Echoes from the Past is my amusing tale of traveling with my children in an attempt to introduce them to ancient civilizations. First stop: Spain. Here the family admired the beauty and splendor of the Alhambra and the Great Mosque of Cordoba. Included are various interesting tales of the Moors and their remarkable civilization. I have woven an evocative tapestry of this time and place.

On the way home, we stop in London where we visit the British Museum to discover the ancient people of Mesopotamia. From writing, religion, and the law, to history, architecture, and mathematics, these were a people who offered many “firsts.” Though it is only in recent days the contributions of these people have been realized, there is a wealth to be learned from the few relics we do have.

A brief but vastly informative vacation, this trip exposed my family to many previously unknown people and places.

This is an informative book and highly recommended reading.
