Such an incredible story, but I'm panicking. It ended with the promise of a third book, Gravest Girl, and I don't know how to get my hands on a copy...or whether it has even been written yet.... :-(

"...The current gardener of Rippon is a human female. I cannot think of a weaker enemy.”

Think again! Samantha "Sam" Marker is no typical female. She's not worried about getting her hair out of place or breaking a nail. Sam has spent the past year guarding the devil's tomb. She knows how to take care of business (and she happens to be one of my favorite female characters of all time)!

When dark forces combine to resurrect mankind's most notorious evil being, it is Sam who is charged with the difficult task of setting things right. Will she be prepared for the challenge?

"What kind of weaponry do you possess?”
“I... I have a shovel...”

I've spent the past six months raving about Amy Cross. I love all of the stories I've read by her so far but I must admit, this series is my absolute favorite. The Grave Girl novels are more complex and profound, enabling an emotional connection to the characters, who, by the way, are so amazing. They are well developed and intricate--each one serving an integral role within the story. The books are perfectly paced and packed with plenty of action and suspense.
This book, in particular, created an eerie atmosphere and filled me with that unsettling feeling of dread. It's not often at all that a book can get me so immersed in the story, so fond of the characters and so worried for them that I rearrange my schedule and neglect responsibilities in order to continue reading to ensure that everthing turns out okay.

The story is intense, but there are plenty of humorous moments to ease the tension. For example, Sam, greatly unnerved by the grim turn of events, turns to the Undertaker for advice after an important glass enclosure is broken.
“Here is what you must do...[i]t's very important. You must get a dustpan and brush, and you must sweep up all the broken shards of glass. If you don't, someone might cut their foot.”
I seriously had a good giggle over that. It wasn't quite the advice Sam was hoping for...!

I have no chance of doing this fabulous book sufficient justice within my review. If you enjoy a combination of horror, thriller, suspense and fantasy, I have a feeling you will greatly enjoy this one. I highly recommend it!

***This book is currently not available on Amazon, but the author has informed me that she will be re-releasing it soon. Be patient, it's worth the wait!***

This sequel read more like a cozy than an Amy Cross book. I enjoy cozies, so that's not a bad thing. Only unexpected.
In the first book we learn of a graveyard gardener and her burden of keeping Satan locked away in a tomb.
In the sequel, Sam is her usual likeable self. Anna is there, too. She had the best part of the story of sewing a corpse's limbs on her zombie body. The relationship between the two characters felt off.
It was silly the way the world was in danger, Satan was loose, and characters were being petty wrapped up in their own minor problems. Nobody seemed to be fearful of the end of the world
The ending tho? OMG!!!! What a cliffhanger. Can't wait to read the next book.
I did notice a couple times where character names were wrong, but they're minor typos that can be easily figured out

I read this when it first came out but then it vanished.

It's a spooky follow-on (obviously) about a girl who works in a graveyard...no spoilers.

It's fast-paced and has all the usual ingredients for this genre, however, with this author, there is always an element of originality.

I enjoyed it.

Nice addition to book Grave Girl book 1

Pretty much this book starts off where book one left off. Sam's watching over the devils Tomb . Anna still a zombie is helping her out at the cemetery rotting away when she meets a cute boy who's sister has passed on. He asks her out, sort of and she knows she can't go being a zombie basically. Then as she's tending to Scott's sisters body she gets the idea for spare parts. Pretty gross. But it works.
Then this weird thing with ravens happens attacking Sam. They also caused the accident that killed the girl but no one knows this. All of a sudden this rival comes to town and yes it's Raven Revival.odd coincidence , I don't think so. As Sam works to keep the devil entombed as these ravens try to free him everything turns really bad. The devil is gone , just as Sam thinks she can entomb herself with him to keep him down there.
So now she goes to Charles raven who runs this revival for help later realizing he's no help at all but just evil. Using her son against her. There's a lot about anna in this book and it all turns out for the best after she saves Sam's life.
It's a page Turner as the first book was. It just keeps you so intrigues you can't help but read on. I read it in a day. Not that it's the longest book but not the shortest either.

Anyways the only thing that irritated me throughout the book was that when Anna was talking the mistake of sans name would be printed instead. Kinda confusing until you realize it's a error. This actually happens a lot about the second half of the book .
Other then that it's a good story and scant wait for book three to see what the deal il is up too and since he really doesn't seem to be a threat is it really Sam who us going to be?
A lot if questions here. And when is she going to find Henry since he's constantly brought up?
We know with the knife sticking out if her head she can't leave Rippton yt? Maybe the devil can help with that. I guess we will find out maybe in book three.

If you read book one Grace Girl you'll want to read this it's very good besides the obvious error if the names. And you won't want to stop reading until the end. Sam's still got a lot to learn about being The Last Gardener and now the devil is free.

I'm sorry but, this was a chaos.

BEWARE of SPOILER

1. Why in the world would Sam check the Devil deep down there, every night? I got the impression that the Devil should be left alone. Not tuck to bed every night.

2. In the first book, Sam accepted all the help she could get even though she was still not trusting. There was Faraday, Sparky and Zombie Anna by her side. In this book, she only got Anna and yet, she brushed her aside like Anna meant nothing.

3. People were not panicking. Unlike the first book, where I felt the panic and horror of the Devil waking up, in this one, it's like the Devil waking up was nothing. Where's the panic from the Undertaker or the Mayor or Andy?

4. If the town was so holy that the Devil couldn't get out, why trapped him in the first place? I mean, the Devil was no idiot to let himself being rule by puny human right.

You see, if there ever a plan for a third book, I don't see how AC is going to proceed without making it any ridicolous. The limited options were either the Devil go back to sleep or Sam destroyed the world as prophesied.

Another bizarre and very enjoyable story from Amy Cross.

Samantha has to face further dangers and deal with all manner of strangeness...no spoilers from me.

I love the writing style of this author (despite the numerous typos), but the way she brings alive characters, all set amongst the weird and wonderful, is appealing and certainly makes her stories page-turners.

Although this book is no longer available on Amazon - don't know why - I hope that the next book in the series will soon be on sale.

One of my favourite authors for sure.

A mixed bag!

This sequel was not as good as Book 1. It started slowly and I almost gave up but then the pace was upped and I found it quite enjoyable, until the final chapters. The ending was, quite ridiculous. However, I will be reading Book 3, even if this series is not up to the author's usual standard.

Good evening Goodreads Family, I gave the book “Raven Revivals” 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a 3 book Trilogy and I love it!! 🥰 These are not the type of books that I would normally read but I am so happy that I did. Sam Marker who is really the main character. She is the Last Gardener (you’ll understand if you read the book) so she has a big mission to accomplish and she is doing it for the 1 person she loves with all her heart ❤️ Although he doesn’t know she exists but maybe one day he will. I am confident that if you give yourself a chance you’ll love this book or better said Trilogy. Any who, I am starting to read the 3rd and final book of the Trilogy. Hopefully, the 3rd book 📖 will be just as good!!

While I enjoyed the continuation of the first book, but somewhere in the editing process, a few major things didn’t get caught and hindered the story. During scenes of Anna, it suddenly says that Same did this or Sam said that when Sam is on the other side of town. I can deal with the minor misspelling, a wrong word here and there (where auto correct changes the word and it doesn’t get caught) But, the changes of the character happened multiple times throughout the book. Definitely, think it needs to go through the editing process again more attention made. I’ve started the third book, and One scene reminded me of these issues and I’m hoping it won’t be used as an excuse.

I liked this sequel, perhaps not as much as the first entry but still found it quite enjoyable. I do admit the grammatical mistakes bugged me ( mixing up Sam's and Anna's names) but I can overlook it for the dark humor and British-ness of the characters; otherwise the setting just won't work. people politely ignoring our protagonist has a knife sticking in her skull seems rather British.
a little bit cliche' in parts and lacking the emotional impact of the first book but still interesting to hold my attention.

Oh my gosh, what a great book. Amy Cross is such a great writer and this book has got to be one of her best. At least I think it is. I am not a fan of zombies, but she had me laughing about one of the main characters who sort of was one. I loved the story and now plan to read the first book. I didn't know it existed until I finished this one but I hope it's a good. You have got to give this book a try. I think you'll find yourself laughing and enjoying it as much as I did.

After reading Grave Girl I was eager to read this sequel and I was not disappointed. I loved that we still followed the storyline with both Sam and Anna, and reading about Anna's fight for humanity continues. Its another great read but it has such a cliff hanger ending I'm left pining for the next installment of this series. I am hoping there is another otherwise I'm going to be very upset lol.

Keeps getting better!

In this installment we see Sam and Grace teamed up together (somewhat) still trying to run the cemetery and keep the Devil asleep and in his grave. However, this is Rippon and darker forces are drawn to the area (the Devil is buried there after all), so mayhem ensues. Looking forward to the third and final? I hope not! In this wonderful series.

She did at again.

Amy Cross has told another wonderful tale.
Zombies, ghosts, Devil, good guys, and bad guys all over the place.
I'm really beginning to enjoy Sam's cemetery small world.
Looking for to the next book as soon as I'm done writing this.
Take a look and enjoy Book 2 everyone!

Enjoyable read

I like the characters. I have grown fond of Sam and Annie. This is just an odd town with a very human woman with the weight of the world on her shoulder. I hope this grave caretaker wins in the end.

Necessary...

While this book was critical in the saga, it was a hard read for me. I couldn't seem to get into it until the end. But being " the middle child " you have to read it to get to the third. Not a bad book ( except for the typo's.....again ) just a little slow moving.

Must Read

Really a good series of books. Supernatural storyline loaded with humor, horror, and plenty of suspense.
Sam is the lead character. Her friend is a zombie/ghost. #gardener #devil #save the world.

Where to begin!

First off, the fact that Amy Cross messed up Anna and Sam's names several times makes me wonder if she was a bit high when writing this one. Then the grammatical errors are as numerous. The story carries on, but it's just not as intriguing as it started out to be.

Great part 2!

Once more Sam’s back with her friends to help her. Something is-going on in the cemetery, right as a traveling ministry comes to town. Called Ravens Revivals. Who should she trust to he,p her ensure the devil stays in his crypt?

Good story in the series but so many typos... It became very distracting after a while, mostly Sam's name instead of Anna's.

Grave girl and graver girl are a total delight

Amy Cross has become one favorite writers of paranormal venue. But these two books are a wonderful mixture horror and laugh out loud humor, not to mention characters you truly come to care about. All of this she blends into into a series that really works. Can hardly for the third book.
