Healing isn’t linear—Tyler Lynn knows this saying all too well. Having been on the run from his destructive family for a month now, he finds the quiet, wintry atmosphere of Indra Academy unnerving. The dust seems to have settled after he and his friends escaped the magic realm of Derngate with their lives, but not all can remain still. Spirits under the school beckon the new Assembly of Six forward, whispering that their work isn’t done yet.

Healing isn’t linear—this is a saying Oliver Stylus cannot wrap his head around. Grappling with the reality of disability while trying to save the world has him torn every way, and he can only handle so much pressure. The past is returning to haunt him, literally, as a mission for the Assembly of Six leads him back to his home state California. Old faces and new creatures wait to greet him and his friends on the other side.

In search of the vital water and solar necklaces, everyone in the Assembly of Six must be prepared to confront the ghosts of their past. If they don’t succeed, they might never be able to move on to the future.

Reinvented is one of those rare cases where I think the sequel is better than the original. If Indra Academy: Reborn is the original 2001 Shrek, Reinvented is Shrek two. The originals are always a classic and set up the story and characters. But the second iteration taps into the characters on a deeper level, explores their insecurities, and grows upon their weaknesses. I am talking about both Shrek and Indra Academy obviously. However, I would argue the writer of Reinvented does a better job at writing dynamic characters with thought provoking character development. Shrek writers, show me a gay ogre amputee who struggles with imposter syndrome and then we’ll talk.

I could write a whole book about the character development Oliver and Tyler go through. But I don’t need to. Because there’s already two excellent books written about that exact thing!! Reinvented made me laugh, cry, and kick my feet. I'm a sucker for a best friends to enemies to lovers trope, and this book delivered that and more. I couldn’t be more excited for the third and final Indra Academy.

Indra Academy: Reinvented is a book that grounded me in a time of change and chaos. Applying to colleges and going into my senior year of high school is a lot, but Nurit’s books always transport me back to simpler times. Whether it’s lovable characters that make me feel like she’s been reading my journal or scenes that make me want to curl up next to a crackling fire, Indra Academy never disappoints. I am normally a slow reader, but I finished Indra Academy: Reinvented in less than a month, barreling through the last 150 pages in a day. Reinvented never got slow for me. I was constantly captivated by the plot, and felt like a little kid again as I told myself “one more chapter” each night. I’ve grown up with Nurit’s characters throughout the years, and now that I’m older than them, reading their stories makes me feel so nostalgic. The representation in this book series is phenomenal, and Nurit does such an amazing job portraying each character with all their flaws on display. This book will break your heart and mend it back together all within 500 pages. If you like classic fantasy, found family, and an escape from reality, Indra Academy: Reinvented is the book for you. I’ve been honored to get the opportunity to read the book before it was published, so thank you Nurit for letting me be on this journey.

In many book series book 2 would be a bridge that would bring the series together for book 3. In some cases, the book itself can be its own voice. Book 2, has indeed proven to be its own voice and has grown beyond book 1 itself.

This book has proven that book series can get better by the second book, and it doesn't have to be a bridge between series.

What I loved about the first book was that it left such a lasting impression on me. The characters were memorable and felt like home. Continuing through with the story it indeed brought this feeling back. Reading and seeing these characters like a movie in my head plays out.

Out of the two, Book 2 has become one of my favorites this year. Bypassing book 1 by a landslide.

When I mean this book will feel like home; I mean that it will make you giggle and laugh, tug and tear at your heartstrings, and hug you deeply. Nurit's writing has grown a lot and the characters flow smoothly over time. They will feel like they're jumping straight from the page.

As before, I don't want to spoil the book for anyone else. But I will definitely say you will enjoy it from start to finish.

Now how about book 3? Please?

it felt good returning to the world of IA in book two!! picking right off from where reborn ended, we’re given an even deeper look into the characters and their mission. oliver struggling to learn when to admit he needs help, and tyler finding out what it means to belong somewhere for the first time…….. their development was strong and i just wanna give these boys a hug 😭🙏

i had a fun time diving into the new world building regarding the salkum and laiken, and the sprinkle of romance in this book had me kicking my feet and grinning like an idiot (donahue dailor, you are a LEGEND…………) while a bit on the slower-paced side, reinvented is a strong sequel that is guaranteed to tug at your heartstrings and leave you rooting for these kids. excited to see the story’s conclusion in the final book!!!
