Frontier justice cuts both ways.

Uzziah Ferguson O'Bannon wants a clean start in St. Louis—steady work, the promise of the woman he loves, a future he can earn.

When a corrupt undersheriff murders her, Uzziah and mountain man Immanuel Jones answer in kind and run for the high country, shadowed by an outlaw gang and a Blackfeet war party. On the plains and into the Rockies, they take charge of two orphans and a battered wagon train. If Uzziah fails to learn the mountains' hard laws—tracking, hunting, fighting—he faces the noose, the children lost to marauders, and a death that rides the first winter storm. With vengeance in his blood and a mentor at his side, he must decide what kind of mountain man he becomes—and how much of his soul the frontier takes.

This two-book bundle includes the first two novels in the Uzziah Mountain Man series.

Wow, hope there's more.

This series is a Western in location only. These guys are Mountain Men, not Cowboys, and they are hard working, exciting, brutal but sympathetic. They lead a very hard life, trapping and hunting and just surviving in the high mountains is a full time job but these two guys have one hazardous adventure after another and manage to enjoy life,

Straight to the point in the adventure, not a lot of filler like many writers add in their books, perfectly executed.
