This is set up exceptionally well:
The books are set up by proficiency level, so the stories ARE understandable, even though they’ve added a few words to each story to expand your vocabulary.

1. Read the story straight through using context to get the main points.
2. Read through the short vocabulary at the end to learn the words added to expand your vocabulary.
3. Read the story again and see your progress!

There are links to a website with audio files so you can practice listening.

I’ve been learning on Duolingo for five months, but wasn’t making the progress I wanted. This book helped me move to longer pieces of text, and the stories are enjoyable.

Pretty good for beginners

A nice little graded A1 reader that has 10 stories with links to a website that has the audio and a little reading comprehension quiz for each story. The stories provide good vocabulary and grammar that are great for early beginners/late beginners. :) Would recommend.

Me Gusta Mucho Este Libro

Mi primer idioma fue español pero pasé hablando y aprendiendo inglés toda me vida en la escuela y solo hablaba español en casa con mi familia. Mi inglés fue mejorando y se hizo el idioma que hablo, leo, y comprendo mejor. El español me gusta y se defenderme en un conversación en español, pero de todas formas me gustaría mejorar mi hablado. Me gustaría poder leer más rápido. Hay muchas palabras que no entiendo cuando leo. Este libro me ayudó mucho. Me gustó leerlo. Lo recomiendo!

Good book to improve Spanish. The choice of bolded words (the ones the book provides a definition) is sometimes questionable. Why is "nosotros" in bold but not "suavemente"? The stories aren't interesting either (The ones on Duolingo are better), but they are certainly well-designed to improve vocabulary.

more confidence

I grew up with true fluent speaking parents that never spoke Spanish at home now I am almost 40 and still crave to be fluent myself. This book was a good confidence booster. And great practice.

Este libro es excelente para una persona nueva en español.

[Unable to speak in Spanish]
However, the stories are basic and less literary, more like excuses from a dialogue book.

Pero, ¡este libro es muy interesante y tiene un vocabulario que ayuda a la persona nueva en español!

Honestly this book is such a relief.. I've tried so many Spanish things tht were just boring or too hard but this one really works. The stories are short, fun and very interesting. You kinda forget that you're learning because you are so entertained.
What surprised me was that I started understanding more each day without forcing it. It's so well made compared to other beginner books. And the free stuff on their site makes it even better, I listened to the audio while reading and it helped me develop my listening skills.

Very good dual language reader. I really loved the stories, they are easy to understand. I used the audio on the website to read and listen at the same time.
