He's the best mail lead around, and I'm just his childhood friend turned roommate...
I've spent my life battling to manage my parents' impossible expectations and trying to catch the eye of Brian Single, a man whose head only turns for mail. Bemoaning my humanity shouldn't really be at the top of my priorities after I've just moved out of my parents' house and in with the mailman himself, but—haha—it is.
When Brian launches a Christmas in July event where we both now work together, I'm thrilled to finally be a part of the morale-boosting fun. What I don't expect is for the entire thing to be an excuse to get closer to me.
With love letters, mistletoe, and mischief abounding, it's really starting to look a lot like Christmas.
Love Letters to Christmas is a closed-door romantic comedy with plenty of swoon and sizzle, but none of the spice. Welcome to another novel in the growing EverStorm universe, featuring workplace romance, childhood friends to roommates, and sunshine/sunshine leads.
Camilla Evergreen is an alias of USA Today bestselling author Anne Stryker. Originally intended as a dumping ground for all things lacking fantasy, Camilla/Anne came to the shocking discovery that writing sarcastic, chaotic romcoms full of quippy heroines and adoring heroes has a kick to it.
Camilla/Anne’s neurodivergent tendencies leave her hyperfocused on writing sweet and sassy romances from dawn till dusk and lending whatever her current creative obsessions are to her characters. From arranged marriages to falling for the boss, there’s lots of love to go around.
When say cute, I mean… goofy. The main characters in this story ore the strangest people I have ever bothered to read about. They were cute, but so weird that I had to make myself finish this.
Camilla Evergreen writes sweet, clean romance and is usually pretty fun. She always writes her characters over the top, but these were over the stratosphere.
Brian loves mail. He’s the mailroom guy, but loves letters, especially ones the writer took care to make beautiful.
Brian invited a childhood friend to stay with him and got her a job, also in the mailroom. Amelia also known by Brian as Amail-ia has mental issues caused by parents she could never please.
Amelia can’t stop being a people pleaser and feels guilty when Brian tries to show her that he cares about her even when she isn’t doing everything. They adore each other, but have less than standard trope reasons for not getting together. Of course it works out, but it was excruciating getting there. I love this author’s sense of humor, but it didn’t quite hit the right tone this time. Decent writing in this two star odd, yet clean romance.
I did devour this book. I can’t imagine not loving Brian and Amelia. They are gems. Beautiful Christmas, Mail-loving gems.
There is really so much I could say about this book, but ultimately the dynamic between the two of these such sweet golden retriever energy people has me in love.
I love the love letter aspect. I love the male room scenes. I love the living together. It’s all just so great. It works together so well for Amelia to be healing from all of her trauma in the safest place in Brian’s home.
Of course I love seeing some characters from some of the other books come back into this book and I love the dynamics that they play at their branding company and the cameos from Frank Ruby, Will, Liam, Amber, Ceres, and Mars.
I knew I would enjoy this book for sure based on the rest of the books that have come out and of course it being Camilla‘s book, I love it even more than I thought . Obviously, this one still has dark themes due to the anxiety and the deep seated lies that Amelia believes about herself, but I feel like it’s still so light and hopeful because there is healing.
OK. I’ll stop rambling. This is a good book. I loved it. Definitely recommend. Cant wait to read what is next.
This was so adorable, like I knew it would be. Brian and Amelia had been in love with each other for decades but neither ever said anything. Honestly, their love for mail was really cute. Amelia had had a rough childhood and I was so glad she gain the courage to leave that life. Being with Brian was the perfect solution. Brian was so sweet, he was always thinking of her and what she deserved. I loved them as a couple, I really did
Every time I get to read a new Camilla Evergreen book I get so excited. Her stories are beautiful and her characters are real and flawed. My heart hurts when something the character says hits home, which always happens, but I also laugh frequently because she is hilarious. Chiweenie in an American flag outfit, anyone? And I love when a side character gets their own book and I would have been devastated if Amelia and Brian had not been given the proper love and attention they deserved. Brian was introduced in Unwillfully Wed to My Valentine and Amelia in Red Flag, Green Light. These two were a match made in heaven, or maybe a post office. Read this book, but read the others first so you get the full story and understand the beauty of this world the author has created.
Get ready for Christmas in July, folks. Here comes Amelia Christmas. She’s finally gotten the courage to leave her controlling family behind her, and she’s moved several miles away to live with an old school friend, Brian Single. Brian has also secured her a job at his workplace in the mailroom with him. Brian is obsessed with mail; it’s his one true love. Did I mention Amelia has had a crush on him since school? No? Well, I have now.
Brian is the most adorable, golden retriever, green flag male I have ever come across. I don’t think there is anything that this guy can do wrong. Did I mention he’s been crushing on Amelia (or rather A-mail-ia as he calls her)? No? Well, I have now.
Brian and Amelia are both such beautiful people. Brian is so patient with Amelia; she suffers from very bad self-esteem thanks to her parents, but Brian is always there for her, picking her up when she’s down and basically being everything she could ever need, loving her quietly when needed and vocally when the time is right.
I loved Brian’s Christmas-themed event at work as well, and it was so good to see characters from Camilla’s previous books again. Liam and Amber are still blissfully happy it seems, and Mars and Ceres are still deranged but happy.
This had to be the sweetest book I’ve read lately. Brian is going to set the bar for blonde boyfriends everywhere. I think he has single-handedly saved blonde heroes from being maligned all over Bookstagram. Long live blonde MMCs!!
(Camilla, thank you for the advanced copy so I could tell everyone about this goodness on day 1!!!)
Amelia Christmas is finally out of her parents’ house. At the ripe age of mid-20’s, some friends stepped in and found her a place to stay and a job and amidst much yelling from her parents, she loaded up her car and took off for her new job and life in the city.
Brian Single is the heart throb of Bandera, but he has gently turned down every single girl who has ever approached him. Amelia would know- she’s been watching since they were kids, pining from afar. She knows what his one true love is: MAIL. The man lives for the post- stamps, envelopes, packages, brown paper and string..he loves it all. And that’s all he’ll ever need.
Or is it?
This is an adorable roommates to lovers, she falls first he falls harder, Christmas in July rom com. Tropes include boss/employee, childhood friends to lovers, only one house, found family, forced proximity, mail, she falls first, and sunshine/sunshine. Absolutely cozy. No red flags in either main character. Just a love story with all of the swoon and none of the spice.
Trigger warnings: History of emotionally abusive parents, and insufficient mail, always insufficient mail...
I’ve been excitedly awaiting Brian’s book. He’s enthusiastic, improves company morale, and is absolutely obsessed with the mail. Amelia is obsessed with him, and has more than a healthy passion for mail as well. They were adorable together! The only thing I wished for was more shenanigans and kissing, and less monologuing. I was in it for Amelia and Brian together, not for Amelia’s journey of self-healing.
Brian Single loves mail, almost more than anything else. Amelia, as it turns out, also loves mail, and Brian. He doesn’t know about the love part, yet. When Amelia’s best friend Ceres asks her (then) boyfriend Mars to talk to Brian about getting her out of town and giving her a job, Brian goes one step further, giving her a room in his home.
Amelia (or A-mail-ia, as Brian likes to call her) is escaping an abusive home life. Right here is a good time to remind everyone that abuse is not exclusively physical. Mental and emotional abuse are insidious, as they leave no marks on the outside. (I might know a little something about that.) Brian recognizes her trauma, especially as she apologizes for everything about herself as if she’s a burden. It’s hard to reboot her brain and overwrite that programing.
Brian soon realizes that Amelia is as obsessed with mail as he is, and having her work in the mailroom with him is like paradise. He’s doing his best to remind her daily that she is not in trouble, she is not doing anything wrong, and she is welcome in his home. She takes that thankfulness to the extreme by making dinner every night, cleaning the whole house, and even trying to wash his car when she thinks he’s not looking.
But things really get going when he gets a love letter from an anonymous sender. Well, not so anonymous; he immediately recognizes Amelia’s handwriting.
This story is full of so many relatable moments, especially the fear of people thinking you’re a burden on them. Amelia has been programmed almost from birth to be the sponge that soaks up all of her parents’ self-hate. And trust me, it’s all theirs, but she takes it on as hers, as she was conditioned to do.
Brian is so, so good for her. I don’t think anyone else could have really gotten through to her like he does. And it’s so cute when he realizes he’s in love with her. I want to talk about so many other things, but that would roam into spoiler territory, and I don’t go there.
Another excellent book from this author, whose writing always touches something within me, resonates with me. We all have our issues, and we all have our strengths. The trick is knowing which is which, when there’s no one there to tell us.
The “adoption” of Brian Single from creator Storm Sterling to Camilla Evergreen was a highly amusing joke for fans of both authors, but then Brian’s story was released…
And there is no joke about it- Camilla, creator of more cuteness characters and unadulterated siren of squee has taken Brian and his deeply abiding love for all things mail and postmen of the world had better beware, because Brian and his adoration for Amelia (his A-mail-ia) has ruined us for the ordinary everyday mail slinger.
And before anyone dares complain about Amelia’s struggle with self worth, I will defend this girl and her portrayal fiercely, because there are far too many broken girls like her in the world, and yes, they deserve safe spaces to heal from the toxic people of the world.
Amelia, who we met in Camilla and Storm’s Red Flags duology, is so sweet of a character you can’t help but root for. Her infatuation with Brian goes back to their elementary school days, and little does she know that he’s been aware of her over the years as well.
Brian, who has received many a love letter from girls over the years, has never shown interest or reciprocated the feeling, is ecstatic when his childhood friend, Mars Rogue, asks if Brian could help out Amelia with a place to stay while she finds a job and her footing in the “big city”. Immediately Brian offers his guest bedroom and a job in the mailroom of Whirlwind Branding where he works.
Why? Because he knows within sweet and shy Amelia lies the beating heart of a fellow lover of all things postal. A girl who has always thrilled him with her sunshine and love for artisanal-levels of custom wax seals.
Can he somehow sweep adorable Amelia off her feet or is he doomed to remain Single forever?
Don’t question it- just read the book- in fact, read the other interconnected stories that weave around Whirlwind Branding, because they are so much fun and filled with characters you will come to love.
Love Letters to Christmas is part of the Everstorm universe, so if you've read Camilla's previous books in that world (Red Flag, Green Light and Unwillfully Wed to My Valentine), you will likely recognize these characters as they have been previously introduced there. That said, while I think those who have read those previous books might have a bit better understanding of some of the unique relationship/workplace dynamics in this world, this could probably be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.
Camilla Evergreen never fails to deliver characters who are 100% unique... and a MMC who is obsessed with mail? Yeah, that fits with what I've come to expect. Another thing I've come to expect? Stories that are somehow both lighthearted and cozy... while still taking on topics of mental health beautifully and realistically, which we certainly see in Amelia's character here as she deals with past trauma and anxiety. I loved seeing her working through and growing throughout this story... and how Brian supports her through that. They really are the sweetest together and I couldn't help but enjoy them. Throw in some Christmas in July fun and secret love letters, and there truly was a lot to keep me smiling throughout this story. Camilla Evergreen has such a unique style unlike any others I've seen in the sweet/closed-door romcom genre and I find I enjoy her stories every time.
Love Letters to Christmas is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. The author always does a great job of setting up reader's expectations, so be sure to check out her author's note before reading to decide if this one is a good fit for you.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
The best word to describe this novel is adorable. Brian Single is adorable and obsessed with mail and employee morale. Amelia (Brian calls her A-mail-ia) Christmas is adorable and loves to create unique wax seals for letters. It’s a match made in the mailroom at Whirlwind Branding, where they both now work. Amelia is also staying in Brian’s guest room, so not only is it a workplace romance, but you also have the close proximity outside of work. Brian is extremely protective of Amelia (in the most adorable way) and their romance is sweet and clean.
When Liam goes on his honeymoon with Amber and leaves Brian in charge of morale with a platinum AMEX, the hijinks begin. Brian plots to get Amelia to fall for him by planning a company-wide Christmas in July celebration. Brian learned from his mistakes (and the complaints) about his Countdown to Valentine’s celebration, and although they are at first hesitant, his coworkers are soon enjoying themselves.
While Brian is plotting, Amelia is writing Brian love letters but signing them from a secret admirer. She’s actually been writing him love letters for years, since they were children back in Bandara, but she never had the courage to send them. With Brian’s attention to mail-related detail, he of course recognizes her handwriting but is waiting for her to get the courage to actually tell him. Did I mention that this story was adorable?
Love Letters to Christmas by Camilla Evergreen is an adorable self-help story that you just can’t but feel warm and cozy inside.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll it again. Camilla does a great job in filling a hole that you didn’t know needed to be filled. Seriously, this was such a feel good book, a Christmas in July. It was full of situations of recovering from trauma and abu3e, and Camilla goes over the importance of time. I just love the dedication and respect Camilla always gives to the importance of time. Though despite those heavy words I spewed there, it was a cozy book that felt good to read.
The characters were lovable, I loved their inner dialogue and their different POVs. I just loveeeed knowing inner thoughts of each of the main characters and it just made me float knowing the details. Brian, seriously was an angel, dedicated, loyal, and amazing at giving attention to Amelia. Amelia an amazing and strong woman who put time and effort into feeling better in all aspects, like mentally and physically. It was such a treat to see her character growth and journey.
I really recommend this book to anyone who just wants a downright cozy novel to cuddle up to in the middle of summer. Really anything by Camilla Evergreen is a highlight and a recommendation from me.
This book was absolutely amazing!!! I just finished reading it and I'm still reeling from all the feels! Brian and Amelia were made for each other, and while Amelia had to work through the abuse she lived through with her parents, Brian is there to wipe away every tear. To affirm her, to show her how life should be and what love looks like. I laughed so hard while reading this and then felt the deep pain in Amelia's heart. This is a story of how a beautifully decorated letter enraptured a young boy and how he never stopped thinking about the girl who created it. The one who may be even more in love with mail than he is.
Their love is so seamless and their devotion to each other made me forget that I was even reading a fictional book. This book is perfection and honestly one of my favorites! It could have been 600 pages long and I wouldn't have gotten tired of it.
Plus seeing characters from other EverStorm books is the best! I wish I could work at Whirlwind Branding 😭
Tropes: 🏠 Roommates 💘 Forced proximity 💌 Secret love letters - these were amazing 😭 💼 Workplace romance 💝 Childhood acquaintances to lovers 🎄 Christmas in July 🥘 He cooks for her
Oatmeal raisin cookies that look like chocolate chip cookies are the reason I have trust issues.
My cheeks hurt from smiling so much as I read this book.
I don't know how Camilla Evergreen took the most comical characters I believe she has ever written (definitely Brian, Amelia only when fangirling about Brian) and made them so... human. Sweet little mailman-obsessed Amelia who even Ceres couldn't shut out has an internal monologue I do NOT envy. I kind of expected that, given her backstory.
What I did not expect was Brian. He's more self-aware than I expected, for one (thank you, Camilla.) But more importantly, saccharine, effusive-as-the-sun Brian... feels real. To summarize: when the letters started flying, he made my jaw drop so far I had to scrape it off the floor. And I am HERE for it!!!
This is a book about overcoming fear, and figuring out the crazy kaleidoscope of beliefs you have to wade through to undo the damage that living in fear brings. Read it, laugh like a maniac, and find yourself randomly muttering to yourself about muffins and colors of sealing wax. You'll be glad you did!
Camilla has blessed us with another masterpiece, and this time it’s all about our favorite mail lover, Brian Single. Ever since his first appearance in Unwillfully Wed to My Valentine, I’ve been waiting for his story — and let me tell you, it was so worth it.
I loved how Amelia and Brian got together, bonded over their mutual love for mail. They both understood each other and Brian helped Amelia heal and get better in a way that’s so him.
This book felt like a warm hug — gentle, comforting, and full of heart. True to its title, it read like a real love letter in story form. And once you read it, you’ll understand just how perfect that cover is — it fits the story so well.
Honestly, this book broke my heart a little (in the best way), because this kind of love might only exist in books, and that’s exactly what makes this story so sweet, special and swoon-worthy. I loved every page.🥰❤️

I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book felt like a warm hug wrapped in twinkle lights. Love Letters to Christmas is equal parts hilarious, heartfelt, and genuinely tender. The childhood-friends-to-roommates dynamic between Brian and the narrator is sweet and refreshingly sincere, and I found myself smiling through nearly every page.
What really stuck with me, though, was how it explored the quiet ache of wanting to be seen, not just by someone you love, but by family, by yourself. The love letters, the playful mischief, and the unexpected emotional depth made this more than just a rom-com, it was a story about self-worth, hope, and choosing joy even when it feels complicated.
Utterly charming, effortlessly funny, and filled with heart. A perfect read for anyone who believes in love that grows gently, then all at once.
Ooof. I couldn't put it down. I devoured it. I LOVE Brian and A-mail-ia. So sweet. So adorable. But also so genuine. I resonate so much with Amelia's inner voice. With the feeling of being traumatized but not believing your circumstances were bad enough for it (my parents genuinely loved and love me, they genuinely tried their best, but it wasn't what I needed. I think I might identify more closely with Ceres than Amelia). I would have liked a protective moment where Amelia's parents were a little issue and Brian's protective side came out. But that would have been icing. The book was beautiful. Sweet, fun. I love the obsession with mail, letter writing, and seals. If I didn't already have a dozen expensive hobbies, I would be diving in immediately. This is on my reread list. Honestly, all of Camilla's are on my reread list.
Sunshine/sunshine is not typically my thing. I need some grumpiness or at least some darkness somewhere and yeah, I still adored this book.
Even if Amelia spoke into words the thoughts I battle with constantly.
“feels like I’m constantly fighting a self-centered nature that makes me hate everything about who I am. My immediate defense is to pour all my attention into someone who isn’t me. I keep myself busy, even if I do it bitterly, just so I don’t feel like a waste of space, just so I can distract myself from the constant uneasy knowledge that I am never going to be good enough.”
Camilla, can I still get that “have you tried therapy?” card even if I’m NOT saying “eeww, Amelia”?
Yay! I’m glad we get to see Brian and Amelia get there happily ever after. These two are truly made for each other. It is so easy to see once you dive into their story. Seeing Brian not only love Amelia like she should have always been loved but also seeing him support her through her healing journey will warm your heart. While it can’t be easy for him to pull back and meet her where she needs him to, he does it without thought or waiver. This is a dual pov, clean romance. It is part of a multi author series but can be read as a stand alone novel. While it can be read as a stand alone, I think it would be best enjoyed if the series is read in order.
Before starting, I didn’t know if I would like a sunshine/sunshine dynamic but I ended up loving this story. Brian has more to him than I realized from the other stories in the universe. Amelia is precious and must be protected and allowed to flourish. Their relationship is funny and sweet and I’m so glad they got their own story. Romance: mild. Violence: none. Love triangles: none. Cliffhanger: none.
Highly recommend. HEA Can be read as standalone or enjoyed in series release order.
After Brian’s introduction in Fire at Will duet, I was immediately drawn into his story and knew he deserved a love story of his own. When Amelia appeared in Red Flags and Rogue Brothers, I couldn’t wait to see how their paths would intersect. Their journey was the perfect balance of sweetness that made my heart smile, paired with just enough personal struggle to keep me hooked and relate to their growth. Brian and Amelia are pure sunshine, and their story was the ideal read to bring a little lightness into my own life.
Is it incredibly handy that I finished the second book in a trilogy just before Christmas and the third is not available until the day after Christmas, allowing the perfect amount of time to inhale the beauty that is Love Letters to Christmas? Yes, it was.
This story was so sweet, so swoony, and so damn relatable. Some of the lines I could have sworn Amelia pulled straight from my reforming-people-pleasing brain.
If you like kindness and mischief, sunshine x sunshine, forced proximity, mental health reps, and very expressive eyebrows (IYKYK), then you should definitely check this one out.
Brian Single. If you read the Fire at Will series, and the Red Flags and Rogue Brothers, then there’s not much more I need to say in order to encourage you to read this book. The best mail lead ever, with Christmas in July themes—that actually make sense. Such a beautiful book, Amelia may not think so, but just ask Brian. 🩷 Happy Christmas in July! Don’t forget to properly appreciate the postal system. 😁
I….I…I think I just read a fan-fic of my life in an AU with a wondrously delightful romance and with just the perfect mix of sunshine and mischief and SO MANY WAX SEALS. But it is masquerading as a professional and completely unrelated to any real people book.
It is therapy and healing in stunning fictitious story format.
Brian - You are a legend, All the sunshine and more. My heart goes out to Amelia, I truly believe her letters are her own therapy, what a read. Loved that Brian was always in her corner and forever will be, his actions and ways to woo her are SWOON! He is the sweetest. Great to catch up with some previous couples who featured in Camilla's other books too.
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own
I love Brian and Amelia and Christmas in July and mail and all the goodness wrapped up in this beautiful present!! Camilla has done it again, delivering another novel full of laughter and feelings (ew) and character growth (ouch), and it is fantastic! Brian is a prince among men, with a slight diabolical streak, and Amelia is a princess who deserves to be protected at all costs. Go! Enjoy their story now! Merry Christmas!!
SO ADORABLE! Brian and Amelia were just so sweet together! Amelia is earnest, kind and just adores him. Brian is mischievous, cheerful and oblivious to her adoration. I thought they complimented each other perfectly and I appreciated the switch up of having her fall first. This book was very slow burn for me. (I’d have every book open like “My Best Friend and I Need Therapy” if it were possible) But it was so sweet I almost didn’t mind.
I really appreciated how steady Brian was for Amelia in this. There was very low stress as far as the MC's were concerned with each other and the stress primarily came from Amelia allowing herself to be loved. I think we all get a little bit like Amelia sometimes so it was really nice to see someone that fully supported her through it. Very sweet and an easy read. My favorite quote that gave me a chuckle: "I hate her. I hate me. I am my own love triangle."
I love this author. Her stories aren't my normal romcom. It's more like reading for fun, but the story is truly deep and very healing in ways that weren't anticipated. Amelia is so special and loved by Brian. I thought he was so weird in the very beginning, but I loved his optimism and perseverance, and love for people. It's a beautiful, special romance that is so worth the read.
I wish I had someone like Brian in my corner. He’s amazing at what he does, and how he loves. Amelia is certainly a lucky lady. Amelia needs the biggest hug of her life. She had it rough; she needs to enjoy life, love, and happiness. Thankfully, she’s already doing all that with the help of Brain.
I cannot stop gushing over how he treats Amelia. I can’t wait for more from Camilla Evergreen to come out. She is in my top 10 favourite authors.
