Big on Christmas
Born to free-spirited, convention-shucking parents, Cassie Newman thirsts for normal. Leaving L.A. with a secret, she finds herself in Woodstock, Vermont – a town rich with Christmas tradition. This is the first novella in the Twelve Brides of Christmas.
A short and cute novella about finding love in a small town.
Cassie Newman has moved to Woodstock to gain some anonymity. She prefers to lay low and live her life out of the limelight. In order to achieve this, she thinks that moving to a small town is the best way. She starts working for Stennett's Hardware and after a few months, she starts falling for her boss.
Luke Stennett has a lot on his plate. He's trying to keep the store afloat while dealing with his father's mental condition and also still grieving the loss of his mother. He also found out his parents were keeping a huge secret from him. The last thing he needs is a romantic relationship. Or is it?
I liked both Cassie and Luke. They were great together. Their chemistry was off the charts. They had a strong connection. I also love how patient Cassie was with Luke's dad and how sweet Luke was in general.
This novella is so easy to read and enjoy. It makes me want to read the rest in the series.

Luke Stennett, and who wouldn't be? A hunky hardware store owner with more on his plate than Thanksgiving dinner keeps giving her the eyes, even if he is her boss. Cassie is hiding from her real life back in LA and has found the little Vermont town to be more like home than anyplace else she has ever been. She wasn't a partridge in a pear tree kind of girl though, or was she?
This is a short read, so I can't give too much away, but let me say three things, wassail, hot, & sexy. 'nuff said? Absolutely charming! Big on Christmas will put you in a holiday mood no matter what time of year it is. I loved Cassie's creativity and vulnerability, and Luke won me over with his steadfast commitment to his father as well as the need to do the right thing with his employee, Cassie. This story was just the right length for an pleasant evening's read.

Going outside your comfort zone: Big On Christmas (Twelve Brides Of Christmas: Book one) by Jan Romes
From LA to Vermont, can Cassie start a new life in this dreamy winter town? Jan Romes does it again, a true romantic writer. I live hours from this setting, so it was another reason to love this story. This was a sweet, fun book, I read it at the perfect time of year, Christmas time. Cassie gets a job in the local hardware store where Luke Stennett is her boss, she thinks she's falling for Luke, she also knows she shouldn't, he's her boss after all. Luke has his own problems as does Cassie. Will they overcome these problems and find peace in each other arms? Read this wonderful book to find out.
