I had this book in my bookcase for over 11 years. I had never made time for it and it got buried behind a number of other books that came to me but were never read. I'm glad I'm taking time for these kinds of simple yet profound readings. I have found some great reminders for how to think and feel during a period of significant transition this year.
This was a cute quick read that ultimately brought peace and light to start my new year. A lot of the excerpts were insightful. A handful made me giggle. Reading this book did surprisingly make me feel like I was just talking to my friends. I definitely recommend it if someone is just looking for a light-hearted read.
I was given this book as a birthday gift and I absolutely loved it! It’s lighthearted, uplifting, and funny. I can see myself coming back to this book and picking certain passages based on the title for a pick-me-up when I need it. Highly recommend!
To be fair, I'm not the target audience for this book and I never wanted to read it or pick it up-which amounts to why I didn't like it, probably. It's just not my thing. I read it because I got it in a basket of other things I bought, and I thought I might as well read it before I swapped it since it was short.
It was a book that assumed most every woman was married, and had children. The book was put together from excerpts of other books-and not even very man of them-the variety was poor. It would take close to nothing to put this book together-and I didn't understand why a person wouldn't just read the other books-why was this book made-there was nothing new in it.
The excerpts were predictable and unoriginal, and embarrassingly cliche of "women". Totally uninspiring, in my opinion, and just a lot of superficial crap to make the writers feel good about themselves repeating things they think they should, etc..
Oh, I did copy out a recipe for Apple muffins. :p We'll see if those are worth the read. :p
