Forever Love #2

Niente sentimenti: Un romance new adult, angst e standalone (Serie Forever Love Vol. 2)

Rate this book

Siobhan Davis has done it again: No Feelings Involved is another wonderful read I devoured in a single sitting.

By this point, it should be no surprise to hear I’ve devoured the latest Siobhan Davis release, considering how I do so with each new release. In fact, the only Siobhan Davis release I have yet to devour is The Warrior Princess, something I plan to amend despite my mixed feelings toward the Alinthia series. Each time there is news of a new Siobhan Davis release, the book goes on my to-read list quicker than you can find out the title of the book. With No Feelings Involved, we had my usual reaction to a Siobhan Davis book.

We had my excitement, we had my need to read, we had my devouring of the book, and now we have my impatience as I await the next Siobhan Davis release.

I’m going to be completely honest, however, and say I was a wee bit worried before going into this one. No Feelings Involved tells the story of a character we were introduced to in When Forever Changes, and a part of me was a bit annoyed with the way we were given details but no answers in When Forever Changes. It felt like a bit of a cheat, a way to ensure we’d pick up No Feelings Involved, and it took a little bit away from the emotion of When Forever Changes. I’m in the minority with this, but it bugged me. Nevertheless, I was intrigued by No Feelings Involved.

As a quick aside, I would like to point out you do not need to have read When Forever Changes to understand and enjoy No Feelings Involved. Although we see the characters across both books, they’re complete standalone stories. Either way you approach the books, you’ll be left with intrigue about the other. As I read When Forever Changes first, I had the intrigue of what would play out in No Feelings Involved. If you read No Feelings Involved first you’ll have a few spoilers for When Forever Changes, but you’ll still be intrigued to find out more.

Despite being intrigued about No Feelings Involved, my worry was twofold. In addition to it feeling like a bit of a copout, a way to ensure there would be readers of No Feelings Involved, I was a bit worried about the storyline. I’m over the whole virginity loss storyline, it no longer interests me. It’s giving me crazy expectations for the future, and I know they’re as false as false can be. I can deal with characters being virgins, but when the loss of a person’s virginity is made to be such a big deal I find myself rolling my eyes. They rolled a bit harder with this one when I found out our female lead wanted to lose it before she went to college. My mind was doing the sarcastic ‘love, I finished my undergraduate degree, my masters, and now am doing my PhD with it still intact – don’t worry, you can still have the college experience without needing to ride a guy’. In other words, my jaded view of the way society views sex and the loss of virginity had me a bit unsure of this one.

I know Siobhan Davis has a way of winning me over, however, and I was ready for such to be the case with this one. With the first chapter I was unsure – if Ryan had come up to me with those lines, I would have laughed in his face and said no (even if I was as determined as Summer to lose it) – but once the story got going I was sucked right in. It became the usual Siobhan Davis experience, by which I mean I was addicted.

I fell in love with both our characters and had so much fun with their story. Despite working things out in advance, although I was not shocked by the details that came forward and some of the events that played out, I was hooked. No Feelings Involved did not have the heavy emotional impact or overwhelming angst of other Siobhan Davis reads, but it had all the addiction I expect from the author. I powered through the story, completing it quicker than my usual Siobhan Davis reading speed, and was more than content with the story.

The only thing I wanted more of was the humour people left me believing I would receive. I did smile at some of the comments Billy made, but I did not find this to be the rom-com a few other people seemed to thing it was. I could have just misunderstood what people were on about, but this wasn’t a book filled with humour in the way a part of me had anticipated. I just wanted to point that out, in case anyone else reads comments about this one that creates the notion this is a rom-com kind of read. There are plenty of emotions, plenty of positive emotions, but not belly-laughs.

I confess, No Feelings Involved is not my favourite Siobhan Davis read, but it was more than worth reading. It hooks you throughout, you’re sucked into the pages, and you’ll gladly consume the book in no time at all.

All in all, Siobhan Davis did her usual thing and hooked me.

With “No Feelings Involved” Siobhan Davis has penned a sexy, angsty and heartfelt story about love and forgiveness.

When Summer decided to lose her virginity before started college she planned ahead. Find a sexy, experienced guy who’d agree to a no strings attached one night stand. She found the ideal guy who gave her a perfect night to remember. There was no way she could’ve known he was her brother’s best friend and future roomie.

Summer knows she’s way too young to be in a serious relationship and isn’t interest in one and Ryan doesn’t believe in love or relationships at all. It should all work out. But as much as they try to avoid each other and fight their attraction, their chemistry is undeniable and soon they board an emotional roller-coaster they might not survive.

Davis knows how to write complex characters, Ryan is one of them. His and Summer’s story kept me interested and turning pages until the very end wanting to know how their romance would unfold. I was saddened by the trials and tribulations they had to go through but loved Ryan’s change into a loving boyfriend not to mention their sizzling hot chemistry.

No Feelings Involved is yet another touching standalone, contemporary romance by Siobhan Davis. It is a forbidden, big brother’s best friend romance told from both points of view, and has a happy ending. No cliffhanger.

When Summer and Ryan meet, they have this instant attraction, and then they have one night of passion. What happens when their one-night ends and they go their separate ways? When Summer goes to live with her brother, she comes face to face with Ryan, and those two don’t know what to do when they have to live in the same place. Their attraction is intense, but they both fight so hard to stay away from one another. Until one night, they can’t handle it anymore and take their relationship to another level. They start with a deal to keep everything friendly with no feelings.

They try to hide their attraction to each other, but eventually choose to have a friends with benefits type arrangement and hiding it from everyone. Things happen. Angst comes into play, but it does, and with an HEA.

“I want to kill your ex for what she did to you. Because you can spout the age gap and my brother at me all you like, but I know the real obstacle is your fear. Fear of feeling something. Fear of opening your heart and letting someone in again. So much fear you can’t even give your body what it needs.”

**Secret relationship
**Brother's best friend 🧡
**Past trauma
**Slow burn 🔥

Audible 3.75 rating 🎶

Siobhan Davis, easily and quickly became a go-to author for me after I read her Kennedy Boys series two years ago and I have read every book she has released since then. I love her writing style, her characters, her ability to write in various genres without shying away from difficult and heart-wrenching topics.

No Feelings Involved is a complete standalone, although characters from another book do appear in this one. However, I had not realized that until I was reading this and it dawned on me when I recognized their names - neither book is tied together and both can truly be read as complete standalones (no overlapping stories or underlying plot that even connects the two books).

No Feelings Involved is definitely one of her more sweet and romantic reads without lots of drama. While I am not a fan of sweet, sugary books without a bit of suspense or drama added in, I was wholly vested in this book from start to finish (hell, I read in one day).

I truly enjoyed Summer. She's a very strong and independent woman who has to hold her ground with 3 older, overbearing brothers her whole life. I love her family's outlook on life and that they hold nothing back, speak their minds and don't hold grudges against one another - I love their family dynamics.

Ryan also comes from a very loving and strong family, however he tends to keep to himself and has a hard time believing in love. You can tell he's had a few bad moments in life that gave him this view point since he's surrounded by great values.

I love how Ryan and Summer meet; I enjoy their story and how their lives intertwine by fate or sheer luck (depends on how you see it). Siobhan does a great job of keeping this story very real and authentic. Nothing is truly over the top dramatic and it feels as though this is something you could truly see happening in real life.

I really enjoyed this book a lot, despite not being a fan of sweet, sugary romances without the suspense and drama added in. Just goes to show you that with great writing and amazing characters, you can easily win over any reader.

This book! I loved it. I love plots that take me where I never expected to go. But at the same time everything flows beautifully and the ride is exhilarating and emotional. This could have just been a forbidden romance and that’s it, but she took us on an unexpected turn where we were not imagining this book taking us. Then she took another turn where characters peeled back layers and so much raw emotion was revealed. Then she brought it to a good place with so much happiness . Finally ending it with...oh no, I don’t do spoilers. But, I will say the plot plays out beautifully!!

I love both MCs so much. There was so much chemistry between them. With the sparks they felt when they touch, or how they even felt just looking at each other. Then that grew. The romance, the sex, the passion between them. He couldn’t stay away from her. I love characters with layers, like Ryan. He was complex. But a character like Summer is refreshing and unique, and how can you not like her. With these two characters and such an exhilarating and emotional plot, how could you not love this book!!

This is the kind of romance you fall in love with.

Summer, creates a task that requires her to lose her virginity. She has the expectations of an older guy, who knows his way around the bedroom and treat women right. No attachments, no strings, no names. No personal details. She however didn’t expect the guy she lost her virginity too was her brothers best friend. Ohh and did I forget to mention that she now has to live with him and her brother under the same roof, yeah well there’s that too.

“Don’t say anything,” I mouth - Ryan
“ Well duh “ she mouths back - Summer

This is one of my FAVORITES from Siobhan's more angsty fare both because I love the trope (angsty age gap) and because I really adore these characters. This features Gabby's brother, Ryan, in a best friend's sister story. AH, just delicious, and so many emotive layers to this story.

Ryan has some real relationship baggage, and his romantic life is even more complicated when he meets his roommate's little sister, who also happens to be his unforgettable one night stand. Cue all the forbidden and secret vibes that I LOVE in the best friend's brother trope, and I loved the dynamic of them having a bit of an age difference too.

I loved Summer. She's incredibly lovable- kind, hopeful, dependable, with a bit of spunk to her. She's a heroine you Really root for and connect with, and one of my favorites from Siobhan's very compelling list of heroines. Ryan on the other hand has a lot of growing to do- he's a bit bitter thanks to his past relationship failure, but I loved the way he awakens thanks to his connection with super. Together they have such a complex and engaging emotional connection, but they are also SO sexy together too. Plus, I loved getting to see the whole crew from the prior book.

All in all, such a delicious, angsty, and amazing read.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

I just love this author!! Every time I pick up one of her romances I know I am about to embark on an emotional journey that will pull all of the heart strings. This one is no exception. We start with a hot one night stand between strangers only for the two of them to end up as roommates. Of course this makes things tense and they try to fight it but will power always seems to fail. So they set up a friend's with benefits thing that will take them both for a ride. We get lots of heavy emotions, sweet emotions, and awe moments. Perfect for fans of fantastic romance novels. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

NO FEELINGS INVOLVED by Siobhan Davis, A Brother's Best Friend. This is the story of Summer Petersen and Ryan James.
Summer is 18 years young and heading off to college, but before she goes she wants to rid herself of the one thing left of her young innocent life. Ryan is the one she chooses to open her to the world of becoming a women. Someone who is older, more experienced and most importantly someone she won't see again. Sadly (or happily) she only got two of those things. Ryan has been burned by love so its not on his life goals anymore. Ryan is out to enjoy women but do nothing permanently. Although his hot encounter with Summer gave him a few doubts, he still tried to stick to them. But then the two find out that they have a few things in common. One is Summer's brother who is Ryan good Friend and that they will be roommates. They have to keep their night a secret now but for how long will that last when they can't stay away from each other?
Enjoyed their story.

I listened to this one on audio. Although this is book two of the series each book features a different couple and can be listened to as a standalone. This book features Ryan and Summers story. The book is an older guy/brothers best friend romance.

Before starting college Summer is determined to lose her V-Card. She finds herself the perfect guys and the rest is history. Thinking nothing more of the even Summer is shocked when moving in with her brother to find out that she has in fact given it away to her brothers best friend who just so happens to also be rooming with her brother.

Ryan can't believe his misfortune to have taken his best mates little sisters V-Card. He isn't looking for complications in his life and he is sure that Summer will be just that.

A delightful story of self-discovery and finding love in unexpected places.

With all of the maturity of a teen, Summer has decided to lose her virginity to a one night stand, hopefully with someone experienced, never to see them again. Fate had different plans for her when she moved in with her older brother when she starts college. And. There. He. Stands. Mr. Hot. Mr. Experience.

Ryan knows the bro code, “Never, never touch your best friend’s little sister.” Now, there she stands in front of him, bringing back the memories of that one night stand and her room is right next to his.

Siobhan Davis knows how to weave a tale! NO FEELINGS INVOLVED is one of those stories that boils over with passion, both physical and emotional! Can you imagine being Summer or Ryan? OOPS. Who knew? How will they keep their little secret from her brother when staying away from each other is like tossing a steak into a hungry lion’s den and telling it not to eat?

Here comes the angst, the heat, the intensity and did I mention the heat? She doesn’t want a relationship, he doesn’t believe in love, they are off limits to each other…and they are both at the mercy of Siobhan Davis and her wicked pen!

One more to add to the must read pile from Siobhan Davis, because she never misses when it comes to impossible situations of the heart!

No Feelings Involved is a great romance with Davis’ signature writing style and intense relationship.

The main characters, Ryan and Summer, have incredible chemistry. Their attraction to each other drips off the pages from their first meeting. Davis is a such talented romance writer that I think she could write an intense and angsty romance between inanimate objects.

Summer’s character can almost be classified in the group of main characters that are too wise or insightful for their age. Instead, Summer strikes a delicate balance between wise and annoyingly preachy. She’s emotionally intelligent, mature, and open. In contrast, Ryan is emotionally stupid and closed off. This stark difference in their personalities is what makes their relationship so compelling as they learn from each other and grow as individuals.

The reason I rated this novel four stars instead of five is entirely plot related. Something happens that I dislike reading about because it’s not a trope I can’t and/or want to sympathize with. Is that harsh? Probably, so take this section with a grain of salt. The first 60% of the novel I would rate five stars, but the final 40% I would rate lower simply because of my dislike of the trope and not because of anything technical.

Overall, No feelings Involved has Davis’ signature chemistry and intense relationship with salient themes making Davis’ latest romance not to be missed.

Siobhan Davis brings her best in this angsty, heart pounding gem in No Feelings Involved. Ryan is the sexy, successful player who has no trouble finding someone to fulfill his needs, yet his heart is on serious lockdown and he is convinced it will stay that way forever. Summer is the free spirited, sassy college girl who is not afraid to open her mind and heart.

A one night stand with no strings becomes anything but. With multiple coincidences heading their way, Ryan and Summer become unlikely roommates. Their chemistry undeniable; the air crackles with sexual tension whenever they are near. However, Summer is forbidden fruit and Ryan tries everything in his power not to take a bite. Summer’s ability to get under Ryan’s skin makes this very difficult.

Love, loss and second chances are beautifully written themes throughout. A steamy, page turning roller coaster of emotion not to be missed!

I really love this book until around the 50% mark...

I loved Summer as the heroine, she was an incredible character however, I don't think Ryan complimented her well. I love the 'best friends brother' trope so I gave this book a good and it was great and then it went very down hill for me.

I think there was too much drama jam-packed into a few chapters and the characters weren't developed enough for that kind of drama - Summer's best friends, her brother's, Ryan's parents etc.

It also became a little too predictable, once she said she wanted to be a teacher and was great with kids you could see where this was leading, which was fine. BUT what I wasn't a fan of was; That did not sit well with me and ultimately what killed the ending for me.

Siobhan Davis knows how to pair her characters for riveting connections and build their stories around hairpin page turns. No Feelings Involved is another success that can be added to this author's impressively angsty collection of work!

What started off as an anonymous happenstance encounter with no strings soon escalated into much more when this couple was unexpectedly thrown together. Unable to avoid their attraction to each other, both physically and eventually emotionally, this book tackled a variety of issues ranging from age gaps to betrayals. Ryan was a strong lead that battled not only hiding his feelings but maintaining the facade of his being a player to hide his scars from his own and others doomed relationships and miscommunication. Summer was like her name implied, sunny and warm with an open heart and mind. It was moving to watch feelings develop between Ryan and Summer and even more so to see how their love did not die despite being tested.

This writer packs in a lot of details and action in her books all the while maintaining a progression that advances naturally. Not afraid to delve into the darker side of life Ms. Davis gives extraordinary glimpses into her characters strengths and weaknesses for well-rounded depictions that are intriguing and memorable. This author makes her complex portrayals and plots seem easy showing her skill at writing.

A read that will swallow readers up in a fabulous emotional upheaval No Feelings Involved was anything but that and will leave readers counting down the day to this author's next story!

I just love a brothers best friend romance, I love the whole taboo aspect. No Feelings Involved is book 2 and can be read as a standalone since it centres around different characters from book 1, BUT having said that I would still recommend reading When Forever Changes as book 2 contains spoilers for it.

This book is Ryan and Summers story, this was a sweet and swoony romance. Growing up Summer has always had her three older brothers protecting her, so that meant no guys and no dating. About to start college Summer has one thing she wants to get rid of, yep you guessed it her virginity, she doesn't want some clueless frat boy she wants an older more experienced guy who actually knows what he's doing. Enter Ryan, they hit it off right away, their chemistry through the roof, Summer wants the night of her life to look back on this and remember awesome memories. Unbeknownst to them this night is the beginning of something complicated, illicit and also the start of something great. They try to fight their attraction to each other but you can't fight the inevitable, this will test their limits as love isn't without it's obstacles.

Siobhan has done it again with this sweet and captivating romance. She makes you swoon, laugh and want to cry all at once. Ryan and Summer were perfect, Ryan is playboy but he's not without his jaded issues and Summer is a straight shooter not afraid to speak her mind and definitely no afraid to call Ryan on his sh*t. I absolutely loved Summers brothers especially Charlie he was my favourite and I hope he gets a book.

Summer and Ryan may not have wanted to have their feelings involved, but this book sure got MY feelings involved! First of all, I fell in love with the main characters. Summer was just awesome! She’s a wonderful combination of youth and maturity. Besides being brutally honest, no-nonsense and adventurous, what drew me to her most was how down-to-earth she was. We got to meet Ryan as Gabby’s brother in When Forever Changes (WFC). This book allowed us to go way below the surface of who we thought he was before, and we get to discover that this sexy hunk is an amazingly thoughtful man and a total sweetheart! I honestly went through the entire emotional spectrum: I laughed at some rather funny scenes, cried as my heart broke for the characters, smiled like a fool as Summer and Ryan got closer, got frustrated when fear and misplaced good intentions led to dumb decisions, and got all hot and bothered from the sizzle between those two! Getting to see Gabby and Slater from WFC regularly throughout the book was a treat – I am always tickled pink when the stories from two different books intertwine. If Summer got me hooked from the first page, Ryan sunk me to the depths of this book and I was in no hurry to come back up for air.

No Feelings Involved brings out all the real feelings. It's got angst, some drama, love, heartache, and happiness. Plenty of steamy moments and some shocking twists too.

Summer is free spirited and full of life at eighteen. She wants to lose her v-card before starting college and has a plan. She wants an older, more experienced man who knows what he's doing. She doesn't want a relationship, just a no strings attached one night stand. Ryan meets all the criteria. His ex has left him jaded towards love. One incredible night together, then they both walk away.

Summer moves in with her brother and her sexy one night stand happens to be his roommate, best friend and business partner. Their intense chemistry is still present, but both know Summer's brother wouldn't approve of their relationship.

I loved this story and it was great catching up with some old favorites too. The second epilogue brought a perfect ending to this book.

If you’ve never read a book by Siobhan Davis, then I highly recommend No Feelings Involved. You will be hooked, just like I am. This book took me an emotional roller coaster ride and left me with a big ole smile on my face. I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but I will say Ryan and Summer are two of my favorite characters of all time. Summer may be eight years younger than Ryan, but she is one female that has her act together. She knows what she wants and she doesn’t take any crap from her brothers or her best friend. Yes, I cried reading this book, but I loved this book and I would give it more than five stars, if I could.

I received an advance reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Another fantastic read from this author, Siobhan Davis never leaves me disappointed, only wanting more! She has a way of writing contemporary characters that draw you into their lives and you find yourself not wanting to leave. ‘No Feelings Involved’ is Ryan and Summers story. We first met Ryan in ‘When Forever Changes’, he’s Gabby’s loveable brother, and I am so pleased he has been given his own story.

This is a forbidden romance, Summer is a strong-willed, independent female character....raised in a house filled with over protective brothers. Ryan, is the playboy, best friend of Summers brother. Lots of Siobhan Davis, sizzling attraction and ‘hot between the sheets’ romance, this is another read I couldn’t put down.

Welp, she's done it again. Siobhan Davis writes romance like no other.

No Feelings Involved by Siobhan Davis is a full length standalone. The story is told from dual POV, which I always love. The plot is absolutely amazing and watching it all play out... completely brilliant.

I absolutely love reading books that take me through a gamut of emotions and that's exactly what you get with No Feelings Involved. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to smack a couple of characters a few times, I felt it all and I loved every single minute of it.

Summer Peterson is an 18-year-old girl just about to head off to college. BUT she has a few things she wants to accomplish before she starts her first semester. Summer is young but she has an old soul and even though she's a goofy carefree girl, she knows exactly what she wants and has every intention of making it happen.

Ryan James is the definition of a playboy. He's not looking for love nor commitment but he's always up for a good time.

So when these two catch each other's eye across the dance floor of a club, it's not long before they end up back at Summers hotel room. They agree that neither of them wants any strings attached, just a night filled with passion and then to never see each other again. Summer wants to spread her wings and doesn't want to start college attached to anyone, and Ryan... well Ryan is just Ryan and after his ex burned him he just doesn't "do" relationships.

One night, no feelings involved...

But fate... well, she had other ideas.

I absolutely loved these characters. Summer is like my spirit animal, she's the life of the party without even meaning to be and the best part is she doesn't even realize it. She's a wonderful girl and if anyone could crack that hard exterior of Ryan's, it would be her.

Ryan, you can't help but want to hug him, all while wanting to slap him upside his head. Gosh, he's been so twisted up over something for sooo long, when if he had just asked he wouldn't of went through so much heartache. But as always, I guess everything happens for a reason.

These two together have out of this world chemistry. From the sparks that they both feel at just the slightest of touches, to the way that they can just feel one another when they walk into the room. Not to mention the mindblowing steamy sex... shew! 🔥🔥🔥 There was no way that these two couldn't fall head over heels for each other.
"He’s barely touching me. It’s the lightest of caresses, but it’s wholly intimate, and I long to turn around and latch my mouth onto his. To wrap my legs around his waist and grind my hips against his hard-on. To yank his sweats down, push my panties aside, and direct his cock inside me. To feel him moving as one with me so I forget I exist on this planet without him."

If you have read When Forever Changes (if you haven't you don't need to but you absolutely SHOULD because it's a freaking awesome book!) you may remember Gabby's brother Ryan. He wasn't a huge character in that story but he was there. It was awesome to see Gabby and Slater still going strong. All of the secondary characters... well besides Hanna and Jordan because I still don't like EITHER of them, are absolutely wonderful characters, makes me wish I had a big family too.

I LOVED that Summer was from Bridgeville and was going to college at the University of Deleware, I'm actually from Maryland so Deleware is basically right next door to me. I've never found another book that is based locally so I thought that was pretty cool.

A touch of forbidden romance, a little angst, and oh so much romance! No Feelings Involved is perfect. I highly recommend!

4.5🌟

No Feelings Involved is another great read by Siobhan Davis! I adored Summer and Ryan’s story. It was fun, sweet, hilarious, heartbreaking and beautiful.
I first came across Siobhan David through the Kennedy Boys series over a year ago and have enjoyed every book I have read by her. Her writing is great, and I admire her willingness and ability to touch on difficult topics in her stories with grace.

Loved this Siobhan Davis Gem

I absolutely loved this book about Summer, an 18 year old who is about to begin college and 26 year old Ryan, the hunky guy that she selects to gift with her v-card. She just wants a one night event but imagine their surprise when he turns out to be her older brother’s business partner and roommate. There was plenty of angst, hot sexual chemistry and a riveting storyline as well as great secondary characters to keep you entertained the book long. I was sorry to have the book end, but the epilogue was so rich and fulfilling.

I enjoyed this book:) easy to read, good strong characters and world building and plot, and I loved revisiting Gabby and Slater. Looking forward to seeing if another one of subcharacters shows up in their own standalone romance book.

Summer is ready to put her virginity behind her and she has a plan. She wants a guy who is a little older, one who is experienced, one who can make her first time good for her. On a visit over the summer to her future campus, she finds the perfect guy and her first time is even more than she could have hoped for. Ryan is not a relationship kind of guy. He doesn't believe in a forever love and the one time he did give love a chance, he got burned. Now he's happy with one night stands. So when he and Summer spend the night together they both go in without expectations; no feelings, no ties. He will make her first time special, she will be his for one night and one night only. But when Summer moves into her brother Austin’s apartment and meets his best friend, they know they have a problem. Ryan is Austin's best friend. And as much as they try to avoid it, there is something undeniable between them. Summer doesn't want a relationship at her age, Ryan doesn't believe in relationships at any age, and if Austin finds out he may kill them both.

I love that this book started out unexpectedly backward. Sex first, feelings second. Sex initiated by a female. A confident, happy, intelligent, beautiful young girl who knew her own mind, controlled her own body, and owned her own decisions. There was no whining, no angst, no second-guessing or guilt. Summer was the young woman we should all aspire to be. And while Ryan may have been a man-whore, he never led women on, used or abused them. He was content with his choices and didn't seem to be consumed with wracking up higher numbers. These two characters were well-adjusted and well suited. This book could have fallen into several tropes; older/younger lover, forbidden love, big brother's best friend love. It fits all of these but then again, it doesn't. It's a fresh story because of the characters. They are delightful. All of them. Summer brings a positive energy that captivates, Ryan consumes, Austin is a perfect big brother, Miley is adorable. The families are so great I want them to adopt me. Catching up with Slater and Gabby and their kids was beyond wonderful. Let's all just admit Billy is going to be a heartbreaker! Some of the friends left much to be desired and Myndi will never be welcome in my world again but I adore the rest of this group.

Be warned while this book is much lighter than Siobhan's normal stab you in the heart and make you bleed out before you arrive at the HEA it's plenty emotional. I laughed, I cried, I fumed. There's sexual tension, pure heat, hurt, and humor. It's a story of misguided decisions, damaged feelings, and forgiveness. But mostly it's a true romance. There's so much to love. There's so much love. Love of family, love of friends, and of course, forever love.
