The Bouncer She showed up with a fake name and scars on her gorgeous face, and I knew I had to protect her at all costs. The stunning single mom with kind eyes filled with fear. One look, and my heart belonged to her, whether I was ready or not…
The Single Mom I’m running from my past, into a future where I can protect my children. I have no time for romance, even if the sexy, protective bouncer is determined to learn my secrets. I struggle to keep him at arm’s length, but I can’t deny the pull of my desire…
Can dangerous pasts lead to better futures, or are some mistakes destined to be repeated?
If you love a sultry instalove story with a blue collar, protective hero and a scrappy single mom, this book is for you. Enjoy the sizzling romance!
The Bouncer and the Single Mom was packed with drama, and I loved every minute of it, seriously chef’s kiss. There are some trigger warnings though, so definitely check those before you start.
Sable and Butch did not see each other coming. She shows up at the club he bounces at, on the run from her evil husband and just trying to find a job. Butch takes one look at her and knows she’s it,there’s no other woman for him. And he really puts in the work to prove he’s all in.
But Sable has two kids and a whole life she’s been handling on her own. It’s not easy going from surviving by yourself to trusting someone else, especially with everything she’s been through. You really feel her fear, her strength, and how hard she’s fighting for her kids.
I loved how she finds a family in the Maple Ridge people who show her she’s not alone and will do anything to keep her safe. And Butch never tries to take over, he just shows up for her in all the right ways.
Their love felt like a gift. Messy, intense, but so worth it. This was the perfect evening read, I got completely lost in it.
Sometimes the strongest love begins when someone finally sees the pain you’ve been trying to hide.
The Bouncer and the Single Mom by Victoria Silk is an emotional, protective romance filled with suspense, healing, and the kind of devotion that makes you believe second chances are possible. Blending danger with tenderness, this story shows how love can grow even when life has left deep scars.
Emma—who now goes by the name Sable—is running.
After years trapped in an abusive marriage to a police officer who hid behind his badge and fellow officers who protected him, she finally escapes with her children. Determined to stay hidden and build a safe future for her family, she takes whatever work she can find and avoids drawing attention to herself.
But survival isn’t easy when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder.
When Emma arrives in a new town and finds work at a bar, the last thing she expects is to meet someone who refuses to look the other way.
That someone is Butch.
Butch is the bar’s intimidating bouncer—big, protective, and used to dealing with trouble. But the moment he sees Emma, with the fear in her eyes and the scars she carries, something inside him shifts. He doesn’t just notice her… he decides she’s someone worth protecting.
And once Butch makes that decision, there’s no turning back.
Despite everything she’s been through, Emma slowly begins to trust him. Butch not only opens his home to her and her children, he also proves that not every man is like the one she escaped from. His quiet strength and fierce loyalty give Emma something she hasn’t felt in a long time—safety.
Their relationship grows naturally, built on trust, patience, and the undeniable chemistry between them. Butch’s protective nature shines throughout the story, and watching him care for Emma’s children makes their bond even more powerful.
But Emma’s past refuses to stay buried.
When someone connected to her ex begins tracking her down, the danger returns full force. What follows is a tense and emotional confrontation where Emma finally has the chance to stand up to the man who controlled her life for so long.
Thankfully, she’s no longer alone.
With Butch and the new friends she’s made standing beside her, Emma finds the courage to fight back and reclaim the life she deserves.
The story balances romance, suspense, and emotional healing beautifully. Emma’s journey from fear to strength is deeply moving, while Butch’s unwavering devotion makes him the kind of hero readers can’t help but root for.
If you love:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Bouncer and the Single Mom was a quick, steamy, and emotional read that delivered exactly what Victoria Silk promises—high spice, protective heroes, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Sable was a heroine you immediately wanted to protect. Running from her past while trying to build a safer future for her children, she carried both physical and emotional scars but never lost her strength. I loved her determination to keep moving forward and put her family first, even when accepting help felt impossible.
Butch was the perfect protective hero. From the moment he sees Sable, his instincts kick in, and his devotion to keeping her safe was swoon-worthy. He didn’t just see her scars or her fears—he saw the woman underneath and wanted to give her the security and love she deserved.
The chemistry between them was intense from the start, and their connection built quickly while still giving Sable the space to trust again. The suspense surrounding her past added tension, while the romance provided the comfort and escape this story promised.
This is definitely a short, spicy romance focused more on heat, protection, and emotional comfort than a long, complex plot. If you enjoy protective alpha heroes, single mom romances, dangerous pasts, instant attraction, and fast-paced spicy stories with a happy ending, The Bouncer and the Single Mom is an enjoyable escape.

***The review is for the book and audiobook*** A wonderful story about Butch the bouncer and Emma (Sable) the single mom on the run from an abusive husband. Emma’s husband was a police officer that was able to get away with abusing Emma, despite her asking for help, because the police officers in this story protected each other. Her new home seems to welcome her, and before long Emma was working as a bartender being paid under the table and living with Butch and her children. Despite all she had been through, Emma was able to trust Butch enough to eventually become lovers. Her ex’s partner tracked her down, and the battle began with her new friends supporting her. This was a well-written, emotional, spicy romance.
The narrator, Ri Paige, had a pleasant voice and was enjoyable to listen to. The narrator’s voice quality and character distinction, pacing and rhythm, and emotional delivery made the book even more enjoyable. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and think the excellent narration added to the experience for me. If you are looking for a well-written, well-narrated, sizzling hot romance with a strong female lead and a possessive alpha male lead, I would recommend this book.
Having enjoyed every story in this series, I can confidently say this installment stands out as my favorite yet. The chemistry between Butch, the protective bouncer, and Sable, a mysterious newcomer seeking refuge and employment at the nightclub, creates an immediately compelling dynamic. Sable is clearly fleeing from someone who has hurt her, and Butch's instant connection to her sets up a beautiful protective romance.
The story expertly balances steamy, erotic elements with genuine romantic development. While the attraction is immediate (instalove), the emotional journey feels authentic and deeply touching. Watching Butch's unwavering determination to shield Sable from harm while their relationship deepens creates a satisfying and endearing narrative arc.
Ri Paige delivers another outstanding narration performance, bringing both characters to life with skill and nuance. Her voice work enhances every emotional beat of the story, making this audiobook a true pleasure to experience.
This series continues to impress, and I'm eagerly anticipating the next release.

This is book 6 of the Dirty Jobs series. I haven’t read any of the previous books so I can honestly say it can be read as a standalone. This was a great romance with a little bit of suspense thrown in. The chemistry between Butch (the MMC) and Sable/Emma (the FMC) was very apparent and the protective side of Butch was hot. It had some really great spice that added to the story – not one where they are just trying to add in as much as possible for lack of story. I can’t wait to read more in this series! As I listened to the Audio version of this book, I can say the narrator was great to listen to, had a distinctive voice difference between the characters, which is not always done well in solo narration. I haven’t listened to this narrator before, but it is one I would enjoy again. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review honestly and voluntarily.
Wonderful story. I was glad that Butch felt an instant connection to Sable (Emma). He wouldn’t let her run away from her (ex) husband because he was a cop and could hurt her more if she told anyone he had her see how much he loved her and her children and wanted to keep them safe. Butch is a bouncer at a bar where Sable got a job at. She works under the table so she can’t be found, but it doesn’t seem to have been enough because she was still being harassed. It seems odd that the one fallowing her is a man who works at the police department and wants her (ex) husband to fall for him because he’s wanted him for years. In the end I am glad that Butch helped Sable find some good police officers who put her (ex) husband away for all of the trouble that he has caused.
Audiobook review This is another sexy read in the Dirty Jobs series. A young mother on the run finds herself getting the help she needs from a surprising source. Butch is more than willing to protect Emma and her children from the threat that is coming for them. It was nice to see Emma and Butch find their way. As much as I enjoy a Dom/sub relationship I was not as fond of Butch’s dirty talking. It did not really work for me but this only slightly took away from this book for me. Their story will have you believing in the strength of love. Narrator Ri Paige does a nice job of bringing this story to life and had me entertained all the way to the end. All making this a 3.5 star read for me.
The Bouncer and the Single Mom by Victoria Silk is a steamy, short audiobook that delivers instant chemistry and heart-fluttering tension. The narrator brings both characters to life, capturing the bouncer’s protective intensity and the single mom’s cautious vulnerability perfectly. Despite the story’s brevity, the emotional stakes are high, with danger, desire, and parental love entwined. Fans of spicy, fast-paced romances with guaranteed HEAs will be hooked from start to finish. A perfect escape for listeners craving danger, passion, and a little forbidden romance in one swoon-worthy package.
The Bouncer and the Single Mom is filled with emotion, action, drama, and steam. Butch is a beautiful alpha protector with a heart of gold. He is down bad for Sable aka Emma from the moment he sees her, and she pushes him away at every turn. Emma is running scared, doing her best to keep herself and her kids safe. The way Butch steps up and steps in is beautiful. The chemistry between Butch and Emma is electric, and the way he bonds with her kids is gorgeous. Loved this one so much!
Narrator Ri Paige is on point with her performance. Her distinctive voices and passionate delivery make each character and the world they live in come to audio life. Loved it!

This review is based on the audiobook. It is another sexy story by Victoria Silk, narrated by the talented Ri Paige. Emma (the single mom) is used to running from her abusive husband until she meets Butch (the bouncer) at a job in a nightclub. He is immediately attracted to her and determined to protect her. Which is absolutely necessary, because her past is catching up on her and her children. Great, sexy story with a HEA and a very cute epilogue.
And I’m happy to hear there will be more Dirty Job-books!

The author describes these books as "escape" books - short & spicy and just enough to give you a little escape. I think that's a good description!
The book is well written & an enjoyable fast read. I liked the characters & their sweet story. I liked seeing some of the same characters in multiple books in this series. And loved how compassionate they were to the single mom.

This is now my favourite story in the Dirty jobs series. I love how the Bouncer is so caring and understanding of the single mom. The story is somewhat predictable but still very enjoyable. It's also nice to see some of the characters from the previous books come back as supporting characters. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Hands down. I love the touch her and ☠️ vibes. Victoria Silk has a knack for creating very likeable and realistic characters, not to mention strong FMCs. I'm looking forward to the next one. Narration 10/10
This is a great story! High steam and spice, protection, caring, understanding, and found family are the themes at the center of this story,

The FMC is on the run. The MMC is a bouncer. I really liked this story. These two are really compatible. She is hesitant, however. There is a bit of drama. Towards the end it was heartwarming and a bit emotional. This was a relatively light story. It was easy to listen to and easy to digest. The narrator was really good. I want to read more stories like this and this author’s other books. I would definitely recommend this read/audiobook.
This is book 6 in the Dirty Jobs series and follows Butch and Emma as they navigate life, starting over, love, and find a way to HEA. I love Emma and how strong she is for her children and Butch and how he just keeps showing up for them to prove to Emma he can be trusted and she can count on him. A little action, a little danger, plenty of heat, lots of love, and a HEA make this a great read.

This was an amazing ALC. the story hit the ground running. Emma was on the run with her kids. And Butch knew there was more to her story. And he wasn’t about to let anything happen to her or the kids. So he stepped in. I loved the way he instantly saw through her and wanted to protect her. RI Paige was excellent with the narration of this one. Brought it to life, gave it emotion and emphasis perfectly throughout.
As long as Ri Paige is the narrator there cannot be anything wrong with the story. I love how each sotry build or is an extentions of the story before and that they are intertwined but standalones too.
I love every story that is writte by Victoria Silk and narrated by Ri Paige.
This is a great read I loved watching these how realistic the writing is. The author gives such unique view points. The characters come come alive and jump off the page. The plot was insane. I loved how balanced it was between the drama that was going on in the FMC’s life and the relationship building between them. I highly recommend reading the book!
The chemistry with Emma and Butch is palpable. Suspense, slight twist, mixed with a little k1nk. I will definitely be looking for more books in this series!
❤️He falls first 🖤Abusive Ex 🎧 3:26 Narrated by Ri Paige did a great job! 📚 Dirty Jobs series book 6 🌶️🌶️🌶️.

Good listen, it has depth to it. I liked that there was some twists that you don't see coming. Plenty of spice to melt your earbuds. NSFW so watch where you listen to it. I like how it's wrapped up too.
This is a short insta love type story that is perfect to clear your brain of the other nonsense in it. The connection between the characters is electric and the narrator does a good job of bringing it to life.
Butch and Emma find each other when she's on the run with her kids. Emma left an abusive situation and is trying her best to stay under the radar. Butch knows there is more to her story, and he just wants to keep her and her kids safe. I enjoyed this audiobook.
What a great story about finding a man to protect her and her children against an abusive husband. Butch may have a big, hot body, but he also had a great heart. It's wonderful how their little work community helps each other. What an ending, but a great happily ever after.
