Very pleasant ending to an enjoyable series. The ending worked very well. Endings are hard, and Watts pulled it off. Very satisfying.

It seems that very few litrpg / prog fantasy authors finish their series. So kudos! Very much appreciated.

Watts wrapped up the series in this book, with Josh and his friends completing the task of building an official Town in the game of Blade & Sheath. Compared to the previous books, the pacing was much faster in this book, in the sense that problems presented got resolved very quickly. I get the sense that maybe he originally planned on a 5-book series or similar, taking a book to get through settlement, then another to get through town, but compressed it into a single book to wrap things up (he has a more popular series in Small Town Crafter). Still good though.

Blades Rest a low-stakes Town Building LitRPG

Well, that was satisfying. Not a big adventure, but a big job. The trials and tribulations of building up to a Town.
The growth of the players, the development of their skills and statistics, their friendships. Wow I wish games had such AI to keep players involved.

Well, someday.

Thank you!

It is to fast passed to be truly cozy.

While there is no overarching threat of death and destruction in this book, and the themes do stick to building and food and connections. It all feels rushed. There is no break to rest and take in the scenery and quite a few to many large celebrations.

A nice conclusion to the series

For me each book would at times be a bit difficult to finish cuz I was kind of bored. That's on me. This is supposed to be a slow cozy story. Which it is, and it was great.

Loved the full series and read it pretty quickly; only gave three stars due to the pacing in this book. Either the ones before it were too slow or this one was just really fast. The ending while cute and satisfactory felt rushed.

Good story

A good heartwarming story ALMOST ruined by poor editing.
Still I highly recommend this series for those looking for something different.

Good read

I enjoyed the book, enjoyed the series. If you want a good book with limited drama, at least no major conflicts, just day to day low key adventure, this is a good one.

Fine conclusion, I suppose.
I had hoped this series was a bit like CivCEO; it's nothing like that. I think it unknowingly tries to be though.
