I feel the same about this book as I have all the ones in the series so far; the story line and the smut are fine but the writing can get a little repetitive. Since it’s such a short book sometimes it can feel rushed too. But overall I like this book and this series! Quick and easy reads, and I really like the character development.
This book is classified as Paranormal Romance, and is book eight of a connected series. It does have a trigger warning list: spicy references, graphic spicy content, references to DV, scars, injury from fire, death from fire, and fire-play, addiction, brief NONCON, breath play, DOM/SUB scenes, praise, daddy, age gap, blood play/biting, foster siblings, mention of suicide.
The book is written in first person. This book has multiple point of views: Nova, Zephyra, Tanner, Sam, Luther, Mack, Kole, Nico, Kim, and Lucien. Nova, Tanner, Luther, Kole, and Mack are from books one through seven, Same is from books three through seven, Kim and Lucien are from book seven, and Nico is from books three through four and six. Zephyra is a vampire and has a history with Kole. Kole and Nova are captured, while Mack's health is getting worse. Kim is injured and there is a betrayal within the group.
Honestly, as much as I love these characters I am getting kinda tired. It feels like events are repeating themselves and there are no wins, like ever. It makes it a really disheartening series to read cause you know nothing good is ever going to happen, I'll probably keep reading them cause they are so short and easy to read but I won't lie, I am not enjoying them as much as i used to. What was the point in introducing a new and interesting character just to kill them off. Having a new personality was really helping this book out for a little bit. I think it really could have helped in the long run . But, NO. I hope that this series either wraps up quickly or becomes more interesting cause right now it is losing me.
✨️Book Review✨️ Ice - Cara Clare (264📖) (3rd August - 5th August) 4⭐️ 4🌶
Ice is the 8th book in The Phoenix Prophecy and it just keeps getting better and better. I enjoyed Ice a bit more than Blood, I was just getting ready to throw my kindle a bit more with some of the scenes in Ice😂. I'm excited to see how these 3 last books all wrap up and can't wait to get through Snow to get to the conclusion. As I said in my review for Blood though, my Snow and Daddy Mack better be okay in the end. I don't think I can heal from the emotional damage if anything were to happen to either/both of them.
If you haven't already, you NEED to read all 9 books of The Phoenix Prophecy (they're all available on KU) and Luna too. You won't regret it in the slightest.
Honestly zephyra is pretty cool but nova is cooler. I love the fact kole refused to have sex with zephyra even when nova said it was OK so they stayed alive although wouldn't it class as cheating and I have a feeling if kole did do it nova wouldn't be happy and it would haunt her for ages. I'm glad mack is getting better and snow I hope they get the elixir and but themselves again in the last book!!! Then to find out zephyras heart is on the wrong side!!! Like wtf that is just weird 😐

The saga continues. Im enjoying the added lore and the extension on how everything is connected! This world was so much bigger but also close knitted to what we originally thought it was. And the added emotions here were a nice touch. Nico and Sam have gone through it and I'm glad its not being brushes over.
As always it was really good however this is definitely my least favorite of them all. After the underground, I might of stopped reading if I wasn't so addicted to the main characters and needing to know what happens next and how they face these challenges. On to book 9.... excited to see how it ends....
Decent, but really I’m probably just too far in to quit. I hate how fast the POV shifts now…too many characters and you’re only in their brain for a few pages. Plot is a little repetitive or slow. But foo far in.
The best part of this was the ending with Lucien and Zephyra's story. We're still left waiting to know if Mack is alright, if Sam will make it through his depression...there's just so many new things introduced the original story took a back seat. Not sure I'll finish this.
