Years ago, after tragedy struck Jamie Lathan's family, fosterling Caitrin Fletcher was sent home, out of danger. Heartbroken, young Jamie never expected to see her again. He certainly never imagined he’d be called upon to escort her to be betrothed to another man.

But now, as their attraction reignites during the trip, Jamie's longing for Caitrin deepens, and he despairs to lose her again. The secret he hides, however, may prevent any chance for a future with her. Can Jamie find a way to claim her himself without starting a war involving three clans?

Caitrin is torn between her duty to make the marriage her father wants and her feelings for Jamie, the lad she’s loved for years. When she meets the man her father has chosen, her secret Highland talent tells her he cannot be trusted. What a wonderful story! Fraught with danger, intrigue, and romance.
Caitrin lost her mother when she was young, and her father thought it was best that she go to live with a neighboring clan. There were children her own age and the opportunity to learn what a lady should know.
What he didn't count on was his daughter's stubborn nature! She wanted to learn things the boys were taught. How to fight with a sword, shoot with a bow and arrow etc,. She learned a lot from the Lathans. But she has a secret she must hide at all costs.
Her abrupt departure from the Lathan Aerie was upsetting in the extreme. Skew had grown close to a few of the children, a couple of boys.
She wondered if she would ever see them again.
Years later, her father went off to negotiate her betrothal, as all father's did back in those times, he made the choice for her, for himself and for his clan, The Fletcher. Her wishes really didn't matter to him, but she told herself she would wait and see what kind of man the MacGregor was. His was a large keep, with and impressive army. She was to go to her father at once so the MacGregor could see her and decide if he wanted her for his wife.
But she needs escorted. Her father asked none other than the Lathan laird to escort her. Her old friend Toran! She used to chase him and his brother Jamie around as children. She learned a lot from those 2 boys. How to wield a sword. How to shoot am arrow straight and true. How to stand up for herself.
Would Toran remember her fondly or would he remember a pest of a girl?
She doesn't get the chance to find out! The Lathan laird has a wife close to her time so he sends an envoy, his brother, Jamie! The boy she had loved since she left their keep. This is going to be a long trip to her betrothed! Confusion of feelings makes for an interesting journey, and the MacGregor, her betrothed is even more interesting. She is immediately concerned because she feels the MacGregor isn't being truthful. I will avoid spoilers, but I really liked this book! There are twists you won't see coming! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

HIGHLAND TROTH by Willa Blair is an exciting fast paced Scottish Historical Romance with some Paranormal elements. #3 in the "Highland Talents" series, but can be read as a stand alone. See, "Highland Seer", "Highland Healer" and "Highland Gift" (1.5)novella. Set in against a 1502 Scotland backdrop.
Fast paced, adventure filled Scottish romance. Be ready to be swept away into the Scottish Highlands. Filled with danger, romance, secrets, intrigue, suspense, betrayal and passion.
This is Jamie Lathan and Caitrin Fletcher's story. Caitrin's secret talent is she can feel someone's feelings. Together, Jamie and Caitrin find not only Caitrin's intended isn't want he is supposed to be, but he is a danger to not only his intended but to her clan and Jamie's clan as well.
I loved the way Jamie is determined to protect Caitrin at all cost, including causing a war between clans. Caitrin, finds she has more courage than she first thought. Will Jamie and Caitrin find their happy ever after? You MUST read this beautifully written tale of intrigue, passion and romance. Ms. Blair is a wonderful storyteller who weave a bit of paranormal with realistic romance. She holds her readers in awe, as they seat on the edge of their seats reading. Well written with passion, emotion and character. Well done, indeed! I love this series, and can't wait to read the next Willa Blair story. Highly recommend this Scottish Historical Romance!

Highland Troth

It's been a while since I read the previous books in this series, but I must say, Highland Troth has a very different and unique story line. The strong and well developed characters in this story really add to the depth and uniqueness of the plot used in Highland Troth. I would highly recommend Jamie's story to anyone who loves romance, and Historical fiction, especially those who have read the other Highland Talents series and or other books by this wonderful author. Very inventive and enjoyable read.. I just never wanted to put the book down until I had finished it.

The third time was definitely the charm in this third book of the Highland Talents series. It is by far my favorite.

Caitrin Fletcher has a very special talent. She is able to detect when people are lying. One would think this would be a valuable gift, but no one will believe her. So what can she do when her father is forcing her to marry a man she knows is lying about everything? Unfortunately, her powers do not indicate why this man is lying or enlighten her of the dark secrets he's holding. Caitrin only knows that the man is dangerous and that she may have to spend the rest of her life with him.

Yikes! Monsters are real!

Lady Ellie Fletcher falls in love at an early age only to be sent far from the only man to hold her heart. She is now betrothed to a man who betrays himself to be a monster and must find a way to escape her fate to return to hearts desire. Jamie Lathan must escort Lady Ellie, the girl who has unknowingly held his heart for years, to her new betrothed while on a separate treaty negotiation mission! He must guard his feelings but at what cost?

Great

I truly enjoyed the series. I must say I saw a gentleman in a kilt yesterday and he did not resemble any of the men mentioned in the books (😏). Ah well, guess every man can’t be handsome, hilt well, etc.
