Sure, I had a mind-blowing one-night stand with the best man at my best friend's wedding. I just didn't think when he flew into town months later, a massive snowstorm would trap us together for days.
I may have jumped at the chance for round two with the devastatingly gorgeous golf caddy, whose skills from that first night are impossible to forget, but we agreed it was just to "get it out of our systems." What we didn't plan on was a nor'easter completely snowing us in so close to the holidays.
Now Rory's stuck in my tiny apartment, fumbling adorably with my coffee maker and turning my quiet life upside down. A few days of forced proximity should be enough to satisfy this craving once and for all. Instead, seeing how naturally he steps up when it matters has me falling harder than the snow outside.
His world is suitcases and constant travel. Mine is cozy routines and community roots. We both swear this is just a fling, but every stolen moment makes it harder to pretend I don't want him to stay.
If you ❤️️: 🔥 Fling to forever ❄️ Snowed in ✔ He falls first 🏠 Small town Christmas magic 🎄 Holiday romance 🚨 Forced proximity and especially... 🌶️ Steamy winter nights this book is for you.
--- Return to Starlight Bay, the first Man of the Month Club small town. Revisit old friends and fall in love with all new book boyfriends in this romantic seaside town full of Happily Ever Afters.
Ellen Brooks pens sexy & satisfying stories. When she’s not dreaming up her next hero or plotting a happily ever after, you’ll find her absorbed in a novel, relaxing into śavāsana, or downing an iced coffee.
Tabitha’s doing just fine. She’s got her bookstore, her routines, and enough responsibilities to keep her heart locked down tight. But when Rory, the best man from her best friend’s wedding and the reason she still can't forget that one night, shows up just as a nor’easter slams into Starlight Bay, she agrees to a repeat. Just to clear the air. Just to move on. Except the storm’s not the only thing that lingers.
Snowed in together, what should’ve been temporary turns into something slower, harder to shake, and a whole lot deeper. Rory’s still charming, still restless, still not meant for small town anything. But as he fumbles with her coffee maker, reads to her livestream kids in a Santa suit, and makes space in her quiet world, Tabitha starts seeing the version of him that stays. And it’s not what she thought it would be.
They both promise not to make it serious. They both try to keep the lines from blurring. But feelings don’t follow rules. When the storm clears, so does the distance between them. What started with chemistry turns into something neither of them expected, and neither of them is ready to walk away from.
Tabitha and Rory start off guarded, convinced it’s safer to stay detached. But over a few snowed-in days, she learns how to let someone in, and he starts wanting a life that doesn’t fit inside a suitcase. What they build isn’t easy or perfect. But it’s real, and it’s theirs.
A steamy, snowed in, small town, second chance, forced proximity holiday romance exploring emotional vulnerability, found family, trust, identity, community, and the quiet strength of choosing love. It’s about two people who thought they were fine on their own learning to let someone in, to stay when it counts, and to build a life that’s steady, honest, and worth showing up for.
The Elevator Pitch: A snowed-in second chance turns into something deeper when a guarded bookstore owner and a charming golf caddy are forced to confront what they really want. With emotional tension, quiet intimacy, and a holiday backdrop, their connection grows from physical spark to something worth staying for. It's a cozy, steamy small town romance about choosing love, showing up, and finding home where you least expect it.
Exploring their Second Chance - Rory and Tabitha’s night together was meant to be a one night stand, but he couldn’t get her out of his mind, so the moment he got the chance for spend another night with her, he grabbed it with both hand. However, Mother Nature had other plans in store for Rory, as he ended snowed in with Tabitha for a few days. Spending time together was initially awkward, but once Rory and Tabitha relaxed and accepted the situation, they began enjoying themselves.
Unfortunately, Rory and Tabitha’s failure to communicate their feelings or plans for the future nearly cost them a chance at a future together, but they managed to rectify the situation in time, which allowed them to get the happy lives they wanted. This story was heartfelt with engaging characters, a bit of drama and an interesting storyline, that kept me reading until the early hours of the morning.

Ellen Brooks is a new author to me and I am surprised I have not come across this author before.
This is Rory and Tabitha’s second chance at love story and one that ticked numerous boxes for me.
When golfer Rory returns to the Bay he seeks out bookstore owner Tabitha.
Complications arise when they realise that the attraction still sizzles between them. The banter was witty and there was certainly plenty of heat between our couple as they reconnected.
Will they be able to resist or will their reconnection change their lives forever?
Tabitha and Leah have been best friends for years and worked together at Tabitha's Aunt Matilda's bookstore. Tabitha is doing her best to keep the bookstore open just as her Aunt Mae always did after Mae had suffered a stroke. Leah feels somewhat sorry for not working there this Christmas season since she's now married.
Tabitha may have slept with Rory, the best man at Leah's wedding. But that doesn't mean she wants her to know all about it. She doesn't actually have much in common with him. She's grounded at home tending to Mae and her store, while he's the global caddy and best friend of Avery's husband, Hays.
She never wants to leave Starlight Bay, and he can't imagine being stuck in any one place anywhere.
Both of them have always been confirmed one-and-done players. But now after a second time together, they are reconsidering things. But neither wants to be in a position of vulnerability in front of the other. Leah and Hays better do something quick before their two friends blow the best thing they might have ever had together. Luckily for Tabitha and Rory, their friends Leah and Hays are geniuses at planning...

Tee the Season is fine and dandy when you’re into your caddy and he’s quite handsy but what about when they’re throwing a paddy in the snow ? Back in the Bay ,Golfer Rory seeks Tabitha out at the bookstore and wants to get to know her more , they’re friends, they’ve agreed . But what if they have a need to change that stance ? Maybe an impromptu dalliance …No place to go but in close proximity and those feelings he can’t hide …despite the extremities . The one night stand was heaven in a golf cart but it wasn’t with heart ,just heat ,never to repeat except now they’re stuck because the snow is falling and it’s not slowing down . Shucks! So Rory and Tabitha they have to anchor down and not hanker for each other ,only she’s not got the memo as it does go .Because who’d know he’s domesticated you know and when there’s no place to go let it snow ,let it snow. He never wants to let her go. He sought you out so he’s smitten ,I have no doubt . You know how it is and they soon get down to business . But what about when the thaw comes and the sound of distant thrums from the world outside. When their business they can’t hide away . Does Rory up and move away? Or does he stay ? You’ll have to read to discover whether these second chance lovers make it through the snow . Just so you know . It’s a splendid read . Ellen Brooks I read your book with greed . Every page turn was a yearn for their happy ever after . Divine timing and a great storyline .
Rory doesn't do roots, settling down or second times but Tabitha makes him want all of that. She has deep roots, is a big part of the community and desperately craves being enough for someone..but she is terrified of hoping, of falling. Rory and Tabitha are both awkward and adorable, they both constantly worry about what they feel, what the other feels, what they should want, what they really want...they send themselves crazy second guessing everything. It's very sweet watching them work through their fears, their expectations and seeing them finally admit their hopes to themselves. There is also plenty of sexy play and snowed in "activities", can Santa bring them both everything they want for Christmas? He is VERY generous with his gift this year, especially for good girls! I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Tee the Season: A Man of the Month Club Christmas Novella by Ellen Brooks is a cozy holiday romance that delivers warmth, charm, and just enough spice for a snowy night read. Rory and Tabitha (great names!) enjoy a sizzling one-night stand that turns into an unexpected snowbound moment when a nor’easter traps them together. Rory — the perennially traveling golf caddy — and Tabitha — the small-town bookstore owner with roots she won’t leave — navigate forced proximity, sizzling chemistry, and the dawning realisation of what “just a fling” could become.
What I enjoyed: the setting is delightfully festive and intimate, the characters feel playful and the chemistry is strong. Brooks does a fun job with the small-town vs big-world tension and the icy storm is a clever device to bring them together. The banter, the single-location “snowed-in” feel, and the clean holiday romance atmosphere all hit the right notes.
What held it back slightly: as a novella it naturally moves quickly — which means some emotional beats and character development get less space than I’d like. The “let’s just have one night and nothing more” trope is used well, but the leap to something deeper felt a little rushed. Also, while the steamy moments are fun, the stakes on the conflict (his travel vs her staying, her bookstore vs his world) could have been more layered.
Overall: If you’re looking for a light, feel-good holiday read with heat, small-town charm and a snowy forced-close-quarters scenario, Tee the Season is a solid pick. I’m giving it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Tabitha owns the bookstore in Starlight Bay. Her Aunt Mae gave it to Tabitha after she had a stroke. Tabitha grew up in the bookstore and loves running it and helping out her Aunt Mae. Her best friend, Leah, got married a couple of months ago to Hays who is a professional golfer. His best friend, Rory, was the best man and he is also Hays’ professional caddy. Tabitha and Rory hit it off and ended up sleeping together the night of the wedding. They both agreed that it was a one-night thing. The problem is both of them keep thinking about the other person.
Rory is in town to discuss the upcoming schedule with Hays in person. Leah invites Tabitha over for dinner. A major snowstorm has started. After dinner, instead of driving Rory to his hotel, Tabitha brings him to her apartment over the bookstore because it is closer. They both want another night of passion. They end up stuck together during the storm for three days.
I was hoping that being stuck together would prove that they not only want each other physically but that they really like spending time together. I was rooting for this couple.

Starlight Bay is a place I would definitely visit if I could. Luckily every time one of these books comes out I feel like I get to visit old friends and meet new ones. In Tabitha and Rory's story I feel like we get to do both. As best friends to another couple in Starlight Bay they aren't strangers but we aren't friends yet either and neither is willing to admit they'd like to see if maybe there's more. Rory is a man in constant motion, never staying anywhere long enough to truly call it home. Tabitha has a home but she's lost loved ones and is scared to share her home and lose again. Sometimes though life doesn't give you a choice and Mother Nature decided Tabitha should share her space and Rory wouldn't be able to go anywhere till he faces his fears. Of course all of this should happen the week of Christmas so things can look and sound festive while happening too. This forced proximity, holiday romance is sure to have you smiling and warm your heart. I have voluntarily left this review.
We are back in Starlight Bay again, this time around it's Tabitha and Rory's story.
Both of them met at Hays and Leahs Wedding when they were Best Man and Maid of Honour for the couple.
They had an off the charts night together which was never to be repeated as that is the way both of them normally operate.
Rory ends up in Starlight Bay just before Christmas for a meeting with Hays with regards to their Golf Schedule. Leah starts match making again by inviting both of them to Dinner.
It starts Snowing heavily and between the Jigs and the Reels, Rory ends up having a Sleepover with Tabitha and they end up snowed in.
Both of them don't know what to make of the feelings they both have for each other as it's New to them both but because the Chemistry is so good between them they have to fight it all the way.
This Bookstore Owner sure meets her match with the Caddy and it progresses from there.........
I won't say anymore as I don't want to spoil it but it is definitely a sweet Christmas read that you are going to love x
Rory and Tabitha weren’t supposed to be anything serious — just one unforgettable night and then back to their separate lives. But sometimes life (and a bit of bad weather) has other plans. When a snowstorm traps them together, all those buried feelings come rushing back, and it’s impossible for either of them to ignore the connection still simmering between them. I really enjoyed how their relationship unfolded once they stopped pretending they didn’t care. There were sweet, funny, and slightly awkward moments that made them feel real, and the chemistry was undeniable. Sure, they both stumbled over communication and had their share of misunderstandings, but watching them figure it out made the story even more satisfying. This novella was short, cozy, and a little bit steamy — perfect for curling up with on a cold night. I ended up reading it straight through because I just had to see how things turned out for them.
This is a holiday novella in the ongoing "Man of the Month" series that takes place in Starlight Bay. Rory and Tabitha (great names, by the way!) first met at their friends' wedding and shared a wonderful, satisfying night after it. They'd agreed it would be just the one night, but were unable to forget each other, so when their paths cross some months later, a repeat encounter seems like a fine idea. When they are trapped together for several days by a snow storm, their attraction grows, despite plenty of misgivings as to the wisdom of even considering a relationship. Ms. Brooks provides plenty of well-written spicy moments, making their attraction even more believable. This is an engaging holiday read - just right for reading with a hot beverage on a chilly evening.
I was given an ARC and volunteered to write a review.
Ellen Brooks delivers another cozy-meets-steamy delight in Tee the Season. Tabitha and Rory’s story is everything I want in a holiday romance—fun banter, undeniable chemistry, and that delicious “stuck together in a snowstorm” tension that keeps you smiling (and maybe blushing a little).
Rory is the kind of charming, quietly thoughtful hero who sneaks up on you, and Tabitha’s independence and heart make her impossible not to root for. Their connection feels real and tender, even when the sparks fly.
This story has all the festive warmth of a Hallmark movie… if Hallmark turned up the heat! Perfect for readers who love small-town charm, found comfort, and a happily ever after that feels earned and extra cozy.

Loved getting to know these two characters better after meeting them in Hays and Leah's story (Fore Better or Worse). Rory was a discipline pro cady with a jet setter lifestyle, while Tabitha was all about roots, family and warmth. Sure they had chemistry, but that's not enough... right? This story kept me actively engaged and attentive while reading. Loved both characters, especially Rory with his niece Sophie. All the characters deserved gold stars for the parts they played. Even knowing that there would be a HEA (because.. of course there is) you're wondering just how and who will do what. I'll admit, there was a bit of scapegoating at the end (I'll let you figure it out), but aside from that... perfection!.
I was gifted a copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
From the moment I opened the book, this story held me spellbound, quickly establishing itself as an exceptionally enjoyable and immersive reading experience. I was consistently impressed by the author's masterful command of language, which transported me to another world with remarkable clarity and evocative descriptions. Yet, what resonated most deeply was the outstanding character development; every character felt authentically human, possessing depth and complexity that made them incredibly relatable. Furthermore, the interactions between these characters were nothing short of captivating, their dynamic interplay serving as the very heartbeat of the narrative, transforming this read into a truly unforgettable journey.
I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Our FMC and MMC met at their friends wedding, and well one thing led to another - when the chemistry is right, you know! But our MMC is the caddy to his best friend, a professional golfer, always traveling and never repeats with anyone. Our FMC runs a bookstore in a small town and has no desire to leave. When he comes to the small town to have a meeting with his friend, who married her best friend, the 4 end up having dinner. The connection is still there - so she offers to drive him to his hotel, but they go to her place because it's closer. Round 2 could be fine - except a nor'estern comes in and snows them in together. Will this be just a storm fling, or will he want to set some roots down?
I really enjoyed this one! Tabitha is a local bookstore owner and the kind of woman who swears she’ll never leave her hometown—she’s perfectly content with her life as it is. Her best friend gets married, and after the wedding Tabitha ends up spending the night with the best man. Fortunately for her, their best friends married each other, which means Tabitha and Rory keep crossing paths.
The four of them have dinner, and it’s pretty clear Rory and Tabitha are being set up. Rory is a professional caddy who’s never planned on anything more than a one-night fling with anyone… until now. He breaks his own rule to spend another night with her, but a pre-Christmas storm rolls in and traps them together. Lines blur, walls come down, and I just love a story about a man who finally meets the one person who makes him rethink everything.
The side characters were great too—Tabitha’s older aunt was fantastic. I loved the ending, and even though it was a shorter book, there was still just enough drama. I’d love to see what’s next for this couple!
Rory is a professional golf caddy and a world traveler. He doesn’t let the ground get too warm under feet before he’s gone again. His motto when it comes to women is one and done, no repeats. Tabitha couldn’t be more his opposite. She has lived in Starlight Bay all of her life. She has roots there- her family, her bookstore, her friends. The only thing she doesn’t have is a boyfriend. When her best friend gets married to a golf pro, Rory and Tabitha have a one night with the understanding it’s one night only. He’s a traveler and she’s permanently in Starlight Bay. When he comes back to town to meet with Hays to strategize work plans, can they throw their one and done to the side? When a snow storm forces them together for days, is it possible for them to be able to split ways again?
What happens when the one night stand at your friend's wedding is the one you can't forget? Tabitha runs the town's bookstore and takes care of Aunt Mae. She doesn't date because no one compares to Rory, her bff's husband's friend and caddy. Rory is known to love them and leave them. He isn't in the mind space to settle down like Hays. But there is one person he wants to see again - Tabitha. When these two get stuck in Tabitha's small apartment during a Nor'easter they get their sexy on but also learn about the others. Maybe things aren't what they seem. While this has Christmas in it I wouldn't necessarily call it a Christmas novella, but it is a quick steamy, second chance at being with the one read.
We are back in Starlight Bay. Rory was spending time there so that he could set up for the next golf season. Hays Granger was in Starlight Bay with his wife, Leah. Rory and Leah's best friend, Tabitha, had a one-night stand at their wedding. Neither one of them had forgotten that night. No one had ever made them feel the way they made each other feel. Unfortunately, both are against relationships. One-night stands only. No doubling back. One more time couldn't hurt.
Rory and Tabitha get stuck at Tabitha's house after that one more time. Tabitha had obligations that kept her in Starlight Bay. She could not leave to follow Rory around the world like Leah did with Hays. Her bookstore was her pride and joy. The snowstorm was threatening to force them to cancel the Christmas Eve story reading to raise money for book donations. Unbeknownst to Tabitha, Rory had been told about a job at the Starlight Bay Country Club. There was a possibility that Rory could stay in Starlight Bay. The time they spent together during the storm changed things for both of them. Will those changes be enough to make Rory stay? I really enjoyed this couple and what they built together during the snowstorm.
Tee The Season is part of the Return to Starlight Bay, Man of the Month Series.
This was a really cute addition to the series. We had previously met these characters in Fore Better Or Worse (definitely read that one). They had a one night stand and now see each other again, but both haven't fully move on from that night. They both constantly think of the other, but Tabitha's life in in Starlight Bay, and Rory's life is going on golfing tours. They both can't fully see a future together, until an opportunity falls into Rory's lap. Now they might have a chance together, if only he can get out of his head and take a proper chance at being together. Great read!
After a one night stand from their best friends wedding, Rory and Tabitha have both struggled to move past their feeling from that night. They both want one more night - just to get it out their system. Rory lives out of his suitcase, so he’s not looking for long term, and Tabitha runs the local bookshop, not looking to ever leave Starlight. After a being stuck together in a snowstorm, neither want things to end but both too scared to put their hearts on the line. Sizzling chemistry, plenty of spice in this sweet holiday novella.

Tabitha and Rory met at their best friend's wedding and had a one night stand.
Rory, who is a golf caddie for his best friend, is in Starlight Bay for a planning session. But when a nor'easter hits he is stuck in town for a few days right around the Christmas holidays.
Tabitha, who owns a bookstore is surprised to see Rory again. They had agreed on one night but he was back in town and there's a storm on the way and she offered to let him stay at her place.
Their connection is still there but their communication isn't the greatest. Is this just round 2 or is there more?
Cute story of Starlight Bay bookstore owner Tabitha and professional caddy Rory who is best friend for golf tournament champion. Tabitha and Rory had blistering hot one-night stand after their friend's wedding and never forgot each other...and now Rory and Hays are getting together before the holidays to plan and strategize next year's golf tournaments, and he has another chance to get Tabitha out of his head...but when big snow storm comes in early, leaving them trapped at her apartment, will they discover true love or ... you will need to read the story to see what happens...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
Oh my Christmas heart! Talk about adorable and giving off all the great holiday vibes.
Anyone else absolutely love Rory? I mean, I loved Hays too but Rory...there was just something about him that made me grin. That made me root for him. That made me say he'd be amazing if he stopped and enjoyed for a moment. And boy was I glad when he did. Because Tabitha was his better half and the way they fit.. totally swoon worthy. She needed him in ways she couldn't figure out and when she did, it was far too cute.
But can we talk about, for just a moment, how Santa is now destroyed in my eyes thanks to a reading chair? You'll see when you read it too!
‘All I’m saying is...don’t write the ending before you’ve read the whole story.’
After an unforgettable one night stand months before Tabitha and Rory are face to face again and it’s apparent that no matter what they hadn’t said back then, there is definitely some unresolved heat happening. Finding themselves snowed in they both come to the realization that no matter how content they were with their lives before each other, they had found something neither of them knew they needed. Their HEA journey is completely spice with a sprinkle of sweetness thrown on top for good measure.
Cute, sweet, and hits you right in the feels. Add a dash of spice and you’ve got a great little romance to keep you warm in all sorts of ways!
The Man of the Month series does not disappoint and this is yet another solid entry. Tabitha, our FMC, and Rory, the MMC, are another pair with great chemistry. They were so fun to watch in this one.
If you like a romance that’s easy to read, with light spice, great tension between characters, yearning, and a happy ever after, this is a great choice!
Rory and Tabitha spend one steamy night together at their best friend's wedding, thinking it would be just one night. One problem, neither has been able to forget the other, and now Rory is back in town, and sparks are flying. A snowstorm hits, and they get snowed in together, and before they know it, they have fallen in love. Tee the Season is a sweet and steamy addition to the multi-author Return to Starlight: Man of the Month series, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Tabitha and Rory met at a wedding and sparks flew instantly
One year later they attend a dinner and those sparks explode again. A bad snow storm traps Rory at Tabitha's apartment above the local bookstore. Three days later they nearly part again but a good honest conversation convinced Rory to risk his heart. I laughed, I cried and if I see a Santa's story time chair well who knows what naughty thoughts will start! Great heart and I'd like a visit with this foresome down the road.
Tee The Season is Rory and Tabitha’s second chance love story. It’s the first book I have read by this author but it won’t be the last. Rory has returned home and looking for a friend he seeks out bookshop owner Tabitha. Neither expected the feelings and chemistry they once shared to still be there. So will there be some holiday magic or will they once again walk away from love…. This book had me smiling and swooning and I giggled at the witty banter as I cheered this couple on. I love this time of year and this was an entertaining and engaging story.
