Some love stories deserve a second draft…

Six months ago, Tess Livingston disappeared without a word, leaving behind her long-term workaholic boyfriend and her soul-sucking corporate job in Nashville. Starting over isn’t easy, but anything is better than always coming second to Dylan’s ambition.

Dylan Morris thought their twelve years together meant something, but with Tess gone, he’s forced to confront what his obsession with the corner office has really cost him. Now, he’s in Tess’s new city—and her new job—with one desperate plan: win back the only woman who ever mattered.

As they’re forced to work together, they realize their problems run deeper than missed dinners and forgotten birthdays. Now they face an impossible retreat back to the safe distance that kept them apart, or take a risk to discover what a new version of their love could look like.

Love V2 is a standalone second-chance romance about finding yourself before you can find your way back to love. This steamy workplace romance is perfect for readers who love mental health rep, escaping the corporate grind, groveling MMCs, and second chances.

This is the second full-length novel in the Occupational Hazards series, where all's fair in love and the workplace…as long as no one calls HR.

3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars!
I love a second chance romance, and this was a fun one.

Thank you to BookSirens and author Julia Fisher for providing me with the eARC of "Love.V2". I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Tess left Dylan, her boyfriend of 12 years, after realizing she would never be as important as his job. She has now created a new life for herself, with a new job, in a new city. All is well until she discovers that her company is getting a new CEO- Dylan.
She discovers that Dylan never got over her, and desperately wants to earn her trust back and prove that he is a changed man.

This was pretty good.
I liked Tess and Dylan's relationship, and I especially loved Dylan's commitment to making her happy again.
He truly put so much effort into doing things right the second time around, and it was tooooo cute.
This is exactly what I want to see in this kind of story.
All the yearning and all the princess treatment. Yes ma'am.

If I am being honest here, I think Tess might be the problem?
I know it is meant to be the other way around, but I really think she is kind of the villain.
At times she really did not communicate and just totally lost it anytime he had to do something work-related.
She felt a bit immature, which started to get bit frustrating after a while.

Enjoyable story overall! I really think a lot of people would like this one.

I think I should volunteer to be captain of second chance romance fan club because I just keep eating them up!! I got this book as an ARC and was absolutely savoring every page. Julia’s writing is easy to follow but with these nuggets of wisdom and hilarity dropped throughout.

Okay now for the characters:
I LOVED how this started off as Dylan groveling, determined to get Tess back, but I would argue the most realistic/enjoyable aspect of this book was when they both realize it takes two people to destroy a relationship, and that Tess, too, must take accountability for her part.

Favorite quotes:
“I’d rather have a lifetime of Tuesdays with you than Saturdays with anyone else.”

“She told me she’d fight for me. I hadn’t expected a warrior. I should have”

I was so excited to read this book, and when I got the ARC I had to dive in right away. In this one, we follow Dylan and Tess as they give their love a second chance. I'm not the biggest fan of this trope, but the author managed to make me love it!

The way Dylan was so determined to win her back, never backing down, was everything. I saw myself in Tess in many moments, and I loved how they were able to handle everything with good communication, even though their situation was a tough one. If you love a good second-chance, workplace romance with mental health representation, please pick this one up!

Much like I expected too…I loved this book! Julia’s writing is so FUN and it feels fresh but also familiar in such a comforting way. I love this universe she’s created! Seeing Tess finding her place with Lainey and her people made my heart so happy! Tess and Dylan have my whole heart. They have such a deep connection and seeing it play out in so many different ways - past, present, when things were good, when things were bad - it really was a full picture of their love!!

I love a second chance SO MUCH. And this was honestly so good. Both Dylan and Tess had things to work through before they could really come back together. And I thought the journey was perfect for them! It wasn’t easy and there was some back and forth, and they were both scared but also knew how much they loved each other so they wanted things to work SO BADLY. And I think Julia wrote it so well!

They were GOOD together. When they decided to just date, to learn about each other again! It was SO CUTE! They were taking it slow, and doing all the little things and it was exactly what they needed. But when they then went deeper…recognizing how hurt they had been, how hard things had been for both of them…it was so good to see them really start to heal and make changes!

Thank you so much to Julia Fisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review!

Very cute second chance book about being in a relationship and doing what matters to show your other half that you love them and appreciate them. Dylan and Tessa have been together for years. As the years have gone by, they’ve began to drift apart. Missed dates, birthdays, empty promises you got it. Tessa finally gets fed up and leaves Dylan, with a note in her absence. After some time goes by and both of them have time to reflect on themselves and what went wrong in their relationship. Dylan makes the decision to get the love of his life back. We learn a valuable lesson in this story, one party can’t be the blame for both sides. I do love a good grovel story where the main male character was the one to mess up and he fixes it. I don’t however like when the main female character has a high horse attitude and makes herself out to be the main victim who was hurt. Tessa kind of gave off those vibes in most of the book which threw me off a bit. In the end though she did change her outlook on things and it made their relationship even better and stronger. Add in some steamy and heartfelt conversations and this book was a good read.

I received a free ARC copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

My first Julia Fisher novel, but definitely not my last. Told in alternating chapters, Tess recently left longtime boyfriend Dylan, fed up with his workaholic ways. I adored both these main characters and their electric chemistry was off the page! I was torn with choosing a side as I could see both points of view and no one was the true villain in the relationship. Everyone wants to have someone fight for them in a relationship and it was entertaining reading. The pacing was spot on and that’s a big thing to me. Back and forth banter was fun and the side characters fun (their books in authors backlog). Thanks to BookSirens I was able to read this ARC and leave a review freely.

Tess and Dylan are two flawed people who fell in love young, lost sight of what was most important, and then fought so hard to get it back. I loved the flashback chapters so much and felt like they came at exactly the right moment. Julia Fisher is an auto-buy author for me and I can't recommend this enough!!

A beautiful second chance romance about finding how to grow with the person you love.
Tess was such an easy character to relate to.
I stayed up way too late to finish reading. The moment I started I knew I wouldn’t be able to put it down.

Reading Love.V2 was like opening an old letter you thought you’d thrown away — full of words you weren’t ready to hear the first time. It hit me in a deeply personal way, because it wasn’t just about falling in love — it was about remembering why we love, even when things get messy, painful, or complicated.

There’s a vulnerability in these pages that feels real. Raw. Familiar.

What touched me the most wasn’t just the romance, but the recognition. The quiet heartbreak of growing apart. The weight of unspoken words. The ache of realizing someone knows you — like really knows you — even when you’ve forgotten yourself.

The author captures that unique kind of emotion you only feel when love is both your greatest strength and your sharpest wound.

This book made me feel nostalgic for moments I’ve never lived, but somehow still understood. It reminded me that love is sometimes awkward, imperfect, and terrifying — but also worth fighting for.

If you’re the kind of person who believes in slow-burning, soul-deep connection, this one will sit in your chest long after the last page.

Somehow Julia Fisher manages to write stuff I can't stand, and make me enjoy it. (Eg, my literal exes name as the mc in one of the previous books 😭)
This time it's the second chance. I don't forgive people easily, you mess with me, you're done. There's no way I'm trusting you again. So second chance isn't my favourite genre.
But let me tell you, the way it was done not only broke my heart and patched it back uo about a thousand times, it was also so understandable.
We see how the characters have grown and learned from their mistakes and are so mich better together now.
Nonetheless, my heart was torn out by this book. And ten minutes later I was giggeling.

Overall, BIG big recommendation, go read it! You won't regret it!!
And I knoooow writing takes time, but I can't wait to see what she does next! Until then you'll find me rereading all her previous books- again

"But if she didn’t feel anything for me, this wouldn’t hurt, right? If it was over, she’d be able to look at me. She was treating me like I was the sun, glancing everywhere but directly at my face."

I loved this second chance/workplace romance so much! Julia did an amazinggg job of writing the characters, emotion, charm, trauma...everything! This book resonated with me so deeply. How often do we become complacent in our lives & stop fighting for those we love?

I had visceral responses to the words on these pages & didn't want to put it down! I loved the chase, the accountability, and soul searching that Tessa & Dylan go through. Very well done!

Thank you for the ARC, I can't wait to read the other standalones in this series!

This is the story of Tess Livingston and Dylan, college sweethearts. Tess had come to college not knowing a single person and was so naive. Although due to her upbringing, she had been exposed to a lot, just none of it was ever appropriate. So, she had always been alone to navigate the world despite there being adults in the household. Tess was so determined to leave the state to get away from them to go to college that she did make it. So she made a list for each goal to achieve it. Being in college didn't stop those lists, mind you, but now they were lists of things she wanted to experience that she never had the luxury to do in high school. Tess was like a baby fawn learning to walk. Luckily, her roommate was kind, protective, and savvy. She had met Dylan in her English class and felt comfortable around him. And since Vanna was ill she felt that going alone would be okay. On her way, several girls were heading out saying it was a bust that they didn't even know how to run a keg.

When she had been backing up to get out of her way, she found a hose half on the ground and part of it in the bushes. She picked it up. Just before stepping in she hears the guys arguing about the keg missing a piece. She pipes in, “Are you guys looking for this?” Dylan turns and there she was. Tess Livingston. She had come. And she was holding the beer tap. Mac raised his fists in the air, bellowing, “BEER ANGEL!!” Dylan guided Tess by the elbow, through the packed bodies in the living room. The kitchen wasn’t any better, but at least it was just his brothers in there, and he could trust them not to step on her. What became comical is the fact that none of them knew how to tap a keg. And kept asking if we try this, will it blow up? Several times by various frat bros. Finally, Tess took pity on them and tapped the keg for them, but taught them for next time. Giving their ‘Beer Angel’ the first Red Solo cup of beer. After holding it for too long Dylan asked what was wrong, she asked if she could tell him a secret.

He told her, ‘Her secrets are safe with him. She told him, “I hate beer.” She proceeded to tell him about the list. One of the things to do: Ask a guy out. “It’s perfectly acceptable for women to ask men out.” “I never said it wasn’t. I’m just admiring the set of brass balls you got over there.” “Excuse me?” “You heard me. Brass. Fuxking. Balls.

TWELVE YEARS LATER:
They had ended up together and working at the same company, she as a graphic artist and he as a contract negotiator, and the hand-picked choice for the CEO of the company. However, how much had he given up to reach for this goal? Who was it truly for? He can pretend he did it for Tess like his father has continuously been brainwashing him to believe. But hello she is an art major, yet, the 3-story home he said he bought her is a palette of white and grays. Where was any splash of color? Not to mention the girl came from nothing, think she cares, if it was fancy? Do you really think she cares about where or in what she lives? As long as he is with her. I would have said she might have still had a small light of faith and wanted to believe in you. But once again he had put his job before her. After promising her for her birthday that he would take her to a rare occasion to view this artist she loves and meet her.

Although, the business trip was extended from two days to ten. When he returned Tess wasn’t around, so he assumed she was out with friends. He looked in a few rooms downstairs then his father called, and he was speaking to him. Let me stop it right there, why is he bothering with a phone call from his father before looking for his girlfriend? Very telling in itself. He still is not getting it but he will. You see when he was putting dinner from the freezer to the oven a paper floated to the ground, and he just left it and kept talking. His dad once again praised his outstanding achievement but not good enough to do better to get that CEO. The minute he says, ‘It's not that easy, Tess is already unhappy with his time management balance act that is lacking.’ Right away his dad starts bad-mouthing Tess and complaining about how she is not grateful for all she has after he practically took her off the streets. Seriously? Like she did nothing herself to get herself out of her whole life alone. Dylan just tried to keep the peace with his father. By the way, he was airing his own shortcomings because he had fumbled badly in his own marriage to Dylan’s mother.

He wanted his son to be equally miserable as him. When he abruptly gets off the phone because his boss called to congratulate him on the deal from his trip. He then says is Tess there, so I can congratulate her on her new promotion too? Dylan acted like he knew what he was talking about, but he was dying inside because he didn't. Then he says the note on the floor. Tess, told him they both knew that their breakup had been coming for a long time. In fact overdue. Don’t try to contact her. She would have been long by the time he finally got back to Nashville. Please don’t try to contact me. It’s for the best that we both just move on. — Tess. I loved this book, in all its messiness.

Thanks to BookSirens and Julia Fisher for the ARC of this book, this review is my honest and voluntary take!

Tess has been in a long-term relationship with Dylan, they’ve been together for twelve years, ever since meeting in college. But one day, she disappears. No warning, just gone from the life they built together. Rather, the life Dylan built for them. That disappearance becomes a much-needed wake-up call for Dylan, who follows her to Chicago, where she’s started over and landed a job at Jinx. Now, set to become the next CEO of the company Tess works for, he finds himself forced to work alongside her, doing everything he can to win her back.

A lot of the book focuses on how Dylan failed Tess, how his workaholic tendencies left her feeling neglected, unappreciated, and unseen. But what makes this story hit is that Dylan owns it. He takes accountability. And through the dual POV format (we shift between Tess and Dylan, past and present), we also begin to understand his side, how his actions were driven by a desire to give Tess everything she never had. That doesn’t excuse his emotional absence, but it gives the story a deeper emotional complexity. Dylan uses this second chance not just to try again, but to show up in a way he never did before. He listens. He grows. He learns to meet Tess’s emotional needs and works hard to become a better communicator and partner.

Tess, meanwhile, has every right to feel hurt and unappreciated. But part of her arc is realizing that Dylan wasn’t the only one who fell short. The survival mechanisms she relied on her whole life (pulling away, retreating when things got hard) were no longer serving her. They were, in fact, limiting her emotional maturity and her ability to navigate conflict in a healthy way. Through this process, Tess comes to see that there are two people in a relationship, and she too caused pain. That walking away isn’t always the answer. That staying, confronting the hard things, working through the mess, that’s where the real love is. And their love? It’s worth it.

What I found really enjoyable about this second-chance romance was how closely it’s depicted to what can happen in a real long-term relationship. Dylan and Tess didn’t only have to rediscover themselves as a couple, but as individuals. They lost themselves somewhere along the way of their relationship, and this second opportunity gave them a chance to discover themselves in and out of a relationship. Which is something I can appreciate from a romance story. It shows that love isn’t perfect, and that’s okay.

I'm generally not drawn to second-chance romance novels. In fact, it’s a subgenre I tend to avoid, with only rare exceptions catching my interest. However, Julia Fisher caught my attention a while ago, so I didn't hesitate to request Love v.2 to see what else she had up her sleeve.

As previously said, the second-chance trope isn’t my favourite; in fact, the majority I’ve gone through tend to be… trite tripe. And yet, while this particular second-chance book might not have the heart-pounding thrill of the first meeting to the explosive chemistry I'd expect from a typical romance-book structure, it offers a tad bit more realism about how life interferes once the initial, rosy first flushes of love fade.

In fact, Love V.2 starts at rock bottom with some of the past interspersed in the narrative, as agony and hurt take centerstage when two people sort of try to repair their former lives together. There’s the grovelling bit, which is a satisfying part I enjoy, except that sometimes it isn’t enough because it’s also a bit of an uphill journey both characters have to consciously make in their own ways. Julia Fisher takes this and runs with it, and weaves that into a part of a relationship that’s new yet old at the same time.

Dylan/Tess have after all, been together forever and working their way back up to each other again means that some difficult conversations must be had and some unpleasant compromises and adjustments must be made.

Thankfully it didn’t exactly veer into unending angst territory though I was surprised at a bit of a character turn on Tess’s end towards the last part of the book, as though a switch had suddenly been flipped. In all though, the not-quite rinse/repeat version 2 is an easy read but perhaps all the more satisfying because it injects renewed hope into dead, stale times.

Love.V2 is a novel that allows the reader deep into the broken 12 year relationship between Dylan and Tess. She has walked away from Dylan to take a new job in Chicago hoping to find contentment and success while recovering from the sense of abandonmen she felt while Dylan pursued his corporate success. Dylan is determined to understand why she left and reignite the love they shared.

Julia Fisher uses a dual point of view to tell the heartbreaking story of Dylan and Tess's lost love with the use of hard conversation and personal reflections. She is a fantastic writer who creates authentic main characters who touch our hearts. Both Dylan and Tess have personal baggage that plays a big part in their personalities and as they discuss each other's actions through the years, they are also forced to analyze their own behaviors. Dylan moves to Chicago so he can set in motion his plan to win back Tess. He tries to show Tess how much she means to him with small daily gestures and supporting her in her work. Tess is not sure that she can trust him but through it all she realizes that she has missed having him in her life. Of course, missteps are taken, feelings are hurt, and unaviodable circumstances threaten their movement towards reuniting.

I love how Julia builds the Occupational Hazards world through side character friendships. She also creates believable conflicts with characters in the story as well as introducing new friends. It all works together so well that I am now an avid fan and look forward to reading more of her brilliant books!

It’s been a while since I’ve picked up a romance novel, and Love v.2 by Julia Fisher reminded me exactly why I love the genre. This was also my first time diving into a workplace romance, and let me just say—I’m hooked!

From the very first page, I was drawn in. Usually, it takes me a few chapters to settle into a book, but Love v.2 had me hooked from the prologue. Julia Fisher’s writing is effortless and full of heart, capturing the tension, chemistry, and emotional undercurrents between the characters in a way that felt so real.

There were moments I was literally giggling and kicking my feet while reading—something I haven’t done in ages! The banter, the slow burn, the awkward-yet-charming workplace moments… it was all perfectly balanced. The characters felt like people I could know in real life, with flaws, ambitions, and vulnerability that made their romance feel genuine rather than overdone.

Also, I definitely need to try a lavender latte soon (hint hint). ☕💜

If you’re looking for a sweet, modern, and emotionally satisfying romance with a fun workplace twist, this is a book that belongs on your TBR. Julia Fisher nailed it with Love v.2, and I can’t wait to read what she writes next!

I really enjoyed this book; it was a solid 4 stars for me. Second-chance romance is one of my favorite tropes, and both main characters here were realistically rendered, likable and relatable. Dylan and Tess have loved each other for twelve years, but Dylan lost himself in work, trying to provide for Tess, which she didn't understand or appreciate. She felt unseen and pushed aside, and she was also miserable at her job. Their connection frayed and broke, and she left him, moving to a new city and a job that she really loved. Months later, he followed and the two of them slowly rebuilt their relationship. They both needed growth and a change in perspective: Dylan to realize all the job success meant nothing without Tess, and Tess herself needed to understand and appreciate Dylan's efforts and stop with her endless people-pleasing and allowing others to fight her battles. They both needed to remember what it meant to have new experiences apart and fun together. I really enjoyed the character and relationship development, both of which were given layers of complexity.

This book offers one of the most accurate portrayals of what happens in a long term relationship in your 20-30 's that I have read. Meeting 'the one' when you're young and trying to establish your careers, gain financial security and dealing with those pesky new adult insecurities. It is a lot and this author wrote it well.It does exactly what I long for most in romance and digs deep into what the relationship is like after the couple get together.

I was routing for the main characters, whose journey to find a secure and lasting relationship was full of twists and perceived hurts.

There is a redemption arc here but some readers will be glad to hear there is no cheating. Just a painful but engaging story of what happens after you get the girl or guy….

I hovered over 5*, I found that the beginning and end of the book really engaging but I felt a little lost a little bit in the middle. However this is a great romance and I loved the self awareness and character development that felt so true to life.

Another great book from Julia Fisher!

I just love, love her writing!

Her characters are soo relatable and she translates emotions so well on page, hitting EXACTLY where it's needed.

In this book, Dylan returns home from a trip only to discover that he has returned to a pristine home. Tess is gone, she's left him... I could practically feel the blood drain from his face at this realisation.

Tess is starting over in a new city, with new responsibilities. Doing her best to get on without the love of her life and overcoming imposter syndrome.

Out of the blue she is brought face to face with her past (Dylan) and he will NOT be ignored!.

Our guy was NOT playing! He has come to GET 👏 HIS 👏 GIRL 👏

Whoop! 🙌

Follow the start of their relationship and it's slow deterioration.

Are they both to blame or is Dylan solely responsible?

The banter is great and so is the balance of steam/spice.

I highlighted so much!

Recommend if you love a second chance with an amazing grovel!

I will definitely be re-reading this book in the near future!

Many thanks to Booksirens and author for the opportunity to Read this ARC and share my thoughts.

I found this to be a refreshing and nuanced take on a second chance romance. Nobody is the same person at thirty that they were at eighteen, and Dylan and Tess have drifted apart rather than grown together due to their differing life goals and the deep-seated behaviour instilled by their upbringings. I really liked how the basic concept of Dylan pulling out all the stops to atone for his workaholism develops into them rediscovering what’s really important to them both and, crucially, leads into an examination of the more complex issues that had infiltrated their relationship. Both characters feel sympathetic and relatable, the two-steps-forward-one-step-back nature of their reconnection realistically portrayed against the backdrop of a slightly stressful work situation, and it was very easy to metaphorically cheer them on towards a stronger relationship and a happy ever after.
Thanks to Booksirens and the author for the advance review copy. All opinions are my own.

Love.V2 is such a great second-chance romance. Tess and Dylan have been together since college, but years of late nights at the office, missed birthdays, and broken promises finally push Tess to walk away. Six months later, she’s building a new life in Chicago… until Dylan shows up at her office determined to prove he’s changed.

What really worked for me was how real their relationship felt. Julia Fisher doesn’t gloss over the hard stuff- there are messy conversations, old resentments, and plenty of fear about falling into the same patterns again. But there’s also so much effort, especially from Dylan, who honestly had me swooning with the way he fought for her. The flashbacks added so much and showed the good and the bad that brought them to this point. The pacing was spot on and the banter made me smile. Plus, there’s a bit of spice, which definitely didn’t hurt.

Julia Fisher has become one of those authors I know I can always count on for stories that stick with me. This one is really about finding yourself and then finding your way back to each other. If you’re into groveling MMCs, workplace drama, and romance that’s got heartache and hope, you’re going to love this one.

Julie Fisher has written a great second chance love story for this one. She had me surprised with a few twists, didn't fall into the standard tropes, and created excellent romantic and physical chemistry between Tess and Dylan. I wanted to keep reading to see how they would work everything out. Their lack of communication was their downfall, but this is what they work through as a couple. My favorite was the honest reflection that both characters experience. Their individual arcs complemented their romantic arc well without one overshadowing the other. The flashback scenes threw me at first, but were purposeful and well integrated throughout the novel.

Love. V2
By Julia Fisher

Tess and Dylan have been together since the start of college—twelve years of shared life, memories, and love. But when Dylan returns from yet another work trip, he comes home to an empty house and a note from Tess saying she’s leaving. Just like that, the love of his life is gone.

Tess has taken a job in Chicago—a branch of the company where she and Dylan once worked together—in search of her own happiness. But six months later, the loneliness hasn’t faded. Then Dylan walks into her office, determined to win her back. With a lavender latte in hand and a promise that he’s no longer married to his work, Dylan says he’s changed. But can Tess trust him again?

I loved Love. V2—it’s one of the best second-chance romances I’ve read. The relationship dynamic felt authentic, layered with both tenderness and tension.
Julia Fisher skillfully breaks down the realities of love: it’s never one-sided, and it’s rarely simple. The emotional honesty in her storytelling made this book unforgettable.

I gave Love. V2 4.5 out of 5 stars, and I cannot wait to see what Julia writes next.

*Love.V2* by Julia Fisher is an emotional, slow-burn romance that blends heartfelt vulnerability with palpable chemistry. The story follows Tess and Dylan, once inseparable, now broken apart; navigating unexpected reunions, unspoken regrets, and the messy tangle of lingering love. Fisher’s dual timelines and alternating perspectives draw you deep into both their past spark and present tension, making every glance and word charged with meaning. The writing is vivid and immersive, with dialogue that feels authentic and characters whose flaws make them achingly real. It’s a captivating exploration of second chances, heartbreak, and the courage to rewrite your own love story.

I absolutely loved this! A second chance romance that felt like there was genuine growth, love and work to put a relationship back together. You can see straight away that Dylan has grown and matured but then you see throughout the book how he personalises that to Tess and how Tess comes to realise she has her own part to play - I love that we saw it wasn't all a one-sided reason that their relationship broke down and that they were both willing to put in the work.

I enjoyed the characters, the banter and the general storyline - Julia Fisher really does write excellent romances where the romance is fantastic but so is the storyline! I feel like the flashback chapters were spaced really well to give maximum impact without detracting from the pacing.

Listen, I normally can't stand a 3rd Act Breakup, so I stay away from Second Chance Romance, BUT I have loved every book in the Occupational Hazards series so far, so I am going to eat them like candy. All that to say, Dylan was the first MMC I would say did an appropriate level of groveling on the page. And the finale, couldn't take it, the best. Julia Fisher even manages to make the side characters pop out from the page. I love the banter she gets in her books. The cafe scene with all of the Chicago characters we met in the previous books was one of my favorites. It still had a bit too much miscommunication and loose ends that didn't discussed on page for me to fully five start but I did have a good time. A heart warming second chance, workplace romance! The story was thoroughly thought out and I fell in love with the characters. They both had moments of being oblivious to their own faults or how they contributed to a situation but they grew and learned from it and opened their minds to seeing other perspectives and growing as an individual and in their relationship so it didn't feel annoying. I loved that the story has adults finding out who they are outside of work because so much of adult life seems to revolve around work and it can be hard to see past it and truly make a life that isn't just going to work and exercising. The characters made me want to follow their lead. Thoroughly enjoyed everything about it and am so glad I received an advanced reader copy to read this story sooner!

While second chance romance is my favorite trope, I didn’t feel a strong connection between Dylan and Tess. I feel like I needed more of their backstory than I got. I also thought their conflict seemed to be overcome rather easily. That being said, the last third of the book was much more compelling to me than the first part. When it was revealed that Dylan hadinternal conflicts that drove his actions and reactions, I became more invested in his story

. I also felt that Tess’s motivations were either not well defined or weak. That’s not to say that I didn’t get some enjoyment from reading Love, V2, but Hearts on the Table set my expectations a bit high. I would give this book 3 1/2 stars.

A beautiful secondchance romance! I adore how Julia Fisher is able to write about real life worries couples go through. Not every relationship is always sunshine and roses, and sometimes you have to work hard and fight for what and who you love. The characters growth Tess went through was incredibly inspiring, and I felt that on such a personal level. This book had the perfect amount of emotional rollercoasters, sassy banter, and just enough spice to keep the reader hooked.

Anything by Julia Fisher will always be a must-read for me!
