Mark Dawson was born in Lowestoft and grew up in Manchester and Chicago. He has worked as a lawyer and currently works in the London film industry. His first books, "The Art of Falling Apart" and "Subpoena Colada" have been published in multiple languages.
He is currently writing two series. Soho Noir is set in the West End of London between 1940 and 1970. The first book in the series, "The Black Mile", deals with the (real life but little known) serial killer who operated in the area during the Blitz. "The Imposter" traces the journey of a criminal family (think The Sopranos in austerity London and you'd be on the right track).
The John Milton series features a disgruntled special agent who aims to help people to make amends for the terrible things that he has done. Mark, as a child of the 80s, will freely admit that he watched a lot of The Equalizer in his youth.

This is the tenth book in the Charlie Cooper series and one of my favorites in the series. It is another shorter length, novella style book but those 137 pages are filled with non stop action and lots and lots of drama.
This book has Charlie being sent on an assignment to "take care" of a Chinese scientist who is very close to developing a biological weapon for the Chinese. The scientist is attending a scientific conference in Singapore with his hopes of learning how to figure out the final missing steps in his project from one of the lecturers who is a leader in his field. This lecturer's presentation at the conference just might have the insight and the information that he is missing.
Unfortunately for Charlie, there are 3 MSS bodyguard type minders who are with the scientist non stop and are making it difficult for him to get close enough to carry out his assignment.
There is also another side story with a female agent that he knew in the past who is at the same conference as Charlie - also using an alias - but she has a different assignment with a different target. The two end up deciding to work together to help each other out, but that is where things take a very bad turn.
As I mentioned earlier, this is one of my favorite storylines so far and I was hooked right up until the very last page.
This book is narrated by David Thorpe who does his usual brilliant narration.

Go Charlie
This was an outstanding thriller! Mark Dawson continues to develop these characters in an awesome way. The twists and turns, I didn't see coming made this a great ride and caused me to greatly anticipate the next book. My only problem is I've read every single book from all characters, and I hate to wait!!

Fantastic brilliant not to be missed
Cooper sent on a mission to end a scientist but a twist he thinks that his target wants to detect, seeing an old friend turns this story on it's end,twists betrayal and finally seeking vengeance. Loved it thank you Mark Dawson you do have a twisted mind lol

Another epic read from the master storyteller that is Mark Dawson. Great plot and a fabulous ending.
The only problem is that these novellas are too short.
Would love a full-length novel of Charlie with perhaps a Milton crossover too

Charlie Cooper is amazing!
Mark Dawson has the ability to keep the reader's attention to see what will happen next. This book is unputdownable, and I highly recommend it. Happy reading! 😊

Great, fast paced mission
This was a great fast paced mission Charlie Cooper read. I could not put this book down. Don't want to give anything away. Definitely a recommended read.

loved this book
Mark Dawson does an excellent job with thrillers. Good plots, lots of twists and turns, action a,d mystery. Plenty of good characters, I love Charlie Cooper. All of these books are keepers. Highly recommend anything Mark Dawson writes.

I loved it. Charlie got himself in a quandary and solicited an old friend as an ally, but he made a mistake. He was warned she wasn’t to be trusted. He got the job done anyway and his retribution is fantastic.

Another fine novel.
Mark Dawson’s latest in the Charlie Cooper Thrillers series is another gem. Dawson has the rare ability to create diverse characters that are interesting and he writes male and female characters well. His books are sparkling clean, no mistakes slip by his editors, and his prose is simply a joy to read.
