I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Linc and Addie was great. I really loved the banter between them and the side characters. I like it when the hockey romance includes hockey like this one does. The relationships between the teammates is good to see as well. The spice was good but didn't override the plot which was nice. Overall, this was a good first book in a new series that I hope to see more of soon. Go Mounties!

So this book is the first in the new Calgary Mounties Series Allison is writing called the On Thin Ice.
This book was amazing, hands down, I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved reading about Lincoln and Adele's story and can't wait for more books in this amazing series.
These two characters are absolutely amazing and funny. Their banter towards each other is the best and had me giggling my ass off. Firstly, they decided to fake date, but things along the way changed to friends with benefits while continuing to fake date, to then have Linc break poor Adele's heart. They were absolutely perfect together and so glad Kylie and Seth knocked some sense into Lincoln and finally admits his feelings.
I am looking forward to the next book and can't wait to see what characters are next in this amazing series Allison.

Absolutely loved this book!
I’ve read A LOT of hockey romances and On Thin Ice instantly became one of my favourites. From the very first chapter, I was hooked.
Lincoln is the kind of male lead who sneaks up on you—you think he’s just the solid, dependable type, and then he surprises you with how warm and genuine he is. Adele, on the other hand, is fiery and fiercely independent. She’s got a sharp tongue, isn’t afraid to challenge him, and honestly makes the perfect counterpart to his calm nature.
What makes their romance stand out is the way they clash. It’s that irresistible opposites-attract energy—they annoy each other, push each other’s boundaries, and yet somehow bring out the best in one another. I couldn’t help but root for them from the start.
I also loved how much the friend group added to the story. They weren’t just filler characters—they gave the book so much depth and made every scene feel connected and real. It felt like stepping into a community, not just a romance.
And then there’s Milo. This golden retriever had my whole heart. He’s playful, a little chaotic, and endlessly lovable. The way his personality reflects Lincoln’s—loyal, enthusiastic, but also a bit hesitant at times—was such a clever touch. Milo’s scenes were easily some of the most memorable in the book.

A hockey romance set not only in my home country but home province? Yes please. Would be better if it was Edmonton and not Calgary but that's a hometown rivalry lol. Pair that with some fake dating and he falls first and I was in romance heaven.
Andrews writes a witty tale full of humor, great banter, and a little bit of spice. The back and forth between the two right from the outset lays the groundwork for some amazing chemistry. The opposites attract dynamic was really working. Adele is so feisty and full of fire. And I really respected her walking away from a relationship that wasn't working for her before it got to a point that it was harder to step back. Even if the timing was more than inconvenient.
Lincoln was such a green flag with a golden retriever center. He comes off cocky and self assured but has such a heart of gold and caring affect. The way he wants to spoils to spoil Adele is so endearing. Plus he comes with Milo, our hockey loving actual golden retriever. What's not to love.
The pacing and writing was on point, enhanced by a great cast of side characters that added to story as opposed to just filling in space. Which leads to a fast easy read. I knew when I was offered the chance to be an arc reader and street team member this book would be a hit for me and Andrews didn't disappoint.

Now i love me some ice hockey romances. And this one was a fun ride!!!
Adele our FMC has just broke things off with her fiancé at her cousin/BFFs wedding. And our MMC Lincoln is hockeys biggest star who is currently facing a major scandal after a sex tape leaks. So what do they do? They decide to Fake date. But i mean what could possibly go wrong?
This is absolutely a friends to lovers trope, which if thats your thing you will LOVE IT. I throughly enjoyed the banter between Addie & Linc. They annoy each other, tease each other & get under each other's skin all the time which made it super fun to read.

This was a cute book. I did quite enjoy it. The typical third act break up came really late in the book though, at like 90%, so the ending kind of felt a bit rushed.

what a gorgeous fake dating ice hockey romance. Allison is my fave romance author and she does these gorgeous, easy to read, funny and spicy novels that just warm my heart ❤️ If you need a break from heavier reads, this is for you.

From the opening lines I was completely hooked, because although I knew how it would end (HEA of course) I was intrigued how they would get there - especially after the first few chapters.
We open with our MMC, Lincoln, a commitment-phobe who likes to bed pretty things (male... female - it's all the same) who's a NHL veteran and all round 'lad' but with a soft heart for his friends and team mates. Oh, and with a sex tape scandal about to hit.
Adele, is stressed from trying to organise her cousins wedding, deal with the expectations of her part in the family business and trying to avoid her fiancé at all costs. Oh, and she breaks up with him during the wedding reception.
Annnnnd - Lincoln and Adele also get drunk and sleep together that night.
Cue shenanigans, a brilliant (nothing could ever go wrong) fake dating deal, repressed feelings and a whole lot of sexual tension.
I adore the way Allison has written their bickering and banter, its funny, natural and sexy all at once. But on top of that she's written about a topic that has crippled countless people across the world - revenge porn. The sudden shift in Lincoln is so nuanced and well done and you see behind the bravado to someone who's been hurt and let down by people he thought would stand up for him. But of course there's Adele and this sassy pocket rocket won't take shit from anyone. Lucky they are only fake dating because falling in love would be too easy to do.

Adele is newly single after dumping her fiancé at her best friend/cousin's wedding and after too many drinks, she falls into bed with her friend Lincoln, the golden retriever hockey god friend she loves to fight with. When they wake up, both are mortified at their monumental mistake and agree to never speak of their night together.
When Lincoln becomes the center of a scandal that could tank his career, his best friend suggests that he and Adele start a fake relationship to clean up his image. Both being scared of commitment, the ruse should be easy, until their fake dates start to feel a little too real. Will they be able to fool everyone around them without fooling themselves?
First and foremost...Milo is the low key star of this story and is beyond adorable. The banter between Lincoln and Adele is top tier and their initial love/hate relationship is hilarious. I enjoyed how both characters had the same commitment issues and throughout their time together, they were able to see that the right person changed your perspective. The story line was well done with a great group of friends, tense moments within the hockey team, comradery and the twist involving the scandal. The humor, banter, spicy moments and overall experience of Sebastian and Adele falling in love makes this a perfect book for all lovers of romance as well as those who enjoy the sports romance part of the story.

I only got into ice hockey last year, so I haven’t read many hockey romances, but I was soo excited to try On Thin Ice, and it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved it.
Lincoln is impossible not to love, he’s the most genuine guy. (Different sport completely but definitely Travis Kelce energy after the podcast yesterday!) Adele is independent and never WILL say what she thinks. Definitely a FMC to enjoy reading.
I’m usually a big friends-to-lovers girl, but I adored the added opposites-attract dynamic here too. Addie and Linc push each other’s buttons, tease, and drive each other crazy. But it's obvious that they need to end up together.
The found family/friend group were written in an absolutely amazing way. They are what move this story along and help the whole story and made it feel complete.
Speaking of side characters: Milo, the golden retriever, literally stole the show in this book for me. All of my favourite scenes are where he is on display in all of his golden retriever glory. I found that there were many parallels between him, and his owner Linc: full of energy, eager to please, and I also thought that his fear of doorbells and knocking was just that little bit similar to Lincoln's fear of opening the door to his heart.
Milo is a character who left me wanting to cuddle him for days! It's no wonder that he has 1 million followers on his Instagram, who couldn't love him??
If you love hockey romance, opposites attract, fake dating that turns real, and all the golden retriever energy you could ask for, you need On Thin Ice in your life!

On Thin Ice by Allison A. Andrews is the story about ice hockey player Lincoln, who just takes everything easy with no commitments whatsoever. When a spicy video is released, his job is on the line and to get more good publicity he gets into a fake relationship with Adele, someone he has known for quite some time and with whom he, when drunk, spend a night with. Adele agrees to this fake dating, but fake can turn real very fast.
I loved reading this book, I enjoyed it a lot, especially the shameful flirting and easy-going style of Linc. He has a great chemistry with Adele/Addie, and I loved their banter. He is a great guy, loves his sport and his dog Milo. Adele can be fierce, but also loyal and smart. She makes fun of Lincoln, does not take him seriously, but when they spend more time together, she gets smitten. Their friends and side characters come across really good as well. And I absolutely adore Milo. He is a great dog and makes things funny and swoony as well. And there are some really romantic scenes in this book. Near the end there is this swoony and so romantic scene!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ On Thin Ice by Allison A. Andrews is the kind of hockey romance that grabs you by the jersey and doesn’t let go. Fake dating? Check. Opposites attract? Absolutely. A golden retriever who steals every scene? You bet.
Lincoln O’Malley is the cocky, commitment-phobic hockey star with a scandal on his heels and a soft heart buried under all that swagger. Adele is the fierce, independent queen who’s just called off her engagement and has zero time for nonsense—except maybe when it comes to Lincoln. Their chemistry is electric, their banter is razor-sharp, and watching them try (and fail) to keep things fake is pure joy.
The romance is spicy without overpowering the plot, and the emotional beats—especially around Lincoln’s vulnerability and the revenge porn storyline—are handled with surprising depth. Add in a chaotic, lovable friend group and Milo, Lincoln’s actual golden retriever (who deserves his own novella), and you’ve got a story that’s as heartfelt as it is hilarious.

Sparks fly on and off the ice in this cute hockey romance. If you are in your Hockey Era add this one to your TBR.
I enjoyed the interactions with the side characters FMC works with her family's business and her cousin is married to Lincoln's best friend and team mate. Lincoln also has an adorable dog that ends up becoming a social media sensation with his love of the ice and chasing pucks.
It took me a bit to get into this book but once I got into it I was hooked the lead characters were people you want to root for and see have a happy ending. I knew I was going to love this book, and I wasn’t wrong. I absolutely ATE. IT. UP. The chemistry between Lincoln & Adele was electric, and their banter? Absolute perfection 👌🏼 I loved them both together and as individuals.
Lincoln, with his cheeky grin and cocky attitude, is impossible not to love-and underneath it all, he’s the most genuine guy. True golden retriever energy. What is it about hockey players? Something just hits different 😅 And honestly… who doesn’t love a man who’s filthy in the bedroom but treats you like a princess outside of it? 😮💨👑
Adele is strong, independent, and never afraid to speak her mind—the definition of a badass FMC. These two were absolutely kidding themselves when they thought they could fake date without catching feelings. They fell just as hard for each other, and I couldn’t have loved their story more.

I love a good hockey romance and this book was no different! Alison a Andrew’s is becoming on of my favourite authors, this book is soo amazingly good that I couldn’t put it down, I was hooked from the first page, it had me giggling and kicking my feet and swooning over Lincoln! But Milo! Had my heart, who can say no to a furry friend 😉 but all jokes aside I loved the characters and how some of the characters from the circle of friends series were in this book. I loved the storyline and the way the book was written. How I wish I could be Adele right now! She is one fiercely strong and loving person who won’t let anyone tell her what she feels. The banter and chemistry between Lincoln and Adele is so cute and to die for.
I loved the hockey side of the book and was really happy to be able to read a hockey romance book with actual hockey scenes throughout the book

Adele just broke things off with her fiancé at her cousin/BFFs wedding. Lincoln is hockeys biggest star facing a scandal after a sex tape leaks. Their solution? Fake date. What could possibly go wrong?
Now I am not typically a fan of the friends to lovers trope, but I really enjoyed the banter between Addie & Linc. They annoy each other, tease each other & get under each other’s skin. But everyone else around them can see that they’re meant to be in the cutest way. Plus the found family/friend group in this book is amazing. I love the side characters almost as much as the two main characters; side characters like this really helped enhance my experience when reading a book. But if we’re being honest, my absolute favorite character in the whole book is Lynn golden retriever Milo 🐕
I definitely recommend that you pick up on the ice by Allison A. Andrews, it’s a great hockey romance a super easy read with a little bit of spice. That’s a recipe for a great time if you ask me 😉

Lincoln is a classic golden retriever hockey star who just so happens to get caught up in a small scandal. You will fall in love with their back and forth banter and of course, the dog!
There are strong supporting characters who add a lot to the story. They help these two love birds realize what they were too afraid to admit. Lincoln and Adele are the perfect opposites that attract/friends to lovers fake dating couple.

Firstly, I don't usually read a lot of romance until recently. And then, hockey romance? I really didn't think this would be any thing but I knew the author from work and was so keen to try reading something of hers. No Regrets! This could actually have been a single sitting read for me but... life commitments 🤨 On Thin Ice is super easy to read and goes down smoothly with some tingly bits in the right places 😘
Both characters are easily likeable. Lincoln, the big buff Golden Retriever who is ever the peacemaker, people pleaser, but who also showed his vulnerability. And lovely Adele is actually very feisty and protective of her loved ones, still finding her feet and her dreams. I love that they get along very well and firstly as friends. Their flirty banter is constant & just too cute.
And let's not forget the actual star of the novel! I need a Milo in my life 🐶

Fake Dating, Banter, and a Golden Retriever!
I knew that I would love this book because I haven't read anything from Allison that I didn't, but I'm a big ol' sucker for a hockey romance, and this didn't disappoint.
You would think that with the messy start Linc and Addie had to their fake relationship would make things easy for them to keep some distance, but in true fake dating style, keeping up appearances starts to feel all too real.
I loved their banter and the way they pushed each others buttons but still communicated so easily. Addie is so intuitive and just locks right into Linc's emotions, doesn't let him hide, and really stands up for him.
In true Allison fashion, this is a beautiful story with plenty of warm and fuzzy emotions, along with the occasional laugh. I can't wait for the rest of the books in this series to come out because I know that they will all leave me feeling whole.

I would definitely be one of Milo’s one million followers if that adorable pupper was real (and lets be real, I already am following the cute pupper Milo is probably based off of!)
Fake dating will also be my fave trope because of so many other implies tropes that go with it like forced prox and “we shouldn’t” - and this is another great example of why the trope is so good. Allison nailed the bubbling and growing tension until it finally snaps, and I loved every bit of it.

It took a while for the story to pick up and im so glad i didn't DNF coz my good it had all the fuzzies x
A hockey book with no other woman problems, but the 3rd brake up was there but it didn't take forever for them to come back together thank god. okay so this may be a spoiler but i love that they both agreed to no kids and at the end there was still no baby, like finally a book were they both agree to no kids and having no surprises.

I loved reading Lincoln and Adele's story. They compliment each other so well. Their witty banter had me laughing and smiling the whole way through the book.
Lincoln is cocky and irresistible. He is charismatic and sexy and everyone loves him, but underneath he is vulnerable and afraid of love.
Adele is feisty and independent. She is funny and gorgeous and knows how to push Lincoln's buttons.
They thought they could fake date without involving feelings but boy were they wrong. You will laugh and smile as you watch them both navigate their way from friends to lovers.

If you want a bubbly hockey romance then this book would be a great fit for you to add it to your reading list! Follow Adele and Lincoln, both scared of commitment who after a drunken one night together, embark on an adventure of fake dating that quickly turns into something so much more.
Mmm my favourite character from the book? Oh easiest decision ever! MILO, because who wouldn’t choose the loveable golden retriever dog. Also I loved hearing his involvement throughout the book and it made me want to just watch video after video of a dog playing on ice who is infatuated with hockey pucks! Cute!
A plot, romance, spice and fun banter between the FMC and MMC … Allison certainly knows all the things to a readers heart!

Also I loved hearing his involvement throughout the book and it made me want to just watch video after video of a dog playing on ice who is infatuated with hockey pucks! Cute!
A plot, romance, spice and fun banter between the FMC and MMC … Allison certainly knows all the things to a readers heart!

Absolutely obsessed with Addie (Adele) and Linc (Lincoln). This book had me completely feeling all warm and fuzzy. I was captivated from the very first page till the very last page… Completely hooked!! I’m a sucker for a good Hockey Romance and my god, this one slapped!! Devoured every page!!
