After tragedy derails TJ Abernathy’s life, she packs up her three year old son and heads back to Pennsylvania to live with her grandmother on the family farm. TJ picks back up where she left off eight years earlier, tending to the fruit and nut tree orchard, while learning her grandmother’s secret trade.Soon, TJ’s high school sweetheart and the same girl who broke her heart, comes back into her life, threatening to steal it away once again. As the weeks turn into months and tragedy strikes again, TJ realizes coming home was the best thing she could’ve ever done.
Leaving the city was her best decision ever. This is a warmhearted feel good story about a fresh start, running an orchard, new chances, a loving but meddling (in a good way) granny, beautiful scenery, an adorable kid and a true love. I loved watching how they move forward and what they have to go through to find happiness. A wonderful story with lovable characters and perfect for a couple of lazy hours on the couch with a good glass of wine.
It’s been a while since I’ve paid $10 for an indie book, but I’ve enjoyed stories by this author before, although I’ve found the editing left a lot to be desired in the past. But, author’s improve with time, right? Wrong! The editing in this book is atrocious. Full of typos and grammatical errors from the prologue onwards. There are also holes in the storyline and assumptions made with very little foundation. I won’t say more than that as I’ve no wish to add in spoilers.
This book is way, way over priced for the 152 pages and the amount of errors. I’ll stick to paying $10 in future from a reputable publisher.
After Loss Comes Love TJ’s life just came crashing down around her. Her once secure future is now shattered and she is at a crossroads. Packing up her son, she travels home to live with her grandmother and take over the family fruit and nut orchard. It’s not long until her path crosses with that of her first love Arlee. While TJ wanted forever, Arlee let fear stand in her way. Now that everything is different, is it too late to try again?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved all of it. It grabbed me attention and held it throughout. It made me feel and filled me with all sorts of warm fuzzies and contented awwws. This is a vividly written coming home/second chance at love story with pain, angst, love of all sorts and lovely romance and delicious sexy bits. I liked watching both TJ and Arlee reunite and heal past wounds while pursuing a future with each other. Both of these strong women have wounds to heal, separately and together but both rise to the challenge. This is one of those books you won’t want to put down and will want to read cover to cover. However, looking back, some breaks to make the anticipation last longer would have been sweet too. I hope you like this book every bit as much as I did. I’m now off to see what else Ms Morgen has to offer….
This was a lovely read. I really enjoyed it. The story moved along well. I don't like stories that dwell. TJ and Arlee are very sweet, thoughtful women and their love story was very cute. Recommend for an easy read.
TJ and Arlee are more lovable characters brought to us by Graysen Morgen. This time, the added element of small-town prejudice and mentality are thrown into the mix to add another dimension of issues faced on the path to true love. I really enjoy books from this author and I can't wait to read more!
