It took me more than half the book to actually care about the characters, and by the end I was just thinking, “Wait… that’s it?” Everything got resolved way too easily. After everything that happened, she just forgave him? It didn’t feel realistic at all.
I also wasn’t a fan of the female main character. She felt too naive and kept letting the male lead make all the important decisions. Their relationship felt pretty patriarchal, and I found that frustrating.
The story wasn’t bad, but the ending really let it down for me. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me.
