OMG I am sooo sick of the 'drama' of two-timing. It's not two-timing aka cheating, it's a throuple/thressome! GOD! If the parties are all in agreement over the relationship, there should be zero drama or angst from """two-timing""" at ALL. This really freaking irritates me about Yuri Tama as well.
I like Renako and the most of the other girls but I wish this had more romance. Very very little romantic stuff in this series, mostly drama and fanservice situations, like bathing with or being touched by another girl.............. but it's the best we yuri fans have to work with...
In between all the goofy situations Renako finds herself fretting over, there's some great characterization happening 'in the background' -- which is a big part of where this series shines, IMO.
The 'Satsuki being flippant about exploring her feelings' scenes were particularly standout in this one, IMO.
I'd love it even more if this one hadn't ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, but I'll definitely be looking forward to the next volume!
This volume gets to the core of what I love about this series, which is how believable and lived-in the relationships between the characters feel. This volume starts a two-part mini arc about Haruna, Renako's little sister, as she goes through some shit and how Renako tries to help her through it but has a hard time getting through her walls to do so. It also delves deeper into what exactly Renako's high school life was like, including quite a few CWs for bullying, so be aware of that going into this one. It can get dark, especially for a series as fluffy and comfy as this one (though if you've read volume four you know that this series doesn't shy away from frank depictions of depression and more mature subjects) This volume ends on a bit of a cliffhanger (one that doesn't depict one of the Quintet in a particularly favorable light), so have the next one ready when you finish it!
