This book totally fit my dream house aesthetic. I’m definitely a combination of the Paris and London style.

Content wise, I loved the pictures. They showcased very intriguing design styles. Here are some of my favorite ideas from the book:

-Hanging lingerie on walls (Paris)
-Using doll heads for a touch of gloom (Paris)
-Putting a ladder on a bookcase (London)
-Putting a bathtub in a bedroom (London)
-Having a picnic at the cemetery where Soren Kierkegaard is buried (Copenhagen)

Overall, this was a great coffee table book for those looking for home inspiration.

I adored this book. The photos are very inspiring! I also like that there are different decorative styles -- some home decor books I've read get old in a hurry because the same person is coming up with the ideas and you very quickly can pick up patterns and colors that they prefer so there's not as much variety. I also like that each city represented comes with a music playlist, a movie list, and a to read list. I'm such a geek about little details like that. Will come back to this one over and over!

Being more of a Wanderluster than a Homebody... I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH! - just a bit excited. This book is basically a physical Pinterest of design in these cities. There are beautiful pages of design inspiration, tips, and projects by location, as well as a list of books, movies, music that will inspire you by city. There is even a section about flea markets in each place! This is much less of a how-to, as it is a book of majorly swoony travel and home photos, but it is very well done. There were pieces from each city that appealed to me, and just as many books I now want to read, movies I now want to watch etc. Beautiful, Beautiful book! I could probably go on and on, but if you have a taste for travel and an eye for beautiful environments I would definitely recommend this one!

Based on the descriptions this books provides, I would rank my style as Copenhagen, London, New York, Paris, Los Angeles.

I love the layout and organization of this book, with its photographs, descriptions, inspiration, and book-, film-, and song-lists!

A beautiful book! One star is deducted for the countless decorating tips that violate Fengshui rules. :) But still cool.

While it was interesting I feel it didn't capture the styles of the cities very well.

What a beautiful book! Lovely pictures taken by her in friends' homes with amazing flea market finds.
The only problem I had was that the tone made it seem like there was only way you could incorporate the style of a city into your house, but maybe she just wanted to put forth the popular, romanticised idea of the particular cities. But apart from that one-dimensionality, I wish she wrote another about non-North cities. Would love to see Colombian/Moroccan/Indian (etc.) homes too!

I enjoyed the discussions of the character of each city and the concomitant design choices. I thought the discussion of Los Angeles was based on a lot of cliches so I’m not sure I trust the rest of the book. Still highly readable

Author seemed to relish the macabre or slightly off - perhaps a necessity of flea market decorating. Some clever items but not my cup of tea.

Beautiful book, although I'm not sure it identified distinct styles by city so much as used examples from multiple locations to illustrate one overarching style.

Great pictures with the added awesomeness of book and movie recommendations and a bit of history on Paris, London, New York, LA, and Copenhagen.
