One cozy fall festival + one magical mishap = one grumpy werewolf who’s now stuck with me… forever?
When I whisper my three secret desires to the wishing well, I never expect my magic to kick in and screw up epically! With one coin toss, I’m bound to Rune, the hunky werewolf who makes wishes at the same time.
Now people in my small town expect me to judge the pumpkin carving contest (have they met me? I don’t have an artistic bone in my body), while he gets to create the town’s hay maze (it’s not like I’ve tried to win that honor for years or anything). Worse? Everyone expects me to protect the town from mischievous fae (newsflash: so not my skill set) and begs him for handmade pumpkin spice latte soap (you got it—soap’s totally my thing).
The only way to untangle ourselves is to work together and make all our wishes come true.
Should be simple, right? Wrong. Because the third wish I made, the one that’s still secret? It’s to find true love. The more time I spend with Rune, the more his touch makes me melt, and an answering heat burns in his eyes. But are his feelings real or just another magical mix-up?
. Wishing for a Werewolf is a cozy spicy fantasy romance featuring a grumpy werewolf with a primal side, a sunshiny witch eager to lead him on a merry chase, a mischievous talking mini-goat familiar, an obsession with freckles, and a cozy fall season that wraps around you like a warm, cinnamon-scented hug.
Welcome to Ferndale Falls, the magical small town full of mischievous imps and talking animal familiars, where heart-melting romance, toe-curling spice, humor, magic, and low-stakes adventure combine into stories you’ll devour.
Krista Luna writes spicy fantasy and paranormal romance featuring otherworldly men and the strong women they can’t live without. She loves combining sizzling romance with thrilling adventure, laugh-out-loud humor, and cozy found families full of best friends and talking animals.
When she’s not writing, you can find Krista reading or watching her latest fantasy or scifi favorite, all while eating chocolate. Because there’s always chocolate.
Okay but… did Krista Luna just spoil us rotten with this book? Because holy howl, this isn’t just cozy—it’s cozy and completely unhinged in the best primal, toe-curling, “hello dual-form” kind of way.
Rune is the grumpy, growly werewolf of my cinnamon-scented dreams—broad, brooding, built, and blessed with multiple… options. 😏 When his primal side comes out to play? Game. Over. There is growling. There is chasing. There is claiming. And I’m not saying the dual-form scene ruined me, but it runed me.
Meanwhile, our sunshine witch? An absolute delight. Her chaotic, flirty energy mixed with Rune’s dominant, stoic hunger? That’s what I call spellbinding tension.
There is just so much heat packed into this pumpkin-spice fantasy that I was clutching my bath bomb and rethinking everything I ever wished for.
So yes, I’ll say it: Krista Luna gave us a full serving of smutty fall fantasy magic with second-helpings of spice and soul. Wishing for a Werewolf is fun, freaky, and flat-out phenomenal.
If you’re looking for the 🍂PERFECT🍁 fall read… this is the book for you. Autumn and Rune were giving each other ~looks~ in Faking with the Fae King and I was very excited to hear they were next!
From start to finish, this book gave me happy and cozy fall vibes. It made me want to participate in everything they were doing, ESPECIALLY the maze and pumpkin carving. And Halloween night??? Gilmore Girls levels of envy. Also, Babybelle is the CUTEST little chaos monster.
If you haven’t read Krista Luna before I beg of you to begin your journey!!!
“My fire, you are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. You’re the fire tempting me to burn. And I’m ready. I’ll burn with you.”
“He’s so handsome in his fae form that I never imagined I’d be equally attracted to the werewolf. But I am. I really, really effing am.”
“I’ve never been able to just be with someone like this and have it feel so easy, so right. It’s better than the best yoga session ever.”
If you're looking for a cozy paranormal read, Wishing for a Werewolf is definitely going to check all your boxes. I loved the chemistry between the two MCs and all the quirky characters that just make you want all their stories. Just loving this latest series!
This reads like it was written by a computer trying to recreate peak 2010s tumblr talk. Which could be fun if it wasn't so soulles and mindnumbingly dull 🤦🏻♀️
This was an absolute giggle, feet kick, swoon fest! It was a joy to read from start to finish and is going on my comfort reads shelf. It was like a little jolt of happiness paired with a cozy blanket & a warm hug.
Autumn is a human who recently found out she is a witch and she really wants to find her person.
Rune is a werewolf who recently moved to Earth and he really wants to find his true mate.
Their paths first crossed when he came to earth to be bodyguard for her friend. Then she makes a wish in the wishing well, magic gets sparked and they are drawn to each other. Then things get a bit muddled and they are forced to work together. Oh no! What will these gorgeous people do with all this time together? (Fluff. They are gonna fluff. And it is amazing!) Delightful deliciousness ensues.
Autumn is a freaking delight! She is so sweet & caring and is such a good business person with such clever ideas. And she is also awkward & dorky at times. And when h×rny Autumn comes out to play? Too good!
Rune is what dreams are made of. Not dreams I would tell my mother about but still, good dreams. He is a strong, protective male who is absolute sweetness & goo on the inside. He wants to give his people the best and make sure the next generation are able to live as they were meant to.
These two are fire. I love them. I could have read another thousand pages of doing the most mundane things and been happy doing so. They were delightful.
Cannot wait for more Ferndale Falls stories!
I really enjoy Krista's writing. My brain loves how the words & stories flow and that it isn't impossible to keep track of characters. And my soul loves how cozy and joy-filled the stories are.
Highly recommend!
I received this as an ARC and you can rest assured that this had no influence on my review. This baby is all based on my very own thoughts & feelings.
good! really liked Rune - excited for more Ferndale Falls
I really liked Rune! I was wanting to see how the werewolf adapted to human form, especially after meeting him in the other series and in the first book of ferndale when he’s hired to watch Hannah.
This was a super fluffy and cute rom com and the plot was focused on the town fall festival events and the main couple interacting. Krista is really good about world building and details for that.
I did like Autumn’s familiar, babybelle - but I felt like there was so much goat related antics that it got old lol So sometimes I had to skim some parts when it felt like it dragged a bit or hung onto a scene too long.
This is more personal preference, but I did wish that the spicy scenes were a bit longer or more detailed than “he slammed it in” and it’s the biggest thing she’s ever seen or had inside her — like sir, that’s gonna take some time…. Not to mention the scene with the knot 🪢 is usually very quick to be over with, despite it being somewhat of a focus or repeatedly mentioned leading up to said event.
Let me just say - I can’t wait to read about Shadow/Kayla & Luke/Skye just because I need the boys to find their witchy counterparts. ;)
I also love getting snippets from the other witches and their partners since it’s a nice call back to previous books that I’ve read - especially Severin and Hannah (they’re my favorite)
This is just the most delightful and endearing book - I loved the characters, I loved the full on fall vibes, I ADORED Babybelle, and the small town vibes blended with fae magic just makes for a great story and setting!
Ferndale Falls is a small town that has become an epicenter for all magical creatures, fae, shifters, orcs, you name it. There are also adorable tulips and now pumpkins that run around town. And the best animal familiars you could ask for. This one especially is the perfect fall and October read since Autumn and Rune have to work together to pull off setting up and holding a couple seasonal events in town.
If you're a fan of grumpy men who are new to having human form, literally the cutest and sweetest pygmy goat you will ever meet, instant attraction and chemistry with a FMC who is a newly discovered witch, and if you love a primal chase scene, then this is the book for you!
I cannot wait for more in this series - yesss bring on the book nerd dragon!
I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I knew that Rune was going to be my favorite Krista Luna character when he was first introduced, so it comes as no surprise to me that I adored this book. I have a major soft spot for grumpy guys with hearts of gold and am a major ho for all things werewolf, so it was pretty much a given! However what I didn’t expect (although foolish to think now considering I love Krista’s writing style so much) was how swoonworthy and heart-felt Wishing for a Werewolf was. There are so many Rune lines I wish I could share with you because I loved them so much, so many highlights were my heart swelled! And its not just the heart of the book, Krista really hits the right notes in terms of humor when a lot of books marketed as romcoms don’t. I was cackling at Autumn’s internal dialogue (especially about the forearms, because girl, same!), the incredibly adorable Baybelle’s antics, and the shenanigans that the pups got up to.
I wish I were feeling better to go on and on about all the things I love about the book, but unfortunately I’m not, so I’ll have to cut my usual wordy self short. The important thing to take away here is, the book was amazing and I highly recommend this second installment in the Ferndale Falls Forever series. The entire book feels like a warm hug on a cool fall day, which is everything that I needed right now. 🥰
.
PS For my fellow werewolf hos — yes, bipedal fun times. The chase scene is, imo, one of Krista’s hottest scenes to date! And of course you know she’s gonna hook us up with the fancy equipment to boot! 😉
This is one of my FIRST 5 out of 5 stars! I love Krista Luna's work! I absorbed everything she writes and this was no exception. I jumped at the chance to the ARC of this book.
I can say that Krista outdid herself on this one. When we were first introduced to Rune. I was smitten. I don't need anything else when "werewolf" is involved. Rune has ruined me entirely. He is absolute perfection! His love and passion for Autumn is just so pure. I loved diving into this world.
If a portal opens up for Faerie and Ferndale Falls....my bags are already packed. For now, I'm going back to daydreaming about Rune. 😍
I liked the characters, Babybelle was very funny, and the kids acted like kids. There were way too many witches, and at some point I lost track of them. Autumn was an interesting character, but she rarely listens to people. That could have been an intentional character flaw, except it’s never acknowledged by anyone and Autumn doesn’t really grow from it. There were some moments when her thoughts were kind of chaotic, and at first I thought it might be because the author was trying to portray her as neurodivergent, but that wasn’t consistent throughout the book. Rune was very consistent, though, and his motivations were pretty clear. It bothered me that the way to know if Autumn was Rune's fated mate was to knot her. That, to me, reduces the fated bond to a mere sexual attraction, like everything else doesn’t matter. And makes Rune seem very oblivious, since all the other signs were there and he’s still hesitant. I mean, no one else had even made his knot appear, he’s been attracted to her from day one, and still he can’t tell? Another thing that bothered me was the whole “operation Event Binder” ordeal. It was very unnecessary, and it all happened just because Autumn can’t seem to listen to other people tell her she’s wrong. And her friends enable this. I mean, she’s known magic exists for a couple months, but doesn’t believe the guy who grew with it around him when he tells her she cast a spell? She saw the magic happen, for chrissake! She felt it, too! But she can’t accept that and we have two chapters of them pulling some sort of “heist” only to be back exactly where they started, and solve the problem with a five minute conversation. And that’s not the only time Autumn doesn’t listen to what other people say. The whole “I don’t know if what Rune feels is real” stuff was stupid, and, again, solvable with a simple conversation if only she had listened to what the experts in magic say when they claim magic can’t make people feel things they don’t feel, only enhance what’s already there. Another thing is that it’s supposed to be a standalone, but not really. You have to have read at least the first book on the series, and, having read some of the Brides of the Moon Clan orc romances, reading that wouldn’t hurt either. There were a lot of things that are not explained here that I can only assume were explained in the first book, and some things I was able to piece together because I read the other series. Overall, it was entertaining, I liked the writing style, and I might pick some other books by this author in the future.
🔥 “Burn for me, my fire.” ~~~ Autumn is amazing! She’s sweet, caring, compassionate and fun. Even more, she’s very hardworking and always willing to help friends and family. And I absolutely adored her creativity, her fiery personality and sass. (And hørny Autumn brings the awesomeness on a whole new level!) Autumn is an absolute delight of a woman and I loved her so, so much!
And then, there’s Rune - a mouthwateringly gorgeous werewolf who will have you totally swooning! Rune is big, strong, irresistibly charming and fiercely protective. Even more, I loved how much he cared for his people and his determination and eagerness to learn so he can give them the best lives. Yes, Rune might be a bit grumpy at first sight, but underneath his growly facade is a male with a huge heart. And he’s quite the talented artist, too. Rune is one absolutely remarkable male and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Autumn and Rune! They’ve been eyeing each other for a while but neither took a step further. Until they were bound by the three wishes they made at the same time at the Wishing Well. But… there's an unexpected magical twist - their secret desires get swapped and now they need to work together to make their wishes come true. And when you throw a fall festival, witches, fae and a mischievous mini-goat familiar in the mix, the result is pure chaos and absolute fun!
Autumn and Rune together were absolute fire! Their chemistry was incredible and I adored their banters and teasing. Every moment they spent together was an absolute delight to read. Even more, I loved how Autumn and Rune helped and supported each other in all their endeavours. And when they gave into the undeniable attraction… Oh, it was definitely SPICY and I couldn’t get enough of all the naughty, primal and knotty delight. Autumn and Rune were absolutely perfect for each other and truly deserved to find happiness and love together.
Overall, Wishing for a Werewolf is a fun, cozy and delightfully naughty story and another spectacular addition to the series.
I couldn’t put it down and I absolutely loved every single page of it!
After reading a book that was heavily laden with deeply harrowing and tragic themes, this delightfully amusing, romantic, and light-hearted rom-com offered a much welcome reprieve, and the entire book was such a joy to read. I'd likewise realized as well that this book had the perfect, perfect blend of romance and spice that I consider utterly satisfying. I welcome all levels of spice in the books I read - from none to super hot - but it was with this book that I realized once and for all the precise level that I consider as just right.
Now, add that perfect spice level to a hearty romance plot between the main characters - Aurora and Rune - as it played out in their beguiling magical town filled with all sorts of fascinating supernatural creatures....well, you get one heck of a cozy romantasy read that brings you laughter, delicious body tingles, and swoony moments.
Imagine this...a sassy human witch with flame-red hair who's into goat-farming and artisanal soap-making; a wolf shifter who's new to the town and is discovering for the first time what it feels to be in his human and werewolf forms; a mini-goat familiar obsessed with sweets and chewing on anything he can put his snout on; and a wishing spell gone awry. How could that not get you hooked when they're all combined together in one engaging plot to a forever kind of love?
Given how much I've enjoyed Krista's storytelling genius in the books in this series so far, I know I'm not gonna tire of it for a long time coming. With all the other interesting characters who remain, I'm excited to find out who'll be next in line to experience their own HEA.
I was granted a free review copy of this book. I write this review voluntarily.
“Sexy is whatever you find sexy, and if you like a bit of primal chase, there’s nothing wrong with that.” ARC Review- Wishing for a Werewolf by Krista Luna - Release date October 9th
Overall 4.75/5 stars
🎃This is my new favorite Krista Luna book! Hands down! It is a perfectly cozy fall read filled with magic, interesting fae creatures, undeniable longing, and werewolf spice! I’m in love with these two!
🍁Krista Luna’s books are absolutely full of cozy vibes! This is low-angst and full of fall fun! Ferndale Falls is a small town (on Earth) being revitalized by a sudden influx of fae. Ferndale Falls is also experiencing a sudden abundance of new witches (humans) coming into their powers! This story follows Autumn, a fiery soap-making witch who is just coming into her powers and her brooding neighbor Rune, who is a fae of the werewolf variety! Some magic gone awry leads them to work together for the upcoming town fall festival.
Wishing for a Werewolf is book 2 in the Ferndale Falls Forever series. While it is an interconnected standalone I definitely recommend reading book one first, Faking it with the Fae King, first to really get to know some of the supporting cast in this one (plus it is also really fun!).
🍁I love that this one set up multiple breadcrumb trails for future books! I am excited for all of them! (And I see the title for book 3 is already up on the ‘zon)🍁
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. My opinions are my own. Thank you!
This book is pure fall magic. From the first page, Wishing for a Werewolf wraps you in cozy chaos, PSL-scented charm, and a grumpy/sunshine pairing that’s impossible not to love.
Autumn is a newly awakened witch with a talent for artisanal soaps and a knack for finding trouble, usually in the form of her mischievous goat familiar. Rune is a brooding werewolf still learning to navigate life in his human form after leaving Faerie. When a magical mishap at the wishing well swaps their desires, they’re forced to work together to set things right while the town ropes them into fall festival chaos.
The banter between Rune and Autumn absolutely sparkles. She’s chatty, messy, and full of ideas; he’s quiet, protective, and growly in all the best ways. And the mental commentary from 'Horny Autumn' was hilarious. Their chemistry is instant, and watching them go from reluctant partners to something much more was ridiculously fun. Add in a primal chase scene that’s one of the steamiest I’ve read in a cozy fantasy, and I was grinning the whole way through.
The small-town charm of Ferndale Falls shines here, I love the quirky townsfolk, mischievous fae, and magic gone wrong that come together to make every chapter feel like a warm fall hug.
If you love grumpy wolves, sunshine witches, and stories that feel like curling up under a soft blanket on a crisp autumn day (with a dash of primal spice), Wishing for a Werewolf is your perfect fall read.
I received Wishing for a Werewolf as an ARC directly from Krista Luna, and she has absolutely cemented herself as one of my favorite authors. This second book in the Ferndale Falls Forever series is everything I want in a cozy fantasy romance: small-town magic, pumpkin spice lattes, and just the right amount of spice to keep me swooning.
Rune is the perfect blend of grumpy-for-everyone-else but soft-for-her book boyfriend vibes. I loved his vulnerability as he learns to navigate life in his fae form, and the way he’s open to accepting Autumn’s help made me melt. Autumn herself was such a delight. I really connected with her struggles to balance family expectations with her own path, and her chaotic, sunshiny energy (especially “horny Autumn”) had me cackling more than once.
And let’s not forget Babybelle, the mischievous mini-goat familiar who totally stole the show. Add in a fall festival, small-town chaos, and a partially shifted primal chase scene that was pure 🔥, and I couldn’t put it down.
If you’re looking for a cozy fantasy romance that feels like wrapping yourself in a cinnamon-scented blanket but still delivers toe-curling spice, this is the perfect fall read. Ferndale Falls is quickly becoming one of my favorite fictional towns, and I can’t wait to see where Krista Luna takes us next.
Maybe it’s because of the season, but this book was like the best cozy package! Throw in a lovable sunshine witch mixed with a hunky werewolf and I’m immediately sold! Autumn is looking to expand her business and find love, while Rune is seeking to find his place in Ferndale Falls (and his fated mate). One convenient wishing well ends up being the answer for them both, and turns their chance encounter into the engagement of a lifetime.
Can we just talk about Rune though?? Werewolf of my dreams! He’s everything: Handsome, feral, grumpy, head over heels for Autumn, protective. All sweet on the inside while caring about his pack. Sounds like the best kind of cinnamon roll to be honest, but boy did he tick off all my boxes in this book. I loved how he was with Autumn, and especially when he got a little feral?? Ugh, game over for me!
The adorable goat baby just made things even sweeter. Autumn has such amazing goals, incredible talent, and a hard working drive that I just fell in love with. She’s everything sweet and cozy, and turns up the spice when it comes to a certain werewolf. I was smiling way too hard at their chemistry! Krista brings us back to this cozy magical town once again, and became a fall favorite for sure! Grab a cozy drink and this book for a great time!
Thank you Krista Luna for sending me this advance review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was exactly the kind of book my brain needed right now.
It was so cozy, sweet, and even a bit silly too. I needed the brightness and laughter, and I think this book can cheer up even the most gloomy of people. There is no way you won't smile with all the crazy mini goat chaos. Babybelle is like three coffee loaded toddlers wrapped in a tiny trench coat!
I really liked that we got to see a lot more of the characters from the first book, and see how things are changing over time. It feels like having lunch and visiting with your best friend.
I adore both Autumn and Rune. They are both the sweetest of cinnamon rolls, and so kind and caring towards everyone they meet. I love that they work so well together, even when things go sideways. The spice was smoking hot, and plentiful. Meeting Runes family was beautiful, and I wish I had that kind of deeply caring relationship with my own.
The HEA was so perfect in every way, and I can't wait to get a peek into Rune and Autumn's life (and maybe baby werewolves) in future books too. The ending set everything up to roll right into the next book, and I can't wait for it for it to come out so I can explore more of this fascinating world!
This is definitely my favorite book in the Ferndale Falls Forever series! A big hunky werewolf man who is devoted to his family, draws you, is super sensitive to touch, is super strong and absolutely obsessed with you? SIGN ME UP! Rune was a joy to read, straightforward and dedicated to his goals, there was no room for miscommunication with him. He always noticed when something was wrong with Autumn and always went out of his way to comfort and support her. He was sooo dreamy, I feel like me and Autumn had the same running internal monologue when looking at him. Autumn was my kind of girl, decorated to her family and her craft, loving to her goats and Babybelle, while also taking charge of her dreams and doing whatever it takes. Plus her magic is cool and handy, and I’ve never seen it before which is rare!
What was there to complain about when it came to spice? No complaints here! There were plenty of the classic werewolf traits, primal play, knotting and enhanced sense of smell. Plus Rune being extra sensitive was the cherry on top of all the spice. I loveddddd his enthusiasm to learn and feel everything and Autumn eager to teach him. On the other hand, the wholesome moments really melted my heart as well. The cooking, shopping and twin moments were sweet, you couldn’t help but love these two! Definitely my fav in the series so far!
𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐀 𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐥𝐟 was such a joyful, laugh-out-loud read, pure serotonin from beginning to end! It’s swoony, spicy, and just the kind of cozy fantasy romance that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and never put it down.
Rune and Autumn’s chemistry? Absolute perfection. Their fateful encounter at the Wishing Well sets everything in motion, and from that moment on, watching their lives intertwine - her discovering her magic and chasing her dreams, him finding his place and adapting to his human life - is so fun, endearing, and full of heart. 💕
This story is cozy magic at its finest: low on angst, big on charm. Between the Witch Bitch girls’ hilarious friendship moments, a delightfully mischievous goat, and those wandering tulips (yes, they’re a thing and they’re adorable), this world just 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨.
If you love sweet (and 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙮) romance, amusing magic, and stories that leave you grinning from ear to ear, Wishing for a Werewolf is a 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩-𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙. 🌙💕
Special thanks to the author for the gifted copy 🫶🏼
We met Autumn and Rune in the first book of the series. This is their story and the second book in the Ferndale Falls Forever Series. Krista Luna has created this wonderful little town with so many different and wonderfully delightful people you can't help but fall in love with. Rune is a werewolf and protector of the town. Not used to Earth he is lost but eager to learn so he can teach his pack and give them the life they deserve. Autumn is a fiery red head who lives on her family goat farm making soaps. The business is failing though with her parents not wanting to try new stuff and not wanting to listen to her new ideas to bring in more business. Chasing a baby goat name Babybelle she finds the old wishing well and with a little help from the goat makes three wishes. Somehow Rune catches her as she falls over and their wishes get mixed up. The towns people call her the protector and Rune a soap maker. They decide to work together to straighten ou the wishes. The antics of Babybelle had me giggling so much. I loved her deviant little ways and her chewing on everything and her feisty little attitude. The spice was 3 chilis and the story was 5 stars. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
It’s official! Ferndale Falls Forever is the best cozy fantasy rom com series ever! Wishing for a Werewolf is now my favorite fall cozy romance! Sweet and spicy! It felt like curling up in front of the fire with a pumpkin spice latte and a snuggly blanket and having a series of excellent BOOs (IYKYK!)
Rune’s a werewolf who’s only been able to shift for a few months and has lived his whole life up until then as a wolf. It was so spicy to read about how excited he was to feel the touch of skin and to kiss for the first time! I swooned so hard!
Autumn is amazing! She’s hilarious and has this alter ego h0rny Autumn who likes vibrat0rs and Rune’s forearms. I cackled and kicked my feet so many times!
And the spice was spicing! Autumn and Rune are in costume with him as a werewolf, and she runs from him to get him to chase. It’s the spiciest primal chase I’ve ever read! My ereader melted!
Babybelle the goat familiar is hilarious, the walking tulips are back, and the coven of witchy besties are still the best. I love this small town and want to move to Ferndale Falls! I love Krista Luna’s books so much. The way her stories come alive makes me feel like I’m there with the characters and I really want to live in this world she’s created!
- Paranormal romance - Small town romance - Autumnal setting - He likes to chase - Grumpy/sunshine - Cozy sm*^^y fantasy - Adorable familiar
Hold on to your goat! This story is full on fun and sm3xy! I have been a fan of Krista Luna's books since the first one I picked up, but this one? Yes, please. I couldn't get enough of it!
The town of Ferndale Falls is adorable. It is a blend of magical and non-magical people and the quirky level is high! This town loves its autumn festivities and none more than our FMC, Autumn. She is a new witch and isn't quite sure what her powers will be, but she is excited to find out. When she inadvertantly casts a spell on her new neighbor Rune, she has no idea how she did it. But all of the wishes she made at the possibly magical wishing well get switched with ones Rune thought.
I absolutely adored how chaotic Autumn was! Her inner dialogue and discussions with her alter ego, H0rny Autumn were nothing short of brilliant! I found myself cackling out loud many times...
However, there is nothing to laugh about for shifter Rune. OMG, that wolf was the stuff of dreams - a bit grumpy, a lot built and a pinch of charming when needed.
I could stay in Ferndale Falls forever and need the next book in this series!!!
I am such a sucker for a good werewolf romance, and Rune has been one of my favorite characters since he first appeared—so getting his book felt like a personal gift from Krista Luna. And let me tell you… it did not disappoint.
Our FMC, Autumn, is an absolute gem. Hippie, free-spirited, soft-hearted, a little chaotic in the best way—she’s the perfect match for Rune’s broody, loyal, quietly intense energy. Their slow-burn tension?? GOODNESS GRAVY. I was two seconds away from combusting every chapter.
And Rune calling her My Fire instead of the typical “Red”? Obsessed. She’s not just a nickname to him—she’s literally his spark, his flame, his match. 🥵❤️🔥
Speaking of heat… that freckles scene. If you know, you know. And if you don’t know yet, clear your schedule because you’re going to need a moment.
Ferndale Falls continues to be one of my favorite cozy-magical towns. The blend of supernatural creatures living safely together + the everyday chaos magic causes? Chef’s kiss. It gives the series so much heart and charm.
Oh—and fair warning: there are some spicy times in… different forms. And yes, they are HOT.
Krista Luna continues delivering delightful, steamy, magical goodness—and Rune and Autumn may now be one of my top pairings in the series. 🐺✨🔥
This book was everything I wanted and more. Full of wholesome moments, witty banter, magic mishaps, spells go wrong, reoccurring characters that I loved from previous books and spicy moments as well as swoon worthy moments. Rune's character was already a pretty flushed out character from previous books but this one gave him the details, the quirks and let us get inside his head to see him adjusting, learning, and seeing how his relationships worked. It was amazing to see his twin and his niece and nephew again. Autumn was such an interesting character that I related to. Always trying to help everyone even if it means putting more on her shoulders. Rune and Autumn together is perfection and seeing them navigating the spell mishaps and the simmering chemistry was fun. Add in Babybelle, walking tulips and other magic nonsense that just works in the best way and you've got an amazing fall read. I adore this series and Krista is one of my favourite authors purely because her imagination, and writing is immersive and magical. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Joy abounds in this delightful book about personal wishes that seem to be mixed up. It's a wonderful return to Ferndale Falls, where all the characters' happiness is palpable. I love this town and all the beings living in it, from human to paranormal. It seems that Rune and Autumn's wishing well wishes have gotten swapped, so they need to help each other achieve their goals. Rune, a werewolf who is relatively new to Earth (he came through a portal from Faerie), is shy and sweet and a strong protector. Autumn, a witch with an unidentified power, helps her parents run a goat farm, where she makes different soaps. I love how the two of them help each other and understand each other so well. Some of the townspeople are so eccentric, it's wonderful. It has been a lot of fun seeing how the witches in this town have been finding their powers. Of course, the kids and Autumn's mini goat familiar steal the show! This book is well written, and the humour and plot keep it very entertaining. I'm excited to read the next book in the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
3.5⭐️ rounded up Autumn is a witch who has ambitions to open up a soap shop to support her family’s goat farm. On a wayward mission to retrieve her mini goat babybelle (who becomes her adorable familiar), she makes 3 wishes on a wishing well. Turns out her magic is wish granting but her wishes got mixed up with Rune’s wishes. Rune is a cu sith from faerie who is trying to create somewhere his family can live while they learn to shift and be human. So they end up spending lots of time together trying to resolve the wishes. She introduces him to lots of human things and he gives her all the support her family fails to give her. They’re a cute couple and the timing of this book release for a cozy fall read is excellent. I wanted a bit more drama and risk from this book. It was all extremely low stakes, the kind of book that makes you smile just a bit while reading but doesn’t stimulate a ton of other emotion besides contentment (which is so valid to just want that!). I’m very curious about book 3
”Oh, god, watching the werewolf toss around one-hundred-pound hay bales like they weigh nothing is the porniest forearm porn ever”
Rating: 5 ⭐️ Spice: 2-3 🌶️
Tropes: shifter x witch • fated mates • forced proximity • small town • low angst
Krista Luna's Wishing for a Werewolf is a great addition to your autumn snuggle time. A cozy, low-angst romance wrapping you like a second blanket on those windy nights.
Even though it's a somewhat classic shifter/fated mates story, Krista Luna keeps it fresh by focusing on Autumn and her frankly somewhat wacky witchy powers of granting wishes. And her familiar? "Me! Me! Me! Look at me!" 🤣 So cute!
Even for a low-angst story, it could have used a little tiny hint of suspense, but all in all I really loved it ❤️
If you are looking for an easy read that gives you all the warm feels and some good spice, this is for you 📚📖
Did you ever make a wish… This was sweet and cute and adorable and spicy and sweet, I could go on and on, but I loved it. So far, I love this series of interconnected standalones. This one also has an adorable pygmy goat named Babybelle - and quirky animal sidekicks are a favorite micro trope for me. Autumn is a witch living in Ferndale Falls on her family's farm. Her dream in life is to make specialty goat milk soaps. Chasing her wayward pygmy goat, she happens upon the towns old wishing well. So of course she has to give it a go, only the town's grumpy, muscley, hot werewolf, Rune, happens to be doing the same thing at the same time and things go awry - only he's hoping to open a security business. Forced to spend time together to fix the wish mixup, Autumn and Rune may just figure out all their wishes might just come true. And in the meantime the townspeople may think Autumn is providing security and Rune is providing soap so...what could go wrong?
The fun in Ferndale Falls continues! The witches in this town are hilarious and varied, the Fae immigrants are a blend of wise and naive as they learn about Earth and living with humans, and the talking animal familiars are quirky. (Not to mention the lovable tulips and pumpkins running, and rolling, around town!) I couldn’t love this series more if I tried! Krista’s imagination and sense of humor are boundless! I haven’t read a single book she has written I haven’t loved and laughed over! In this book, Autumn and Rune are under an accidental spell, and watching them navigate through it is both spicy and entertaining. Autumn’s familiar, Babybelle, is as feisty and full of trouble as any baby goat I’ve ever met, and I’ve met a lot of goats! (Now I’ll be imagining they are all talking like Babybelle!) The possibilities for love matches in this town, and the situations they will find themselves in, are going to be just as creative and exciting, I’m sure. Lots more fun, please!
