Better late than never - THE OFFICIAL NOVELIZATION TO THE CULT CLASSIC TREMORS!In the desolate Nevada desert lies the tiny town of Perfection— 14. Life moves slowly in this forgotten speck on the map, until handyman duo Val McKee and Earl Bassett decide they’ve had enough of the dead-end town and hit the road. But before they can escape, they discover a grisly series of deaths—and something strange lurking underground.
As mysterious tremors shake the earth and people start disappearing, Val and Earl uncover the terrifying giant, carnivorous worm-like creatures are tunneling beneath the surface, hunting anything that moves. Cut off from the outside world, the residents of Perfection must band together to outwit the relentless monsters, now dubbed “Graboids,” using only their wits, limited resources, and an unhealthy amount of dynamite.
Fast-paced, suspenseful, and darkly funny, Beneath Perfection brings new depth to the cult horror-comedy classic, delivering thrills and laughs while exploring the resilience of a community under siege, right beneath their feet.
A hell of a ride through a dusty ass old town in the middle of nowhere.
As usual, Christian adds his uniquely descriptive storytelling to an already action packed screenplay and creates something entirely unique, hilarious and just a massive dose of nostalgic fun.
I felt like I could picture every detail in my head, it was all described so well. Appreciate the extra scenes and character work that is added! The length of this book was perfect for a quick read that was totally different than all the other things I'm currently reading.
Zoran did an awesome job making each character their own! It didn't feel like everyone had the same voice. I sometimes don't like having men doing women's voices (or vice-versa) but I was pleasantly surprised with the multiple female voices he was able to do without making everyone a "valley girl" if you know what I mean. I especially loved the little Zoran Easter egg in the credits. It's such a lovely special thing for someone to get to do something they love with the things they're a fan of.
I usually don't like giving 5 stars but this was a fun read. I liked the movie and I certainly liked its novelization; it made me laugh--in a good way--in more than one spot. There were at most five typos in the book. Nothing to keep your eyes lingering on. Veredicto: A darn good and fun read.
