Ooooooof.

Honestly, I'm glad this series wasn't my first thing by Rina Kent or I might have never made it to the other series I loved.

I really enjoyed book one, but the book two and three writing felt like it was done by a different author. It was SO repetitive with the characters' inner thoughts and motivations. Literally, the same thoughts, emotions, and plot directives regurgitated themselves over and over again here. It just felt very...directionless, messy, and childish, sadly.

The bright side is that at least this was one of her earlier works, which means I have already seen how she has progressed with her writing and storytelling since then (as the series I first read by her were written later than this one).

And in Kent's defense, I also did read these connected series VERY out of order. As a result, I already knew some of the twists that occurred here and therefore didn't have that surprise/tension that I might have experienced otherwise. For that reason, I am rating this two stars instead of the one I was initially going to rate it.

Any why one star? Because of the initial reasons I mentioned above coupled with the fact that I just can't in good conscience rate a book I skimmed so heavily any higher than that.

But oh well. Still gonna continue my Rina Kent binge anyway!

“When I grow up, I’m going to marry you.”
“You can’t marry me.”
Her face contorts. “Why not?”
“Mum says you have to love someone to marry them.”
“Then you can just love me.” She throws her hand in the air. “What’s so hard about that?”

Long live the King and the Queen!

I knew this book would be good and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Aiden and Elsa’s story has been quite a roller coaster ride. From the beginning they stared at each other across a school yard and had a connection that couldn’t be ignored. At the end of the last book Jonathan, Aiden’s father had made it a point to destroy what they had, in his quest to get back at Elsa for the sins of her mother.

In addition to Jonathan’s manipulations, which destroy all trust Elsa had in Aiden, there is still a lot Elsa doesn’t know about what happened when they were kids because her memories have been returning to her very slowly. Aiden fears those revelations will turn her against him even more than Jonathan.

Elsa finds herself surrounded by new and different characters in this book, which was a great surprise. I liked that a lot about the book as well as the fact that the rest of the horsemen, Kim and the Elsa’s rival Silver are returned. The relationship between Aiden and Elsa is scorchingly hot and steamy. Their passion is beautiful, all consuming, and violent at times. It’s like they can’t control themselves and can’t get enough of one another.

The intimate scenes were sizzling and the connection Aiden and Elsa share is much deeper as we find out more about their childhoods. I love the way Rina Kent writes so that you can feel the need they have for each other and though Aiden is sometimes a possessive and Jealous prick, he really just wants to protect Ella. He also has an extremely dirty mind and has no problem with telling her his every dirty thought.

Aiden is such a compelling character. He is a sociopath but he controls himself for the most part. His mind is funny and the parts of the book told from his point of view are awesome. We get to see how he his brain works and also how he feels about Elsa and even about his friends and other students.

“A moment later, he strides in our direction. He smiles at me so wide, I’m tempted to cut his face open. The only reason I don’t is because Elsa would hate me even more.
Knight can still do it, though. With the right encouragement.
I tuck that idea for later.”

This book also sets up some of the next books in the series. I want to know more and find out who the rest of the horsemen will end up with and what is they mystery between Xander and Kim. I would almost think that Kim’s brother Kai is their son, but his age doesn’t add up. So I don’t know what is going on with them. I can’t wait to find out more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

So.. this couple had 3 (three) books and NONE was good, this is loser behavior of them.

In the first book Elsa seemed to have potential to be a good female character, I was hoping she would be stubborn like Astrid and closed off, like truly a mysterious female character. Then she started disappointing me, she always says she's gonna do one thing and then does the opposite, SHE IS SO ANNOYING and repetitive, like I said before, half of the dialogue she has with friends and Aiden is THE SAME in all 3 books, it's so repetitive it seems like the author wrote the same things over and over again.

With that being said, here's my statement: Aiden and Elsa didn't need 3 books for their story, their traumas, past or their romance. It could have been ONE good or at least interesting book instead of THREE half-assed ones. Not even the revelations shocked me, not the cliffhangers in every book ending.. I only kept reading because I want to finish the entire series. But it's not interesting enough to keep someone at the edge of their seat.

Now about Aiden, the guy just doesn't have a personality, he says the same 5 robotic lines through all 3 books, these are like "you're mine", "I'll kidnap you", "don't let him touch you", "can I fingerfuck you?" or "I'll destroy you", that's all the boy can say bc besides that he doesn't have another dialogues as I mentioned, it's all repetitive.

Teal was such a breath of fresh air in this book and I kept readind for the scenes she, Ronan, Cole and Kim appeared.

I still have xanderkim and silvercole books to read and I truly hope they'll serve all aidenelsa couldn't.

"What I feel for you isn’t only love, obsession, or addiction. It’s all of those and more."

About halfway I got bored. I just don't think they needed 3 fucking books doing exactly the same thing. the only thing i actually liked in this book is that aiden changed. even though he's still a psycho, he sat and thought things through before jumping to conclusions. unlike elsa.

Even though i thought about it for a millisecond i still wrote this when i read THAT scene: Please I lost all my respect for elsa in this book. Fuck this. She made a whole big deal about silver and aiden but when it comes to her and ronan, then she needs to think about it. Fuck it, she’s a bloody hypocrite and she doesn’t deserve shit.

Overall, i'm proud of them because they BOTH were hella toxic to each other. fucking psychopaths.

3.5 stars

alas, the conclusion of Aiden and Elsa's story is finally here.

was everything answered? yes.
did everything live up to my expectation? ehhh..

this was a decent read and the writing was still good but the drama was a bit OTT for me and kind of all over the place and everything was kind of resolved pretty fast, especially when it came to the drama between Ethan (h's dad) and Jonathan (H's dad).

”What I feel for you isn’t only love, obsession, or addiction. It’s all of those and more.”

i still loved the characters and i reaaalllyyy can't wait to read Xander and Kim's book. their "relationship" is just full of mystery that i really wanna know why the hell Xander hates Kim!

Aiden is still crazy but very swoony here, and Elsa? weeelll she annoyed me in the beginning since i thought she was a bit too harsh on Aiden but i still liked how she didn't forgive him too easily and made him work for it. i mean, i would probably be as petty as her if i found out my boyfriend was "engaged" to someone else this entire time.

i think this was a nice conclusion to Aiden and Elsa's story and im so glad they got their HEA.

This series is just okay. Although this book was better than the last two books, however, it was still problematic and not entertaining.

It was good that Elsa and Aiden got their happy ending. The other characters were interesting too. Cole and silver, then? I kind of guessed them together in the first book when it was revealed that they are going to be stepsibling. And Silver is a completely changed person here. In the previous books, she was a bully and always tormented Elsa about Aiden. And now she doesn't even care about Aiden anymore. Isn't it weird? If the author decided to make Silver a protagonist in the future book, she should have started changing her before. Now the sudden shift of her character is completely unbelievable and obnoxious.

And, Silver and Aiden faked their engagement. She was territorial about him for other reason. Can you find the similarity? It sounds a lot like The Peer and the Puppet and The Punk and the Plaything by B.B. Reid

And Kimberly and Xander, another predictable book it will be. They were childhood friends, right. Does anyone remember Bully by Penelope Douglas ?

And Ronan and Teal, right? It will be interesting. At least I haven't found similarities yet but who knows.

I feel the author took inspiration from every bully romance, merged them together, and here is her books.

“As long as you have this spark in your eyes, I’ll always recognise you as my Elsa.”

Aiden and Elsa’s story started off really well, with all the mysteries and suspense surrounding their past, Elsa’s forgotten memories, the betrayals and rivalry that led their parents down a path of destruction, and their volatile relationship that later developed into an ardent and emotional mess.

While I did enjoy the last two books in their story, Twisted Kingdom fell flat compared to the previous ones. A lot was happening, yet nothing really happened in the end. So many inconsequential events and subplots were thrown in just to justify another book for Aiden and Elsa. Honestly, their story could’ve been wrapped up in two books max, and I don’t know why Rina decided to stretch it out when she couldn’t even write a proper redemption arc for Aiden or meaningful character growth for Elsa. What was the point of Aiden and Elsa’s fathers’ rivalry? It started with a bang, only for both families to turn into business partners by the end. Their rivalry ended up being a useless trope in this book.

I really liked Elsa in Deviant King, but after the ending of book one, she just became this annoying and frustrating girl who is obsessed with Aiden because he brings out a different side of her, and she can’t resist him or his dick. She ignored him, then tried to stalk him, justifying it with how she can’t help it because she’s obsessed with him. I wish she had shown some growth, developed a backbone, and made Aiden grovel before accepting him back into her life. But instead, she opted for the easy route, letting him fuck her into oblivion.

“He stole my fucking heart and soul, and there’s no way I’ll be able to get them back. He’s a thief, remember? A damn thief.”

Aiden was just Aiden in this book—you know what I mean. I was hoping to like him more if he actually grovelled or begged, but he did nothing. He was slightly different in how he took care of Elsa and tried to protect her from her past because he knew the truth would break her. But he’s still a fuck-up, and I can’t forget that. Honestly, I don’t even know how I liked him in book one.

“What I feel for you isn’t only love, obsession, or addiction. It’s all of those and more. Do you know what that means, sweetheart? It means I can’t live without you.”

Elsa and Aiden’s relationship took a major turn in this book. From being her bully and tormentor to her protector, we finally see how he was always hers and how deep and potent their connection runs. I was eating up all the drama and angst—until I just couldn’t anymore. Seriously, it was so cliché. Like, Rina, we know you can do better, so please use your two brain cells and give us something good other than the same childhood connection and marriage promises.

“There hasn’t been a day where I haven’t thought about you. Every time I manage to sleep, I dream of you. You were my obsession since we were kids, but now it’s way fucking worse. I don’t know how I managed to spend eight years without you in my life when now I suffocate if I don’t see you for hours.”

Elsa tried her best (well, as best as she could) to keep Aiden and his dick away, but the moment he showed her some kindness and care, she gave in. They are good together, but what about character development? What about the therapy sessions they both desperately need?

The ending was underwhelming, and I don’t even know how I feel about it. I’m only giving this book three stars because the dialogue made me laugh, the smut was hot, the drama was entertaining enough to keep me reading, and because of Cole being the little bitch of their group. I already love him, so hopefully, Rina won’t ruin his book for me.

Why aren't more people talking about the fact that Agnus almost killed Elsa?? Aiden was so nonchalant about it, it completely goes against his character. Makes no bloody sense! Instead he was having coffee with Agnus when Elsa woke up in the hospital after TWO DAYS. I hate Agnus with a passion now and I don't even like Elsa that much so that says something! God, this was so fucked up.

"The thought that Dad trusts him burns at the back of my throat like acid."
...
“You killed my mother,” I breathe, my face going up in flames.
“Shut up, Elsa,” Aiden whispers harshly, but only I can hear him. “Don’t provoke him when we have no exit plan.”
...
"He’s a psychopath, isn’t he?
If he’s so detached after killing someone, he must be some sort of a psycho."
...
“I’ve been by Ethan’s side since we were ten years old. I know from experience that if he stops trusting someone, he’ll cut them completely out of his life. I can’t afford that.”
“What if I tell him?” I try to keep the challenge out of my voice.
“Ethan lost so much...He finally thinks he can start anew with you, Knox, and Teal. If you tell him unnecessary things, he’ll cut me from his life, but he won’t cope well with it. If you want to be the reason behind that, then by all means, go right ahead.”

And he almost lost Elsa, again, because of you, Aggy.
I'm only putting in snippets I highlighted but believe me, there's a lot more that pissed me the hell of.

“Are you threatening me?”
“I’m simply stating facts.”
...“Sounds like a threat to me.”
He smiles without humour. “Believe me, this isn’t how I issue threats. You’re lucky to be amongst the few people I’ll never threaten.”
We maintain a war of gazes for what seems like an hour. Agnus doesn’t flinch or even blink.
A stone. He’s a damn stone.
“He’s right.” Aiden faces me. “Steel Corporation remained standing because of Agnus. If he leaves, it’ll backfire on your father badly, especially with the competition between him and Jonathan.”
“You’re supposed to be on my side.” I glare at him.
“I am, sweetheart. That’s why I’m telling you to disregard your emotions and give free reign to your brain.” ...“Deep down, you know this is the best thing to do.”
“I’ll give you time to think about it.” Agnus places the cigarette to his lips. “It won’t be long before Ethan finds out you’re missing. I disabled the ability to open the door from the inside. Stay here and process everything carefully, Elsa.”

That entire interaction made me want to chuck this book at the wall. Aiden is such a little bitch for defending Agnus even though he's seeing right before his eyes how Agnus is coming off as threatening to Elsa. Don't fucking tell her to disregard her emotions. Protective, my ass. And it's funny that Steel Corporation remained standing but no one, not even Jonathan, knew about it. EYE ROLL.

“Did he just lock us in?” I murmur in astonishment.
“The phones are outside,” Aiden curses again.
“I can’t believe he did that. Dad will never forgive him.”
“He wants you to think carefully about what to say to your father.” Aiden glances at me. “He probably doesn’t want to hurt you. If you give him what he wants, he’ll let us out.”
“How? He locked us in.” I contain a frustrated yell.
The psycho."

Aiden is literally defending Agnus after he locks them in. He tells Elsa that if she gives Agnus what he wants, then he'll let them go.... IS HE SERIOUS?! Who the hell is this Aiden??

"All his actions lead back to my father’s well-being.
Well, all except for locking me in a basement with no way out.
That reality of things hits me hard when Aiden pulls and pushes the door with no result.
We’re trapped."

Agnus only ever cared about Ethan and clearly wanted his dick. What he did is despicable. I don't understand why the author inserts so many "psychopaths" in her book in order to explain and condone selfishness and obsession. He almost killed Ethan's daughter! There's no way in hell that should ever be overlooked! "After all, he has no moral compass stopping him from eliminating people who don’t fit into his bigger picture." What Elsa said is true.

"I might not have accomplished much, but I at least saved her and Knox. They’re the best thing that happened to my life after Elsa.
And Agnus."

Oh he means the Agnus who left his daughter locked in a basement for more than two freaking days only for her to fall very ill? The Agnus who did what he did to his mentally unstable wife? Sure, sure.
And Ethan, you really did accomplish nothing. Karma's a bitch, bitch.

I found it funny when Jonathan said this:

“Where’s your dog?” I poke Ethan. “Have you lost the leash?”
“Watch it, Jonathan. I won’t allow you to disrespect Agnus.
“Touchy, aren’t we?”
“He saved Aiden that day,” he says with an edge of smugness. “If it weren’t for Agnus, you would’ve lost your only son.”
“Agnus the saviour,” I mock.

Yeah.. pretty sure Jonathan didn't specify he meant Aggy when he said dog, but you sure did lol. And sure, this is the Agnus you love so much and know so well but don't realize he almost killed your Elsa. Give me a fucking break, Kent. I will never root for Ethan and Agnus now. Fuck them both. What a dumbass pair! Oh and Agnus wouldn't have had to save Aiden if you hadn't put Aiden in that situation in the first place.

This is ridiculous! I've read the books that come after this so I know what eventually happens between Agnus and Ethan so it pisses me off even more!

When Ethan said this to Jonathan I wanted to laugh:
...But do you know what’s the difference between you and me? I consider Elsa’s well-being before my own.”

After reading Jonathan's book, I think Ethan had a lot of nerve spewing this bullshit. You consider her well-being before your own? Are you so sure about that, old man? I don't believe this shit for a second.

And then:
“Wait,” I say against his mouth. “What were you and Agnus talking about earlier?”
“We’re planning something. It’s going to be fun.”
Aiden and Agnus are planning something.

I fucking hated Aiden in this instance more than any of the others. Goddamn it, I needed Agnus to face consequences. Not even a few cuss words aimed his way? Seriously? It wouldn't have been enough but the author doesn't even give us that. Instead he gets off scot-free and Aiden conspires with him. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK, KENT.

I really can't excuse what Aiden did- or failed to do. I seriously can't forgive or overlook this type of bullshit. I don't give two shits about Agnus and Ethan being together, I needed Agnus GONE or for the millionth time, he at least needed to pay for what he did.

If this author wanted a trilogy so bad, she should've made sure to remain consistent and should've made shit make sense. A duet would've been better but money talks I guess.

The final book to Aiden and Elsa's story brings much more intimate details. This book was incredibly done and has satisfied my expectations.

Who was dead is alive now, the person who was supposed to love turns out to be a monster and the devil pursues to give safety and love. The author has smoothened the rough surfaces but before that this incredible series dumped dynamite among chapters.
I absolutely love Aiden and Elsa's pairing. Rina Kent's heroes are not insta-loved, they are a-hole, obsessive and deviantly scrumptious. I recommend Rina Kent's books to bully romance lovers out there. Her books are dark.

FIVE TWISTED STARS for Elsa and Aiden 💖💖💖!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I LOVED IT.

I LOVED IT.

I LOVED IT.

This was one of the hardest reviews to write and that is the reason why I took a few days of a break after I've read the book to write this review.

Rina didn't disappoint.

She really shocked me with some parts and I totally loved it.

She wrote the story that kept my attention from the first to the last word.

It was really easy to read.

The storyline is so interesting that I couldn't put the book down because there were so many secrets which made me read until I discovered them all.

"Twisted Kingdom" is a dark high school bully romance with enemies to lovers trope.

This is the last book about Elsa and Aiden's story and the third book in the "Royal Elite" series.

And...

...it's pure perfection.

I was so sad after I finished the last sentence because I became so connected with the main characters.

It was so hard to say goodbye to them even I know there are more books, in this series, in which they will be as side characters.

Elsa and Aiden's relationship is deep and broken, but also beautiful.

Something you can't find in every book.

They proved that true love doesn't know about a dark and painful past.

It's all about forgiveness and love.

Love that becomes every day bigger and stronger.

If you're looking for a dark romance series, this is the series you MUST TO READ NEXT!!!

Highly recommended!!!

P.S. Can't wait for the next book in series 😱!!!

P.S.S. Ronan is mine 😜😍❤🔥!!!

I'm giving 4.5⭐ to this book...
I think I will rate this couple trilogy as almost 4⭐...

Twisted kingdom was a lot more interesting than steel princess.
I finally was able to understand their past, even if it wasn't really a mystery.

I didn't get bored in this one, so it's a bonus. Aiden is still the same possessive psycho and Elsa is still stubborn like a stone, but at least they really evolved from that toxic relationship to something more stable.

I loved how Aiden were more human and show his care (sort of) for Elsa in this book. They're definitely a match.
I also enjoyed more of her new family and the boys interactions.

But I will take a break from this people, and maybe return to it after Cole's book...
A series with all 5 couples (Levi, Aiden, Xander, Ronan and Cole) in the same trope (dark bully enemies to lovers), is reaaaally too much to my taste, and I know that I will compare and I will find all the same.

Sooooo I'll take a break. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂❤️

5 ”Aiden King and Elsa steel” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thought the worst monsters were the ones from my childhood. Turns out, my worst monster had the most hypnotic metallic eyes and the inkiest black hair. He has a penetrating gaze that dissects me and sees straight into the darkest depths of my soul.
My monster is all tall, powerful, and beautiful.
My monster is Aiden King.

This trilogy ended with a BANG. I am not going to be forgetting their story for a long while. It’s imprinted in my mind. I honestly loose interest in characters when it comes to trilogy but fortunately I couldn’t get enough of Aiden and his possessive ways. This author is fucking brilliant and am thinking why the hell did I started it so late and at the same time glad that I finally did. Each book packed a hell of a punch. Their was so many unexpected twists and turns, mystery, suspense and whole lot of romance.

”Fuck them.” Aiden grips my chin with two fingers as his other hand yanks my boy shorts down my legs. “I need you, sweetheart. I fucking need to be inside you like I need air.”
I need you, too.
But I don’t have to say it aloud. Aiden must’ve read it in my eyes. He really knows me more than I know myself.

What I loved the most was how I got to see the soft and vulnerable side to Aiden. Don’t worry he was definitely his arrogant, possessive and obsessive self but with whole lot of sweetness too. His love for Elsa was fierce and so beautiful. They truly were soulmates.

We finally got all the answers about their past and it honestly made me shed a few tears( which is really hard for me). How they had to pay for their parents mistakes. But then again it only made their journey more epic and amazing. They were each other’s strengths as kids as well as adults. I don’t know how this author does it but their chemistry was just as steamy and hot as the first time. Honestly each time just makes me blush more and more and I wound not have it any other way.

The secondary characters were just as funny and interesting as ever. I also loved the two newest addition Knox and Teal who are foster siblings of Elsa. I enjoyed how we got a little glimpse into Ethan and Jonathan’s mind as well. Ethan was truly an amazing father to Elsa.

She’s mine. Fucking mine.
It’s not only her body or her heart that I’m interested in, I want her entire soul so she’ll never be able to leave me.
Some would argue this isn’t the right thing, but fuck the right thing.
Elsa and I didn’t meet under the right circumstances. We just met, and then we re-met, and then we became inseparable.

I am sad that their story has come to an end, I feel like I still haven’t had my fill of them and here I thought I was going to get bored(silly me). Their story shows us that we can overcome anything and always to look for the future. I can’t say it enough but you need this author in your life ASAP. Fall in love with Aiden just like I did.

P.S : I think Ronan and Teal are going to have their story. A arranged marriage romance. That’s my best guess. Also I can’t wait to get my hands on Cole and Silver’s story. ♥️

So I gave the first book 5 stars
The second book 4 stars

And now this
See the thing is, when the characters constantly have sex all the damn time, there is a breaking point for some people. And the third book was my breaking point.

This series should have been a duology. It would have been hands down one of the best series I would have read this year. But this last book ruined everything for me. I’m sorry but this one was filled with TOOO MUCH EXTRA DRAMA. Like the side characters are getting their own books, so I don’t want to read about them here. I just want Aiden and Elsa. But even their story was being dragged on and on. Lmao this one scene god. I have to speak about it because IDEK. So Aiden and Elsa are LOCKED in the basement. So what do they do? 🙄
They had sex....... Anal sex for the first time.

And each book Elsa omg Idek what happened to her she went from being strong to being hypnotized by Aidens dick.

So anyway the two stars is for the epilogue because I’m happy that Aiden and Elsa finally got their happy ending and was also happy to read that Aiden was still as possessive as before.
