Boyfriend From Hell: A Spicy Paranormal Romance Novella

Rate this book
He'll do whatever it takes to fix her broken heart.
Even if that means dragging her back to Hell with him in the process.

This is book one in the Tainted Love paranormal romance series.

Lucifer meets Beauty and the Beast in this paranormal romance where a dangerously bored devil and a human woman whose world was just turned upside down, share an impromptu romantic night together, watching a meteor shower. Little does the woman know that the half hearted wish she makes on one of the shooting stars will bind her to the strange man that's seated beside her.

The Human.

Moving to a new city post breakup wasn't exactly on Deer's to-do list. But, when she finds herself finally living close enough to see her best friend as often as she wants, she figures things could be worse. Gracie wants Deer to get back out in the dating scene, but stubborn and still pining over her ex, Deer wants nothing to do with any other man. That is until an unsettlingly attractive man with scarlet colored irises shows up on her doorstep one night asking for help, she can't help but be drawn to his charming demeanor.

The Devil.

Raios, a devil with a bad case of boredom—and an obsession he can’t shake. From the depths of Hell, he’s been listening to a woman's soft, heartbroken cries for awhile, but enough is enough. He knows that she is heartbreak wrapped in human skin—shattered, guarded, and not looking for company. But he can’t stop thinking about her. His selfish desire gets the best of him, so on his annual holiday, Raios heads to Portland, Oregon—not for the coffee or scenery, but to get a closer view of her.

He knows he can fix her shattered heart, and he plans to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
Even if that means dragging her down to Hell with him in the process.

A Tainted Love.

This spicy neighbors-to-lovers-vibe novella is perfect for fans of shadow daddies, overcoming heartbreak, embracing new beginnings, questionable cinnamon roll MMCs who may or may not be a bit morally grey—and books like Neon Gods, Until The World Falls Down, and Phantasma.

Oh goodness, this was such a tasty little treat!!

I loved how Deer was insecure and felt unworthy of love, like a lot of us humans, and Raios did everything in his power to continuous make her feel secure and loved! He was definitely morally grey but he was a total sweetie for his mate, which I loved!

I loved how Raios was the literal Prince of Hell, but he also had a very endearing, nervous charm about him. Having grown up an only child and someone other children didn’t want to play with because of his family’s legacy, he was a very lonely individual, much like Deer. I loved how he created his shadows to be his friends and they became these sentient beings Deer couldn’t even tell weren’t real at first.

Speaking of his shadows, holy cow!! I am not a why choose girlie by any means, but I could definitely get down with this threesome! Deer with Raios’ shadows while Raios watched (and felt everything his shadows felt), was amazing and A-OK with me!! Add to this Raios’ dirty mouth, and it was a wonderfully dirty ride 😉

I loved the brief glimpse we got into Hell and the background on it being split into seven sectors – one for each of the deadly sins. I hope in future installments we get to explore Hell even more!! After that ending, I need more asap!!

Thank you Sedona Jessie for the opportunity to read this book. The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.

A why choose with one man? Oh yes! You heard me correct and yes this book learned me it's possible. This novella was so much fun. Always a big plus if it can make me laugh out loud.

So about the story. The story is about the FMC called Deer who has moved because of a breakup with her ex. Deer hasn't been treated right by him and after six months is still pining for his attention and approvel. But than Raison the sexy neighbour comes in the picture. He is hot and after a sleepover one night he is determined to make Deer his. What she doesn't know is that Raison is the prince of hell🔥

Favorite quotes📖⬇️

"My eyes finally focused on the people before me. Three men. Well, two men and one horned, whatever the hell-goat man?"

"Of course he would be shirtless, because why would he be wearing a shirt. That would just make too much sense!"

"What do you say? Would you care to date a devil like me?"

Shadow daddy why choose (ish) with ONE man (you heard me)? Yep. Sold. COUNT ME IN BOYS.

This was fast-paced, yet kind of a slow burn? AND HES SHY AND CUTE? Who knew the Prince of Hell would be shy and cute. I like it. Picasso.

The plot and idea of this was such a ride, though executed a little wonky. The beginning had a lot of depth and plot, and then about 45% through, it started getting a little less in-depth, a little more rushed, and had less explanation for things.

I wasn’t ever confused by anything, it was just paced awkwardly and some spots were pushed forward quicker than others and I wasn’t sure why 🤣💀

I think what turned this around and made it a good, fun time, was the fact that he is a shadow daddy devil with horns and a wicked mouth when he isn’t acting bashful and shy — and he has twin counterparts. And they PRACTICE THINGS.

Yea the spice can always make up for any lost points 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m easy like that.

Anyway, 3 ⭐️, 2 🌶️ !!!

Thank you so much to Sedona and team for allowing me to read this advanced copy of Boyfriend From Hell!

This book was just okay for me. The concept had a lot of potential, but the pacing felt too rushed, and it skimmed over some major plot holes instead of addressing them. The story really needed more room to breathe—at least one full-length novel, if not a duology—to develop the characters and world in a way that would feel complete and satisfying.

I wanted to really like this book. I love that it’s a short, quick read and I feel like the story is there, it’s just very underdeveloped (due to it being so short). The main character goes from heartbreak to mated in about three chapters and the spice was okay, but not something I’ll read again.

2.5 stars - I really wanted to love this, but it just fell flat for me. Great plot idea (who doesn't love the idea of the Prince of Hell kidnapping you and making you his Queen), but the execution just didn't hit right for me.

This book was so fun and oh so bingeable! I loved every second of it and I truly couldn’t put it down!

Our FMC Deer is going through it, trying to heal from the toxicity of her ex when her neighbor, Raios, unexpectedly comes to her door on her birthday. Little does she know the devil next door will send her life spinning into a whirlwind, dragging her to Hell along the way. 🔥

Boyfriend from Hell is a paranormal romance novella packed full of banter, heat, and spice that perfectly hits the spot!

So if you’re looking for a quick read with:
A Devil x Human romance 😈
Overcoming heartbreak 💔
Forced proximity ❤️‍🔥
A possessive MMC ✨
He can fix her ❤️‍🩹
Why choose but it’s with his shadows 🖤
Then I highly recommend checking out Boyfriend from Hell!

Boyfriend from Hell gets 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me and I would give it a 3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ on the spice scale!

Queen rising

Short and smoking! Deer is devastated after a break up and her prayers are answered by a prince….. of hell and taken as mate. A little insta love but it actually didn’t feel rushed. I would’ve loved a revenge angle though, but still good!

♡ 𝑀𝓎 𝓉𝒽𝑜𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉𝓈:
For what it is — a spicy little novella about a hot devil — it was alright. Raios himself I actually liked for the most part, though there were definitely moments where I wasn’t totally vibing with him. I was conflicted, because on one hand he’s undeniably attractive and says all the right things that would make any girl go to her knees. But something about him just didn’t always click for me, I’m not sure if it was things he said, or if it was when we got his inner monologues, it could also just be that he’s one of the golden retriever MC’s and those are not typically my favorites there are very few of those of which I fall in love with, so yeah not totally sure.

The pacing honestly was probably part of that. Things moved fast (It is a novella though and I should have expected it). Like, the first 75% of the story takes place over two days, and then suddenly there’s a one-month time jump toward the end. It made the relationship feel a little rushed, and honestly I had whiplash when Deer’s attitude changed so quickly. She spends a good chunk of the book rejecting everything that’s happening, and then one dinner with his parents later, she’s suddenly all in. It was kind of ridiculous but enjoyable so whatever this one really is just for vibes.

Deer as an FMC wasn’t terrible, but she wasn’t amazing either. She had her moments, but I never felt fully connected to her. The plot itself is… minimal (if there even really was one). It’s mostly Raios trying to convince her to stay in hell with him after kidnapping her because he’s been stalking her thoughts for years.

it wasn’t like I had been stalking her. Just more so listening to her thoughts every waking moment I could.

The spice was solid though and even with my mixed feelings, I’ll admit it was entertaining enough that I read the whole thing in a day. The ending has a small cliffhanger that teases more to come, and honestly? If there’s a sequel and I remember it exists, I’ll probably read it. Because even though it wasn’t amazing, it was fun. Sometimes that’s all you need.

I decided then and there I would do whatever it took to mend that shattered heart of hers. I’d pick the shards up with my teeth if I had to and take every cut as a blessing, so long as I was the one doing it.

♡ 𝒮𝓅𝒾𝒸𝑒 𝓁𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓁: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I will never turn my back on you and make you wonder why you were not enough. I will fulfill every wish you have and rebuild your heart piece by piece if I have to. I will show you what love truly is like. And, if the day ever came when you are somehow no longer in my grasp, I would tear through the fabric of time and reality to find you. You are mine, and I am yours.

♡ 𝙁𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙌𝙪𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙨:
every part of me was convinced I could fix her

For as long as your fragile little human heart beats, Deer, you’re mine. And the moment that wad of meat stutters and stops in that sultry chest of yours, I’m reclaiming you—remaking you into a demoness to be with me for all eternity.

Let me take your pain, Give it all to me, let me hold its weight for you so you never have to bear the burden of heartache, or betrayal, ever again.

Oh, my sweet nightmare, I’m going to do more than that. I’m going to savor you, every last drop of you. You will scream my name from these infernal pits; all will know you belong to me.

I want this, if you want this. I want you, all of you, in every sense of the words.

Cute, somewhat dark, spicy paranormal romance!

Deer, the FMC, was relatable as someone who has gone through an agonizing heartbreak, albeit a little annoying due to her incessant pining for her ex (yet, I wonder if any of us in similar circumstances are that annoying and can’t realize it).

Raios, the MMC, reminded me of the irreverent and roguish, yet golden retriever puppy dog energy of Lucifer Morningstar and I was here for it. Plus who wouldn’t want a shadow daddy who, more than anything, wants to take your pain away?

The novella was fast paced. Kept me engaged. The spicy scenes were steamy. I loved Raios’ shadows. I wouldn’t mind being kidnapped to hell.

My only (minor) complaints: I acknowledge this was a novella but I would have loved a bit more of a reason for Deer to come around to what Raios had to offer. Some grovel, maybe. I loved the start of the world-building in hell, anchored to the seven deadly sins, but I need more! Finally, the end… I will be watching for the second book because I need to know what happens from here!

Loved the premise but I just couldn't get into it. I absolutely eat demon/devil romances but for some reason I had a hard time with this one... maybe it was because it felt a bit rushed and disjointed (as in there were a lot of unanswered questions that may become plot lines but at the time it just felt unconnected)

Thanks to the author for the ARC. All comments are my own.

This book is nothing but good solid fun that will have you giggling on your way down to Hell. Who doesn’t love a slutty little palette cleanser? I think paranormal romances might be one of my favorite sub genres - they’re always low stakes high reward. This was on par with Bride by Ali Hazelwood and I’m in Love with Mothman by Paige Lavoie for me.

The commentary from our FMC is hilarious and blunt. She curses like a sailor and aside from her poor choice in men I found her very relatable (let’s be real I had terrible choice in men at 25 as well).

The contrast of our MMC being the dark shadow prince of Hell, but a lonely softy that is also a virgin looking for love was so silly (in the best possible way). He was also giving Joe Goldberg from You prior to them meeting - the one we found hot in the first season (right!? right!?).

Something I fixated on was that part of the narrative takes place in Portland OR. This is where I currently reside and grew up in the area - I love it here which is why I found this humorous. But, of course the Devil spends his vacation in Portland! As our current administration in office has stated it’s “like living in hell”. The book even makes a similar comparison from the MMC - “After a year in the city, I had to admit it wasn’t much different from home - chaotic, swarming with people…just less organized.” And by home he means Hell lol.

“I lived right in the dead center of Portland. There was usually a cop around every damned corner” - true

“He had mentioned that he was spending his holiday from Hell in Portland - and believe me when I say, that city wasn’t having a shortage on attractive women.” - also true

Beware this does end on a cliffhanger.

Who said I couldn't fall in love with the prince of hell himself?
Let that person tell me that again and then I will introduce they to Raios.

📚Firts of all, we get to know Deer's story firsthand. She's a writer, it's her passion, and I felt a little connected to her because of their relationship.

📚She's in a relationship that only brings her sadness. Even though she lives with him, it's as if she were living alone. He's practically always making excuses like "I have too much work" and so on (we already know those types of men, right?). BUT WHAT MADE ME THE MOST ANGRY IS THE WAY FELIX SPOKEN TO DEER IN THE PROLOGUE (well, I really hate him for how he's always treated her; he's a pig).

As soon as that nameless pig breaks up with her, Deer moves to Portland. Obviously, heartbroken and shattered. 🥺

But right into the building she's moving into, our beloved, handsome and sexy neighbor Raios walks in.

😈Raios has always had an eye on Deer (a little obsession 🤭) And he can't think of a better way to get closer to her than to pretend he's locked himself out of his apartment, which he achieves after she lends him her phone so he can call the landlord, go in, have a few glasses of wine, and have a nice chat with her.

😈Raios is so sweet to her... he makes sure she's always comfortable, makes her see that she's valuable and that he wants her to be his equal. He's so sweet that he surprised me and had me kicking my feet when he suddenly started talking dirty 🔥! (I had to write to the author and everything hahaha.)

If Deer had that reaction, I blushed and giggled as if he were saying it to me. That demon has power over her and me, I swear! 🥵

The book is short, but it really makes you laugh, and you'll love this couple! I'm already waiting for the second book because I'm ADDICTED to these two!🫣

*ARC Review* Thank you to Sedona Jessie for sending me a copy!

Intro:
This book is an FM romance between Deer, a heartbroken and recently single woman and Raios, a demon from hell.

Tropes:
-Multi POV
-Kidnapping
-Neighbors to Lovers
-Sassy FMC
-Mind Reading
-Shadow Manipulation
-Open Door Spice
-HFN

Likes:
-I love the shadow elements and Mal + Cal
-The way both characters were introduced to each other was humorous and entertaining
-Great plot idea, who wouldn't love reading about an obsessive demon prince
-Shy but possessive/protective MC
-Playful banter
-I liked the way Sedona describes things, environments, people, etc.
-Not a ton of world building, but from what I read it was really nice to have that background

My Dislikes:
-Pacing felt rushed in places and could have benefited from being a longer book
-FMC went from being mad about being kidnapped to accepting it and in a relationship pretty quickly. I would have liked more build up.
-The MMC says "I could fix her" as if she's broken which gave me an ick. She only went through a breakup, nothing super traumatizing, she's not broken.

Quote - "You will always be worthy of me. I will worship you until the stars fall from the sky and consume all the worlds, little love."

This book has good bones, but I don't think it was executed as well as it could have been and it fell a little flat for me. If you are looking for a quick read for spooky season or like fast paced, insta love demon romance, then you may like this story. It does end on a bit of a cliff hanger, but it is nothing major, so it can still be read as a standalone.

I'm very thankful and happy to have been given the opportunity to arc read this book. I really liked it! I gave this book 4.3stars

The plot is very interesting - a heartbroken girl gets swept away by the devil himself. It had everything - the heartbroken moments, filled with pain, anger, self-loathing, the happy, fulfilled, lovely moments, full of love, contentment and warmth. The contrast between all these emotions and the scenes cOmplimented each other nicely.

Though his methods were questionable, but the sincerity, love, admiration that Rios feels for Deer is so beautiful, heartwarming. I loved his chapters, cause everytime it gave me the understanding of the deep longing, devotion and love he feels for her, all the things that he done and will do in order to have her safe, comfortable and happy. In this case the Devil was Deer's saviour in every form and shape.

Throughout this whole story FMC went through a whirlwind of different emotions, things that happened to her, that managed to break her. But it was amazing to see how with The One True Person you can change completely in a good sense, heal and find your footing. (But I have to say, that I'm having a little difficulty of accepting that her name is Deer...)

And that ending left me absolutely speechless. I honestly didn't expect that.

All in all, for everyone who loooves stories about the Hell and the sinuous but very precious and adorable Devil, becoming the Knight in shining dark armor for the broken and lost heroine, this story is definitely for you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5 stars)

Boyfriend from Hell is a wickedly enchanting start to the Tainted Love series—a paranormal romance that blends the brooding intensity of Beauty and the Beast with the dangerous allure of Lucifer himself.

Deer is heartbroken, guarded, and absolutely not looking for love after a messy breakup. Moving to Portland was supposed to be a fresh start—time with her best friend, healing, and maybe a little peace. What she never expected was Raios: a devil with scarlet eyes, a silver tongue, and a dangerously charming smile. From the depths of Hell, he’s been listening to her cries and decides it’s time to intervene. Their first meeting—a meteor shower and a wish she doesn’t realize will bind them—sets the stage for a romance that’s equal parts tender and terrifying.

I adored the push and pull between Deer’s fragile heart and Raios’s obsessive determination. He’s selfish, possessive, and completely convinced he can heal her, while she’s trying to keep her walls intact. The chemistry crackles, the banter is sharp, and the darkly romantic tone makes it impossible to put down. Raios is everything you want a devil to be—dangerous, magnetic, and willing to burn the world to keep her.

Boyfriend from Hell is about heartbreak, temptation, and the kind of love that feels like both salvation and damnation. If you love paranormal romance with a devilishly dark twist, this novella will leave you craving more of the Tainted Love series.

2.5⭐️

Boyfriend from Hell had such a fun premise! The whole “prince from hell x human girl” setup hooked me instantly. Plus, the way it started with her making a wish on her birthday after a breakup? SO much potential.

But for me, the execution felt too rushed, even for a novella. Everything moved from point A to point B so quickly that I didn’t have time to really connect with the characters or the romance. I think this story would have shined so much more if it had been given the space of a full-length novel. The worldbuilding and the supernatural romance angle could have been fleshed out in a way that made it all feel richer and more impactful.

And then it ended on a cliffhanger, which honestly surprised me, because I was just starting to settle into the story. It makes me curious about where the author plans to take things next, but I still wish this installment had been a little more developed.

That said, I still think the idea is really creative, and I can definitely see people who enjoy quick, fast-paced novellas with paranormal twists having a fun time with it. Personally, I just wanted more! More depth, more time with the characters, and more development overall!

Does what is says on the tin

At first I thought this might be a rough read. The beginning had quite a few cliches in there, the FMC being a redheaded aspiring author experiencing heartbreak.
However, I ended up taking a liking to this novella. It is surprisingly sweet and intriguing with an actual storyline, which for some can be difficult to unfold in novellas. This is something I feel Sedona Jessie does very well.
We have feelings being expressed, we have relatable characters with personalities and we have we have some spice, the degree of which, to me, is just right. Not overshadowing (no pun intended) the plot but instead adding to it.

Of course, because of the shorter format, I feel a slight lacking of background on the characters, but realise this must be because I usually read full length novels, and often not anything contemporary.

Sedona Jessie isn’t reinventing the wheel with this novella, but honestly, why change a recipe that just works?

I find myself looking very much forward to the next book - because there really has to be a next book, right? Right??

4,5/5 stars. Loses 0,5 star honestly because of personal preference and the few cliches, which I tire of easily.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5

Recommendation: If you’re in the mood for something light and easy to get through during spooky season, Boyfriend from Hell will be fun! It’s a solid enough read, but it didn’t fully grab me or make me want to continue with the series.

Emotional Damage: ☠️ /5

Originality : 🖊️🖊️🖊️ /5

Writing: 🥀🥀🥀/5

Likes: It was quick and fun to read. The story had a solid base, and towards the end things picked up in a way that pulled me in more.

Dislikes: The writing style leaned quirky, which isn’t really my taste. Raios was cute, but not in a makes me feral kind of way. The plot also felt disjointed at times, and while the ending was more engaging, the pacing overall needed some work. It wasn’t a bad read—it just wasn’t particularly memorable for me. It didn’t make me feel anything.

🌹 Book Review: Boyfriend From Hell by Sedona Jessie 🔥

Boyfriend From Hell is a wickedly clever and intoxicating dark romance that pulls you straight into the underworld—literally. Sedona Jessie delivers a thrilling mix of kidnapping, forced proximity, and chosen one tropes, weaving them together with unexpected twists and a betrayal that hits like a punch to the gut.

What truly sets this book apart is its unique and vividly imagined take on Hell. Jessie’s depiction of the infernal realm feels both grand and intimate—filled with layered politics, dark beauty, and sensory detail that makes every scene crackle with tension. You can feel the heat, taste the danger, and sense the inevitability of temptation in every chapter.

The chemistry between the leads is electric, fueled by equal parts danger and desire. Every moment trapped together feels like a game of emotional and physical tug-of-war, and you can’t look away.

Boyfriend From Hell is the first book I’ve read by Sedona Jessie and I was lucky enough to get an Arc copy.

Deer has had a tough go at love with her now ex boyfriend, forgotten birthdays, always working late and always cancelling on plans with her. After the break up she moves to a new city and tries to carry on with life and unsuccessfully forget about her ex. But the devil next door has a plan to make a deal with her.

Raios has been listening to Deer’s woes for too long and has moved in next door to help her move on, with him, in Hell. Meet a new shadow daddy to add to your lists.

Thus begins their romance in Hell kickstarted with a bit of kidnapping

I really liked this book, the characters had serious chemistry and I’m a sucker for the soul mate troupe. I wish it was longer because I read it so quickly and I wanna know what the characters get up to next. Their shopping date gave a bit of insight into the world building but I want to see more of Hell and what problems the king and queen to be of Pride tackle next. This author had a new follower in me.

Boyfriend from Hell was such a pleasure to read and literally fell on my doorstep at the perfect time! Our FMC, Deer is emotionally exhausted and may have the survival skills of an actual Deer🥲 but I couldn’t help but love her. She is just a girl! and we’ve all been there, heartbroken over a douche bag. But we don’t all get to be swept away by a Hot, Charismatic Devil like Raios, who will take all your nightmares away.

& while our brooding MMC might be all of those things, he’s still shy in the hottest way and literally possesses one of my FAVORITE micro tropes for an MMC.. though I won’t spoil it for you!

I always think I know where Sedona is going with her stories and then she completely tilts the axis! If you like fast-paced paranormal romance books with shadow daddy’s, and maybe even a little why choose? This is a great pick for you.

Thank you to Sedona Jessie for providing me with this ARC and the opportunity to review this novella! I cannot wait to read the next book in the Tainted Love series!

Boyfriend From Hell by Sedona Jessie (ARC)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Spicy Paranormal Romance

A fast-paced, spicy, entertaining novella with a unique paranormal world, Boyfriend From Hell delivers everything I love in a paranormal romance.
The writing is well done, the twists are unexpected, and the inner monologue from Deer (FMC) is absolute perfection.
Raios (MMC) is the ultimate devil prince—shy, sweet, hot, and has a filthy mouth? Yes, please.
The chemistry between them is chef’s kiss!
And let’s talk about the "why-choose" scene with Raios and his shadow twins? Uhh I’ll swap places with you Deer!

I do wish we had a little more time for Deer to come around to life in Hell (a bit of grovelling from Raios wouldn’t of hurt either), and I definitely was not prepared for that cliffhanger ending, and yes, I actually swore out loud when I realised!

If you’re a fan of fast-pace, paranormal reads with swoony morally grey devils, fierce but vulnerable fmc’s and some spice, I’d definitely recommend picking up a copy of Boyfriend From Hell and giving it a go!

A Shy☺️ Dark🖤 Prince👑 Of The Underworld😈 And His Muse🪞

Deer is trying to move on after a devastating breakup from a four year relationship. She even relocates to a different state for a fresh start. Still reminiscing, her nostalgia replays an unhealthy connection. While in the midst of trying to heal she meets Raios. Raios is her neighbor from across the hall who comes knocking on her door because he’s locked out of his apartment. Leery of the unknown(Raios), Deer decides to be hospitable due to his situation. While Sharing conversation and wine 🍷 they decide to watch a meteor ☄️ shower under the stars ✨ each making a wish💫 Hours later, Deer’s one wish takes an otherworldly😈 turn with Raios that are surprising!😉 This was a slow to fast build up novella. The characters flowed along well with fun dialogue. The spicy🌶️🌶️ scenes didn’t take away from story. Though the plot(subplots)could have been developed slightly more, it is understandable since this was a short read. Deer, oh dear🤦🏾‍♀️ with that cliffhanger!👀 Can’t wait to see what happens next!!😁

I wasn't overly impressed with the story. It seemed like the FMC was just pretty accepting of most of what went on around her, and I'm not even sure I understood the attraction of the MMC to her. All she did was talk about her ex boyfriend and pined for him. Didn't really seem like someone worth pursuing, especially as a mate. For what it's worth, the smut was fairly decent when it did end up making an appearance in the book. Best line in the entire story was in reference to their spicy times. "He may have been a devil, but he fucked like a god." For a virgin, the MMC really employs a lot of "in the know" tactics. And the scene where he uses his shadows for some extra fun, definitely legit. The story ends on a pretty fucking huge cliffhanger, while the couple is mid coitus on an almost actual cliff. Which I found amusing. But the fact that it ends on a massive "what???!" wasn't amusing. There's no information about there being a follow-up to this one, and even if there were, I'm not sure that I'm going to be reading it. Don't know that I would recommend this one, shadow sex or not.

"You are not just a human. You are my mate. I chose you, and I will forever choose you. I hope someday you'll feel the same for me."

Ahhhhh this novella is the perfect way to start your spooky season! A virgin devil MMC who falls for a human healing after a break up!? Count me in! I devoured this book in like three hours, I could not put it down! It was such a fast paced and easy read, you immediately get sucked in from the first chapter! Raios has made his way through my book boyfriend ranks and smacked his ass right in the middle! He is just so sweet and shy, but also such a freak in the sheets 👀 Deer, my baby girl Deer, deserves all the love in the world. Her and Raios are the perfect little mix, I feel like they fill the parts that each other are missing! I don’t want to add any spoilers, but I do have one negative, it was too short! I need more immediately, like please drop book two on October 8th! 😂

Boyfriend from Hell is a bite-sized fun time wrapped in the Devils palm. I devoured this novella in less in a day. Sedonas writing style had me hooked from the very beginning.

We have Deer, our FMC, who just came out of a crappy relationship with the definition of a douche. She moves to Portland, Oregon to start her life over and try to find herself again. She literally deserves the world and nothing less.

Then, we have Raios. The beautiful horned shadow daddy. He’s the shy, virgin devil with the definition of freak in the sheets. 🥵😈 Raios with his shadows in that one scene (IYKYK), GOOD LORD!

The chemistry between the two characters was beautiful and the way Raios speaks to Deer literally made my heart sing. And the betrayal?! I did not see that coming.

This is perfect book to kick off spooky season with this paranormal romance. Add this to your TBR, you won’t be disappointed.
