After escaping a life that nearly broke her, Dominique Dupont is finally free and living a life she once believed wasn’t possible. Robyn Diamont’s strength and resilience were shaped by a past she rarely speaks of—a past that shaped her into a woman capable of loving deeply, despite everything she has endured. But freedom doesn’t erase scars, and love doesn’t silence the echoes of trauma.
As Dominique and Robyn begin to build a life together, past wounds and painful truths threaten to fracture the fragile peace they’ve found. And as external pressures mount, the bond they’ve forged—born from survival and fate—faces its greatest tests.
In the end, will love be enough for them to choose each other, and to overcome everything that life has in store for them? Or are there some things that not even love can survive?
Emotional masterworks! Both books are simply extraordinary.
The main characters are complex, beautifully imperfect and impossibly endearing. All are navigating through emotionally charged tapestry of self discovery, domestic violence, political injustice, and emotional and physical abuse. Yet through all the trials and manipulations there is love. Undying, breathtaking love. Amazing writing! 5 stars without a doubt!!
SVT once again takes us on a roller coaster, with twists that I could totally see in TV shows. At the start of the book, I was like: okay, now that they are in love, how will they overcome their issues from book 1? Not only did SVT throw sticks and stones on their path, but at some point, she threw some giant rocks with thorns on them, keeping readers on their toes. The book is the perfect illustration of women fighting for themselves, for other women, and for resilience. I said Robyn was a bit too perfect in book 1, and I was happy to see a more human and vulnerable side of her, even if she is still Wonder Woman. I just think the book could have been shorter, with a honeymoon phase that was a bit too long for my taste, and characters gushing over the strength of their love for each other in a way that was a bit too repetitive for my personal taste.I know I am a joy killer, but what I like most is when characters have to fight for the relationship. So when SVT kicked me in the guts, then added some extra kicks when I was down, I was so happy. Overall, it was a really good conclusion for Robyn and Dominique, with good twists and a strong message for women. But be prepared; sadistic SVT made sure they had to earn their HEA. Robyn and Dominique might be my favorite characters that SVT has written.
I don’t have the words to do this book, (or The Echoes of Her Silence, the first in the duology), justice. All I can say is that I highly recommend the 2 books and hope that, like me, you feel the depth of the love these characters have for one another and are inspired to stand together.
TRIGGER WARNING: please take care while reading as there are depictions of violence and SA against women
As much as I loved the Meant to Be series, this series blew it out of the water. I loved the characters, the relationships between them. It drew me in from start to finish. I'm looking forward to more books by Skye Von Triessen.
In the wake of her divorce from an abusive husband, Dominique embraces a fresh start with Robyn, but the shadow of her ex still looms nearby, complicating their newfound happiness. Unlike the first book, this instalment is sizzling with passion, featuring many hot sexy scenes between Dominique and Robyn. I have to admit, I found myself skipping a few of those moments—not because I'm a prude, but because I was more engrossed in the unfolding story of these two captivating women.
As Dominique and Robyn work diligently to create a life together, it feels like they're finally getting a second chance at love. However, the path to healing is anything but straightforward. Both women confront their past traumas and face external pressures that challenge the strength of their relationship.
This book is a beautifully written, emotionally compelling journey that kept me turning the pages late into the night. It was impossible to resist reading it in one sitting!
Giving book 2 the same rating as book 1. While the spice level was great, the dialogue was incredibly redundant and unrealistic. It felt very forced. I struggled to get into these books, but gave book 2 a shot after seeing other reviews. Not for me.
Skye Von Triessen + Abby Craden, what more do you need?
The Gravity of Her Love was everything I wanted (and needed!) and then some. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Von Triessen has this incredible way of blending trauma, resilience, and romance so it feels raw, hopeful, and deeply human all at once. I gladly lost sleep over this book because I was completely pulled into Dominique and Robyn’s journey. A lot happens in their story, but it never once felt unrealistic or over the top. It all unfolded in a way that made sense for who they are and what they’ve lived through.
As a Black Jamaican bisexual woman myself, Robyn’s conflict with going back to Jamaica, especially given the country’s stance on the LGBTQIA+ community, struck me in a deeply personal way. There were moments where I just sat still and listened because the writing and storytelling were that good, that honest, that close to home.
I also loved how the book centres around women’s rights, explores intergenerational trauma and abuse with truth and compassion, and doesn’t shy away from showing how corrupt politics shapes people’s lives, particularly those who are marginalised. There’s so much depth here, but it never feels heavy for the sake of it. It feels purposeful.
The passion, the romance, and most of all the SPICE! All of it was devourable. Exciting, grounded, intimate, and always rooted in the connection between these two women. I loved that the latter part of the book focused exclusively on them and their evolution as a couple.
Abby Craden’s narration (as always!) deserves its own shoutout. She brings such emotional depth, clarity, humour and warmth to the story that it genuinely enhances the listener experience. Her performance makes the quiet moments deeply intimate and the intense moments feel even more alive.
I don’t know how Skye Von Triessen does it. I only have praise for this book. I felt everything listening to it. Laughter, curiosity, frustration, sadness, lust, excitement, pride. What a powerful story! One I can’t wait to revisit.
Another brilliant and emotionally rich work from Skye Von Triessen! I’ve always admired the way she crafts her words, ever since the first book of hers that I read, the Meant to Be series. Her writing has always been empowering, and encouraging for women and for the people.
In this book, I felt so happy for Dominique, it was satisfying to see her finally find happiness after the trauma she endured in the first book. As for Robyn, seeing her vulnerable side made me appreciate her even more as the brave, resilient young woman whom I know from the previous book. I enjoyed the story, even with Dominique’s family and Henri causing occasional frustration, until the breakup scene happened.
I must admit that I didn’t like the breakup, not because it was sad, but because it made me feel frustrated. I struggle with breakups where one person decides what’s best for both, and this one particularly irked me. I was upset with Dominique and had to pause for a moment to gather myself. They are a team, so why did she feel the need to decide for both of them? I truly tried to understand her reasoning, and while I do see her perspective, it wasn’t enough to prevent my annoyance. I felt they could have communicated and thought things through more carefully, instead of sacrificing so much for a decision that, to me, didn’t effectively justify it.
It was painful to read. And what’s more, the next scenes.
Of all the books I’ve read by the author, I have to say this one stirred the widest range of emotions in me. That’s why, before diving in, I would strongly recommend taking the trigger warnings more seriously and reading with care. Even so, it remains one of the most meaningful reads I’ve ever experienced.
And don’t worry about the ending. This time, it’s not like the first book, which left a few other things unresolved. The author gave the characters the closure they deserved, and gave us readers the satisfying HEA we’ve been hoping for.

Everything started with “a kind of deception” when I discovered Skye’s marvellous books. We/ I often say you do not find books, they find you in a way there were “meant to be” landing between your hands. They push you to reflect in this case on the psychology of a couple, believe in “ unexpected fate” that reshuffle your thoughts as Skye leads you with her beautiful writing to corners you did not see coming especially with her 2 last books. Her books kept me awake until late at night almost like “an unexpected affair” where you cannot let go of her book until you finally find out “if it’s meant to be “ or not. To be or not to be “ When we are meant to be” is quite a ride, an emotional one when Skye paint it with her story telling skills. Her emotional intelligence mainly “echoes of her silence” leads you to sentinel any new novels she publishes as it states clearly “The gravity of her love” for books and how she enjoys sharing her fruitful imagination with us with her talented and classy manners. I absolutely loved the journey she took us via her 8 novels and her last one kept me grasping for air !!!! Brace for impact as she will definitely keep your heart pulse quite high in her last novel!!! Skye, keep entertaining us with your marvellous mind and soul!!
I really think that you need to read both books in this duo, so I’m reviewing them like that. Firstly, I much preferred this duo over the author’s ‘Meant to Be’ trio. In particular, she has moved away from the anatomical impossibilities of sapphic sex that she described in those books. This is an age gap romance spanning several years and set in Canada, France and Jamaica. I’m usually not too fond of age gap romances (especially with such a big gap as there is here) but for some reason, this didn’t really bother me. Whilst these are a bit of a slushfest, there was sufficient incident and drama to keep the interest. Nice side characters added to this - Dominique’s friend Elise and Robyn’s Mia and Chidera are all great. There’s also one particular character to loathe! There is a break up and angst section in book 2, but events overtake that and it becomes more important to deal with the bind Robyn finds herself in, rather than to extend that section. That was something of a relief! All in all, these two books together delivered in terms of the length and the quality of the writing and I enjoyed them.
This is a truly wonderful follow up to book one in the series. Sometimes I think I shouldn't enjoy emotional books like this one as we confront difficult topics. Abuse of power, corrupt manipulation to hurt others, homophobic slurs, but on the other hand, this book points out the worth of fighting back in the face of such prejudice with the power of love winning out. The two main characters just draw you in, they are totally in love despite the odds, of course things don't go smoothly and you cry for them to succeed, they have wonderful friends to help them. There's intrigue throughout the story that leads to a clever twist, very 🔥 🔥 love scenes, and characters that you could just slap some sense into. Situations featured here do occur far to much in the real world with sadly tragic endings, despite many authorities trying to find a solution, unfortunately there will always be people who feel they have a right to control others, it's rife in all communities.
This storyline was compact and terrible but beautifully realistic at times with these MCs for this second book in the series because there was so much happening. In the mist of their spicy love continuing to blossom their life was being tested all at the same time at so many different moments to the point I got so irritated because things just kept coming at them and I felt like I could feel their frustration as soon as they were settled and trying to just live and be happy Henri, someone or something would show up. The rise and fall then middle and rise through the fire was a captivating part of this book. The strength of Robyn and Dominique was phenomenal especially together they were just made for each other. The narration of course was amazing just like the first book with all the diverse characters and the voices were spot on. The last chapter which I would consider the epilogue was heartwarming and amazing I was definitely satisfied with it. This was such a good listening experience. 10s across the board!
Wow! Okay Skye you got me! You took my emotions all over in Book 1 and now I feel raw. Emotionally exhausted. The finishing of this story brought us full circle with every emotion that we have imaginable, out and on display. This story of Dominique & Robyn from “The Echoes Of Her Silence” and “The Gravity Of Her Love” was such a powerful reminder of just how the world sees women. Each country has a narcissist in their mist. A disrespect for women whether lesbian, straight, black, white, foreigner. The books simple message “Fight Back” whether physically or vocally. A need to let the world know we won’t stay silent anymore. Two women who love each other so much it hurts, who just want to be together and live. This story was composed yet vulnerable. Our two stars earning awards with the supporting cast there to lift them up. Thank You Skye Von Triessen. Our applause for a story well written and well presented.
The Gravity of Her Love is a beautifully written and deeply moving story about love, healing, resilience, and the family we choose. The emotional journey that is both heartbreaking and hopeful, with characters who will stay with readers long after the final chapter. Paired with Abby Craden's exceptional narration, the audiobook is an unforgettable experience. Her heartfelt performance adds even more depth and emotion to an already powerful story, making it difficult to press pause. If you're looking for an emotional romance with incredible character development, a captivating storyline, and one of the best audiobook performances out there, The Gravity of Her Love is one I highly recommend.
Please note that the story contains an attempted sexual assault as well as discussions of violence against women.

I have read many books and I always review because I know how important and helpful it is for the author. I am hoping my review of this book will be important and helpful for readers. I truly believe everyone should read this series-the intense emotions that Skye’s words evoke is truly an incredible piece of writing! I cried a lot, I screamed a lot and by the end of the book I wished there were more pages! Alot of those pages hit close to home for me but that did not stop me from reading more-if you haven’t read Skye’s book I would recommend starting with this series-and then run and read her other books! Her talent is evident in every page of every single book she has written! 5 ⭐️
Powerful, earth shattering but Inspiring Beautiful Romance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌈
Skye V. T. Wrote a Masterpiece! I definitely recommend it. I also think it’s so good it should be make into a Movie or series. A very realistic story that happens to many women, but love conquers All! I have a million feelings happening here after reading this series, all good feelings at the end. Love, drama, sexy scenes, incredible friends, resilience also powerful Narcissistic and abusive family members. This particular story it’s not the typical romance, but it’s spectacularly written and you end up standing Up and applauding Skye Von Triessen for daring to write such difficult subjects and making it in to her BEST WORK! I don’t usually read many books about this kind of subjects because not everyone knows how to write them and you end up feeling not happy or weird. But Skye…. She is The Best 💫💫💫💫💫🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌈 Give your self a gift by reading. “ The Echoes of her Silence and The Gravity of her Love “ to be Inspired by Love .
This book was difficult to read—not because it lacked substance or quality, but because it was raw, unflinchingly real, deeply emotional, and achingly beautiful.
As a woman, a Latina, a lesbian, and someone who was once an 18-year-old runaway who faced an attempted sexual assault, this story resonated with me in ways I didn’t expect. It gave me something I didn’t even realize I needed.
The author has an extraordinary gift for making you feel every emotion on the page. The characters embody strength and love so vividly that you feel it deep in your core.
I can’t fully capture in words what this book has meant to me, but I can say this: thank you for writing it, and for sharing it with the world.
I wondered where this book would go given that their relationship seemed so solid at the end of the prior book, but Skye Von Triessen did something I didn’t expect - she turned to external problems (exacerbated by a “Third act breakup”) to take this couple on a journey that make them stronger together than apart.
And the ending? The resolution to this external problem? Let’s just say that it’s a mirror to how things began in the first book. When you read it, you’ll know what I mean.
This was an excellent two book series that I heartily recommend to anyone who enjoys Sapphic age gap romances.
I thoroughly enjoy your books Skye. There is always so much depth and emotion in your books. I feel it seeping from every page. I feel a part of it in how well it is written, I am drawn in every time. It makes me realize that there are so many women and young girls in the world that are struggling to lead their lives how they want to without feeling disrespected or with the threat of abuse. Although your book is one I struggled to put down for so many reasons, it pulled at my heart strings so many times. Please carry on writing such great quality. I admire your work! Jillian.
The Survivor series by Skye Von Triessen is well written, engaging and a reminder that love is not always easy but worth it in the end. Dominique, while a Prime Minister’s ex-wife, is a well developed character that is relatable, warm, and masters the sophisticated/down to earth balance to where she is one of my favorite protagonists. Robyn is someone that has diversities and a background that makes her relatable and likable. The connection between these two characters is undeniable and magnetic leaving you hoping they figure out how to be together in the end. A must read!
No one but Skye is able to thoughtfully demonstrate the intricate complexities of a challenging, yet undeniably unwavering love connection. Our two FMC's are dauntless and undeterred despite the many obstacles they have had to face in the pursuit of their love.
How invigorating it has been to journey alongside such valiant warriors.
Thank you Skye for creating and highlighting such women. They exist within many of us. Thank you for allowing them liberation, and as always, thank you for allowing us to witness such a profound and devastatingly tantalizing love.
A truly beautiful conclusion to Robyn and Dominique’s story. The emotions leaped off the page and kept me in a vice grip the entire time. You can truly feel the love, the grief, the heartbreak, the hope, the perseverance, and every word in between. It hurts to leave these characters, but I’m happy I was able to experience their story.
I don’t do it often, but I know I will reread this story in the future.
Skye your books keeps me believing that there is love out there for anyone and everyone I downloaded this book since it came out but did not want to read it too soon because then that means that after reading i will have ro look for something else to read but once again it captured my attention so keep going I have read them and awaiting more keep writing thanks for sharing
A really good sequel in my opinion but I will say the big breakup and the reasoning for it pissed me the hell off…like literally I had to put the book down for a little bit. The breaking up because one character thinks she’s doing what’s best for the other is so infuriating!! It all worked out thankfully but ugh I was mad. Again the story was very good, Henri makes a great bad guy and I was so rooting for something worse to happen to him. Definitely good spice and a HEA for the win.

I’ve read other books by the author and liked them. Loved this series! Character development was perfect. The theme was important but I believe the Sapphic community is quite aware of these types of behavior. Wish more of the hetero world would agree. The length of the 2 book series could have been too much but it didn’t feel that way for me. I found the story moving and emotional. It was hard to put down and go to sleep.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this book was almost too in-your-face. The man-hating got old fast, and the repeated monologues about why queer women are oppressed felt more like reading someone’s political rant than a novel. I got the connection between the corrupt government and current events in the U.S., but it was so on-the-nose that it became distracting. I prefer when a book trusts the reader to connect the dots themselves.
I usually give every book I read 5 stars because they all have been great books. However, if I could I would give this series 100 stars. It is such a great book. I have read a couple of books by this author and can't wait for others to come out. If you are into a great love story with great heat this is your series and author!
