I found this book in a thrift store and had to buy it. I was never able to solve all the puzzles in the game and was very curious to find out how to do it. It's been years ago since I played the game but the book has loads of printscreen pictures from the game so I recognised a lot. The book not only contains the puzzles but a fun playthrough written like a story. And now I'm going to dig up The 7th guest CD-rom to give the puzzles another go!

This is a strange book for an even stranger game. I like how it's done in a narrative, rather than simply a walkthrough for the game. I kind of wish all strategy guides were like that, as it would make them more of a novel instead of a downpour of information. At least done after the info overload, anyway. The game itself is good and very challenging, despite being wholly creepy and unsettling. The strategy guide is also well-done and well-worth reading. Especially if, like me, you got stuck a ridiculous amount of times and had to have the game solve the puzzle for you more than once. I lost count of how many times Stauf teased/annoyed me with "feeling lonely" and laughing at me in the maze puzzle. I wished I'd had this book then so I could have found my way through it a little easier.
