? After hearing rumors about Sami, Chase Townsend expected a “man-eater” of a woman, especially with a nickname like “Wild Cat.” Instead, he is stunned by the beauty with the sparkling blue eyes. However, Chase quickly figures out that something has happened to Sami, and he has to decide if he is willing to try to help her overcome her bitterness or if he should just let the “Wildcat” be. Because of Chase’s deep trust in God, and his strong perseverance streak, he makes it his mission to show Sami that God loves her and, only He can heal her broken past. Now that Chase has made it his business to witness to Sami, he finds himself falling in love. Will his heart be broken when Sami pushes him away?
I love this so much!!! I wish that the side characters had a books of their own.
Chase Townsend is now my most favorite Christian book boyfriend ever!!! He has amazing qualities. Chase is always patient, kind, protective, hard working, dependable and honest with Sami!
Sami's mom left her family when she was a young girl. Sami also was attacked by someone who had worked on her father's ranch, so Sami doesn't trust any man.
Some of the outcomes/parables in this story seem to be the "ideal in a God world" so made a different read. The guy worked out that the girl pushed love away because she felt undeserved as her mother left n she openly admitted she had trust issues. He also had a father who left his family but he worked at keeping the family unit together to help each other. The relationships around the ranch seemed good from family n workers. What we see with our eyes is not the whole truth but assumption gets us in trouble. How to love n receive love is a learning curb for all of us as some are more damaged than others.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again--I love hunky cowboy heroes. I enjoyed reading Sami's story as she struggled through pain, unforgiveness, and wrong beliefs about herself and about God. While there are several mistakes (I never could figure out if Stardust was a mare or a gelding), it doesn't detract from the enjoyment I received from this story. I couldn't wait to get back to it every time I had to do something else.
I received this book from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked the storyline of this book. I do feel like it was rushed though. In the beginning, the author speaks about Sami being cold and hardened because of the past hurts. Yet it was a week later that she was falling for Chase. I would have loved to read more about God using Chase to help break down the walls. It takes more time than that. I would have read the book even if it was much longer with the same storyline.
I really liked the hero, Chase; however, he said one time he wouldn't fall for Sami because she was not a Christian, but then nothing else was said about it. He did witness to her, but he also made no attempt to avoid falling in love with her. Sami was so bristly it was a wonder Chase found her so attractive, but she had been hurt badly in the past. Things worked out as you would expect in a Christian romance.
What a good story from start to finish Like a true and working ranch all characters are true and what the problems are is common to all However when a new man comes along the people do not know how much it will change the whole plot. A very good Christian story without being t
When reading this book makes sure you have tissues. Your heart will break for Sami time after time as she deals with the ever changing things that are called life. Chase is a God fearing man who has faith that all will turn out, even when it seems otherwise. Will these two ever see eye to eye? Will Sami ever forgive the past?
This book touched me so very much. I found myself in each turn a and cried more reading this book more than any other book I have read . Thank you for righting such a good book can't what for more.
Sami was hurt when her mother left their family when she was 10, and since then she hasn't trusted anyone, even if she wanted to, can her new neighbor change her heart?
Good story about learning from the past, and putting your it behind you to be a better person.
This Christian romance has so many areas that people have to learn to forgive or to let go. It had an amazing father-daughter relationship and a strong mother-son relationship that made me fall in love with the characters...
Easy read, with the emphasis on clean romance. There's no worry of coming across a sudden shift into hardcore descriptions or language like there is in some romance genre. The cowboy - cowgirl theme was a nice change from what I usually read.
Well written...just enough twists & turns...not too cheesy or wordy... called my husband at work to remind him how much I love him (married 46 yrs)! KEEP WRITING!
