A heart stopping, body throbbing anthology by 5 of today's hot NA Romance Writers. Five books include: Hooked on the Game by C.M. Owens Opposing Sides by CM Doporto Revenge by Sierra Rose The Recruiting Trip by Lexy Timms Fix You by Christine Bell
* These are NOT erotica* They are new adult & college romances. For mature readers only.
Review of each included story below - only the first one is worth your time IMO.
Hooked on the Game by C.M Owens Fun college read full of all my favourite romance tropes. Raya Capperton is working her butt off trying to make her way through college on scholarships and working in a coffee shop, all while living next her entitled rich boy, Kade Colton. It's during one of Kade's parties that she finds her ceiling on top of her after some drunken guys take a bulldozer to her house. With no where to live, no money, and after having been dismissed from her job - unfairly, what boss would fire you for not being able to lift your arms days after your ceiling fell on you?! - Raya finds it difficult to say no to Kade's father's punishment for his son. She's to live with him now, and he's to run everything he wants to do past her first.. including the parties. These two start off with a hate-at-first-sight relationship. It really does seem that Kade is an entitled little prick who cares for no one other than himself. But when he sees the bruising she got from the drunken mishap, he suddenly grows a conscience and despite initially saying he had nothing to do with the drunks or the bulldozer, he now feels responsible. When she's forced to take the Colton family's offer of new clothing to replace her ruined threads, she's then targeted at college by all the other rich kids. When they all stop shaming her, it becomes apparent that someone has started a rumor that Raya and Kade are now dating, making her off-limits. Raya's not only from the lesser side of the tracks, she's also from a family full of cons. Kade's not your typical partying player, he doesn't have the usual posse of player mates, but rather a social network of future business alliances. Of course shit hits the fan when her family connections come to light, threatening all his business connections. Then there's an unexpected twist that I did not see coming and HEA... Despite the twist, I thoroughly enjoyed this and these two. C.M Owens is now on my radar and I'll be reading more in this series for sure.
********************* Opposing Sides by C.M Doporto Attempted to read this back in July 2016- see my review here DNF 54%
********************* Addictive Collision, Part 1 by Chrissy Peebles This book has only the cover in my ebook box set, and isn't listed in the blurb above so I'm not real sure what's going on there...
********************* The Recruiting Trip by Lexy Timms Meh. Very short novella. Aileen Nessa is scouting out colleges, the champion hurdler really only travelled to the University of Gatica to see hottie Tyler Jensen up close. Not a cliffhanger, but no resolve either, not sure I'll bother with the follow up.
********************* Fix You: Bash and Olivia - Book One by Christine Bell DNF somewhere after starting chapter 3. Olivia's boyfriend Andy has been getting a little crankier than normal, last week he left bruises on her and shook her violently. This time, he pinned her against a wall, punched said wall right next to her face then grabbed her throat. Nightclub worker and hottie Sebastian aka Bash, came to her rescue. She's an idiot. Andy's rich daddy has made sure Bash is fired and she hasn't actually broken up with him, because her parents are broke... stupid. Perhaps I'm over the crap stories from this anthology - only the first one was good, maybe this would get better for me, but I don't care enough to find out.
book one was Jade and Raya"s story, I loved how the story began with Rays going crazy over Jade Always Having wild patties and making it hard for her to get her school work done as she was on a scholarship in an Ivy league school, when one night a party gets out of control and Jades dad decides to punish him by making him move her in and he has to run every decision through her. This story was allot of fun and after all Raya dios to keep herself out of trouble she has to put herself deep in it to save jades but in the end.excellent story....
Good stories but disappointed that everyone one was the first book in a series so the reader is left hanging and needs to purchase the rest to find the ending. No more book ones for me!
Love & College:New Adult & College Romance Anthology
This book was great all about young adults going out in the world along for the first time, showing how some of the making wise decision and other not so wise the portal of being an adult,I loved it.
Only read the first book By CM Owens - Hooked on the game The sterling shore series #1 3 ok stars Raya just pissed me off by always saying she’s trailer trash with no $$$kade was enigmatic. College based
This box set is where it all began for me! I am now absolutely Hooked on ALL - C.M OWENS & C.M DOPORTO - Books. These ladies are fantastic and I can guarantee that you WILL love everything they write. From C.M Owens Hooked on the Game, I highly recommend you read the rest of the Sterling Shore Series and progress from there. Then from C.M Doporto Opposing sides, I again highly recommend you read the rest of the University Park series as it is simply fantastic! Do not be concerned as neither of these series continue to play out whilst the characters are in College, they all grow up and the love, romance, comedy and all that accompanies it becomes more mature. No regrets!
Half of these books deserved 4 stars and I will definitely read more by those authors. The others were 2.5 or three stars. So I gave it an overall rating if 3 stars. Honestly, for .99, it was a good buy.
This is a nice start to this series. I really like where the author is going with the characters. Aileen seems like a very mature girl for only being 18, I love Tyler's character already. I can't wait to read Faster book 2 in the series.
I enjoyed the 4 out of 5 stories that I got to read. The third story Addictive Collision by Chrissy Peebles was not included with the book like it says. I even deleted the book and reinstalled it and it didn't make a difference.
This book held my interest through to the end. Easy reading. One drawback to go onto next book was impossible. Too quick work, so author lost out on my purchasing other books.
