Welcome to the sensual world of the Lupine, where the burning drive to mate claims all...
Desperate to free her family from their evil alpha, curvy werewolf Alexa Grant sells her virginity in a private auction. Alexa has heard nothing good about Jeremiah Jackson Taylor, the ruthless and cold Lupine who purchased her innocence. She’d rather experience passion with J.J., the sexy and handsome cowboy who stole her heart when she worked at Aiden Mitchell’s Montana ranch.
Alexa doesn’t know J.J. is Jeremiah Jackson Taylor, the mysterious billionaire ranch owner who bought her for one night to rescue her from her pack. Determined to prevent another man from touching Alexa, J.J. will tutor her in the erotic pleasures of lovemaking. But when it becomes clear someone at the ranch knows his secret and is trying to pull them apart, J.J. knows he must step out in trust and tell Alexa the truth, or risk losing her forever…
Bonnie Vanak fell in love with romance novels during childhood. While cleaning a hall closet, she discovered her mother’s cache of paperbacks and started reading. Thus began a passion for romance and a lifelong dislike for housework.
After years of newspaper reporting, Bonnie became a writer for a major international charity. She travels to destitute countries such as Haiti to write about famine, disease and other issues affecting the poor. When the emotional strains of her job demanded a diversion, she turned to her childhood dream of writing romance novels.
She lives in Florida with her husband Frank and two dogs, where she happily writes books amid an ever-growing collection of dust bunnies.
This was a free Amazon book and I'm glad, if I'd had to pay for this crap I wouldn't have been happy.
Like I said in my updates, the lead woman (only finished the book last night and I've already forgot her name, what does that say?) is horrible and very unlikeable. I thought I liked the lead guy but he put up with the woman's shite so I kinda don't like him for that purpose.
Don't think I'll be reading anymore in this series.
Loved the story of JJ and Alexa. He's a billionaire werewolf with a secret, that has people thinking he's arrogant and selfish and Alexa has had to sell her virginity to the highest bidder to get away from the cruel alpha her and her family belong to. The twist is the story of 2 people keeping secrets and how a lack of trust gets in the way. Surprises throughout with both Tristan and Xavier making an appearance, another great story added to this series. Can't wait for the next story.
Well, this wasn't a promising start, but I had the same problem with the actual Werewolves of Montana series and it did improve further in. I'll try a few more and cross my fingers. This intersects the Montana series, as we do see the Mitchell Pack pretty briefly. Alexa Grant spent a month escaping her awful alpha by cooking at the Mitchell Ranch. There she met J.J. and they kinda fell in love...he certainly fell in lust. Well, Alexa's alpha is demanding payback of money or he's going to starve her and her family, so she offers up for sale the only thing she owns - her virginity. J.J. being the opportunist that he is, takes her up on that (but also so no one else will...he doesn't want to share her). But he uses his billionaire business identity, Jeremiah Taylor, so Alexa has no idea that the guy she's crushing on has just purchased her. When J.J. escorts her around his ranch, she thinks he's just a foreman and that she's going to have to offer up her virginity to the stranger who purchased it. And J.J. isn't about to tell her just yet. He doesn't know if he can trust her...so he'll keep her in suspense until he can.
God but both of these characters irritated me. Mostly it was J.J. that needed a swift kick in the balls, but Alexa was a bit irritating too. I think the worst of it was that these two talk to each other, but I swear neither of them are listening or clarifying. Alexa keeps trying to explain that she's feeling awful that she's about to become a prostitute (by definition she is) and she's really upset that she saved herself for love and now is going to give it up to a stranger. J.J. keeps responding that "Jeremiah" is a great guy and she'll be fine. Which doesn't even begin to address what she's upset about. And Alexa seems to accept that answer as though it DID answer her complaint. Or if she's confused, she doesn't bother pointing it out.
And I'm sorry, but J.J. was a slime-bag of epic proportions. He seemed nice, but his underlying actions spell it all out. Everytime Alexa maligns Jeremiah for BUYING her virginity like she's a stock on the market, J.J. points out that she's the one who sold herself. But that's completely ignoring the fact that she had no other options. Alexa makes a good point that he could have payed off her loan or given her a job or something, but he quickly brushes that aside. She fails to point out that he could have just been honest (even without putting his heart on the line). He could have been straightforward about what he was doing and why and put the ball in her court with whether she wanted to give him her virginity. Or he could have opted not to take her virginity. Instead, he puts her through actual trauma because he's not sure if he can trust her...and it's not like there's enough reason for him to think he can't. She cries, she has nightmares and to make matters worse she's falling in love with "J.J." and expresses how upset she is that HE can't be her first...and how much it hurts her. Meanwhile, he's waxing poetic about how he'd never hurt her and his deception is actually hurting her. Most especially when, after he's let her believe that his beta is actually Jeremiah, he brings her into a dark room so she can't see him, seduces her and elicits a pretty powerful response then walks away like she doesn't mean anything to him. He treats her like the whore she believes she is. And of course there's the epic guilt since she just found a great deal of pleasure with a man who isn't' J.J. (who, remember, she's falling in love with). So that's a pretty shitty move.
The hero dug himself into a nice big hole. And when the big reveal came, the heroine's anger was nice at first, but was not quite grand enough considering his actions and the sheer size of his deception. And of course everyone else on the ranch blames HER and her pride for their maybe not having an HEA. It's not HIS fault of course. I'll admit that J.J. ends up proving his love pretty well, but he didn't apologize enough and he didn't grovel enough and she forgave him for all of that agony after 12 hours. Then the villain comes along and all is revealed and I wonder, if Mr. Villain was really a changeling and Rafe could know it by his scent, then how did this changeling inhabit this person's body for over 12 years without anyone ever knowing it? Hmmm.
So plenty to irritate in this one and one pretty big loophole there at the end. On the bright side, I did really appreciate the inclusion of a hero with a stutter, as that's a rarity out here in HPlandia...especially in the paranormal realm of things. Also kinda curious about Rafe's story, despite the fact that he was a bit of an ass in this story. Also, I wish this author would please stop using the word "jettison" as though it means "ejaculate." It doesn't.

Alexa is a wolf who is still a virgin. She sells her virginity to the highest bidder hoping that the money can free her from her tyrannical pack leader, Daniel. J.J. is a businessman with three different names that conjure up three different personalities. The businessman, Jeremiah, the young man who raised himself up from the poor cousin to Daniel, Juan, and the cowboy that works to assure his pack is always taken care of, J.J. J.J. likes Alexa so his Jeremiah side bits her virginity so that he can be the only one that has her and so that she would consider to being his mate. Everything goes as planned but then it doesn’t. When the truth comes out on who he is Alexa is not happy but Daniels next set of actions change everything. In the end everyone has a different mind set and things turn into a solution you would normally never see coming.
This is steamy story of seduction by an male alpha wolf to a sensuous female wolf who is still a virgin. Alexa has always had it in her mind to not have sex until she met her mate. While she was working as a cook at a ranch other than her packs, she met JJ. Their attraction was off the charts but she sold her virginity in an auction to an alpha with a hard reputation. She did this to save her family from the evil alpha of her pack. Will she get her happily after with JJ? This book will keep you on edge.
This was my 2nd read of Bonnie's "mini" and I found it just as delightful the second time around. This author can create a world that you honest-to-goodness believe is real! You know there's a HEA ahead, but you are never sure just how Bonnie's going to get her hero/heroine there. A page turner and a fun read!
I downloaded Seduction as a free book from Amazon. Not really a fan of this book. Alexa got herself into this situation, so it seemed childish to blame JJ /Jeremiah as some evil guy taking advantage. Too much repetition-- the book had potential of the author developed the backgrounds and story even more, but wasted time with hand wringing and complaining ever few pages about how much she disliked the alpha (she never met), and quite frankly, it was strange she never listened to the people in the pack who spoke fondly of the alpha. Add in spelling errors and a weird ending and I just didn't feel caught up in the story.
the writing wasn't awful or anything, but it was way more overwrought than i was in the mood for. Lots of idiocy to go around, but there was a lot of potential here. some interesting ideas reared their heads, there were some good supporting characters...I'm not going to say I loved this story, because I didn't. but it did whet my appetite. I'm interested in reading more from this author. okay for Aayesha
Seduction is the first book in this series where we meet she-wolf, Alexa selling her virginity to save her family from the evil alpha of her pack. An easy read, slow in places, a standalone with secondary characters for future books, strongish leads, sex scenes during the latter half and fantastical weird happenings in between. Ok and free.
I loved this storyline! It was complex with emotional depth and fully developed characters. The plot was tightly strung with steady action and unexpected twists that will shock you when it hits. This is a complete book with a HEA and enough complexity to keep the reader invested to the end.
I'm unsure of what to say about this book, the writing style is average and the use of complex vocabulary is not seen often. The plot line is basic with some thrills but the ending is extremely weird. I will not spoil the end, but I will say how disappointed I was with the rushed and quite frankly completely fucked up end to what could have been a great book.
I love this whole series. This book keeps you turning pages and cheering for jj. I like how characters from other books come back into the new book. Can't wait for the next one.
I love Bonnie Vanak's Werewolves of Montana novels and minis. Hot Shape-Shifter men and the women they will do anything for. True Love, Fate and soul mates. Amazing story lines and characters. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
What would you do when you find out after auctioning off your virginity, and find out it's some billionaire you loath? Well I'm not saying, I can't if I do it would spoil the whole story. Right!!!????
I was surprised with what is discovered and so JJ. So many twist and turns, something evil is surrounding the ranch and it's pretty intense.
Then you have Alexa, she is hot for JJ but unfortunately she has to save herself for the terrible Jeremiah. She hates him with a passion, but a deal is a deal after all, and she is trying to be free of her alpha Daniel, and protect her family.
It is suspenseful, erotic, lot's of romance, action, lies, deceit, and shame. I really liked this story. I can't wait for the next one to come out.
