Dog Lover who likes her pastries full of cream and sugar...oh...and I write some ;-)

Aside from being an author, I am also a mom to a beautiful little girl. I tell everyone I named her after my great-grandmother (because that's the mature answer), but really, I named her after my favorite princess - just so happens I got lucky and they had the same name...If I wasn't a writer, I would work on a horse ranch - I'm an animal lover (in addition to dogs, horses are at the top of my list). I wear flip-flops pretty much everywhere I go. I would rather stay awake until 5 am than get up at 5 am (years of bar tending have left their mark), if I can, I'm going to the beach AND I will always be nice to people who bring me chocolate...or coffee...if you bring me both, I'll probably love you forever.

I write the way I live, following the story wherever it may lead, always ready to start the next one. This is clearly reflected in my body of work which to date includes everything from Children's Lit to Thrillers.
I happily reside in sunny Florida (for now) with my daughter and three dogs.

Royce Lemmi is an extremely successful and sexy bass player for the band Finding Nolan. An attempt to escape some paparazzi leads him to a chance meeting with Kieran Hudson, who turns out to be just the photographer they need to help document the band on tour for a book that is to be released afterwards. Royce and Hudson are very attracted to one another and quickly realize that they are a great match. The problem is that while Royce is out to his family and friends, he is still living a lie to the public. Hudson is very sure of himself and confident, and isn't about to pretend to be anything other than he is. Royce still struggles to see himself anything other than the boy who was tortured and rejected repeatedly throughout his youth. Hopefully Kieran will be able to help him see himself for who he really is.

I read this book without having read the first in the series, and had no problem connecting to the main characters or the supporting characters. That said, I will definitely be going back and reading the first in the series, because I would love to spend more time with everyone in this story. It was difficult to see just how tough things had been for Royce and the baggage he still carried with him. Hudson was completely easy to care about right from the start, and I was really hoping that they would figure out what they needed to do in order to stay together. The relationship between Royce and Ava was really fun and it was clear just how much they meant to each other. Watching everyone in the band interact, albeit dysfunctionally at times, in a way that made it clear just how important they are to one another was really endearing. I really enjoyed this story and will definitely be seeking out other books in this series.

This is book two in A Finding Nolan Series and it is Royce and Kieran's story. This story takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions with these two characters that are totally different in every way from each other and really shouldn't work out but in the end they are a force to be reckoned with. There are twists and turns that makes this a really great story and you feel all the pain as if you are there going through it with them and I couldn't put this book down. K. S. Thomas is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and I definitely can't wait to read the next book in this series. I definitely recommend you read this book and others by this author and you will definitely not be disappointed.

I've always been open to the idea of reading anything out of my normal genres. Already feeling safe and secure with KS' work, I jumped at the opportunity to expand my horizon. I've never read LGBT before and after reading Secret Hudson, I'll never close up the genre.

Coming from two completely different upbringings, Royce and Hudson find a mutual attraction for each other. In the midst of exploring their feelings for each other, they help each other to understand the stigma and labelling of being gay.

Where one has support and strength to shout to the world that he is proud of who he is, the other hides it from the world. These types of fears live in all of us, whether it be our weight, our race or even our sexuality. The world seems more intertwined when a book like this shows us how much we have in common.

I rate this book as phenomenal for showing me that the world, even as different as we are, has to band together to fight the fears we each carry.

Royce wasn't very open to his fan about himself. He falls in love with Hudson. It takes him to make him see how he's not seeing himself. But things happen and cause a ruckus ... I absolutely loved this story. It's a powerful story about hiding in the closet & to scared to show the world who you are.

The Beauty Within . . .

The reader can see that Royce Lemmi has an inner strength that is visible to others but not to himself. Being bullied in high school did so much damage to his confidence. So now, even with people screaming his name night after night, adoring him and his music, he still can’t believe in himself in those quiet moments of self-contemplation.

But Kieran Hudson has never experienced that problem. He has always known who he is, what he wants from life, and he is not afraid to step up and get it. He is particularly awesome at capturing beauty through his camera and he has set his sights on Royce, knowing that Royce does not see the beauty inside himself. This story will present the reader with their story as Kieran tries to heal the damage and expose the beautiful person inside of Royce to make him whole… and to make him his.

This is another story to melt your heart when a strong character sees the truth and reaches out to make things right. Royce is a good person who has worked hard to get where he is. But he just can’t let go of his difficult past and believe in himself. Grab your copy and see how Kieran reaches out to him. Can he really bring healing? Can he help Royce see the strength within himself?

I hadn’t read book 1 in this series so luckily for me book 1 is free on Amazon right now so of course I grabbed it, anyway this is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc and this is a m/m romance with Royce and Kieran. Royce was bullied in high school now he is a rock legend and when he looks in the mirror all he see’s is that scared little kid. The best thing that had ever happened to Royce was when he ran into a photographer Kieran in a little coffee shop, so can Kieran help Royce come out of the proverbial closet or will it all end in heartache?. I loved this story it’s very emotional and I can’t wait to read the next story and I definitely recommend this book.

Good read.

I love Royce and Kieran. My love for Royce began in the last book and was only solidified in this one. I think that Hudson was the perfect match for him and the final couple of chapters were perfect. I will say though, that I didn't like Ava so much in this one. She came off as much more crazy than in her book, which may just be how everyone else sees her, but she is becoming less likeable. After Angel's conversation with Hudson on the plane, I as so looking forward to his story.

This one was my first read in this series. I love this author and I picked up this book because I love her characters. I absolutely loved the first person point of view of the story. This is a deal breaker for me. I loved Ava and Royce's friendship. Their conversations were hilarious a lot of times.
Another great read, from the author that never disappoints.

This was a great rockstar m/m read. Royce who holds self esteem issues from how he was treated and is now thrust into stardom with him band.
Kerinan who is comfortable with who he is but finds solace behind a lens. These two complimented each other in such a healthy way.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the band. Will be reading more of this series.

This was the second in the Finding Nolan series. I didn't read the first one but didn't think it took anyway away from the story. Royce was bullied in high school. Now hes a rock god! Kieran works for his mother in her store during the day but at night he's a photographer. A chance encounter brings the two of them together. This was sooo good, now I have to go looking for the first one.

Royce and Ava went on a coffee run but the paparazzi caught them, Hudson took:them upstairs until he got them to leave. Ava loved his pictures he took that were on the wall in his mom’s coffee shop, so she decided to hire him to do band pictures. Hudson and Royce ended falling in love but Royce had a few things that he had to sort out but he did. Great book K. S. Thomas!

Original Blog Post: Happy Happy Release Day!!! eARC Review, Excerpt & #Giveaway: Secret Hudson (A Finding Nolan Novel #2) by K.S. Thomas

Before I begin this review, let me just say I have not read Lost Avalon (A Finding Nolan Novel #1), but I really don't need to. From what I had read of Secret Hudson, the two are different stories but connected and the drama of this installment is a far cry from the first. That said, this is a true stand-alone written masterfully by an author I am quite new to.

Royce Lemmi chose to stay in the public toilet closet for fear of rejection. That is the gist of it really. His staying in that proverbial closet did not make him a saint or a virgin either, but relationships were left on the wayside. He looked at Blaise and Ava's happy domesticity and dreamed that someday he may get there too but knew it was simply that: a dream. That is, until he stumbled into a little corner cafe and saw Hudson serving Ava her coffee laced with Nutella.

Hudson is an aspiring photographer and he was really good. To make ends meet and to help out his supportive but quirky artist of a mother, he was also the barrista to her cafe. Looking up into rocker Royce's eyes was a bit of a surprise. What comes out of Ava's mouth was even more for not only did she drop the 'f' words like punctuation marks, she also offered him a job he could not refuse.

As Royce and Hudson pair off, publicly they do their jobs: as guitarist and as band photographer. Privately, well they were getting to know each other and got entangled in a beautiful romance in front of the band members who really were happy for them. The only problem is Royce. He is unwilling to go public with their relationship and Hudson does not want to be the dirty little secret. Hudson had always been out and refuses to go into a closet. Even if it means breaking his heart.

This was a nice romantic read and the drama that brewed between the two men were really not that dramatic compared to what Derek was going through. But that is another story altogether. Romantically, these two men were the perfect fit exempting the closet issue. How Ava, Blaise and the rest of the band members try to make right for the two men made for an amusing but teary read. They were a family and they did what families do best: support each other unconditionally. The difference is that all of them made their own families way back when they were in high school and it is tight. Very tight.

It is this tightness that made this such an inspiring story, especially when Royce had to make a decision and choose whether to remain miserable for the rest of his life alone or to make Hudson his own.

KS Thomas is one of those authors that you just gravitate towards because her writing is so pure and she tends to put her entire heart and soul into the story she tells so the emotions that the characters portray come through to the reader and you just connect on such a level that you feel like you are going through all of their trials and tribulations with them every step of the way.

Book Two Secret Hudson I think has to be my favorite and its definitely hard to pick a favorite when your talking about the Nolan boys. But Royce and Hudson's story was so incredible and honestly who in the hell doesn't love two HOT guys I mean really and one of them is a ROCKSTAR and the other one is a PHOTOGRAPHER who also happens to be a BARISTA...UH SCORE! That means the hottie can make my coffee too! And he does make some magical coffee in this book and I swear I wish this man candy was real because I would seriously be just like Ava walking right on in without knocking on the door and sitting in those club chairs in the kitchen and having Hottie Hudson make me that famous Nutella coffee. (Awesome now I want some!) Seriously though this book was amazing I love how Royce has to grow and the struggles that he has to overcome to be with Hudson in this book it really drives a message to people today letting them know that its okay to be yourself and it honestly doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, it matters what you believe and who you love. The positivity and love that comes with this book honestly brings tears to your eyes and I really have a new found respect for KS Thomas and if and when I meet this lovely lady at book signing I hope to covey this to her because she is changing the world one word at a time with her messages she is putting in her stories and that my friends is what we writers are trying to do even if we can reach one person and make a difference our job is done. Congratulations KS Thomas on a fantastic job Secret Hudson was amazing I'm sending lots of hugs and kisses your way because this is one fabulous masterpiece!

While the first book in the Finding Nolan series, Lost Avalon, dealt with some pretty serious issues and had a lot of drama, I found Secret Hudson to be much more lighthearted, even though it covered its own complicated topics.

The banter between characters in this story was fantastic, and there was plenty to laugh about. I loved delving further into the Finding Nolan characters, and during Secret Hudson you feel like you're becoming even more ingrained in this family of friends. The addition of Kieran Hudson to the group as an interest for Royce just works so well, and his character complements Royce wonderfully.

As with almost every M/M romance I've read, this story--while funny and witty most of the time--was filled with plenty of emotion, especially given the fact that Royce is not out to anyone but the core Finding Nolan group...while Hudson doesn't hide. That scenario is usually a recipe for disaster at some point, and despite that overwhelming feelings they both have...well, something has to give somewhere.

The story is gripping, emotional, and powerful while still being quite humorous, and it will make you fall for both Royce and Hudson no matter what your gender. They're both insightful characters, which make for some strong feelings and intense scenes, and I have found that, of the first three books of this series, Secret Hudson is far and away my favorite.

5 intense and emotional stars for Secret Hudson, recommended for 18+ due to adult language and topics.

Second book in the Finding Nolan novels. Royce has been in the closet since he was a teen he had been bullied, and shunned from his family. As far as the world is concerned he the hot sexy bass player in the group Finding Nolan. He has had his flings but has never stayed in a relationship with a man for long. Until the day Ava and Royce duck into a coffee shop to escape paparazzi. Besides discovering what an fantastic cup of coffee the Kieran Hudson makes, Royce finds himself attracted to Kieran. Kieran can't believe Royce Lemmi is standing in his mothers store. He loved their music and thought Royce was sexy as hell. When the chance comes for him to be the photographer for a book on Finding Nolan and touring with them. It is just to good to pass up.

If you thought the first book in the series was good. This one just blew me away. I loved the humor. Royce doing the pee-pee dance just cracked me up. Kieran was never in the closet. it wasn't the way he was raised. Royce was afraid of how the world would take it if he came out of the closet. He doesn't want to lose Kieran because of it. But can he work through it and be who Kieran needs him to be. You still get quite a bit of the rest of the band so no withdraws there. Some drama with Derek and his marriage maybe he will get his story. Typical Ava and Blaise conversation. Angel still a manwhore. Doesn't get any better then this .

Eek! I was so excited to hear that the second book in the Finding Nolan series was coming out. I love this group of rockers-Blaise, Royce, Angel, Derek-they each bring their own unique personality to the group. Throw in the band manager, Ava, and they're a totally messed-up, completely lovable family. After reading Lost Avalon, it's obvious that Royce is the glue that holds them all together. In Secret Hudson, we find out that Royce doesn't think he's as strong as all the others believe he is. In walks Kieran Hudson and the cool, smooth, confident Royce starts to melt in his hand. Secret Hudson follows their budding relationship, the ups, the downs, and the HEA. I completely fell in love with both Royce and Hudson. Their relationship was so real and how Hudson made Royce learn to love himself as well. K.S. did an excellent job of setting up the rest of her series, that I'm anxiously awaiting the release of!

Wow! What an amazing follow-up to Lost Avalon!! This book is written so incredibly well!

This story revolves around sexy bass player Royce Lemmi who is hiding a pretty big secret from everyone but the members of his band, and best friend/manager Ava.

When Ava and Royce are on a coffee run first thing in the morning and run into paparazzi they escape into the nearest coffee shop and meet the extremely good looking coffee guy, Keiran Hudson. When Ava sees that Keiran is an amazing photographer she hires him on to be the bands photographer for their world tour.

As a relationship begins between Royce and Keiran, Royce makes some choices to keep his personal relationship hidden, damaging his relationship with Keiran.

With his friends, Blaise and Ava, by his side will Royce begin to love himself the way others do or will he lose another relationship due to the secrets he is afraid to share with the outside world.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. This is the second book in the Nolan series, and while I haven't read the first book I had no trouble follow the story arc.

The story was gripping, emotional, and powerful while still being really funny, and it will make you fall for both Royce and Hudson. They're both insightful characters, which make for some strong feelings

I loved the banter between all the characters in this story; it was fantastic. The love story is seen thru all the characters eyes and you get to really see how Royce and Hudson struggle to get thru all their past issues and insecurities.

K.S. Thomas has written a funny, and emotional story while still showing the fierce love and loyalty that is found in this "family" that was built on love.

I haven't read the first book in this series but I found I still liked this book alot. Instead of the typical out of control rock star this book actually has a fairly level headed MC. Although Royce is in the closet and it does cause some problems most of this book actually sets that issue aside to develop the relationship between Royce and Hudson. This was a nice sweet romance book for the most part with a cast of off the wall and colorful side characters.

Great cast of characters surround Royce and Hudson in this story! The band members are really like family and are always in each other's business, but it works! As far as Royce and Hudson, I thought they were great together. Can't wait to see Angel finally get his book!

This is the second book in the Finding Nolan series. Secret Hudson isnt as heavy as the first book but it does cover its own topics and demons that Royce and Hudson face.
