Reluctantly, Rachel and Sam take the children in, but just until after Christmas. Neither one of them is.
And that's only one of their problems.

Emma is pretty and sweet, and the kind of woman he'd always wanted, but never dreamed he could have. Her innocence and vulnerability tugs at Rye's weary heart, and the sizzling sexual pull between them can't be ignored.
But Emma has a dangerous ex-boyfriend, plus an outraged, overprotective father with a family connection that dooms Rye and Emma's relationship from the start. That and Rye's dangerous past make it seem impossible for them to have a future together. ********************************************

Absolutely loved the first part of the book but to be honest I couldn’t even finish the second part of the book Emma it was like watching an x rated movie it was an uncomfortable read I’m not a prude I’m very open minded but not for me I mentioned to my daughter who also read the book she’s quite young and said the same no story really just older guy wants younger girl and younger girl wants the guy but just sex so sorry to say this really spoiled it after a great written first story with an excellent storyline totally spoilt it what a shame
It was so easy to get wrapped up in these stories. The characters are memorable in so many ways. The stories contain the same family with different members as the focus of each book. I like the way strong issues like abandonment and abuse are handled. Through out the books there is a strong sense of family. The steamy scenes add sizzle. I really liked the set of books.
Absolutely loved the first two books of Christmas with the McRaes, but the third one could not get my attention in any way! The first two books show true real life stories and the relationships between the couple are felt so heavily in the book. The bonus book found after the three books is lovely as well! It has been so long since I've read such stories which hold my attention throughout.
What wonderful stories. These are things that happen in everyday life and everyone's lives. The togetherness of the family is awesome. Would recommend 👌 to everyone to read.
Enjoyed the three stories, but found Everything to me more of a teaser, wish I hadn't started it, esp when I found out there more 5 more novellas. It needed to be one book not 6. With never know what happen with Peter and Dana.
I did not expect to like this book as much as I did. I usually find Christmas stories to be a bit lame (and yet I keep reading them) but this was free/cheap at the time so I took a chance on it. In this case Christmas was a charming backdrop to the stories but it never felt like a forced plot element.
The stories were quite intense and deep and I couldn't help but be caught up in them. I found all the characters to be complex and fascinating. I'm really happy I read this.
This is the only location I've found the book Welcome Lizzie to review so here is my review of that book.
After reading Twelve Days I couldn't wait to read more of the McRae's. Welcome Lizzie is book 3.5 in the series and focuses on the birth of Emma and Rye's 4th child and catches us up on the goings on of almost all of the McRae family. Emma's difficult delivery has her bed bound for a couple of weeks and family coming to visit and catch up. We see Zach and Julie trying to deal with her fear of having children, their issues of raising her troubled brother Peter, and more of Peter and Dana as their interest in each other grows. Grace arrives and falls apart over her issues with her new husband Luc.
I definitely want to fill in the gaps with the other books. Although many reviews raise the issues of difficult subject matter in most of these books, so far I've found them to be very well written and the subject matters dealt with in an appropriate manner. Definitely not for young people under 18 and anyone having dealt with issues of infertility, abuse, neglect, foster/adoptions that didn't work out, etc. may find the subject matter in this series difficult to read.
Boy and girl meet and within 5 minutes fall wildly, and passionately a d in a lifelong love affair that can never be replaced. One or both don't think he or she is good enough. End up, after some ridiculous reasons for needing to be apart, get married, the end. Drivel do not read, you know all the stories all ready. Teresa, I think you can write, give up the formula and write from your own imagination
This series started out really good and I truly enjoyed the first two books. I thought the third one got kind of raunchy in parts and had to do quite a bit of scanning through the bedroom scenes. I figure we all know what's going on, don't have to read about it. Enjoyed the Novella. Have ordered book 4 because this one is about the last of the three children adopted in book one, so will be reading that next but I think that will be the end of this series for me.
The first book was great - husband and wife working through problems, but each book escalated from sex after getting to know each other to just sex for what it was. True, they end up together, but it was like they reel you in with a good story line and then move to the soft porn and on. What ever happened to restraint for the fact that you respect the other person?
Awesome series. Book 1 - Probably my favorite Christmas story ever. Book 2 - Such a gutter. I really went thru the ringer with all the emotions. Book 3 - Great story.. Not my fave of the series, but ended beautifully Bonus excerpt - Loved it!!!
I actually only read Book 1, "Twelve Days," but that is not available as an option in Goodreads. This was a pretty good story--but there was so much heartbreak it was almost overwhelming. More explicit than it had to be; if that's indicative of this author's work I probably won't look for more.
I really enjoyed these books, I sometimes felt like part of the of family. I had a hard time putting my KIndle down. I would recommend these books to everyone.
