Felicia's Favorites: A Novel

Rate this book
A mother bestows a life-changing legacy on her five adult daughters in this profoundly moving novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Danielle Steel.

After the unexpected death of their mother, Felicia Morgan Weston, her five daughters are summoned to a historic Connecticut farmhouse for the reading of her will. Still reeling from shock, they hear revelations that will potentially change their lives—and they realize there was much more to their mother than they ever knew.

Charlotte, the oldest, always resented her mother’s advice, but now misses her terribly. An entrepreneur and single mother, she doesn’t dare hope for a second chance at love.

Although content with her career as a TV producer and her life with her partner in Greenwich Village, Quinne is about to have an opportunity to dream bigger.

Former ballet dancer Olivia has lived as a paraplegic since a car accident twelve years ago. Refusing to be a burden, she has denied herself the love of her life.

Despite her mother’s disapproval, Veronica resigned herself to a secret relationship with an ambitious married senator.

Happily married mother of three Isabelle has just found out that her husband is having an affair with his much younger intern.

Each sister is about to receive a gift beyond her wildest dreams from their very private but loving mother, who considered all her girls her favorites. Danielle Steel’s new novel is a moving testament to the power of a mother’s love and the importance of fully embracing life.

I haven’t read a DS book since the 90’s, and now I remember why. Her characters are ridiculous. The mother is a saint, and the daughters are kind of pathetic. The men are either 100% losers or 100% angelic beings. Charlotte undergoes a complete personality overhaul, and I would like to tell the others, “Snap out of it! Don’t you have even a shred of self worth?” Okay, rant over…did not like the book at all.

One of her Best Books

I have read every single DS books. Over the past couple of years they are much shorter and not always as interesting as her previous books. This one is the exception. Just when I think I’ve read every story she could imagine, a new one pops up that is just amazing. I loved this book. The development of the characters is outstanding. Heart-warming story filled with lots of surprises along the way

You know what? I really liked this book. Sure, it was predictable, but I read it in one sitting and enjoyed it a lot. It made me smile and feel happy. With all that's happening in the world, I'll take that as a win.

So, the book is about this woman, Felicia Morgan Weston. After she passes away, her five daughters get called to this old Connecticut farmhouse to hear her will. They're still trying to process everything, and then they start hearing these crazy revelations that could totally change their lives. Turns out, their mom had way more going on than they ever knew - she kept tons of secrets! It was really fun to read .

Charlotte, being the oldest, always rolled her eyes at her mom's advice, but now she misses her like crazy. As an entrepreneur and single mom, she doesn't even dare to dream of finding love again.

Queenie , who's happy with her TV-producing gig and living with her boyfriend in Greenwich Village, is about to get a chance to aim higher.

Olivia used to be a ballet dancer until a car crash left her paralyzed 12 years ago. She's been pushing away the love of her life because she doesn't want to be a burden.

Veronica, despite her mom not approving, ended up in a secret relationship with a married senator who's super ambitious.

Isabelle, the happily married mom of three, just found out her husband is cheating with his much younger intern.

Each sister is in for a surprise - their private but loving mom, who treated all her girls like favorites, is giving each of them an amazing gift they never expected!

Felicia Morgan Weston, widow and mother to five grown daughters dies unexpectedly and now the women are meeting with their mother's lawyer about her estate. When the women learn about their inheritance they are stunned. It seems that none of them really knew their mother as well as they thought. The reader learns more about each of the women and how this windfall changes their lives. This is a fast read and entertaining. I gave this book 4.6 stars as I enjoyed it and it was entertaining.

A Masterpiece

Ms. Steel has done it again. When we think about love we know that a Mother’s love is unconditional. This book proves that point. Felicia’s love are her beautiful and sweet daughters and they loved her just as much. It’s a feel good story that is a must read.
