REBECCA COHEN spends her days dreaming of living in a Tudor manor house, or a Georgian mansion. Alas, the closest she comes to this is through her characters in her historical romance novels. She also dreams of intergalactic adventures and fantasy realms, but because she’s not yet got her space or dimensional travel plans finalised, she lives happily in leafy Hertfordshire, England, with her husband and young son. She can often be found with a pen in one hand and sloe gin with lemon tonic in the other.

👑🧝🏻‍♂️🧛🏻‍♂️ the snarky fae prince × bitey vampire couple are back again to solve mysteries & save people 🛡🐉🕳️

it was a pleasure returning to this series & its fun characters! Rebecca Cohen has a great writing style which makes the storyline go seamlessly so i'm always hooked on these stories from the very beginning. it also makes it feel like i'm here along the ride, just laying back & trusting the characters & the narrative to guide me through the story! i love it!

naturally, Hyax & Gwil got a new big case (more like *enormous* really, lol, iykyk), a fascinating yet odd mystery to investigate which delivered the usual thrill of intrigue, magic (including blowing magic bubbles🫧✨), questionable potion making, some blood stuff (Gwill is a vamp so ofc there would be blood involved & the title might speak for itself. but also..🤫👀) along with some new lore and supernatural beings getting introduced - like, elves (particularly a very old one who came out of a djinn jar??? lol), dragons & their cousin/nemesis wyverns, powerful vampire-fae halflings, and many more, who all created a colorful, magical world that added to the story.

while there were some astonishing mystery and interesting fae/vampire politics at play, Hyax & Gwil's relationship felt more in focus this time which i definitely appreciated! don't get me wrong, i love a good mystery/crime-solving as well as any magical plot but their relationship development felt much needed (& what i had been missing from the previous books). also, i'm just a sucker for these romances, all the little (& big) moments & gestures that showed their love for one another were warming my heart & making me swoon!!

apart from all the sweet moments there were some troubles they needed to face. internally, some minor arguments, misunderstandings that mostly resulted in some jealousy & possessiveness which are always hot but these coupled with how sure they were in their relationship & about each other's feelings made it even more explosive, as well as made them feel more real - like a real, solid couple💞 tho, as they aren't an ordinary couple, they also needed to navigate their relationship in the vampire society & fae court which developed in more hopeful directions while also presenting some more challenges: Gwil finally getting recognized in vamp society, his (unquestionable) status at the fae court as the Prince's Beloved; Hyax's potential as a prince & his future at his fae tribe, him trying to get his marriage situation sorted, and probably most importantly, Hyax being Gwil's Eternal that's recognized by vamp society.

i've ranted a lot already ik, oops, but i gotta mention quickly some side characters as well: i adored Chris, he was so amusing!!!🤭 (his book is Repentance – Dark Earls #3). Simon shined in this book too as he did in the previous one, Searching for the Prince, along with his partner, Rob (their book is Destiny – Dark Earls #2). i haven't read their stories yet but fortunately this series, Fang & Fae, is written in a way that it can be enjoyed on its own, so all the crossovers are not confusing at all & i've never felt lost. but i def got really intrigued so it's probably high time i check out these connected books as well👀

lastly, this book, Bleeding for the Prince, left me with a bit of an open-ending feeling yet this probably also felt like the most solid HEA for the couple so far - which might sound contradictory lol but there are still some loose ends with promising teasers for their future so i'm definitely looking forward to seeing where Gwil & Hyax's story will go & what new adventures they get themselves into along the way!

3.75 stars rounded up

Look, I am rounding this up simply because of and it's my rating so I can give it anyway that I want 😆

So yes, Gwil and Hyax were hired to find out about paranormal activities that happened in a department store. And that lead to . Other than that, there was more development related to Hyax's marriage to Metra and what possible future was in it for our fae prince.

I really liked that this give opportunity for Gwil and Hyax to learn about each other's culture. I mean, they were best friends before, but they never crossed that romantic line until now. But Hyax being a prince and Gwil, a vampire, his lover, it brought all those responsibilities that entailed.

Gwil didn't understand the importance of the title Prince's Beloved and Hyax also didn't understand the significance of vampires' marriages and being a vampire's Eternal. So yes, being a couple means that they need to also adjust and compromise.

Gwilym Hilt is off to meet with a suspicious new client by the name of Madame Bovery, while Hyax has to attend a fancy gala. Hyax would have liked to have Gwil by his side because the gala involves Metra. He anticipated Hyax to be in a mood whenever they returned home. For now though, Gwil needs to keep his PI business going and has made it to Bled, a very upscale vampire club for those that are privileged. If it wasn’t for this client he would have never gotten in even though he was sired by Solivatus.

Once seated and waiting for this strange client, Robin Flint, Dark Viscount of Whetford makes an appearance. Of course, Robin is the new client, Madame Bovery. He’s come to pay his regards for Dark Viscount of MacLove, Simon, Robin’s husband. Gwil played a big part in saving Simon when he was kidnapped. Robin has the pleasure of presenting Gwil with plastic, a forever card for Jyndarin Society. Jyndarin Society is the most select group in the paranormal world. Even though Gwil doesn’t have paranormal powers, it’s the power he and Hyax have together. Two Heads of Houses gave their approval, the powerful Sebastian Hewel and Liam Cartwright.

When Gwil get’s home he lays the surprise gift on Hyax who is very suspicious of the Jyndarin card. Regardless, they had better things to do until they were rudely interrupted by Howard Squire. Squire owns Dante’s the biggest department store in London with nine floors. It caters to humans during the day and by nine pm it’s only open to those of the paranormal world. Squire was referred to Gwil by the trouble maker Oliver Hoffman. As there’s been eerie occurrences at Dante’s, the Warlock Ruling Committee was not concerned and neither was DCI Goya of Scotland Yards, Metro Police. When Hyax and Gwil hear of the goings on, Hyax is not willing to commit as he’s very suspicious this could be a promotional stunt to have a Prince in the store. He turns the investigation over to Gwil as he could tell it peaked his interest. As Gwil and Hyax take on this odd investigation, they can’t find any magic, spells or clues. What they find will take them underground of Dante’s and Gwil will search out help from Copperpipe.

As if the investigation at Dante’s wasn’t enough, there’s more issues brewing. Prince Hyax still has to deal with his mother Queen Talia and King James. Of course there’s the marriage to Metra, that involved the fae tribes of: Tasharick, Elementa, and Calanti.
Gwil will be attending formal etiquette lessons. Needless to say, will Gwil and Hyax’s relationship survive all the chaotic interferences, especially what’s underground?

Rebecca Cohen brings the third high energy book in the “Fang and Fae” series “Bleeding for the Prince”. Once again, she doesn’t miss a beat, as Gwil and Hyax have all kinds of issues popping up, and they can’t find a minutes peace. They will be tested by undetectable magic, spells, hexes and new types of paranormal individuals that they haven’t come up against. There’s also that touch of danger as they have to deal in a new potion and an oversized portal.

On the relationship side, they deal with: arguments, jealousy, misunderstandings and it brings on lot’s of surprises, snark, banter and humor. But Gwil and Hyax reflect that they have a solid love that keeps the intimate, steamy moments filled with trust and sparks.

Everyone get’s involved in this one to help Hyax and Gwil. They will even get to meet Chris the ancient warlord, light elf, Jack Webbs mate. Chris was Christopholous, imprisoned by the fae and lived in a jar for two-thousand years. There’s: Robin Flint and Simon MacLove, both Viscounts; Solivatus, Gwils sire; DCI Goya of Scotland Yard, Metro Police; and they will even meet Dark Earl of Crofton Hall, Ben Redbourn and more.

Once again, I highly recommend “Bleeding for the Prince” and the “Fang and Fae” series. If the series peaks interest, start with “Pinning for the Prince” and “Searching for the Prince” to find out about all the characters that keep the series delightfully entertaining. Another outstanding read from Rebecca Cohen and I’m excited to see what comes next from “Fang and Fae” and the “Dark Earl” series.

Bleeding for the Prince is the third book in the Fang and Fae series. In my opinion this series is best read in order. We are back with Gwil and Hyax for another adventure. I love how real these two are. They steamy moments, they fight, and have to deal with all the things couples do. The plot of this story was interesting also. We get to meet some new people. It's good to see Gwil finally get some recognition. I honestly hope we get more stories about these two. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

I love these two- the story is engaging, they have great chemistry, and the "mysteries" are interesting. I am excited for the next installment, but will jump into reading the Crofton hall books.

I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

ooof I found this installment in the Fang & Fae series simultaneously intriguing and unbearably tedious at times.

I DO love that the mysteries are always fun and interesting, and that the babes from Dark Earls add a lot of crossover charm to Gwil and Hyax's adventures in love and PI work.

But honestly, I really really hate:

❌Hyax's mom

❌and the whole "married to Metra for political reasons"

❌and the way the fae passive-aggressively sh!t on Gwil, and how Hyax has the nerve to get bent when Gwil picks up on that energy and feels poorly about himself.

A lot of the vibe outside of their romance, but related to their pairing, is VERY uncool. Hyax, though, makes a lot of sexy moves that get both Gwil and I super melty, and this continues an unstable emotional cycle which is just too much for me sometimes.

But Gwil's the beauty in this game and I love him to absolute bits, and I really want him to be happy, so I keep giving Hyax the benefit of the doubt even though in rl he wouldn't have made it past book 1.

I'm eager to see what this uber-exclusive alchemist is about though, because:

✔️ potions are awesome
✔️ and Hyax will for sure learn something ancient and fabulous
✔️ and then some magical disaster will happen
✔️ and then the Dark Earls/WRC will have to pop by…and getting it all sorted, with the whole dream team, would be like Freddie at Live Aid!

🤞🏽

And also, I'm really hoping Gwil and Hyax will level up their awkward, current relationship dynamic in Book 4 and really embody the whole Eternal/Prince's Beloved thing, because 3 books is too long for this nonsense.

rn there's "discussion" on the table.

Yes, it's as boring as it sounds.

AND

More than anything

I hope the next book will have

LESS of Hyax's mommie dearest

and MORE Gwil adoration!

Because he's worth all the love, and YES ofc ALL the black card financial/exclusive club entries in the world! But hopefully Book 4 will be more emotionally satisfying than this one was, because that's what I've been waiting for since this series began and I'm in pain.

Harrods or the nine circles of hell...

This author is new to me, and I am so glad I discovered this series. I love the mystery and suspense combined with the Victorian-era elite in a paranormal setting. The mystery has a bit of a classic Hercule Poirot vibe (Agatha Christie), which I love. And the characters are just wonderful. They are very diverse and well developed. I love Gwil and Hyax and how they make things work between them, despite all the setbacks they've had.
Dante is a department store, reminiscent of Harrods in London, but with a nod to the nine circles of hell, which the owners perhaps found more apt than expected. While Hyax goes through life as the prince he is, Gwil is a strange mix of (sometimes somewhat exaggerated) insecurity about his social status and confidence when he is at work, but he is slowly gaining more confidence in his status in the fae and vampire world.

I had a great time reading this story, its engaging, exiting, fun and has quite some unexpected twists and turns. This is my first book by this author, but definitely not my last. I've only read samples of the first stories, but I'm so enthousiastic about this one, I will read the first ones as well. Although I may start with the Dark Earls, since many characters originate from that series (Dark Earls 3 is connected to this story).

Gwil and Hyax are such a wonderful and unusual pairing. The fae prince and regular class vampire.

But things are shifting in their relationship constantly, and they are both still navigating their relationship. Now that Hyax has a political marriage, and Gwil’s status is on an upward trajectory. Despite the years they’ve known each other, they are reminded of the importance of communication and that there is still plenty to learn about each other and their people.

How much they love one another never falters, though.

While navigating their lives and roles, they are still solving cases, and the current one proves to be a doozy.

Along the way, we continue to meet and get to know the fascinating cast of characters that surround them. It’s a wonderful world that Rebecca has created.

I really loved this engrossing mystery, with all the accompanying romance, vampire politics, and fae etiquette. The world building is so detailed and enthralling, I can actually envision myself living in this complicated world (though I would not do so happily!). The plot is original and unpredictable. Each character and their relationships are lovingly crafted.
There's such a strict pecking order in the vampire world, I actually feel bad for all that Gwil has to put up with. In addition to all of that, he is very long suffering where the fae world is concerned as well, and I admire all that he tolerates for Hyax. It's obvious he loves the fae Prince with all his heart, with all that he must endure! Hyax himself is constantly involved in political scheming. I love that he does so much for Gwil.
This page-turner will keep you up long into the night. I eagerly anticipate future books by this author.

It is a good book and I liked Hyax and Gwil. even more. Their relationship keeps getting stronger. We learn a lot more about the politics of the Fae and Vampire court. And how marriage is seen in both. Gwil is finally moving up on his own merit, not as a hanger-on of Hyax. Hopefully, we can see a marriage soon between the two.
The mystery was secondary but intriguing.

Bleeding for the Prince is the third book in Rebecca Cohen's Fang and Fae series. Not a stand alone, and readers should really check out Dark Earls-Paranormal Crofton first since that's where Simon,
Robin and Chris' stories are. Mostly. Lots of crossover.
Gwil doesn't see Prince's Beloved in the same way the fae and Hyax do. But Hyax doesn't appreciate the insult to vampiric society and Gwil with his marriage to another, either. Court and Council politics lead to misunderstandings and arguments. But their making up is quite sizzling.
Good world building. Great secondaries in Simon and Robin. They offer good advice and support, as does Gwil's sire. Copperpipe really shines, the scene in a high end department store's food court was hysterical.
A quick and fun read. Both Dark Earls and Fang and Fae are getting new books in a few months. Very much looking forward to them.
I received an advanced copy of this book from GRR and this is my review.

Gwil and Hyax return with the third book in the series Fang and Fae. They have been hired to investigate what is happening in Dante’s department store. When they find out what is causing the problems in the store, Gwil and Hyax know they have a big job on their hands. In addition to all this, Gwil is trying to handle his entry into the elite vampire society while Hyax has his own concerns balancing his duties as a prince.

You cannot help but fall in love with these two. When they start bickering, you cannot help but smile. Their new job has some difficulties but, with a little help from friends, they tackle the problem head on. The plot is well done and we learn more about both men, making them so much more loveable. Captivating from beginning to end, Bleeding for the Prince should advance to the front of your pile of books. You’ll be glad.

I love this series, and enjoyed Gwil and Hyax’s latest case which has a few twists. I’m also enjoying the overarching series plot with its politics, and the role of the other characters within this world.

I love how Gwil still struggles with how he’s perceived within vampire and fae society, despite his growing standing. I like how he and Hyax are both learning about each other’s communities, and that they aren’t comfortable within them. The banter and snark between them are wonderful, and always makes for a fun read.

The plot is very clever, especially figuring out what’s causing the issues at the department stores, with the answer being something very unexpected. I loved the resolution too, and the role of everyone who helps out.

I always enjoy catching up with the supporting cast, and Copperpipe especially has a fun time in this story with his payment for help. I love Chris.

I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

I think I like these paranormal re-imaginings of the Crofton series and beyond more than the originals if I'm honest, although I did love those too. I would highly recommend reading prior books in the series before this, as whilst it probably could be read as a standalone, there is an overall story arc regarding Gwil and Hyax's romance. This story focuses on a problem within a newly opened department store and what they find is certainly a surprise and some friends the the Dark Earls series are around to help. On a personal level there are surprises for both Gwil and Hyax and some new friends are made. I like Gwil and Hyax's relationship. It feels real. There are tender moments, steamy moments, but also arguments, misunderstandings and jealousies as well as the minutiae of everyday life. Plus potentially demon possessed hamsters. 4.5*

I adore Hyax and Gwil. I admit Gwil handles Hyax’s marriage much better than I do, even if he isn’t 100% happy about it. It’s all political..yuck. But at least he has his own title and the security of knowing he holds the fae Prince’s heart. I admit that I am enjoying Gwil getting some of the recognition he vastly deserves. I also might have a bit of a soft spot for Robin and Simon. The case this time is interesting enough, but it takes a bit of a backseat to the main narrative here of the relationship between these two and the goings on of the fae and vampire courts. It is still a fascinating read and I hope to see much more of these two, both in this series and the intersecting one of the Dark Earls of Crofton.

This series is such a good one with the personal relationship between Gwil and Hyax evolving and deepening as they continue to work together on new mysteries and adventures. Gwil is so committed to his prince that he will do what it takes to protect him, hence the title. It is so neat that although they are there for one another, there are spats and they are now lovers so there is steam. But mostly they are an effective duo working together on whatever their current task with a little help from their friends. I am looking forward to more of their stories.

This was a great story, with a bit of crossover from the author's other series. The mystery in this book was fun and interesting, and I was hooked by that aspect as well. In terms of this series, Hyax and Gwil continue to be great, and their relationship builds really well in this book - the love, the disagreements, the compromises, and the sweetness. The struggle for their relationship is still very real - the fae are dicks, and Hyax's mother is one of my least favourite. Plus all the other outside influences. Gwil deserves to be fought for though.

It was so great! I love getting to follow their story. Honestly book 2 left me a little upset, since the prince had to take another to be his husband, in a political marriage.

But book 3 was definitely redemption for it. It explained what being the prince’s beloved meant to fae and how being marriage to someone else might impact the vampire.

This book was full of plot twists and so much to keep up. I love the cameos by Chris from the other book. I was intrigued the whole time reading.

Can’t wait until the next book!!!

Gwil and Hyax continue to be awesome. This latest case seems to be a stumper for everyone and I loved seeing the everyone they pulled back in and connected with. I will say that you can read this series without reading the Dark Earls but I would not recommend it. You would miss so much. Gwil and Hyax complicated relationship gains more traction and my heart melted for them on more than one occasion.

I love this duo! Sweet, sexy, snarky, sometimes self-assured, sometimes insecure, but always together and in love. Another case, another mystery, an unexpected twist, and lots of Fae-vampire love. I really enjoyed seeing Gwil come more into his own among vampire society, and is even Prince Hyax's mother warming up to him? We'll see. I hope there are many more stories to come for these two.

It's wonderful how this book deepens Gwil and Hyax's relationship. We get plenty of romance, but also some difficult growing pains as these two adjust to being a couple. The mystery as always is intriguing and never clashes with or overshadows the romance. It's nice seeing both Gwil and Hyax being recognized by the fae and the vampires. I loved the new characters and different paranormal beings. This series continues to be a winner.

This is the third book in the Fang and Fae series, and best enjoyed when read in order. This review may contain some spoilers of previous books, although they are intimated in the book blurb.

Best of the series so far, IMO. I enjoyed the blend of mystery, adventure, and established-couple romance. Having Gwil, the snarky vampire, learn how to fit better into Prince Hyax's world provided a nice alternate conflict to the case, and the various supernatural characters were intriguing, particularly as the world built to finally getting Gwil and Hyax married. (I was given a digital ARC for review.)

This was a great action-packed suspense story with a thrilling mix of fae and vampires added to the pot! Hyax is trying to find his place as a prince when he meets Gwil, and together they’re thrown into a new case that pulls in help from their friends. Gwil, meanwhile, is struggling with problems among the vampire elite.

These two have such fun tension—one minute they’re clashing, and the next, they’ve got hearts in their eyes. You’ll fall in love with their dynamic and with this series!

Bleeding for the Prince is an absolute thrill! Gwil and Hyax’s chemistry sizzles as they navigate paranormal London, uncover deadly mysteries, and deepen their bond. Dark, clever, and utterly captivating—this MM paranormal romance keeps you hooked from start to finish.
I received a free arc copy and this is my honest review
