War — the state of armed conflict between a group of people.
Jordan “Skip” Mills is the middle of the three Mills brothers — quiet, calculated, and cold as ice. He doesn’t talk much, but when he does? You’d better listen. His silence alone says more than most men’s threats.
Life was moving smoothly…until strange things began to happen. Now, ghosts from Skip’s past are crawling out of the shadows, and they’re not just looking to haunt — they want revenge.
His old life is colliding with the future he’s been building, and there’s no more running. A Mills never folds under pressure — especially not Skip. He’s playing for keeps, and if that means going to war, so be it.
Whew… I thought I liked Uno, but Skip honey is pressure! Laid back, quiet, calm, until pushed, then be ready for the beast!
I really enjoyed the beautiful friendship that was built between Jordan and Noemi. However, you knew that as time progressed that those feelings would grow. They were just so in tune with each other; it was bound to happen. But they had just a little problem! No worries though, Jordan gets what he wants and doesn’t care who is standing in the way.
I was so disappointed in Rozier for putting his sister in this position. There wasn’t any other way to build the bridge. 👀 Then you really didn’t do your homework when it came to Chandler! You should have known that he was a hater after what happened to his father! Ughhhh…. 😤🤬
Now Chandler, you really thought you could get over on the Boudreaux’s AND the Mills families? Well, we see where that got you huh. These families were ruthless with their get back and loved every minute of it. Is there someone out there to calm down Wild? Hmmmm… Can't wait to find out.
This was such a great book! Nek has done it again! Skip the quiet brother the one who didn’t talk much so he was a mystery and let me say he had a whole lot to say in those books lol skip was pressure for real, he played no games anyone could get it. The way he stepped 10 toes behind Naomi was beautiful he didn’t play any games when it came to her and the love he had for her was just so freakin sweet!
I don’t care how many stories that NEk gives us from Milly Grove I’m gonna read all of them. I love the brothers in the series. I’m actually obsessed. I don’t know how many family extensions that we can get, but I will read every single one that she writes and I’ll come over here unless you’re ready for some gritty gritty raw uncut, Hood mixed with a little sexy and unconventional moments.
Cause not this man sexed her in her new husband’s house, in her new husband’s bed, on the night they got married…then proceeded to walk hand in hand with her out the front door taking her from her new husband…if standing on business was a person…it’d be Skip🤣
Nek doesn’t disappoint you when it comes to her pen! She will pull you in and won’t let go. I love this series. Jordan Mills the middle brother is a man with very little words, he owns a strip club and run the streets of Milly Grove. He developed a friendship with Noemi and will go to war about her.
Yeah...this was amazing the friendship between Noemi and Jordan was everything. I like that their love grew through Friendship, and they were stronger for it. Now I am not gone say that this book didn't take me through it, because I was not feeling it with Rosier forcing my girl to marry that n*gga. Like I get that arranged marriage was possible for their families but not to that snake ass n*gga. I was even frustrated with Noemi cause all of her bros were trying to give her an out when they knew how she felt, and she didn't take it. I mean in the end it worked...and I was proud. That unhappy reunion just showed how much of a Boudreaux Noemi was, and I loved that I mean deadly ending 10/10. and ended it with given her man that sloppy...haha was award winning performance.
I loved the way Jordan carried himself and cared for Noemi, that is a MAN!!!! BDE for sure. The fact that he just was who he was made me smile, he fell into the role he didn't even know he had so effortlessly, and I loved seeing it.Man of few words but them actions spoke volumes.
Only question is what did jules do to Angelina..haha!!!
I can't wait to read about Wild cause I know that is going to be something
This was absolutely fantastic 👏🏾 Skip came through & knocked Dre outta my top spot! I truly loved Mimi & Jordan ❤️ They both were so deserving of love & I’m so glad they found it in each other. Mimi was a soldier for sure! & whewww Skip screamed BDE 😮💨 I enjoyed seeing their friendship blossom into something much more. It definitely did take some time, but I understood why Mimi was tryna do what she had to do with Chandler. Zoo did piss me off for even putting his sister in that situation, but again I understand what he was trying to do. One thing I really loved about Skip is that he didn’t gaf when it came to her brothers/family. He had no problems expressing where they had him fucked up at in regard to Mimi’s situation. Like literally on multiple occasions he expressed how he wasn’t rocking with the position they put Mimi in & they couldn’t do anything but respect it cause they knew he was right. This book really had a perfect mix of drama, comedy, and action. I really enjoy both families individually so this was literally chef’s kiss!
I usually enjoy an arranged marriage trope even when the marriage isn't between the two main characters but this was a miss for me.
There were so many inconsistentices with this arranged marriage plot. Initially Noemi's brother makes it clear that this marriage has to happen despite him being aware that Chandler meant her harm. Then when her brother comes to his senses and gives her an out he doesn't take it.
I know this is meant to move the plot but the story line was awful. Chandler is abusive, violent, deranged and the worst kind of human. I truly don't need that in a romance novel. Not to mention we had enough drama with Skip and his ex gf that returns with his unknown daughter.
I enjoy mess as much as the next person but this book was messy, violent (mostly towards women) with a touch of romance.
Not sure if I want to take the chance and read Wild's book when it's released.

I knew these man were crash out but honestly the way Skip handled ish was just crazy. That man had no qualms on showing anyone how he was coming about Mimi and it had me smiling the entire time. I loved how different their personalities are but how well they go together. Mimi is not above showing out either but why would she not when she has Zoo, Jules and Dre as brothers. I found it so funny when her mom said she wanted to do everything they did and how she wanted to dress like them too 😂😂. The Mills get active but I knew that from Uno's book.. oh and I love how they name the kids after each other. Loved this just as much as they others ❤️
Skip is my man ! I been said that ! Don’t get yall reading asses in these reviews and try to steal my man! Nek Mills has given us another fine, BDE, Moneymaking man ! Although Skip is a man a few words… the ones he does speak count for something. He was just what MiMi needed ! MiMi almost let the idea of “family business” tie her to a lame forever.. My Man Skip said NOT ON HIS WATCH !
First of all - Nek you are def becoming my fan favorite. I’ve loved all these stories and how they’ve intertwined. Let me say Rosier def pissed me off in the beginning of this book, like I get you trying to keep the business together but why on earth would you try to sell your beloved sister soul to that horrible man ?! Baby couldn’t be my brother I would have said F all yall and left! Butttt ultimately I am glad it worked out, skip was the man for the job and I loved the way he came and scooped Mimi from the man house and didn’t give a single dam. Like lord send one of them my way. Now I need to see Wild fall in love cause he’s a fool.
I’m a huuuuge fan of these Mills bros and Skip’s quiet/observer butt is my FAVE! While Jordan/Skip’s character remains THAT dude, I don’t think the Rosier I first read about would do that to Mimi. When marriage was forced on him, he found a way out that ended in true love. As ‘ruthless’ as he is, wasn’t there still a firmness in his heart for family?
Plus, Jules goes hard for protecting women, to the point where he stood up to Rosier despite the potential fall back (to which Ros relented), so I found it hard to believe that they would have forced a dude they hated on their baby sister.
Given that the Boudreaux characters developed so much in their series, their portrayal in this plot seemed forced for dramatic effect. The Mills bros were riding harder for Mi than her siblings? Nah. I think there could’ve been a different dramatic plot more in line with the overall character development. Even the whole Ginny thing seemed forced. The new villains were on point, though.
Still, I’m locked in for Wild being up next! Is it going to be Ava???
First I wanna say this was more like 2.7, and this was 10000% better than the first book.
Things I liked
-I loved Jordan until about 85% into the book -Wild was probably my fav character -Jordan’s self control with them 304’s -the introduction of Mimi character -everyone that needed to get dealt with got dealt with
Things I didn’t like
-All of MiMi character after her first appearance in the book -The plot -The predictability -The unbelievable actions of some of the characters -How long it took the two main characters to get into an actual relationship -the lack of research on African Crest Rats -innocent ppl lost their lives in a building they worked at for no on their parts.
This story as I said before is landslides better than the 1st one. My issue is mostly with the MFC, the author didn’t know if she wanted this girl to be gangsta or weak. She did all that sly talking but whenever Chandler really got crazy with her she backed down. She wanted to be a victim real bad. All she did was cry the whole dang book. Your a grown ahh woman and you was gone allow sb to force you into a marriage and the reason behind it didn’t make any sense whatsoever. To stop a war? There was no other way? On top of that this man is threatening you and telling you all the things he gone do to you and your family, and you decide to not say NOTHING. Come on now your fam supposed to be so big and bad and you allowed your mother to be kidnapped? That could have never happened if the character said something to somebody ANYBODY. She wanted to be a saving grace for her family so bad, she made herself believe SHE was doing a big one when for real it didn’t even seem like whatever “war” was brewing was taken seriously. The plot was bad real bad. I can’t stand when authors make their characters slow/weak, but try to pass them off as hardcore to us (it mostly happens with the FC). The way she was introduced and even the way she talked in a lot of her head voice, I thought she was gone really give dude a run for his money. Instead she crying over a man she claims repulsed her because he sleeps with other women (ok I can get you don’t wanna be embarrassed) but she was acting like she had real feelings for this man. One minute it’s “oh chandler get off my phone and be with your whore” whore makes herself known, and then you get so mad. She allowed him to create low self esteem within her? How u didn’t even want the man so u say. But her mama was slow too, so I guess that’s where she gets it. To sit with your daughter and tell her you stayed with a man you knew wasn’t faithful to, because he kept quiet is crazy work…Then was she Dre’s sister or cousin?
I DID NOT LIKE THAT THE AUTHOR HAD THEM HAVING SEX AND BEING FREAKY WHILE HIS DAUGHTER WAS MISSING. This was the part I wasn’t feeling Jordan at no more. Like your whole child is missing, where in your brain can you think about sex at a time like this? How were you able to deny all those women and control the urges, but at a time where sex should be the last thing on your mind, that’s what you’re doing? That frustrated me so bad like what was the author thinking?
Last but not least African Crest Rats are herbivores, they do not eat human flesh at all. Fruits and veggies. They are definitely NOT the most deadly to mankind in any way, shape, or form.🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️. They have poison in those little spikes on their backs that’s use to defend themselves from other animals, or being attacked. If those two just got on the bed and waited it out they def wouldn’t have died. If anything they died from starvation, because them rats def didn’t do it.

What’s meant to be will happen. Karma is no joke not to be played with. No one should be forced to do anything they do not want to do. Let’s chat!
Noemi aka Mi/Mimi was not really that girl but was that girl if that makes sense🤭. Like she had a half hand full of friends that wasn’t her friends. Actually she had no friends but had a person that use her for clout - Ginny! From jump I did like her at all. Ole girl was greedy, trifling and messy af😒! One thing about Mi, she wasn’t dumb or green she just played her part until she had to play her hand🤭. I know being the only girl was hard, but she was the baby, a brat and feisty. Oh but her “friend”ship with Skip was everything and then some🥰. I loved them down. Loved the cat and mouse game but glad that didn’t last too long. The ultimate disappointment was the decision/arrangement Rosier made for her for the family. It had me looking at him sideways 😒! I was speechless and didn’t think he ever do that to her. One thing I will say, the way my girl didn’t make it easy had me excited cause stop playing with her 🤭! Chandler was not the one for her. Making a sacrifice was the hardest thing my girl had to do but what she didn’t know was Skip wasn’t going to stand by and watch. I loved everything positive that happened with and for her🥰.
Jordan aka Skip, is officially my man, my man, my man 🤭🤭!! I loved everything about him. He was about business and didn’t allow NO one to play in his face without consequences🫣! Now at first I didn’t know what to think about Skip but learning who and how he is had me all in. Love his vibe, energy and demeanor 🥰. One thing for sure there was no one who can do anything to him and live to tell the story🫣! See at first I didn’t think he liked her like that but when she needed him and he would drop everything for her, I knew then there were feelings involved🥰. Once that was clarified, my guy wasn’t playing with anyone or anything when it came to Mi. The pressure he was applying was like no other. Then the adult activity🌶️🌶️🌶️! Anytime and anyplace was it for him🤭. Then there’s raggedy Gia. I don’t even know what to say about her except greed was the reason for her downfall but hiding a secret as long as she did and still be greedy had her karma coming with that pressure😒🫣! She got everything she deserved. Let me say that my guy got everything he needed and deserved. Love looked dang good on him😍🥰🥹!
Chandler, I couldn’t stand him. I honestly laughed at him thinking his plan was going to work🤭! Ya boy really thought he was going to bring the Bordeaux family down 🤣. See that let me know he didn’t do his homework out his father lacked in educating him🤭. He also that he was going to break Noemi down and tame that mouth of her but did he get a rude awakening. Not only did he get an awakening from Noemi, but he learned hard way about my man Skip and what he was about 🤣🤣! It was The walking out the front door for me🤣!
I enjoy rearing about the quiet silent type of men. The be careful what you ask for type of men.
Skip doesnt talk unless he has too. He is the middle brother and due to heart break, not looking for love or any sort of mix up with a woman.
Noemi is the sister of Rosier and Jules and cousin to Dre. She is their IT, find all information person. She wants love, the love she sees her brothers and cousins have. She befri3nds Skip on one her viaita to the Grove ans thwy became "bestfriends".
Rosier decided to agree to a marriage between her and Chandler to keep the peace. She is torn about having to do this, but is preparing to do it.
Now, the delusion that some of these characters be operating under is mind boggling.
Gia- Skip's ex, wanted more, no, felt like she deserced more from him or that he should have been in control. Her main man was a man that was plotting to take something that he disnt build.
Big Lew- He decided he deserved that business that Skip was part of. A FAMILY business. He really thought he would be able yo gandle Skip then rake over his portion of this family business. This man was so small time, he coulsldnt evem teplace his men.
Chandler- he is in the organization, but thought he ould get revenge othe leadership. He also had no backing behind him to do this. Hr had no discipline, he was using his own product.
Due to the acts of delusion things didnt work put the way some characters hoped for. This was a great addition to thise series.
And just like that…Skip is my man, but don’t tell Dre. Whew. That man was force all by himself but with Mimi he was so much better. They helped heal each other in more ways than one. The chemistry was undeniable, but the love and mutual respect…yeah they were it. Gianna was a welcomed surprise and her presence caused Skip to see that he wasn’t about to continue on him new path without his woman. I loved that Mimi accepted her feelings for Skip, but I wished they’d come clean sooner. I understood the obligation to her family, but Chandler was a complete psychopath. I’m not sure how she went as long as she did ignoring his threats. I was truly worried I for a minute about Ms. Roz and Gianna. The man was unhinged and with what he was willing to do to his sister, I knew he didn’t care about anyone else. I was too happy when his Karma came around.
Gia, Lew, and any other scum in their way got exactly what they deserved for their treachery too. Just evil and greedy for no reason.
First Dre now Skip it's so hard to choose between them but Skips did what a book Bae needed to do. Noemi family especially her brother Zoo had pissed me off trying to marry her off to someone she didn't love or even like. I'm sorry I wouldn't be able to talk to my brothers until they fixed that mess. But Nek Mills did a beautiful job with the story my only question is what's up with the five year gap going on the hidden children I'm reading so many book lately where when the father finds out he has a kid it's always 5 years later and they all daughters like help understand is that a magic number to surprise a Man with a child he knows nothing about. tell me is it easier for the man to swallow the fact that he missed 5 years of his kid life if it's a daughter because it's not just this book I've read so many books that it's becoming a theme almost to be gone for 5 years to come back and for it always to be a daughter that they've had just a side thought but this book was🔥🔥🔥 with the right amount of spice🌶️🌶️🌶️
OMG!!!!!! War About You by Nek Mills was a straight ride from start to finish—every page had me hooked. What I really loved was how Skip and Mimi started as friends before leveling up into something deeper. And listen, Skip? That’s my guy. It’s always the quiet ones you gotta watch—chilling in the cut, but always peeping the scene, plotting, and staying two steps ahead.
Chandler had me heated, and for a minute I was side-eyeing ZOO, too for trying to tie Mimi to that clown just for family’s sake. But once he pulled the plug on that contract....We was friends again:-)!
Skip didn’t play about Mimi—he kept it cool and smooth, but once he claimed her, it was all gas, no damn brakes. I love how he stepped to Zoo and Dre, like.....she mine and ain't nothing y'all can say or do about it! And Mimi? She definitely proved she was a real rider, down for whatever came their way.
This series just keeps leveling up. Wild’s story? Yeah, I already know that’s gonna be a movie. And every time Jules slides through, it’s a bonus for me. NEK Mills did it again!
Yes!!! Im so team jordan and neomi! The love stori came together well! And the title was ja tht! Chandler was unbearable!🤦🏾♀️ And awful, the way he treated people and wht he was about to do to his own sister!! Awful! Tht gia! Tht broad was horrible hw u disregard ur child and act like tht🤦🏾♀️ they all... Got wht came to them!! Skip is definiteli HIM! Definiteli added to mi book husband list! Them scenes🚬! Whoo chile lol! I love it! The two families cmin together and growin! Jules never disappoint! The way jordan went to dre for the number to the prayer line🤣 was hilarious! This book was funni! It got it all! Rome is solid, i like his character. Money loyal! Aww... Kenyon! And Gi Babi! Beautiful famili! I lke tht though jordan knew wht he wanted and did wht he needed to get his ladi! Wht he did on the chandler and neomi so called weddin night, was BOSS! Yes!! I love it! Nw i got to c who gon lock wild dwn cause he is crazi and hilarious 🤣 u did tht! 👏🏽
This was everything!! It had multiple families and dynamics, crime and passion, humor and violence (might I say some fantastic final endings that I never would have thought of) and the best happy ending ever for my girl Noemi. This book pulls at your heartstrings. Noemi is every woman, a lover girl and a romantic at heart, someone who wants the all consuming love of her partner because she will be that for them. Jordan, the broken and mean (🤣) friend turned lover. Stuck in his ways and slightly blind to the best person for him. These two were made for each other. The best parts of this story were the family members and the banter with Wild and Noemi’s brothers and Dre. The scenes where Noemi surprises Jordan with Irene, and just read the book… it was that good. Super sexy club scenes, Jordan being very possessive and protective Noemi and his daughter. Loved it!!! This was good, and my type of carrying on!!!
Skip was everything I knew he would be and MORE!! Jordan Mills. The brother with very few words. But when he spoke people listened. Head of the street business now that his brother is Mayor of Milly Grove. Noemi Boudreaux is full of life, head of IT at Boudreaux Enterprise, and the only sister of the Boudreaux Mafia. This book sucked me in from the beginning to the very last page!! As part of the Boudreaux Mafia Noemi ends up being contracted to a man who she despise. An arranged marriage to a womanizing, coked out, abusive man was almost the cause of her missing out on the true love she always dreamed about. But oh baby Skip was NOT playing about how he was coming behind my girl Mi. This story was so well written. From the character development to the pace. You will need to read The Dreaux: Boudreaux series before reading Skips book for sure.
This was such a great read! I absolutely loved how Jordan and Noemi’s relationship started as a genuine friendship and naturally blossomed into more. For a while, I couldn’t stand her family for putting her in that situation with Chandler, but I’ll admit, they slowly grew on me. And he ultimately got what he deserved at the end. Through it all, Noemi’s strength really stood out. Despite everything she went through, she held her head high, and was 10 toes down for her family and her man!
Gianna was an absolute gem! Her little presence brought so much light to the story. The drama, the plot, the pacing, and the spice,🌶️🌶️🌶️ were all top tier! I’m beyond excited for Wild’s book next. I already know he’s going to take us on one wild ride!
Say what you will or may, but Skip is my guy. It is always the quiet ones who stay in the background that you have to worry about. They are forever watching, waiting, and planning. Always two steps ahead.
Chandler was something else. I was mad at Rosier for a minute because he wanted to marry MiMi to that fool for the sake of family, but then he said he would cancel the contract, we were good again.
Skip didn't play about MiMi. He tried to keep it friendly, but knew he was in love with her. Once he made her his, it was game on. I like that fact that she was a rider and down for whatever.
Wild's story is going to be one for the books. I can't wait!!!! Great series Nek Mills!!!
I loved the genuine friendship that developed between Skip and Noemi. They truly wanted the best for each other and were both searching for real love—who knew it was right there between them all along? I especially loved how Jordan stood behind Noemi and was willing to go against anyone, even her brothers, to support their relationship.
I didn’t love that Noemi still married Chandler even though she knew she was in love with Skip, but everything worked out in the end. The way things wrapped up with Chandler and Gia was so satisfying—they both got exactly what they deserved.
Skip’s book was definitely my favorite so far, even better than his brother’s, and I cannot wait for Wild’s story to come out next!
I’ve been wanting to read on Skip & this read was so good. Skip and Mimi was a match made for each other. Skip protected Mimi and stood on business behind her and his daughter. I love the Mills family.
As for the Boudreaux family, I lost respect for them. The fact that the men seen Mimi as property was insane. If they saw her as a human they would’ve never gave her away in marriage. They literally did nothing to protect her while she was engaged to Chandler. I’m glad Skip checked them all about how they didn’t protect her. As for their mother, she’s even worse bc that’s your daughter you’re telling to settle. They cared more about their family business than their own sister, daughter, cousin & that’s embarrassing. Rosier is EXACTLY like his dad.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. If your new to this, this is Book 2 of "The Boudreaux Mafia Series" spin-off. So yeah, five books 📚 but so much fun. (Although book 2 was a bit creepy 😳 who said that??)
I Digress... Jordan and Naomi were such a fun read! He took his time but when he came, he went to war behind her! Their love was felt, and that man stood 10 toes down for her and she wasn't playing about him!
"When it comes to what or who I want, I’ll go to war about it.”
📚Genre: Street literature 🎭Trope: friends to lovers 🔥Spice Level: 3.5
I said what I said and as always: don't take my word for it. Read the book, form your own opinions, and support your authors! 🫶🏿📖👏🏾
What started out as a friendship for Noemi and Jordan quickly morphed into love. From the first time they officially ran into each other in Milly Grove, they were destined. That silly Chandler really thought he could outsmart The Mills and Boudreaux brothers, they showed him. Gia was a gold digger as well as Big . i, the e
