I have heard that vinegar was considered to be a great natural remedy for a variety of ailments. My mother-in-law had this book and was telling me all about it so I downloaded it and read it. I found it interesting. If it does even a fraction of what they claim, it would be a good idea to include vinegar in your diet. It wasn't a perfect book with it's repetition but still I found it informative and it includes recipes which is a bonus in my opinion.

Informative book on vinegar. I have been using apple cider vinegar for years, but there was some new information in this book.

I am so glad that I am an owner of this educational and entertaining book about the world's oldest remedy potion, The Healing Powers of Vinegar, by Cal Orey. Cal writes the history in an easy to understand style and presents the scientific data with self-explanatory charts and simple language. I, now, drink six full glasses of water on ice daily, three of which have two tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar. The boost in energy and temperate mood I experience since drinking this simple, inexpensive concoction may be anecdotal but only I, the consumer, can judge such a difference.

The book talks about the array of uses, internally and externally, for the variety of vinegar that exists in the world today. Applications that will settle stomachs for some and clear mirrors and glasses for all are just a couple of examples. One fascinating story in vinegar's history takes place during the days of The Plague, which wiped out so many throughout Europe. Four robbers stole valuables off of the dead bodies without contracting the extremely contagious disease. The robbers doused themselves with vinegar before they daringly confiscated their booty. Even the ancient Greeks looked at vinegar as an antibiotic.

The end of the book, which is worthy of shelving near the kitchen, is full of tasty, healthful recipes. I use a particular vinegar with extra virgin olive oil and garlic in place of butter and salt when I cook vegetables, now. I find them palatable but I may reduce the amounts of these enhancements to taste the natural flavors of the fresh vegetables. I recommend this book to anyone for the sheer multitude of uses that vinegar offers.

Enjoy the Healing powers of Vinegar: The Complete Guide to Nature's Most Remarkable Remedy, a book that puts you on a healthy path to a better life. This little book holds the potent key to consuming vinegar in the most healthiest way. Of course, they are recipes here I will try and encourage others to partake of.

A well-ordered book to boost your energy level as well as your meatabolism!!

I now try to drink one shot glass of ORGANIC apple cider vinager every morning. The trick is to coat your throat with honey first and have as drink handy for afterwards. At one point in my life my arthritis was so bad in my C2 vertebre of my neck that I could not even turn my neck to look at the railroad tracks for a train, and I live right by one and would cross them 2 -3 times everyday. It not only helped with that problem, but while I was taking it, I noticed I was losing weight too! What am added bonus.

This is one you can't really finish because it's full of recipes for food, cleaning...everything. I love vinegar and love it even more now that I've read about some of it's specific benefits. The past couple of days I've even gagged down 2 tablespoons in the AM and PM, so apparently it's also very motivating...:)

Many too many claims without support in science. If you like folklore, this is it. If you like imprecision, this is it as well. No real guidance on how or why to consume vinegar. Some admonition against harming teeth.

Would have been good in the 1960s, but not today. Kept waiting to get "there," but I never found any "there" there. No real clinical trials. If there are none, that should be disclosed.

If, however, recipes are what is wanted, you will find them here, in abundance. Recommend using this book for cooking and baking ideas, but not for science or nutrition.

By the way, the name Cal Orey is puzzling. This has to be a nom de plume.

I discovered this gem in a library years ago. Unfortunately, it was out-of-print; I promised myself that I would find one in a resale shop no luck!

Years passed; suddenly I found a newly revised version in a local store; I couldn't get the book home fast enough. This edition is even better than the one I saw in the library; the author has added many recipes.

This book is practical and easy to use. Some of the bits of help:

- How vinegar helps in weight loss
- How vinegar helps in digestion
- How vinegar can be used with pets
- Using vinegar as a cleaning product.

This is an excellent reference that I will refer to often. I had been reading it and stopped for some reason. I am so glad I picked it back up to finish. Cal Orey, the author, made it an interesting read.

Horrible! - The author repeats himself frequently, uses poor evidences, and must never have used an editor. Waste of time.

My grandmother has always advocated vinegar as a cure for most of life's troubles. I clean with it these days quite often. The book was fun, though I don't think I'll be trying much of what it suggests.

Practical advise. Basic recipes that were quite uninspiring. I love vinegar, and this book gave me more ways to clean with it and cook with it.
