***ARC Review***
A Doll’s Curse is splatterpunk horror that doesn’t hold back—bloody, twisted, and delightfully unhinged. Nicolasa DeSantiago takes the classic “creepy doll” trope and cranks it up to eleven, delivering a tale that’s as gory as it is addictive.

Pin, the possessed doll, is pure chaos incarnate, dragging every drop of gore and madness out of Belinda in the most jaw-dropping ways. The pacing is sharp, the kills are wild, and the atmosphere drips with menace. It’s the kind of story that makes you eye your shelves a little differently afterward (especially if you own dolls). Horror fans with a strong stomach—grab a mop and enjoy the mess.

Okay first.. EWWW Nancy with Betsy at the start, 🤮 no ma’am!

This is a creepy one, it begins with the parents and the path to becoming parents to their baby girl Belinda. On the night of their baby shower, a mysterious gift is left at their door. Inside the box, a doll whom Belinda eventually names Pin.
A few years later and the strangest of things occur within the family home.

I couldn’t stand Nancy, she really irritated me throughout the book.

A Doll’s Curse is so thoroughly detailed, you audibly squirm at different things going on. It’s dark, fantastically written and without a doubt one of my faves of the NULL series. That ending, I can’t wait for the last book to find out what’s going to happen!!!

Thank you to Nicolasa for allowing me to adv read A Doll’s Curse!

Doll’s Curse was glorious, gory, unnerving, and dripping in pure, unapologetic revenge.

Nightmares on Lull Lane continues to be one of the most hauntingly brilliant series I’ve ever read, and this installment just proves it further. This one stands out, it leans more into narration, but oh, it’s done exquisitely. The storytelling, the imagery, the sheer atmosphere, everything bleeds perfection. The gore and horror are so vivid, so masterfully written, that you can see it play out like a cinematic nightmare.

Unlike the others, this book doesn’t have a central FMC or MMC, but it doesn’t lose a single drop of power because of it. The story itself is the character, it breathes, it weeps, it rages. The plot threads are tightening beautifully; you can feel everything leading toward Savannah’s grand, vengeful crescendo. Every chapter is a piece of the puzzle falling into place, and I cannot wait to see her revenge ignite in full.

And honestly? Through every book, every chilling moment, you’ll find yourself rooting for the Dolls, the children, and Savannah, because they’re the broken, the wronged, the ones who finally get to rise.

This series is dark magic, poetic, twisted, and completely addictive. If you haven’t started Nightmares on Lull Lane yet… you’re missing out on something truly unforgettable.

Book 5 in the Nightmares on Lull Lane

A splatterpunk-horror novella. Belinda had always been happiest with her own company, well herself and her doll Pin.
She took her everywhere, spent hours with only her. Their story together began to take on a more sinister level and left behind was…

𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝑜𝓃𝑔 𝒸𝒶𝓂𝑒 𝓃𝒶𝓉𝓊𝓇𝒶𝓁𝓁𝓎, 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝓈𝒽𝑒 𝒽𝒶𝒹 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌𝓃 𝒾𝓉 𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓃𝑔.

Loved it, the writing was unique and Nicolasa brought in so many macabre elements that I found worked so well within the story (kinda says a lot about me 🤫😈) If you have any triggers please do read them‼️

Belinda and her Doll Pin are best friends. Creating bloody/horror revenge that will keep you turning the pages.
Nicolasa's writing, wonderfully brings to life all the bloody gore and horror/revenge that Pin's unhinged personality creates for Belinda to carry out.
These stories keep getting better and better. Please check TW before reading. Otherwise enjoy this Horror/Revenge Novella filled with twisted, bloody grotesque gore and delightfully unhinged story. I Loved it 🖤🖤🖤

This one was a little bit more different. I give them all five stars. I just I was a little shocked a little bit. The parents in this one didn’t necessarily seem phased by the doll and seemed so in love that it was a little different The dog spoke in a different language and the daughter spoke that language to and the father is Hispanic so they just don’t know. They didn’t believe this girl until the last second and boy was a good check them trigger warnings.

Thank you to Nicolasa Desantiago for allowing me to read an eARC of A Doll’s Curse. These opinions are my own.

I think these are getting more horrific and gorey as we make our way through the series!!!

Your triggers have triggers with this one. But if you’re into creepy dolls making you do weird and dark and twisted things in the name of revenge and female rage, this is for you!!!

Whoo! Belinda and Pin's story was full of gore and chaos. Belinda was always a weird and quiet child. She would rather be alone with her doll Pin than being anywhere else. Soon Pin starts to influence Belinda into getting Savannah's revenge.

⚠️ READ THIS IF YOU DARE ⚠️
A Descent into Pure Chaos Listen up.

A DOLL’s CURSE by Nicolasa DeSantiago
BOOK # 5 in the NIGHTMARE ON LULL LANE SERIES

SPLATTERPUNK NOVELLA

PARENTS: Antonio and Camille
Daughter: Belinda

DOLL: PIN

You need to know what you’re getting into with this book. It's told from multiple POVs, but it kicks off with Antonio and right there, based off how it starts, you know it’s gonna be dark. Antonio, who, along with his now wife Camille, participated in the brutal assault of Savannah and the beating of Tripp from book one.

After that truly messed up beginning, we jump to Camille's pregnancy. At the baby shower, we meet Pin (short for Doll Pin Pon), and trust me, they are a key player in the coming chaos.

When their daughter, Belinda, is born, Antonio has this incredibly delusional moment. He’s holding his baby and thinks:

"Holding his daughter and looking at her perfect tiny toes made him forget all the bad that had ever happened in his life, and all the bad things he’d ever done. She was his token of redemption, his new beginning.”

HA! I literally was thinking, “Your redemption, huh? We'll see about that." And spoiler alert: we do see. Antonio hasn't changed at all. He’s still the same despicable pig he’s always been 😤.

This book is a nonstop, wild mix of gore, utter craziness, and straight up CHAOS. I was completely hooked, even while shaking my head. The concept of their sins coming back to haunt their child is terrifying, and this scene truly gave me the CHILLS:

"Now she could see the things Pin wanted her to see. Her father’s past. The deaths of her grandparents, and every monstrous thing her mother and father had ever done. Their sins were hers now, stitched into her skin like inherited scars. And they would pay for what they had tried to bury. They would pay for every scream they caused, and for every shadow of sorrow they left behind.”

And OOOOOMG!! WTF, Miss Nancy?!
Okay, but seriously, I need a therapy session just to unpack her character lol. WHY did we have to read about Miss Nancy and her Dog!? I’m not exaggerating, I nearly threw up reading that. 😩😂 Like, author, I'm here for the dark themes, but those scenes were just confusing, gross, and completely unnecessary. WTF?! 😂

Despite that bizarre, gag inducing detour, the sheer wildness of the side characters kept me reading. The sick, weird neighbor, the nanny Jenny (who, let's be real, got what she deserved), and I can't even talk about the dag gone squirrels 🐿️ like omg lol!

I know I’m all over the place with this review, but you’ll understand why once you read it! If you can handle extreme dark fiction and enjoy a story that is genuinely unhinged from start to finish, grab this. Just prepare to need a palate cleanser afterward .. no like seriously 😂 definitely loved this one!

AN EASY 5⭐️

pin was brutal! and she is my favourite doll so far! something about her draws me in & this story was my first 5 stars of the series!!

i even slowed down reading it so i could enjoy it! and belinda really delivered! her character has been my favourite to read so far,the brutality really came through in this and it lived up to erotic horror that is for sure, the author's style is my go to now i feel i would love to read their other work after this one! it was SO GREAT!

this story follows camille and antonio and to be honest i was waiting to see what revenge these two got,the revenge arc was quite simply my favourite! it was SO GOOD! camille is such a shitty character but the life they had,i'm actually glad that it wasn't like the others and wasn't just heartache for belinda (our main FMC)

let's do some ratings so i can explain :

characters??? 5⭐️ belinda is my favourite fmc so far & it was a joy to read this story from the child's perspective as a pose too the parents,we did also get the parents POV & it was a refreshing new take to see despite what happened years ago they weren't really villains (per say) but yet belinda felt so strongly about pin & pin was such a unique doll in this, just staying quiet and being an observer,i love that so much!! belinda has the best character development here and following her through her life was a joy (lol) and i tally really enjoyed seeing belinda from a baby up until 18,the way she reacted feels very relatable to be honest to most children who may have a rough family life!!

plot?? 5⭐️ the plot line of this is great,it feels super detailed and is super easy to follow!! it's paced great, although slower you also have a lot of great detail throughout and it really does keep you gripped throughout.. it is honestly really really great to read.. i loved reading this honestly! paced great, written great & honestly i have zero complaints!

spice & gore?? 🩸🩸🩸🩸more gore on this than spice,i can't actually recall any spice and i'm surprised i loved it so much with no spice & i'd say it's more horror! this one is GOREY! and belinda is now like chief of gore! brutality in so many ways!!! brutality from eating people too sewing people together and drinking blood😇

overall??? 5⭐️ can't even complain about this book in any capacity,i love it so much! an easy 5 & now going to find more of the authors work because if any of this is to go by.. i will LOVE their work!! writing in a perfect style, paced beautifully, horrific in all the best ways & the revenge was SO SWEET!! it is great!!

This is the 5th book in the Nightmare on Lull Lane series as well as my first read by the author, and let me tell you, this story did NOT disappoint. The morbid prologue grabs you from the start with the gruesome descriptions of his parents demises that has you wondering how this will connect to the rest of the story. The tension is built from the start and keeps gravitating you into the words on the pages, pacing you quicker until reaching the end. As a less than 100 page novella, a great single-sitting book full of thrills and chills.

Antonio likes to run but when he returns home one day, he finds his parents had been horrifically murdered. Years later, now expecting his first child with a high school sweetheart, he’s starting to experience odd things as an unnamed package shows up at the baby shower holding a porcelain doll inside. Soon, they have their baby, finding out that parenthood isn’t so easy. Years later, when the child has grown a little, she discovers the doll that they had forgotten about. But now, Belinda is having reoccurring nightmares ever since finding the doll and sleeping with it.

Now older, Belinda has not let go of the doll since she discovered it. Noticing her father’s intentions with the babysitter, she derives a plan to make her go away forever. But her parents believe it was an accident that took her life, not knowing an evil has been rising in their daughter. An evil that surrounds her through that doll she holds onto so dearly. An evil that knows the truth of what her parents did all those years ago.

This was a powerful yet pitch dark story of basically the coming of age of a killer that has elements similar to Curse of Chucky. Little girl finds doll. Doll is secretly evil. Doll tells her to do evil things. But the people that deserve it. As a first time read by the author, I was impressed with the plot. The story structure. And the characters. Unique take on the evil doll trope mixed with a Spanish lullaby.

Book Review: A Doll’s Curse

A Doll’s Curse marks the fifth installment in the Nightmares on Lull Lane series, and it wastes absolutely no time reminding readers why this collection thrives on shock and dread. The story opens with a gruesome death in the very first chapter, immediately setting a dark, relentless tone that carries through the rest of the book. This early brutality signals that this entry may be one of the most disturbing—and effective—of the series so far.

One of the strongest elements is the symbolism woven into the narrative, particularly the crow as a harbinger of death. Its appearance in the opening chapter subtly foreshadows the tragic fate of Antonio and Camille, adding an extra layer of tension for readers who catch the omen early on. The horror deepens as the story leans into familiar yet unsettling territory, evoking clear Chucky vibes with a possessed doll and the corruption of childhood innocence.

What truly sets A Doll’s Curse apart, however, is how far it pushes the gore and emotional horror. This installment feels noticeably more gruesome than previous entries, using visceral imagery to amplify the terror. A recurring theme throughout the series—parents meeting their ultimate demise through their own children—is especially potent here, making the horror feel both personal and inescapable. Overall, A Doll’s Curse stands out as one of the darkest and most disturbing stories on Lull Lane, proving that the series still has plenty of nightmares left to offer.

Nicolasa DeSantiago has done it— this unholy splatterpunk feast is grotesque, gluttonous, and soaked in the kind of horror that makes your stomach twist as your brain begs for more.

There were so many “what the actual hell am I reading” moments; each one followed immediately by, “why can’t I stop reading this?” That’s the DeSantiago effect: revulsion laced with obsession.

This story drags us by the hair through the cursed lineage of Camille and Tony’s offspring—Belinda and her beloved doll, Pin Pon (Peen Pown). And let me tell you, this duo makes The Omen look like a Sunday cartoon. Imagine Wednesday Addams stripped of her poise and drenched instead in rot, ritual, and the bone-rattling giggle of something not entirely human.

The gore here isn’t decoration, it’s poetry. Blood is spilled with purpose, vengeance is plated cold and slurped slow. Every scene sticks to the back of your mind, coagulated fear refusing to wash away.

If you want a crash course in the art of splatterpunk done right, and you like your horror fast, frightening, and foul, this novella is your sacrament.

A perfect bite-sized nightmare for spooky season… though, fair warning, you might not sleep until the next doll wakes.

A Doll’s Curse is book five in the Nightmares of Lull Lane series, written by Nicolasa DeSantiago. There are 11 books in this series; aside from the first and last books, they can be read in any order. They are standalones, but they do refer back to a central plot established in book one. All the books in the series are horror, and some may edge toward splatterpunk. All of the books are considered novellas. I love this concept a lot and look forward to reading the entire series!

In A Doll’s Curse, we are introduced to Belinda, the teenage daughter of Antonio and Camille. This book is told in multiple POVs, including the parents'. Belinda has always been a rather strange child, deeply attached to her doll, Pin. With Pin in her arms, she is unstoppable.

This book definitely leans more toward splatterpunk! Yesss! The author does not hold back on the gore and imagery. Between the squirrels, the nanny, and the neighbor, I was in splatterpunk heaven! Savannah got a winner here! LOL! This one is my favorite so far!

Thanks to Nicolasa DeSantiago for gifting me an eARC of A Doll’s Curse. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

!!READ TRIGGER WARNINGS!! This book is definitely more gore filled than the rest of the series so far. Please be aware that this is more horror/splatterpunk. There are definitely some very in your face scenes that will have you questioning wtf you are reading.

I did enjoy this novella. I am a big splatterpunk and horror fan though. I love when books try to push my boundaries. This book definitely tries to do that. I enjoyed most of the writing but did find that some of the slower parts felt a little disjointed at times. Making it not as smooth reading as other parts of the book that I felt I couldn’t put down. Funnily enough, for me, those parts that had me hooked were the more gore filled parts. I felt like it was a very good addition into this shared world series.

“Metal-tasting jelly blobs, popping like boba, in her mouth, she felt satisfied as the blood bathed around her buccal cavity.”

If you like your horror books with more gore and splatterpunk vibes, then you’ll enjoy this novella.
This is the first book I’ve read by Nicolasa DeSantiago and I will be looking to read more of her stuff.

**ARC REVIEW**

⚠️ Please check the trigger warnings before reading — YOU’VE BEEN WARNED! ⚠️

A Doll’s Curse by Nicolasa DeSantiago, the fifth book in the Nightmares on Lull Lane series, is a new chilling addition to this dark universe. This was my first time reading anything by DeSantiago, and it definitely won’t be my last.

This story delivers everything I love about horror: revenge, eerie dolls, and a growing sense of dread that keeps getting better (and creepier) with each installment. The writing is vivid and immersive, filled with gruesome, disturbing imagery that lingers long after you finish.

Beyond the horror elements, Belinda’s attachment to her doll, Pin, adds an unsettling emotional layer to the story. Watching how Belinda and Pin seek revenge was both shocking and strangely satisfying. Pin doesn’t hold back, and neither does this book.

If you’re looking for something dark, emotional, and deeply unsettling, I highly recommend this one—and the entire Nightmares on Lull Lane series!

Thank you to Nicolasa DeSantiago for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A Doll's Curse is the fifth book in the Nightmare's Of Lull Lane Shared World. This is a novella length splatterpunk horror tale with a good amount of violence. I highly recommend reading this shared world in order, each book is based on a different doll and lullaby, but there is one overall plot for the series, which makes reading in order necessary.
This was an interesting read, I am just not sure if it was good interesting or bad interesting. This story is written in third person POV, which is not a favorite of mine. This point of view made the story line feel choppy and I never felt connected to any of the characters. I was not familiar with the lullaby for this book, which also made it difficult for me to connect with the story. My favorite part of A Doll's Curse was the gore, and creative violent scenes.
I still do not know if I liked this particular story, but I am enjoying the anthology, and it was necessary for the overall storyline. Overall I am going to call this an interesting, quick, and gore filled read that is worth it for the overall shared world.

Oh my, this book is incredibly creepy and the creepiest so far in the series! From the very first page, it sets a chilling atmosphere that draws you in. It hits all the right notes for a horror story, weaving suspense and dread seamlessly. Some parts literally made me cringe, keeping me at the edge of my seat. It’s exactly what I expected from this anthology, and Nicolasa wrote it so well that her words practically came alive.

As a side note…. WTF was with Nancy and Betsy???? That was utterly vile, and was the part that made me feel the most uncomfortable throughout reading.

The details within this story are so intricately written, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the narrative. Belinda is truly creepy and once messed up kid that’s going to need some serious therapy after the events of this book.

Please check trigger warnings before reading, for the sake of your mental health.

Book 5 in the Nightmare on Lull Lane series and again thank you for the ARC opportunity! And as always check your triggers, this one was INTENSE if you're sensitive to animals, blood consumption, and consumption of animal ashes

This one was certainly different. I'm not a fan of 3rd person but this was fun to read, we got the POVs(?) of not only the FMC, Belinda, but also of the parents and even a side character. Belinda's parents seemed like they did love each other—though there was a questionable moment—and seemed to be haunted by what they did to Savannah as opposed to the other parents. Then with Belinda being connected to the doll her whole life? This was... unique.

Like I said, as a personal preference I don't typically like reading stories that are in 3rd person, but this is just so different that I'm giving it a 4!

Thank you to Nicolasa for providing me with an ARC!

This is the fifth book in the Nightmares on Lull Lane shared world series and it is the darkest so far. In this book we meet Belinda, who is the only daughter of Antonio and Camille. Growing up, she becomes attached to Pin, her doll gifted from the Dollmaker. Belinda’s attachment is a toxic one lasting into adulthood, where she takes Pin everywhere with her. As Belinda ages, she becomes bloodthirsty and cruel, seeking to destroy anyone she deems a threat to her. And by destroy, I mean torture and unalive using very creative methods. My biggest critique is that this book was written in third person which hindered my ability to connect with the characters a bit, but overall, this was a captivating dark read. Justice for the squirrels!!

**PLEASE check TWs, as this book is DARK and twisted!!**

This is my first time reading Nicolasa DeSatiago’s work and it will definitely not be the last!
This little pocket rocket of a story takes you on a twisted and gory ride of thrills, delivering a perfect splatterpunk addition to the NOLL series.
I enjoyed that the author gave us a look into the life of the parents and younger years of Belinda leading up to the main event so to speak.
I really liked in this story that Belinda has had a magnetic pull to Pin since the age of 4 and they have been inseparable. The events throughout had me absolutely glued to the story with the heebie jeebies and anticipation on what’s to come next!

Again another great addition to the NOLL series

A Doll’s Curse is part of the multi-author Nightmares of Lull Lane series.
(Doll: Pin - Revenge: Antonio and Camille)
(Must read The Doll maker first and Wee, Wee, Wee, as you burn last)

This One’s Pure Gore, No Spice

Okay, besties… "Doll's Curse"? Straight-up splatterpunk madness. Forget spice... Nicolasa DeSantiago was like, “You want romance? Too bad, here’s a head blown off and intestines hanging out of a gaping hole in a stomach.” It’s dark, twisted, and drenched in gore, like if SAW and The Exorcist had a cursed porcelain baby. The Santos family’s curse is wild and brutal, and while I totally respect the author’s creativity, this one was more acid bath than slow burn. The 3rd-person POVis not my vibe, and the weirdness hit another level... but hey, that’s horror for you. Not my cup of blood (uh, tea😏), but definitely unforgettable. Hardcore horror fans, proceed… with gloves and a strong stomach. 🩸

Up next on the revenge tour.

A Dolls Curse is book 5 in the Nightmares of Lull Lane series. Our sweet Savannah is getting her revenge against those who have wronged her and the Santos family is no exception. Even if Antonio and Camille have their own version of regret. A little anyway. Oh well.

There is no room for regret in revenge and Pin makes sure of that. And how does she do that. By growing their daughter in to a blood thirsty little thing.

I loved Belinda and her development due to her doll from such an early age! She grew into what was needed for the revenge and it was bloody!

Clots and jelly🩸that was….something. But by book 5 it shouldn’t surprise you with how twisted these books can get. And they just keep getting better!

And what was up with that neighbour? I’ll be keeping an eye on mine that have dogs now 😂

Book 5 of the NOLL shared world..holy shit this one was DARK! Please check triggers, this one was extremely dark. Did I mention extreme? Because its extreme! Belinda grew up relatively detattched from her parents, or her parents detattched themselves from her. Either way, once she was born the curse activated and as soon as Belinda turned 18, all hell began to unleash on those Pin was created to rain hell on. Belinda was smart in the way she acted and did things, people had their suspicions about her but couldn't quite convince themselves she was capable of such violence. Once Pin was truly awaken and able to use Belinda to her will, it was game over. This was a dark doll for sure, but on to the next to see how the story continues to unfold! Thank you @desantiagohorror for the privilage to be part of your ARC team!

A Doll’s Curse by Nicolasa DeSantiago is pure splatterpunk mayhem bloody, unhinged, and impossible to look away from. DeSantiago doesn’t hold back for a second; she rips the “creepy doll” trope open and lets it bleed something entirely new.

Pin is the kind of nightmare that crawls under your skin and makes itself comfortable. The writing is brutal and beautiful all at once every word feels deliberate, every scene crafted to both repulse and mesmerize. The pacing is relentless, the imagery cinematic, and the tension never lets up.

It’s horror that feels intimate and feral, the kind that gets in your head and rearranges the furniture. If you love stories that make you squirm and grin in equal measure, Doll’s Curse will absolutely ruin you, in the best way possible.

Horror fans: brace yourselves. This one’s a masterpiece of madness.

Belinda is a very weird kid that continues to stay just as weird as she gets older. She is someone you don’t want to mess with she can scare even the meanest people on her street. There was only a couple of scenes that I was disgusted by and thank you for that. So please be cautious when reading this book. Is a horror book with some graphic scenes that can be disturbing for some readings please be careful. The love Belinda has for her doll pin is something that is creepy but also really sweet. The book isn’t a fast pace read but also not a slow burn just a good pace. The twist that comes in the story is something I saw coming only cause I’ve watched way too many horror movies, but I loved all the twist and the creepy vibes as well.
