The men in this town have taken everything from me.... and I'm not the only one. When my birthday comes, and the last thread of my sanity snaps, my old dolly starts whispering things to me... and she has some very fun ideas on how to punish those who have wronged me. With her cruel and wicked words consuming me a little more each day, I decide to take my mom's old boat - the only piece of her I have left - and plot our revenge.
They will all get what is coming to them, even if I have to hunt them down one by one. Starting with the one who laid hands on the love of my life. Allie may not know it yet - but she is mine.

I may not know who the beautiful blonde is that came to my rescue, but I certainly intend to find out. She is brave, outspoken, and real. Which is hard to find in a snobby town like Warren, Connecticut. Here, wealth and public appearances are all that matter. Women are nothing more than trophies to be admired, then used. I never did fit in... and I'm starting to wonder if the strange feelings my new admirer sparks might just be why.
People say she is a sociopath, but I think she is brilliant.

Sixth book in the Nightmares on Lull Lane Series.
Avery’s home life is anything but idyllic, her father is abusive and treats her like property. Allie, is her one saving grace, she sees the darkness surrounding Avery as her own calls to it. Add Edith, into the mix and what we have here is a revenge story, to the ultimate conclusion.
𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥. 𝘖𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘰𝘶𝘴....𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐'𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵. 𝘐𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥.
Really, liked this one with how the pieces fall together regarding Savannah. The story flows well and that ending gonna need more 🤪 Loved the spice between Avery and Allie, then Edith stepped in not saying anymore 😈

I’m giving this book four stars because, even though it wasn’t exactly what I expected, I really liked the prologue — the letter, and how the mother, together with Savannah, helped her with the revenge plan involving the dolls. It gives a good setup for everything that comes next.
We also get a glimpse of what kind of man Avery’s father is — he doesn’t have much presence in the story, but it’s made very clear what kind of monster he is, how disgusting and vile, and how much he deserves what’s coming to him.
I also liked Ally’s role and how she stood by Avery through everything. Their dynamic and slow burn were very well written. However, I felt the story focused more on their relationship and attraction than on the revenge plot. It gave me more dark romance than revenge horror vibes, and while the revenge does happen, it’s basically in the last chapter — I just expected a bit more action or intensity there.
Another thing that didn’t completely work for me was how often the book talks about men in a very negative, almost propaganda-like way. It felt a bit too much at times.
Overall, though, I liked it. It has a unique atmosphere and a different kind of vibe — just much lighter and less dark than I was expecting. Still, it was a solid and enjoyable read.

Don’t Look Back (Book 6 in the Lull Lane shared series) was a decent read. The author is very talented, and I enjoyed the psychopathic/sociopathic edge of the main character, Avery. I also really liked Allie’s role in the story.
Even though it’s a well-written book, I personally struggled with the tone. The story leaned heavily into themes of male negativity, which made it hard for me to stay connected to the characters or the message. I appreciate what the author was trying to explore, but it felt one-sided at times and might alienate readers who prefer a more balanced perspective.
I don’t discourage anyone from reading it—it just wasn’t the right fit for me personally.

What in the difference? I loved that this book is also different from the others. Edith is very special. Avery’s story is just like the others where her home life isn’t very good at all. She has a beautiful loving mother who isn’t like the rest and a POS father who is abusive. Allie becomes a quick friend turned more? Quick read of horror obsessed spiciness. Ending came too fast.

Don’t Look Back by Raelynn Harper (Book 6 in the Nightmares on Lull Lane series) hooked me from the very first page. The story and characters are richly developed, and the immersive writing kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
Avery and Allie are such a captivating couple! Watching how they found each other and how their bond grew was pure joy. Edith, the doll, is crazy and creepy, stands out with a unique purpose. She’s my favorite.
Stella, Avery’s mother, played a poignant role. Her friendship with Savannah and the heartbreaking letter she leaves for Avery added so much emotional depth. I loved seeing Edith and Allie team up with Avery—their trio is unstoppable. And yes, Avery’s father Christopher got exactly what he deserved! The ending completely surprised me, I wasn’t expecting it at all.
This book, along with the previous five in the series, is a must-read—perfect for a spooky-season binge.

My first 5* for this series!!
Avery is the daughter of a filthy abusive rapist. One that hurt Savannah. Who hurt her godmother. Her dad tries selling her off like cattle. Who killed her mother. She cannot wait to see the end of him
This was a slight love story where avery finds the woman of her dreams! This was super sweet and yet gory at the same time. It was a perfect mix of them both: this is the story I was hoping for from the get go. A solid storyline with the perfect balance of romance and gore. I was so heavily invested in this I binged it relatively quick! The stories seem to be getting better and better and I am looking forward to seeing what else is within the next stories!

The prologue in this hit a bit different in this book than the other of the series which I loved because it features Stella from the end of book 1 The Dollmaker.
This book definitely had a different vibe, personally for me even though it’s not advertised as a dark romance it gave off the vibe of one, as probably about 80/85% focused on the attraction/obsession/relationship between Allie and Avery, yes there were some intrusive and violent thoughts and it gives you a bit of an insight into what kind of person Christopher is, but the actual ‘fun’ / ‘revenge’ didn’t actually kick in until really late in the book (chapter 10) and it did feel a bit rushed, gory but rushed.
All in all it was still a good read and good addition to the NOLL series.
Don’t Look Back is part of the multi-author Nightmares of Lull Lane series.

This installment of the NOLL Lane series shines a spotlight on Avery and the intriguing doll named Edith. It's such an enjoyable read! i loved every single thing about this book.. everything. this was different from the rest and i'm so so happy i got to read this! oh my goodness!!
the first full sapphic read,i knew i would love it,sapphic is my favourite and this is no exception. it's perfect. in every way.
raelynn's story line has me all the way pulled in,so thrilling and such a joy to read,i'm literally obsessed🥹 THE TWIST GOT ME.. i was all the way messed up and then i saw THE END? and i was like what.. NO?? and then it said maybe.. so i will cry if nothing more comes of this! they are so perfect i can't🥹🥹
i have 0 complaints honestly and im rendered speechless so let's do some ratings so i can explain my thoughts a little🩷
characters?? ♾️⭐️ i loved avery and allie more than anything! and AVERY.. she caught me all the way off guard,she caught me in ways i didn't expect,im not saying too much but damn she is a murderous little bitch! and she's the 'popular looking girl' not the goth girl! colour me curious because i love the switch up! & allie. i love her so much,we were lucky enough to see character art of these girls and let me tell you,allie is as beautiful as she is described,gothic princess if you will. the characters are so different yet so similar,they are the typical opposites attract,in the best way! avery is strong,powerful and she knows what she wants,allie is eager to please and a kind soul,they mesh together perfectly,SO PERFECTLY! edith! boy let me tell you about edith,that girl is CRAZY. the craziest doll of all i would argue, her purpose is different,she was built for something different and let me tell you i loved every single second of this story,truly she did so good being a great doll! truly! love edith! i want an edith!
plot??? ♾️⭐️ this plot line is very different to the others and really single's out a particular part in savannah's story and her storyline and let me tell you i didn't actually expect a storyline change like this but when i tell you.. IT WORKS! i LOVED it!! the plot is so dense in this you learn a lot about the greater storyline and savannah's motive,you also hear from the parents directly,in a metaphorical sense,it was a joy to read/hear from avery's mom. and also.. the inclusion of other stories but also this being completely different,it works! it really does! this storyline fits perfect for avery and allie,and i don't honestly think it could've worked better! the style of writing,the pacing,the details,the formatting,it is all perfect. it truly makes the best plot of the series🥹
spice + gore?? 🩸🩸 + 🌶️🌶️🌶️ this isn't super gorey,or spicy but it works so well for their story! the spice will always be my favourite in sapphic,it's just my preferred pairing to be honest! but this one.. i loved the double ended.. erm action. i loved the spice taking a control x submission side and from a character you wouldn't typically expect no less!! the gore is not super yucky but the CATTLE PROD.. Okay, so I’ll start by saying I’m not usually into books where the main couple is F/F, but since this one’s part of the series, I figured I’d give it a shot anyway.
We’ve got Avery, whose mom, Stella Lynn, was killed by her father,Christopher Porter. Stella Lynn was Savannah’s best friend and the only one who didn’t take part in the assault. She made a promise not to interfere with Savannah’s revenge, and honestly, that detail added a lot to her character.
The book actually starts with a letter from Avery’s mom, and I loved that. She explains everything so clearly and warns Avery about what’s coming now that she’s eighteen. It sets the tone for the whole story really well.
Avery’s dad though? The man is pure evil. Abusive, power-hungry, and just straight-up awful. He treats his daughter the same way he treated her mom, and it’s disturbing. The only reason he ever married Stella Lynn was to keep her quiet about what happened to Savannah and Tripp.
Then there’s Allie, Avery’s girlfriend. I’ll be honest, I couldn’t really get into their relationship. I skipped through most of the spicy parts because I just wasn’t feeling their chemistry. It felt like the story leaned more toward their romance than the revenge plot, which bummed me out a little. I did like that Allie was there for Avery, so she wasn’t completely alone, but I personally think they would’ve worked better as best friends instead of a couple.
Now let’s talk about Edith, Avery’s doll, because I loved her. She’s dark and sweet at the same time, totally unique compared to the other dolls. You can tell she was created to stand out, and every scene with her was my favorite part.
The ending really threw me for a loop. I was shocked, a little confused, but not mad about it. This series has never been about happy endings, and this book definitely stuck to that vibe.
Overall, it was a solid read. I just wish there’d been a little less romance and a little more revenge.

Harper manages to give us a storyline that has us feeling emotional for the characters, hoping for a HEA ending but fearing that it may come to a bleak end at any moment.

But she also has a dark side to herself. She has another woman on her mind. Her AllieCat who she watches and protects because in her mind, she belongs to her. But her father forbids her love interest, as he has other plans for her future that involves being sold off to the highest bidder.
Allie hasn't told Avery but she has a hidden lust for her. But she's never been with a woman before so her insecurity overpowers her judgement to allow herself to open up. With Avery, she feels comfortable. But after witnessing her father's brutality, alongside a doll named Edith, that was given to her with a letter by her mother that appeared on her eighteenth birthday, she may just have found a way for them to seek their revenge.
This is a sixty page banger that pulls you into its grasp and doesn't let go until the end. This sapphic romance is strong, even if one may not fully know how much the other really knew about them. The trauma bonding and climatic ending are enough for you to want to add this to your tbr immediately because I love the chemistry between Allie and Avery. Plus the dash of smut was perfectly woven into the story. A great addition to an already impactful series based on creepy lullabies.

You know this was well worth the wait.
I binged everything the other day and felt incomplete and now I know why.
This is my first time reading anything by this author and she did not disappoint. So this is a tie for first place for this series.
First of all the row row row your boat take. I loved it lol. I might sing it sometime.
Secondly the other kids, both parents are at fault and that’s why Edith is different. Stella and Savannah had a real friendship. So Avery had to be protected. I love that.
Now Edith. I thought clementine was a fool with it lol. But Edith.. EDITH. I wanna be besties!! Is she available for anybody I don’t like?! Because this doll cray cray.
Now revenge on Trey and daddy dearest. Did it happen rather quickly? Yes but it still served its purpose.
Allie and Avery. I love their story and I honestly wish it didn’t end. Or did it?

Don't Look back by Raelynn Harper is the sixth book in the Nightmare in Lulls Lane series. I thoroughly enjoyed this read however I would say it's more of a dark romance, slow burn then a revenge story which should be noted before diving in.
Raelynn did a phenomenal job bringing her characters to life. I loved the dynamic between Avery and Allie, the connection and building relationship was done great. I did feel although we see the dark and psychopathic edges to the characters throughout, it felt more like a romance and the revenge was held more to the end.
I loved the prologue Raelynn gave us, which set the scene on the connection to Savannah aside from a parent, I loved the mother's POV and her bittersweet moment and letter. The way it was all tied together was done beautifully and really set the setting.
Although in most the stories we get the POV of the parent that caused the ripple effect to bring the dolls to life, we quickly learn the villain in the story.
I did enjoy this read and hope to not discourage anyone from reading it, like stated it was a phenomenal read. It has room for growth or ways to fill in the cracks to give more of a horror theme and I loved the ending and am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Don’t Look Back is book six of the Nightmares of Lull Lane, written by Raelynn Harper. There are 11 books in this series; aside from the first and last books, they can be read in any order. They are standalones, but they do refer back to a central plot established in book one. All the books in the series are horror, and some may edge toward splatterpunk. All of the books are considered novellas. I love this concept a lot and look forward to reading the entire series!

Once again this book takes you for a spin in this twisted revenge story.
This is the story of Avery and her possessed doll Edith. We watch Avery go thru many different things in this wild story. From the loss of her mother, to the truth about her father, to finding out about the truth of Savanah, to losing the girl she had a thing for.
This story is so well written and will take you on another wild twisted ride like all the books so far in this series do.
If you like horror stories, possessed dolls, and revenge stories…. Then you need to read this book. Make sure to read the first five first as they all tie into each other.

Book #6 of the Nightmares On Lull Lane series. As with all the other books, please check trigger warnings. I feel like if you’re already this deep into the series, you should know what to expect by now. This book is no different.
I absolutely loved this addition to the series. I think this one hit me in the feelings more than some of the others. So much so I actually ended up tearing up multiple times. The revenge hits hard and fast, but I enjoyed every second of the build up till then. It gave a nice amount of depth without taking away from the main theme of this story, revenge! I think I need to find myself some best friends like Allie and Edith. The crazy, obsessive, unhinged thing they’ve got going on was to die for… or not.
I think this is the first piece of work I’ve read by Raelynn and I love her writing style. I will be adding all her work to my TBR immediately. It flowed so well for me and I need more.

Book 6 in The Nightmares on Lull Lane series and although this book felt a bit more like dark romance in my opinion until very near the end when the horror/ gore kicked in for revenge, the story weaved perfectly together with the others.
This book focused on Avery and her captivating doll called Edith. Avery met the girl of her dreams, Allie and the trio become a force to be reckoned with.
Where this story differs from the others is that Avery had a very loving mother who was not involved in Savannah’s brutal attack, however her father Christopher very much was, and had not changed at all. I really got pulled into the headspace of Avery, the rage, the pain, the plan. I appreciated the way Harper let that simmer instead of just blasting off into chaos. The connection with Allie builds with a nice balance of tension and tenderness, which felt genuine.
On the flip side: a few of the revenge beats and plot reveals hit familiar territory (the “I’m not safe, they’re not safe” arc) and I found myself predicting one twist before it landed. A little more surprise would’ve bumped this up even further for me.
What I enjoyed most: the writing has sharp edges when it needs them but also slows when it counts, giving space for characters to matter, not just plot mechanics. If you’re into dark, emotional reads with sapphic romance and a sharpened sense of vengeance, this is a strong pick. Just know: it leans into themes you’ve seen before, but with enough heart and intensity to make it worth diving in.

This one is a little different from the others, in that it’s only Avery’s father that is a massive scumbag. I don’t want to say much more than that as I don’t want to give any major spoilers in my review.
In this book, Avery finds the utter love of her life that accepts her for who she is, darkness and all. This sapphic love story is truly bittersweet. I loved Avery and Allie’s relationship and the sheer trust that have for one another. I also loved that Allie didn’t really question the fact that Edith was a talking, homicidal doll!
Now for Edith… She is truly a murderous little delight. She is a perfect match for our FMC, and seems to love both her and her maker in equal measure. She also murders with utter glee, and I’m certainly down for that! This book is 100% what you would expect from a horror anthology, and has made me more excited to read the rest of the books.

NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING
Please Note: This book and series has a massive trigger warning list and there are some heavy actions that aren't for everyone!
Don't Look Back is Book 6 of the Nightmares on Lull Lane series and this was really enjoyable. The writing from Raelynn Harper had me completely engrossed in this novella, I wasn't expecting this story but so glad we received something out of the ordinary. With the prologue being the key to this story, I was intrigued about the relationship between Avery and her doll Edith as it's not like the other children. Throw in Ally and this character combination was perfect, the connections, emotions and spark, tangible! I will think of this book every time I hear Row, Row, Row Your Boat!! And that ending, just wow, so much more to look forward to!!!!

Book 6 in the Nightmares on Lull Lane series
This one was also very connected to the original. The relationship between the two main characters in this book was a little confusing. One of them stalks the other one but doesn't know much about her outside of that and the other one is seems like doesn't know her at all but then talks about how she knows this and that about her. That made it hard to follow and I found myself confused about that. Definitely an instant obsession book. This one started out pretty strong but ended up feeling very, very rushed by the end of the story. I know that the author had some things happen that were out of her control and I am sure that is why so I will absolutely not hold that against her and will still want to read future books from her. The ending of this story has me very, very intrigued!!
