A Lovely Into.

I usually hate stories that are told thru multiple books, however, this author is upfront about it. Therefore, the reader knows they will be getting an unfinished story. This author writes very short stories, more importantly, very well written with a well defined storyline. Looking forward to the rest of this story.

This is the story of Alicia. She is the top historical architect at her job. She is given the job of restoring a plantation in Georgia. She really doesn't want it due to the fact the job is a simple task for her. She likes challenges. But in order to prove to her boss that she is deserving of the promotion she has been seeking, she has to excel at this assignment.

When she arrives at the plantation, she sees that it is in great condition. The work that is required of her is to be in the barn. The owner, who is an excellent carpenter and craftsman, has been renovating the mansion but realized the barn area is beyond his skills. When Alicia meets the owner, Beau Lawless, there is instant attraction.

This seems like the typical story: working girl, capable man, instant attraction, sex the same night, etc. The story moves too fast for me. There is no development of feelings between the characters. And the reader is blindsided with the fact that Beau is into BDSM. There is no finesse on how it was introduced. I thought it was weird that he would show Alicia his playroom after a few hours of knowing her. He didn't know if that information would scare her away. He knew nothing about her.

He also got too attached to her after one night. "I missed you..."? How could he say that when she was in his house the whole night? It didn't make sense. They could have courted since he is a Southern gentleman. He didn't romance her to my satisfaction. I know these characters are headstrong people that like a challenge but I don't believe that it was conveyed in this story. There was no development of the attraction. Just because the author says the characters are attracted doesn't mean she really communication that throughout the story. There was no emotion. I don't believe Beau liked Alicia in the same capacity as she liked him. "He saw a challenge, a strong woman that he wanted to dominate with pure pleasure." What happens when she is no longer that strong woman?

What I didn't care for the most in the story was the fact that at the beginning of the story the female is a woman that knows where she is going and is driven to get there. Basically 2 days with a man and she starts to lose sight of why she is in Georgia in the first place. She doesn't care about her promotion. She starts to lose herself in Beau. I will not be recommending this installment. It moved too fast and it didn't keep my interest. Maybe next time Ms. Jordan.

Breathless

Alicia and Beau have an undeniable connection. Lucia Jordan had again penned a steamy hot story that leaves you breathless. She has the ability to weave an interesting story that has you panting and wanting more. She has a knack for erotica that not only is hot, but keeps the reader on the edge.

Happy Reading,
