Daisuke Suwa is the ladies man of his small town high school, and he has his eye on mostly every girl, except for one. Hinako Aikawa isn't his type, but when he overhears a deep dark secret of hers, he finds himself thinking of her more and more.
We finally get to see what fully happened to Aikawa. It’s very sad. I think her mother just told him to leave but I wish he got arrested, or it showed him getting arrested.
Kazuki is very messed up for trying to lie that Daisuke tried r4ping her. I’m glad Aikawa and Daisuke’s sister stepped in before anyone else could show up and not believe him.

A good continuation that explores more what happened to Hinako before the events of the first novel. The characters also seem to transition more organically from one situation to another, instead of it feeling like forced storytelling as it was in the first one. Now the characters seem aligned with their given traits.
Characters a little too extreme in their behavior. Kazuki is slightly psychotic and possesive, she might turn out to be a serial killer when she grows up. Several chapters were hard to read, they were od Aikawa's past and her abuse. Aikawa deserves some happiness, she's scared but still living.
It has been a long time since I read this - and it is one of the very few manga I read online. My reason for reading this manga was that almost any manga I've read that included rape or abuse had reviews referring to this one stating that Bitter Virgin is a good example of realistic abuse. Now I cannot say that I have known anyone personally who has been a victim of abuse - and it is something I do not wish upon anyone - and I cannot even begin to imagine what one would be going through.
Nonetheless - Bitter Virgin did not convince me in the slightest. While it may sound harsh at first - it seemed over the top dramatic. I feel as though had the subject been handled more subtly, it would have been much more believable. It just had too many dramatic things and coincidences happening one right after the other. What are the chances, really, that the main male character would find out about his classmate's abusive situation by her mistaking him for a clergyman?
People react differently to things and yet it did not strike me as natural the way our female character handled her situation. The way she kept bringing herself down also just did not convince me. Once again - I do not think that one can 'overreact' to abuse - it is just the way that this specific story was told that it does not work for me. I find it hard to feel for a fictional character if I am unable to believe them. I guess the fact that many of the other characters were a bit odd and psychopathic only added to the 'over the top' feeling I had. I also did not like the art all that much.
One thing I do remember liking was that the ending turned out to be sweet and - at least for that I can agree - it came across as realistic.
So I finished reading this like a few minutes ago and it was all right. For the overall series, I give it two stars.
I gave it two stars because there wasn't anything like really amazing about it. It was just Okay. Plus, I didn't really like the art that much.
The ending was really cheesy. The characters were really cheesy. The whole concept of the story was kind of sad but nothing really made it original. Which could have made it better, if it had something to the plot that made it the same cliche but with a good twist.
So yeah, I think that the overall series could have been better. Though, there were some events in the story that really stood out to me. I'm not gonna point them out because this is supposed to be a spoiler-free review, so... yeah. :D
So Kriss and Andi(my brothers), it wasn't that amazing as you thought. Oh, and while we're on this topic, you guys need to read more of a variety of books. :P
Art is fine. Story is great. I read it when I was in highschool and reread it a few days ago but it still emits an aura of self-realization. WORLD is not that great at all, it alone. But the people living in it somehow give the world a color. Pain, Misery, Agony, Fear, Hate, Happiness, Joy and Love are just few of the many things that makes the world interesting.
This manga when I read it made me cry. I cried without knowing I actually did. I did not know because MAYBE I am thinking that I was not impressed but somehow the other part of me felt the intensity of the character’s situation. This was actually a drama story that simply captivates and hurts your heart without penetrating the body.
Before you read it, cast aside all your expectation and lock yourself inside the little room built by the author, that way you will be able to open your mind and heart. CHEERS!
