OK, it's probably just me, but I can't stand proselytizing in a book about sewing! There were some cute ideas and patterns in this book, but I should have known by the cover that I'm not the target audience.
This is one of the cutest sewing books I've read. And I've read plenty. And written one! This one is just full of sweet projects like the Riverwalk Skirt, tea towels, and even oven towels made from cotton. I found it very original and very beautiful. For me it's a must have.
I've made quite a few of the patterns in this book; the tiered skirt was an experience! I love the Maggie Bag and plan to make a few for gifts. I have made enough things from this one that I am now systematically working my way through all of the patterns!
I bought this book, which only happens with a select few sewing books! (And after I've had it multiple times or for months from the library)
I liked the patterns for the bags, but not the clothes. Just not my style, but they would be good for a first time sewer. Lots of good sewing tips. I will be trying some of the bags.
I liked the designs in this book very much. I made the little button pouch and one of the bags. None of the clothes appealed to me. Some good instructions for basic, simple patterns that can be adapted to your taste.
Great book for new sewers. Tons of sewing projects from tote bags to cute shirts, etc. I give this book three stars because of the simplicity and style. I would definitely recommend this books to new sewers and all crafters that are interested in sewing.
Simple easy projects for a beginner sewing that look very country. There wasn't anything in here that was striking or particularly memorable. I would think that everything could be made quickly.
