Combining the sugar rush of candy making with a fascinating look at Amish life, a quirky whodunit, and a sweet romance between chocolatier Bailey King and Sheriff Aiden Brody, Amanda Flower’s USA Today bestselling Amish Candy Shop Mysteries continue, as summer wedding season comes to the village of Harvest, Ohio…
Horror d'oeuvres
Summer is finally upon the village of Harvest, Ohio, nestled in picturesque Amish Country, and folks are abuzz over their very own Bailey King’s upcoming June wedding. The Amish Candy shop owner and star of TV’s Bailey’s Amish Sweets is marrying Holmes County Sheriff Aiden Brody. To sweeten the occasion will be a scrumptious giant chocolate truffle wedding cake, made especially for the happy couple by Bailey’s New York City mentor, Jean Pierre. Other than the risk of the ring bearer, Jethro the pig, taking a bite out of the confection, what could go wrong?
As it turns out, a food-related disaster does befall the day. But with Bailey in the mix, it’s nothing so pedestrian as a peckish pig. At the reception, a wedding guest dies after sampling the hors d'oeuvres. Café owner and new caterer Darcy Woodin, who made all the food except the desserts, is pegged by police as the number one suspect. Even more incriminating, the victim is one of Darcy's ex-boyfriends . . .
Still, Bailey is friends with Darcy, and she’s certain the young woman is innocent. Even before the first dance with her new husband, Bailey’s on the case. Can she help solve it in time for her honeymoon—or will a killer try to end her happily ever after before it’s even begun . . .?

I have read every book in Amanda Flower’s Amish Candy Shop Mysteries and Truffle Trouble is the tenth book of this series. There’s a lot of things happening in this book that readers don’t want to miss out on. It’s a busy time of the year and Margot Rawlings, Harvest Community Planner has planned to have a wine tasting event in the Village Square. Of course she wants Bailey to provide chocolates to pare with the different wines. But Bailey is busy with something else that is far more important to her than a wine tasting event. Then there’s the Amish who of course want nothing to do with a wine event in their village square. As if that isn’t enough there’s a murder in the town square during this busy season. Bailey winds up investigating the murder because she thinks Sheriff Aiden has arrested the wrong suspect. I always love to read a good Cozy Mystery book and Amanda Flower never disappoints. I thought this murder was perplexing. I did guess who the killer was but that doesn’t happen very often. It was a page turner and readers were kept guessing till the last chapter. This is a book you’re not going to want to put down once you start reading it. I highly recommend Truffle Trouble to readers of Cozy Mystery and Suspense. It’s scheduled for release in 3/31/26 I read An Advanced Readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own. #TruffleTrouble #NetGalley
It's finally here, Bailey and Aiden are getting married and there's nothing that will stand in the way, until a dead body is discovered, that is. Bailey knows her friend Darcy didn't kill her ex boyfriend, but she's running out of time to get the investigation wrapped up. It doesn't help that Margot keeps asking for Bailey's help with the wine festival, or that she somehow finds herself pig sitting Jethro. I loved reading this book, there so many different things happening, I had to read until I finished. When Bailey's grandmother is found on the floor of the candy shop, it shakes her up and we saw how much she loves her.
"Truffle Trouble (An Amish Candy Shop Mystery #10)" by Amanda Flower has Bailey and Aiden finally getting married. They almost have a perfect wedding but don't get to sneak off to their honeymoon. Unfortunately, just as they're about to do their send off a man is found dead in the candy factory's kitchen. Aiden can't leave the investigation to his men and Bailey feels she has to stick around since it's her factory.
Good thing they stick around. Apparently no one else can survive doing anything in Harvest without one of them. The town event coordinator has a steamrolls Bailey into helping with a wine themed event. An event a good amount of the town is against. Plus Bailey is struggling with investigating (even though she doesn't need to) and what's going on with her grandma. She seriously is way too nice and can't ever seem to be able to say no to anyone but her husband. It's getting a bit too predictable.
Bailey does her thing. Seriously what does her husband even really do to investigate other than to support her investigation. I was pretty set on a specific culprit but really they were involved in a different way. Over all it seemed a bit quicker of a read and was a decent story well in modern cozy mystery territory.
When Bailey King and her fiance Sheriff Aiden Brody planned the finer details of their wedding, they forgot to include the dead body in the kitchen! Now, with the honeymoon cancelled, a family member in the hospital, town organiser, Margo's summer soiree about to start, and Jethro the pig sure he needs to be the center of everything, it's probably just as well Bailey stayed home! As she tries to help her new husband, Bailey is dismayed to discover all the clues point to someone she's almost sure didn't do it. Can she get things sorted out so she and Aiden can celebrate their honeymoon before their first wedding anniversary, or is that a step too far?
I was able to read an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, Kensington Publishing, Kensington Cosies, but the opinions expressed are my own. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and Jethro once again stole the show, with Margo coming in a close second. The summer soiree added an interesting second storyline with a moral dilemma that definitely made me think. The mystery was good, and I may have missed some clues, but I didn't guess whodunit at all . I am looking forward to reading about what happens next in the village of Harvest.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review "Truffle Trouble", the tenth book in Amanda Flower's 'Amish Candy Shop" mystery series. It's Bailey and Aiden's wedding day, and what could possibly go wrong in the Amish town of Harvest? As it turns out, quite a bit. The wedding goes off without a hitch, but the reception - not so much. As one guest comments, "It was a lovely wedding day - except for the murder". It appears that one of the guests - a local vineyard owner with a somewhat shady past in the village - has died after consuming one of the canapes lovingly prepared by Bailey's friend Darcy who had a previous relationship with the deceased and was seen arguing with him not long before the wedding service. And of course, there's an event about to happen in Harvest, organized by the inimitable Margot Rawlings; Bailey had thought that she would not get wrangled into it, but - thanks to the murder investigations that has temporarily derailed their honeymoon - it seems that this is not to be. So not only does Bailey have an investigation to launch, she has to wrangle bickering winery owners and deal with a family emergency all to close to home. Can she do it? Will she do it? You'll just have to read and find out. As always, Jethro the polka dot pig steals the show more than once. A great addition to the series, and recommended.
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book. I am a fan of this series and look forward to each installment. This book continues to develop the story with characters we have come to know as well as introducing some new ones. I enjoyed the interaction between the Amish and English character & as a NE Ohio native, I appreciate the descriptions of Amish Country. I will keep reading this series and hope for the next book soon as the ending lends itself to an interesting premise for the story.
How great to see Bailey and Aiden finally get married, but of course the story does not stop there because now there is a dead body to contend with before the honeymoon begins. Of course the wedding can’t be complete without Jethro the pig making his appearance. Who is behind the murder and when will Bailey and Aiden get to start their honeymoon? I always enjoy Amanda Flowers book because she write light hearted, fun books. I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and the author. All words are my own.
Everyone in the village of Harvest, Ohio, seems to be excited for the upcoming wedding of chocolatier Bailey King and Sheriff Aiden Brody. What could possibly go wrong with a wedding that includes a seven-tier wedding cake and Jethro the pig as ring bearer? I'm sure long time readers can make a close guess and, most likely add, hey, what about a murder? If you're one of those, good guess. Yes, Jethro gets the first bite out of the cake but that ranks as relatively well-behaved for this not-at-all-spoiled pig, but before Bailey and Aiden can make their exit a guest drops dead. Needless to say, not only does the new groom suddenly have to don his role as sheriff but Bailey is quickly on the case as a good friend is initially the most obvious suspect. Add on Margot Rawling guilt tripping Bailey into being front-and-center for the upcoming summer wine tasting event since the honeymoon was obviously delayed, her family's needs, and, of course, pig sitting Jethro, and Bailey barely has time to get used to her new title of wife.
This is the 10th book in this series that I've so come to enjoy. The regulars are all well-fleshed out, though new readers may wonder about that brick in Lois' bag, and generally likable. True, I'm not too fond of the overbearing Margot or Ruth Yoder but even they have their good points, albeit I do wish Bailey would learn to stand up for herself a bit more where they're concerned. Even if you're unfamiliar with the Amish culture, this book does an excellent job explaining not just the beliefs but the thoughts behind them. True, Bailey may have wished not to have been stuck behind a couple slow moving horse and buggies at one point but she respects their role in the Amish way of life. She struggles to smooth the way for Margot's wine tasting event even when it isn't well received by the community but makes it work, for instance.
Speaking of the wine tasting event, the four wine representative involved have a lot of drama behind their interaction. That does nothing to make the already crunched for time Bailey's job easier as she finds herself investigating rather than honeymooning. I don't want to share any more of the plot except to say everything somehow seems to be intertwined. As usual, it's fun to try to sift through the clues as Bailey finds them while laughing at the antics of Jethro. Unfortunately, Bailey isn't quite as amused by them as usual due to her worries about her grandmother's health and her friend being a suspect. The plot moves along quickly and works well as a standalone although this is such a fun series I recommend you check it out in full as some point as it'll give you some insight into inter-relationships and how the past has shaped the regulars that, while explained to satisfaction, doesn't go into the depth long time readers will have. Thanks #KensingtonPress for this early peek at characters I feel like I've come to know as friends while enjoying the quirkiness and warmth of the village of Harvest. Have some chocolate hand as you read, everyone, and be sure to check out the recipes at the end. I bet Jethro isn't the only one with a weakness for truffles. Grin.
Bailey King moved to Harvest, Ohio to help her grandmother in her Amish sweets shop following her grandfather's death. Having been a chocolatier in New York City, she's since then built the shop up, managed to gain a television show, and opened a factory to product more hand-made candies to sell around the world.
She's also fallen in love with Aiden Brody, the new sheriff of Holmes County. They've finally come to their wedding day, and she's been convinced (once again) by Margo that adding a wine tasting would be good for the town. As long as it's separate from the celebration, due to her respect for the Amish, Bailey is fine with it
Unfortunately, there's some drama when Bailey discovers that one of the vineyard owners is an ex-boyfriend of the Darcy Woodin, who is catering the big event. Things go from bad to worse when he is found dead in Bailey's kitchen, apparently poisoned by a tart Darcy made. Now the woman is about to be arrested for murder.
Newly married and wanting to start her life with Aiden, Bailey knows that she needs to do a little sleuthing if she is ever going to get a honeymoon and some peace and quiet. But when she starts digging, there are secrets from the past that come to the surface, and she's not going anywhere until she sorts them out...
This is the tenth book in the series and I have read them all. The characters seem to come to life for me every time I visit Harvest. I've grown fond of Bailey, her grandmother, and many of the others. This book is no different. While pulled into the story, you want to see Bailey finally hitched and happy. She gets hitched, but the happy part will have to come later.
Bailey wants to know who wanted the young man dead. Did Darcy really have reason to kill him? Bailey doesn't think so, even if the evidence is pointing in that direction. When things start heating up, Bailey begins to see through the lies. However, her grandmother has a health issue that Bailey can't and won't ignore. Watching her put the pieces together while taking care of her ailing grandmother as best she can -- the reasons will become clear in the book -- Bailey is at her wits' end and hoping to figure it all out sooner rather than later. Even Jethro's antics can't distract her this time, and that's saying something.
When the ending comes, it's all rather sad, but there is no excuse for murder no matter the reason. I loved the book, the descriptions of everything around, and the heartfelt warmness of Bailey and her family. I can't wait to visit them again. Highly recommended.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher and NettGalley but this in no way influenced my review.
As that old song goes, At last...Baily King and Aiden Brody are getting married. What could possibly go wrong? Well, Jethro the pot-bellied pig could manage a bite out of the 7-tiered wedding cake Jean Pierre made, a dead body could be found during the reception, Maami might have some health issues, the honeymoon could be delayed, so nothing unusual for Harvest, Ohio. Oh yeah, Margot has planned another event, a Summer Soiree with wine tasting, so of course Ruth Yoder is up in arms and now that Baily will not be leaving town for her honeymoon, of course Margot adds to her things to do. Lots going on in this one as Baily juggles all the events and need to clear her friend Darcy's name. I always love a return to Harvest, but have to say this time around I really wanted to wring Margot's neck and send Juliette somewhere with only Jethro, no one to fob him off on all the time. I definitely identified the killer early on, but was surprised by the perpetrator of another incident. Lots of misdirection, but I stayed the course with my suspect this time. It's a fun read and has a tasty sounding truffle recipe at the end! Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington for the chance to read an early copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.
Bailey and Aiden are finally getting married! The whole village has come together to celebrate. But when one of the wedding attendee is found dead, the caterer becomes the prime suspect. Why Bailey doesn’t believe Darcy killed the man, the evidence is stacking up against her. Can Bailey and Aiden uncover a killer. or will the memory of their wedding day always include having one of their friends arrested for murder?
What’s not to love about the series? From the chocolate, to Jethro, the pig, to each and every cozy mystery that the author pens, it is an awesome series! I read this series as well as all of her other series as well. Her writing is authentic and engaging and captures you from the first page. Come for the cozy mystery but make sure you check out the recipes at the end of the book as well. You won’t be disappointed with either the mystery or the recipes.
It is what we have all been waiting for, Bailey and Aiden's wedding! In Harvest, nothing seems to go as planned, but thankfully the nuptials were beautiful; too bad someone had to turn up dead before Aiden and Bailey could leave for their honeymoon. For Bailey, this is something she has had to deal with before, but this time she it is a friend who is suspected and there is a cloud hanging over the town. Aiden is working hard to solve the crime, but is hampered by the restrictions of being the sheriff. Baily does not have any restrictions, and takes it upon herself to work to protect her friend. With a scary twist that had my heart in my throat for a bit, this story was an excellent mystery, with rich lovable characters and a quaint setting. I cannot wait for the next one in the series! Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington for the advanced copy.
I've read most of the books in this series, and they are always a treat, even when they deal with a murder. This time it's Bailey and Aiden's wedding, if you have followed these two, it is time for the wedding! Things go awry when someone dies at their reception, and our dear friend Darcy is a suspect. We are back with our darling pig, Jethro, and he does help in solving the murder. I also suspect that he is a wedding cake lover. This read does feature many of the recurring cast of characters, which means Margo is again getting Bailey to do her bidding! I enjoyed my visit back to Harvest Ohio, and the people that I have come to care about, and am looking forward to the next book in this series!
This is probably my favorite Amanda Flower series. In this book it is finally time for Baily and Aidens wedding. Of course, it wouldn't be there wedding if there was a glitch. A murder occurs at their reception, and it delays their honeymoon. Baily helps investigate the death.
I was so excited for this book. I have loved watching these characters grow throughout the series. I also love how Baily always ends up babysitting Jethro for Juliet. This book was filled with twists and great subplots that really enjoyed. I am anxiously waiting for the next book. I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Bailey and Aiden are finally getting married! What could go wrong? The ceremony goes well. But, a guest is found deceased in the little restaurant. The honeymoon is postponed. Bailey tries her best not to get involved but she can't resist asking those questions that probe to the heart of the matter. It's good to be in this little Amish town with all its resident. This time, Darcy, finds her life upended when she is arrested for the murder of a local vineyard owner. Can Bailey prove her innocence? Thanks to NetGalley for the arc.
This series with Bailey and Aiden and of course Jethro the pig is well written and fun to read. Bailey and Aiden are finally getting married! It’s a beautiful day for a wedding, and of course a murder! A much disliked man is found dead and there are lots of suspects. It’s fun to follow along as Bailey tries to find who may be responsible. There are many twists in the story that kept me reading and guessing. I’m hoping the author keeps writing this series because I’ve come to like so many of the characters. I received a copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A wedding and a summer soirée - life in Harvest is never short on excitement, especially with the mischievous little pig Jethro stirring up fun. However, things took a dark turn with the shocking murder of a less than upstanding citizen.
This series offers a heartwarming glimpse into a community of both English and Amish, where life isn’t always perfect, but friendship and helping hands are never in short supply.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
One of my absolute favorite Amish mystery series to this date! I love the stories of Bailey and Andy and this one is a great addition to the series! Amanda Flowers knows her anabaptist culture (I'm a Mennonite so I can vouch for this) and I love her prose and charming and lovable characters! I can't wait to see what's next to come!
I would absolutely love to thank Amanda, the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC book in exchange for an honest review!
It’s the tenth book in the series and Bailey King and Sheriff Aiden Brody are finally getting married. Of course their wedding plans didn’t include a body in the kitchen. The caterer is the prime suspect and Bailey has to solve the mystery to clear her friend.
This is another fun entry in the series. There’s the usual cast of characters and of course Jethro, the spotted pig, causes plenty of mayhem.
A delightful addition to a charming series. The pig does add to the fun. Interesting activities keep everyone busy. A murder does complicate things. Wine and chocolate, two of my favorite things, keep the mystery going. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
What a fun, quick read. I know people who love this author, but this was my first Candy Shop book. I did read her historical fiction (Emily Dickinson mystery book for my book club and enjoyed it). This book was light hearted and I loved the pig.
Truffle Trouble is the tenth book in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series by Amanda Flower. Bailey and Aiden are forced to postpone their honeymoon when Lois’s granddaughter, Darcy, is accused of murdering her former boyfriend during the wedding reception.
Bailey gains a new crime solving partner whose unique skills prove helpful to the investigation, while Lois finds herself with a new love interest who is just as smitten with her as she is with him. As always, Jethro steals the show and adds plenty of charm to the story.
This installment nicely balances mystery with character development, and it left me eager for both the next book in the series and Amanda Flower’s upcoming new series starring Darcy Woodin.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The characters are fun and well-developed, the setting is quaint and beautiful. The book concludez with a truffle recipe. Would recommend Thank you to Amanda Flower, Netgalley and Kensington Books for the arc of this book
