The book made the book of Exodus come alive. Reading the commentary and then reading the text made it possible to understand the text. Huey points out that sin separates man from God, no one is ever so far removed from the attraction of other gods that he can relax his guard. success achieved that forfeits the presence of God is meaningless, and other people will know when we are in close fellowship with God. The instructions on building the tabernacle is based on how sinful man can approach a Holy God. As I read those words I could remember thirty-eight years ago, Dr. Huey standing in front of our class and saying those very words. This was a wonderful book. Without this help the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Deut. could be dull and meaningless. The commintary made the story more than interesting. If was a joyful read.
