Has there ever been a melancholic and surrealist smut comic? I imagine this has to be the first. Ms. Understood is a series of strips and pinups that compile the frivolities and sexcapades of "Ms. Understood", in ways that are funny, jarring and distressing in one fell swoop. Juliette Collet's imagination is undeniably morbid, but thankfully it's filled with enough humor and absurdism to really keep this from being over the top. Elegantly drawn with thin, sweeping lines and the use of soft colored pencils add gorgeous shades throughout.
