It’s so good to be back with the gang of Gold Valley

4.5 stars

This had been a long anticipated read ever since Dallas made his appearance in Gold Valley all those years ago. Was it worth the wait? Yes, for so many different reasons.

First of all, I have always loved the character of Dallas even only small glimpses that I got. Seeing Dallas the leading man now was great. There was more to dig into his psyche and the trauma that he dealt with in his life after being in foster care. It was interesting to see that side to him, but it just made me love the character all the more because of that.

Second, it was great to return to the town of Gold Valley and its inhabitants. Whenever a past character appeared a smile was plastered on my face, and it reminded me of why I loved that series and this characters. I loved seeing them happy and thriving in their lives with their families. I loved the banter and teasing that went on because they were such this tight family unit. It made me want this gang even more and to have a second generation come along the way sometime in the future. This was just a big highlight having them included as much as they were.

Third, the romance between Sarah and Dallas was good, though not for the faint hearted because some intense topics were explored and shaped how their relationship developed overtime. Yes, they were partially together due to trauma, but that didn’t lessen the fact that they had this special love and bond from when they were children, and that continued on when they were reunited again. It did make you question if they had the healthiest of relationships, but that was discussed in the book which I really appreciated that they acknowledge this and confronted it. But in my opinion, no one else could fit one other the way that they did. They belong together, and they truly were soulmates, even though it was horrible circumstances that brought them together. The backbone of the relationship really was trust, caring, love, and just an overall bond. I really liked that. By the end, I was utterly satisfied with their romance and was worth the read that I had been waiting so long for.

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

This was a quick read and I picked it up because I love so many of the author’s books published under the Harlequin imprint.

There were two things that kept taking me out of the story: the lack of quotation marks when the character speaking has a separation of action, and the constant, often repetitive monologue of the FMC.

Dallas and Sarah's story was everything I had hoped it would be and more. I could not have wished for Dallas to have a better story. This story really had me in my feelings.

Dallas went through the foster system until he was fifteen and his bio father was found who didn't know of Dallas's existence. He was very angry at life and especially at the loss of Sarah being returned to her mother whose significant others caused Sarah harm. In Dallas's book we saw the return of his family and how they loved and supported him no matter what. After being separated from Sarah for 10 years she found him at his bull riding event. The years since they had last been together hadn't been as kind to Sarah and she was being stalked by her abuser who had been released from prison. Dallas was happy to have Sarah back in his life and instantly went into protector mode to keep her safe. The way these two tried to ignore their attraction only for their jealousy to throw them together after Sarah's 21st birthday and the steam they create together, mam yes please. 🔥🔥🔥

I hadn't read anything by Maisey Yates in a while, so it was nice to return to Gold Valley for a visit and see how everyone was doing!

I liked reading about Dallas and Sarah and how their close friendship endured, despite a 10-year separation after she was removed from their shared foster home. While he had a happy ending with his family, she didn't.

Ten years later, after they'd both searched for each other nonstop, she's making it on her own as best she can, waiting tables, and he's a competition bull rider. Thanks to a local rodeo, they're able to come back together.

Whatever force drew them together in foster care was no less potent as adults, only this time, they have the power to make their own decisions.

Another great story by Yates. Now I want to go back and read the books featuring Colt and Maverick! I mean, seriously! Who doesn't love a sexy cowboy?

Dallas by Maisey Yates is an emotional, friends to lovers read.
Dallas & Sarah were in foster care together. They looked out for one another and were very close, until Sarah is sent back to her mom.
Years later, Dallas is a successful Bull Rider, and still thinks of Sarah everyday.
Sarah has not had an easy life since leaving Dallas, and when she is threatened by a monster from her past she seeks out Dallas to help her.
These two had such rough childhoods, and are still greatly affected by trauma. But I loved how they came together.
I loved this book and can't wait for more in The Bull Rider's Series.

is this the same Maisey Yates who wrote the Four Corners Range series??

I’m sorry, but Yates has forgotten how to write, and the editing team has also fallen down on the job. This story is told in the first chapter and nothing else happens. All you get is the characters’ inner monologue and angst, which I have all in my own without reading a book. Did not hold my interest so I DNF.

Meant to be together

Loved the story about Dallas. He had had a hard time in foster care. When Dallas and Sarah were separated it was emotionally difficult for them both. So when they finally meet up after 10 years apart, they realise that they were always destined to be together and have a fulfilling and stable loving relationship to build a future of happily ever after.

Love a Great Cowboy Romance

I am just a huge fan of Maisey Yates and her writing style. The story of Dallas and Sarah will go down as one of my favorites. While it is a standalone, I loved the little visits from characters featured in Yates’ other cowboy romances. Keep writing because I plan to keep reading!

loved it!

For me this book has “all the feels”. I enjoyed the dual point of view as the inner dialogue gave a good picture of Dallas and Sarah’s thoughts without being overdone. I also liked that each supported the other and gave space to their different traumas.

I am so happy we got to see Dallas grown up. I really enjoyed this heartfelt book about his journey back to Sarah. Also loved getting a glimpse back into Bennett and Kaylee’s life. I highly recommend this book.
