The Lovesick Trilogy

Lovesick: A Frenemies With Benefits, One Night Stand Romance

Rate this book
At Great Lakes Elite School, love feels like a distant dream for Adelaide Holden. Hardened by a past devoid of real affection, she guards her heart behind indifference and fleeting encounters. For her, intimacy is a myth—something others experience, but she’ll never truly know. While her friends chase after love’s highs and lows, Adelaide remains distant, unwilling to let anyone in.

Archer Norris, on the other hand, has always been drawn to things just out of reach. Charismatic and adored, he’s never had to chase—until Adelaide. From the moment he notices her, fascination twists into obsession, and keeping his distance is no longer an option. He watches, waits, determined to break through the barriers she so carefully maintains. And when one reckless night shatters the space between them, Archer refuses to let it be just a moment.

The more Adelaide pulls away, the more relentless Archer becomes. He sees through her carefully constructed walls, senses the truth she won’t admit. Their connection is undeniable, intoxicating and impossible to ignore. But as their entanglement deepens, so do the fears and secrets neither are ready to face.

In a world where love, no matter how fiercely avoided, has a way of finding you, Archer and Adelaide must decide if they’re brave enough to embrace it or too afraid to lose control.

When love feels like both a lifeline and a risk, will Archer and Adelaide take the leap or let their fears pull them under?

At Great Lakes Elite School, love is a distant, unreachable thing for Adelaide Holden—and from the very first page, my heart ached for her. Hardened by a past devoid of warmth or real affection, Adelaide has built her world around walls. Cold glances. Fleeting hookups. A carefully crafted indifference. Intimacy isn’t something she believes in—it’s a myth. A fairytale meant for other people.

And yet, from the moment Archer Norris notices her, everything begins to shift.

Charismatic, adored, and used to getting everything without the chase, Archer is fascinated by the girl who doesn’t fall at his feet. What starts as curiosity spirals into obsession, and when one reckless, unforgettable night breaks the space between them, Archer makes a choice: he’s all in. Even when Adelaide pushes him away, even when fear keeps her guarded, he stays. Patient. Persistent. Unapologetically devoted.

And that’s what made this book hit so hard for me.

My heart cried out for Adelaide—for the way she was made to feel like she was too much or never enough, for the battles she fought silently, and the vulnerability she believed she had to bury. Her pain was real, raw, and deeply relatable.

But what I admired most was Adelaide’s quiet strength. The way she fought her insecurities. The way she faced down the past she thought defined her. Watching her begin to believe she was worthy of love—real love—was as empowering as it was emotional.

Then there’s Archer. I loved him for how he loved her—steadily, fiercely, without condition. He never tried to fix her; he just stayed. That kind of emotional presence in a love interest? Chef’s kiss. Their chemistry was undeniable—intense and electric—but it was their emotional bond that truly stole the show.

And their friends? Scarlet, Michelle, Aaron, and Grey were absolute perfection their bonds felt authentic, supportive, and exactly what Adelaide needed. I adored how they created a found-family vibe that added warmth and light to the heaviness of Adelaide and Archer’s emotional journey.

This book packs in every trope readers crave! Archer and Adelaide are both vulnerable souls, but the way they held on to each other and let their relationship grow into something beautiful had me hooked. Archer is such an absolute cutiepiee🥹 I adored their journey, how he stood by her in her toughest moments, helping her heal and supporting her every step of the way.

Adelaide is a total mood, her sassiness had me grinning non-stop. The banter, the tension, the spice… let’s just say I was blushing hard🫣 The friendship group was such a delight, and that ending? Loved, loved, loved it! Now I’m counting the days until Michelle and Aaron’s book!!

Lovesick is a cozy romance book which revolves around the relationship between Adelaide and Archer who are frenemies and how deep their bond runs despite the difficulties they both have.

They both have come a full circle. From hating men to finding the love of her life, Addy has grown so much. She went through a lot, and Archer healed her. The way everyone loved Addy and when she finally saw it warmed my heart so much. Archer’s sass, cool, biker vibes, and the way he stood by her screams 'the knight in shining armor'. Even when her demons weren’t silent, he never made her feel bad, he was present.

The mental health representation was handled perfectly. The spice in the story was neat and just right. Addy as a feisty FMC is how I love my fmc. The healthy dad–daughter and dad–son relationships, made the story feel grounded and heartwarming. The friendships were amazing too—the girl group and the way Addy protected them, and Archer with his homeboys, added so much depth.

The story of Addy and her mom was traumatic.(One minor point: the payoff for Addy finding her real mother wasn’t fully written.) As Aaron said, for her he would hang the moon and stars. For him she would do anything. The epilogue was wholesome, though I still wish we got their wedding scene. I’m also excited for Aaron–Michelle’s story and can’t wait to see how Aaron convinces Michelle when she’s angry (Ifykyk)

I've cried, related, smiled, got absolutely angry, screamed at characters, laughed and felt so whole during this book. I needed a read like this and I genuinely believe everyone does. This is so good so so so good I don't think I'm moving on any time soon. A book that'll give you good heart touching romance that will make you both giggle and cry while also teaching you so much and raising awareness about so much important topics in our lives. No words can do this book right.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

OH. MY. HEART. I don’t even know how to begin talking about Lovesick without immediately screaming, sobbing, and throwing this book at everyone I know like “READ IT NOW.” This book wrecked me in the best way possible. I laughed out loud, ugly cried, got irrationally angry at fictional people (looking at you, certain side characters), and then cried again, happy tears this time. I felt so seen, so emotionally understood… like this book reached into my chest and just sat there with me, holding my hand.

Vaibhavi Kataria really said, “I’m going to make you feel EVERYTHING,” and she delivered. The way she writes love, grief, healing, and the absolute chaos of being young and trying to figure it all out… it’s raw, it’s real, it’s heartachingly beautiful. There were lines I had to reread just to let them hit again.

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT ARCHER??? That man is down BAD. Whipped. Worships-the-ground-she-walks-on level whipped. He’s so gone for Addy and is not even subtle about it. It’s giving “touch her and you die” but make it emotionally vulnerable. I need more Archers in fiction, thank you. And Addy? MY GIRL. She’s fierce, flawed, fighting so many battles and I wanted to hug her so bad. The strength in her softness? The way she grows and stumbles and grows again? Ugh. I love her.

The romance is top-tier but it’s not just about romance. This book digs into mental health, family dynamics, cultural identity… so many important things that aren’t always handled with care in books, but Vaibhavi does it so thoughtfully. It’s the kind of story that stays with you, teaches you, comforts you.

Why not 5 stars? Just a tiny pacing hiccup in the middle where I felt myself pausing a bit, but honestly? It picked back up and soared to the finish line.

Final thoughts: if you want a book that’ll make you giggle, cry, fall in love, and reflect on your own life all at once, Lovesick is IT. No notes, just tissues. Go read it. Go FEEL it. 💘

Lovesick by Vaibhavi Kataria is not just a book, it’s an experience that makes you giggle, swoon, cry, and even simmer with anger. And, in my case, it made me confront an unexpected question: do I need an Archer Norris or an Adelaide Holden in my life? My answer? Both. Because once a legend "IT'S OKAY TO LOVE THEM BOTH. I DID."

Archer Norris is a man, A MAN. The way he never really hated Adelaide as she thought he did and tbh, vice versa. The kind who supported her unflinchingly, who saw her darkest corners and chose to stay anyway. The way he loved her? Pure poetry in motion. We all deserve someone like him, someone whose love feels like both a sanctuary and a promise.

Adelaide Holden is a woman who suffered so much that my heart aches for her. She began as someone who didn’t believe in love—certain she could never find it—and yet she found herself in the arms of a man like Archer. Her pain, her resilience, her eventual healing… it felt personal. Adelaide is me, and I am Adelaide. Lovesick healed a broken part of me cuz watching Addy heal, it was magical at the best. Maybe one day, all of us who are still piecing ourselves together will find our own Archer Norris—or even our own Adelaide Holden. Either would be a gift. 🥰

I cried so bad at the last few chps, worth it though.
And gosh, THE EPILOGUE WAS SO SWEET 😭❤️

All in all, LOVESICK BY VAIBHAVI KATARIA IS A FULL FLEDGED 5 STAR READ AND ALSO THE ONE WHICH I'LL BE GOING BACK TO IN NEED OF COMFORT.

LOT'S OF LOVE VAI,
ROSHNI!!! 💗🌷

I just finished Lovesick… and all I have to say is — WHERE can I get an Archer Norris? 🫠💘
This man has ruined me for all other fictional heroes. The way he loves? The way he sees Adelaide when she’s trying so hard to hide? The way he refuses to let her push him away? Ugh, I’m obsessed.

Adelaide Holden is not your typical romance heroine. She’s guarded, scarred, and convinced love isn’t for her. She’s been through things that make her believe letting someone in is dangerous. And then Archer comes along — charismatic, adored, and yet completely undone by her. From the moment he notices her, it’s game over. His fascination turns to obsession, and he’s not just going to watch her from afar — he’s going to break through every wall she’s built.

This book is EVERYTHING I love in a romance —
💖 A relentless, obsessed-but-respectful hero who won’t take “stay away” for an answer.
💖 A heroine who’s strong in her own right but terrified of vulnerability.
💖 Banter, longing, and those delicious moments where you feel the tension in your chest.
💖 The “I’ll protect you from the world, but never from me” energy.
By the end, I wasn’t just rooting for their happily ever after — I was ready to file a missing fictional boyfriend report because Archer belongs in my life.

“My heart has fallen for her, and my soul has committed itself to her name.”

I was very excited for Archer and Adelaide’s story since book one. They have absolutely great banter very he pushes she pulls relationship, but they are both very jealous of with each other. Archer and Adelaide feel they are not relationship type of people but something keeps drawing them to each other. The best part has to be how they help heal each other it is very heartwarming and seeing how Archer does not give up on her one bit. This is a story about healing and growth they fit that story. The epilogue was perfect and I cannot wait for the last couple.

🥀This wasn’t just a one-time thing, and you know it. I want you to know that I don’t just want your nights; I want your days too.
🥀She won’t get rid of me this easily. In fact, she won’t get rid of me at all. I’m her worst nightmare and best blessing, all wrapped into one.
🥀Not a single soul, fact, or thing can make me run away from you Cherry. Not even you or your demons.

GUYS I FINALLY DID IT, I FINISHED READING THIS TORTUROUS BOOK. I personally like Him & I wayyy more. I feel as if this book was supposed to be “enemies to lovers” when in reality the enemy part we all love wasn’t there at all. Also the repeating phrases and words was killing me of boredom. Usually I’m not very critical when it comes to books(you can tell by all my 5 stars) but as you see it took me WAYYYY longer than usual to finish this. I also feel as if this book didn’t really capture my attention and I was just reading it because I loved Scarlet and Grey so much. Honestly I’m disappointed and hoping so much that the third book is better. At the same time the reason may be my taste in books have changed due to Him & I being my first book and I started reading a LOT of dark rom/romantsy books. Actually remembering all the amazing I highlighted in the first book I would still give it a higher rating than this.

"I need you in my life. You're like the air I breathe; without you, I'll suffocate."
"I can't do it anymore. I love you too much. It physically hurt not being by your side. You have got me obsessed"

An incredible story, dual pov, but not to easy to read, it has trigger warnings.
Addy The Woman you are, I want into the book and hug and talk to her, the Mastermind.
Archer the Man he is; he really wants the best by Addy, both have a cute range with their dads and the friendship with their friends is so pretty, they really complete themselves.
I like how the writer wrote the characters with respect and she does the reader understand them, I wanna know more (I can't decide one male, OK)
I loved the chemistry between them, and how they complete themselves and the little nickname he has with her

🌟 ARC Review | Lovesick by Vaibhavi Kataria

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5 stars)

I laughed. I cried. I clutched at my chest. I yelled at some fictional people. I highlighted probably like 500 lines. I don’t even know how to exist after reading this workbook.

This is not just a romance. This is something. Something that reaches into your chest, curls up with your inner chaos, and just gets you. Lovesick is so raw and majestic in its vulnerability, so touching and relatable, it gives you the feeling of reading your own diary, your own greatest fears and biggest hopes...but with a lot more steam and a grumpy MMC so down bad, it is embarrassing (in the best way possible.)

🩶 Let’s start with the tropes because YAAASS:
- grumpy x sunshine
- touch her and you die
- forced/semi-forced proximity
- one bed trope
- mental health rep done RIGHT
- jealous, protective, ABSOLUTELY feral MMC
- slow burn but also intense AF

💘 Archer & Addy? Instant love.

Archer is WHIPPED. Like certified, stamped, no going back. He doesn't just catch feelings for Addy, he worships her. Like "give me the stink eye if I even so much as breathe in her direction" protective. But as much as he is protectively obsessed with Addy, he is also emotionally present, respectful, and patient in a way that completely gutted me. I kept screaming "get you a man like this" at my kindle.

And Addy? Addy is truly one of the most emotionally resonant heroines I've read about. Fierce. Soft. Spiraling. Healing. All at once. I wanted to hug her, protect her, cheer for her, cry with her. She feels like a real person. Her pain. Her strength. Her messy and beautiful healing journey. Everything.

🧠 What makes this book unforgettable:

Yes, the romance is swoony and hot and heart-melting. But what really sets Lovesick apart from other romances is how traumatic content is woven into the story. Mental health. Cultural expectations. Family wounds. Grief. Guilt. Trying to hold it together when you feel like your world is falling apart. Vaibhavi Kataria did not write a love story. She wrote a lifeline. The love and care she puts into exploring these topics? Chef's kiss.

If you want a romance that gives you heart eyes and heartbreak all at once—Lovesick is it. It’ll break you open and then stitch you back together. It’s tender, fierce, messy, healing, and completely unforgettable.

Huge thank you to Vaibhavi for writing this and sending me the ARC. I need more. I need bonus scenes. I need a whole Archer POV novella. I need to be held.

Hi! I am the author, so my vote is totally biased, but here are a few notes I would like future readers to keep in mind and acknowledge.
1. This book contains TWs like su!cidal tendencies, self-h@rm, and infertility. If you're sensitive to either, then please don't read or do so with caution.
2. Adelaide & Archer both have had their fair share of trauma, and I would appreciate if their individual storylines and pasts are not compared—that is not what this book is about.
3. This book is fast-paced and more dislike-to-like and not a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers romance, so if you're looking for something like that, then you're in the wrong place.
That's all. I hope that if you choose to read this book, then you're able to find a piece of yourself in this story or, at the very least, it manages to comfort you. And I hope you enjoy reading their love story.
